Ashtie smiled lightly. A bit of it was self scorn. How much could she tell him? Even things she couldn't tell Lante about. Dance, her mother, nightmares, and dance again.

She knew that he was accommodating of her, but she had no obligation to tell him. Also, she did not believe that he would completely understand her situation. What's more, she had no expectation of him to understand how she felt. How it felt to be ostracized for being the daughter of a gypsy, or the reason why she had suddenly collapsed a few moments ago.

That was as far as their relationship could go. And that was her resolute conclusion.
 
Lu Harve walked to the desk near the window. He looked outside the window. It was calm. The darkness swallowed the entire world in its calm. 

"I heard you really enjoy dance."

His words that he practically whispered to himself echoed throughout the room. It was like a ripple across a still lake. Ashtie was about to answer when he said,

"I will let the chambermaids know…"

He was suppressing a slight smile.

"To create a dance studio for the princess."

The thoughts that Ashtie had been worrying about just moments ago shattered and disappeared.

A dance studio. She felt herself welling up inside. She wasn't sure what exactly she was feeling. Her emotions raged strongly. They washed over her. She felt shaken, scattered, broken, and then a sudden blooming hope.

And so, she could not easily open her mouth to respond.

"It will be ready by tomorrow."

Lu Harve turned around and looked at her again. He was a few steps away, but their eyes met.

"Princess. Could I visit you there from time to time?"

A dance studio.

It would be the center of her place for happiness.

Ashtie laughed without making a sound, and with the utmost respect, she answered him.

"Yes, Your Majesty. It would be my honor. I am ever so grateful."

He was continuing to smile. 

She could not have expressed her gratitude with mere words. Ashtie contemplated about what to do, then cautiously added.

"Your Majesty. May I request a favor from you?"

"You may."

"I do wish for Your Majesty to speak comfortably to me, without honorifics. Would you be able to do that for me?"

She was definitely of a lower status than the king. However, she was not part of the lower class. The reason he didn't speak down to her was out of respect for the nobility of another nation. And that person told her that he would give her a dance studio. She had already received so much from him, but in addition to this, there was nothing more she could ever want. And so, Ashtie wanted to express her gratitude in the only way she could think of.

"I will do that."

Lu Harve accepted her request.

There was no further conversation afterwards. She respectfully bowed and turned to leave the room.

Inside the room, the darkness fell on them heavily. Next to the bed, the lamplight remained. 
She suddenly remembered something. It was always faded like that. Ashtie mulled over her thoughts as she sat on the bed. She told the chambermaid who bid her goodnight to come a bit later tomorrow morning. The chambermaid answered that she understood humbly.

The lamplight glowed softly like the light of dawn. Like a child, she sat comfortably on the bed and blankly stared out the window. As if she was the last person left on earth, the night was silent and dark. 

Strangely, she felt that the darkness resembled the dawn. Not the blue of dawn, but the pitch blackness just before the sun rose. It felt like that tonight, also. Ashi, I love you with all my heart. In her sleep, she felt she had heard those words. She had never forgotten or been disobedient to her mother. It was all so clear in her mind. She had probably really said those words. No, she was certain that her mother had said those words.

The light of dawn was getting brighter. The pale bluish-white light poured into the room. Her mother spoke to her sleeping daughter. She even heard the curtains being opened. It was early morning, so she may had been slightly awake. Or it may have been due to the fact that the warmth beside her seemed to be getting farther away from her. She had been that sensitive, the child had been that drowsy, and yet she had heard those words. I love you, Ashi. 

If she had known that would be the last time…

It would have been nice to have known that would be the last time. If she had known, she would have woken up and embraced her mother tightly, begging her not to go, over and over again. But she had been young, and the pull of sleep had been too strong. She had woken only after the sun had gone down. Then, she heard that her mother had hanged herself. 

The lamplight. Dawn. Life was always hazy like that. Truthfully, she still felt that her life was like that now. She realized that this afternoon, also. She had thought that dance was trifling. 
Why was she bothering to live? There was no particular reason to die, and she did not want to die, but she couldn't figure out a reason to live. Thirteen. She was twenty now. No, she would soon be twenty-one. But she was still the same. She had thought her mental illness had been cured, but it must not have been. Now, she was even able to fool herself. Sophisticated casualness? She scorned herself. Only that mask remained. How could she think of dance in this way? All sorts of thoughts and emotions engulfed her. There were no tears, but she felt her heart was already crying. There just weren't any physical tears. Her heart felt heavy. 
Ashtie was unable to sleep all morning. Only until the soft, bluish-white light entered her room did she lie down on her bed.

Time passed too quickly, and the day broke out brightly.

The head chambermaid, Lucia, was a bit worried. The princess did not look well. But as she couldn't refuse the king's command, she cautiously relayed the information to the princess. 

"Your Majesty. The dance studio is ready. Would you like to visit it?"

Ashtie had no choice but to go to it. In a trance, she followed Lucia. They arrived there quickly.
The door of the room was ivory in color, trimmed with a decorative, gold design. Lucia opened the door. Then, with a bow, she quietly retreated.

Ashtie slowly stepped inside. The dance studio was filled with the soft, light colors of ivory, white, yellow, and jade. In one corner was a pure white piano. The room was not big, but it was carpeted. There had been mirrors in the room at Lotte Bishel, and this room was designed similarly with large mirrors that reflected her body. Her reflection was against four mirrors. 

At twenty years old, with the exact same purple hair as her mother, she was wearing a pale ivory dress, tinted in pink.

Ashtie slowly closed her eyes. When she closed her eyes and opened them again, where she was standing looked similar to the place in her past.

Truthfully, she was already there.

In an instant, she was back at Lotte Bishel. The root of her happiness. Her past self, from over ten years ago.

And her mother was there. She was there with her mother.

Like a gem beneath the beautiful sunlight, her mother smiled sweetly as she placed her hands over the piano. The image of her holding her mother's hand as she moved her feet clumsily. Her brightly smiling self. The child that had thought she had been so lucky to have a mother like her. Ashtie, this is called a piano. Her mother's lovely hands bounced above the keys like drops of water. Ashtie, yes, you are doing so well. Her mother had said this with the gentlest voice in the world. Ashi, I love you. Her mother sang a song that resembled the spring rain with her delicate voice.

Dance, sunlight, piano, song, laughter, Mother. Perfect…

It had been perfect. The moment she remembered this, tears fell down her face.

But she did not think that she needed to wipe away those tears.

Ashtie was already moving her feet. Her thin arms were stretched out, and her face had on a sad expression. Her dress opened outward, and her hair flew back and forth as she continued to dance. She didn't think that she had to do it. Her body just decided to dance, as if she had no choice but to do it. It was desperate.

The dance she had memorized at nine years old… The dance her mother had complimented and laughed so brightly at. Cat's Spring, Summer Rain, Autumn's Prayer, Winter's Edge. Ashtie hummed the songs with a tear-filled voice. She danced. Mother. If she could have seen me dance like this, how much more praise would she have given me? She would have kissed me sweetly on the cheek and embraced me warmly. Mother.

Tears and sweat were intermingled, but she didn't care. The dance quickly reached its climax. With reddened cheeks, Ashtie continued to dance and sing. It only took an instant for her singing to turn to crying.

When she came to her senses, she was crying out loud. A grown lady was crying pitiably like that. But there was no one to soothe her. Ashi, don't cry. Nobody said that to her. She sobbed harder, returning to the thirteen-year-old who had lost her mother.

Mother. As always, her heart matured the slowest. And so, she herself felt like a child. She still felt small and helpless, but her mother was not there. Then, she thought to herself, "But you still have dance."

She had already known this. There wasn't anything that she had realized so fully before. Her mother was no longer with her, but she still had dance. It felt like someone was beating her entire body. Her tears flowed more quickly. Unable to control it, they poured down her face. From the bottom of her heart, her emotions welled up and engulfed her.

Her mother sank down, her mother disappeared from her side, and she too sank like her mother. Her legs grew weak, and she collapsed. Tears streamed down her face. Her tears stained the soft carpet as they fell. It fell, drop-by-drop, like dew holding onto the edges of a leaf. It then began to fall like hard morning rain.

The child cried as she apologized. I'm sorry, Mother. I wasn't abandoning dance. That wasn't what I wanted. I've never once thought it to be trifling. I do not condemn it. I will not abandon it. I have nothing but dance. Mother…

Later in the evening, Sarah and Aiden are in his room. 
Two of them spend few hours in the morning working on tasks related to White corp. During the day, they are training security personnel, and after dinner Sarah and Aiden are digging up information about the 'King' person. 
They could not find anything related to King, because fake name was used to purchase that unit 12B across the hall of Sarah's and Aiden's apartment in Fairfield. But they did track the account which was used to pay the apartment. The same account was used for purchase of 12A unit several years back, and then it was sold to Stella last year. 
Owner of the account was non-existent. It was a fake name. However, they still found some leads, because that account was also used for purchase of several other properties. One of them is a warehouse in Chicago suburbs, while others are residential.
Sarah was looking at information about properties purchased with that bank account and was thinking aloud: "We can watch these apartments, but I doubt we will find anything useful. All of them are similar to the 12B unit from Fairfield. Apartments are in buildings without video surveillance. If it's not for Eve, we would not capture King at all. But the warehouse might have some clues…"
"You think that we should go and check it out?", Aiden guessed her thoughts.
Sarah nodded. "These photos from street show that there is a video surveillance. But whatever they have set up, it's closed circuit, so unless we go there, we can't see what is going on. We should go and check it out. We might find some other clues." 
She saw that he is not enthusiastic about this, probably because he does not want to put her in danger, and she was right. However, Aiden understands that it's important to find out about King and organization behind him, and this warehouse is currently their only clue.
They agreed to go together and investigate that warehouse in Chicago area. When Jeff and JoAnna come back to Reno, they will discuss this and come up with a plan. They want to do this, but they want to keep their safety as priority. So, they need a plan. A detailed plan which will ensure that they don't rush into danger recklessly. 

~ Los Angeles ~

At the 22nd floor of White corp. large mirror panels are being installed on the walls in one of the offices which is close to CEO's office. 
Mirrors are in place, and few people are cleaning them, making sure they are spotless.
Jeff is observing installed mirrors with a smile on his face. Why is he smiling? Because he will use this office as a dance studio. Dance instructor will come here secretly and teach him moves which he will use on his wedding day to swoop JoAnna off her feet. For a dramatic effect he is going for, this needs to be kept a secret from JoAnna. 
He was all giddy while imagining her expression when he asks: 'Mrs. White, can I have this dance?'... and she will be like 'Sure...' but she will think it will be just slow left-right thing they usually do... but then he will twirl her and do stuff... and she will be all like: 'Ahh! My fabulous husband!'… and he will be: 'Yes, yes... that is me!' 
Jeff was not aware that now he had a goofy smile on his face, and he was shaking his head slightly.

Steve was reluctant to interrupt whatever daydream his Boss was having, but they had a tight schedule, and he needed to ask him something. He cleared his throat few times to get Jeff's attention. It took a while for Jeff to notice him.

"Boss, I narrowed down list highly recommended dance instructors to four.", Steve showed his tablet to Jeff.
"Hire them.", Jeff didn't even look at the tablet. He was enjoying his daydream, and Steve interrupted it.
"Which ones?"
"All of them." Jeff looked at Steve like he is not understanding something obvious. "I want one class in the morning and one in the afternoon. Every day, whenever I'm in. Make sure that at least one of those instructors is available. And follow up if I need any special clothes or shoes for my lessons. But I don't want to wear those tight fitting pants. Also… you will be responsible that they come here with my private elevator. I don't want to risk Anna to find out about this in advance."
Jeff saw Steve nod and then added. "Did you send those house listings to Anna?"
"Yes, Boss! To Miss Hill and to Bridgette." Steve paused for a second and added: "And those three to Aiden as well."
Jeff gave a small nod and focused back on the mirrors. 
He was getting impatient with slow progress on house hunting, so he looked at available listings and saw that really there is nothing satisfactory. Jeff decided to call few people, and within an hour he got dozen addresses with photos and property descriptions. He is not sure (and does not care) how come those homes suddenly became available, but he confirmed that they are not publicly available for sale.
Since Aiden told him that he and Sarah are looking for a house, he also checked if some might be interesting for them and decided to send them three listings. If they end up getting any of it, that means that he will be in the same city with his brother. Jeff likes that idea. It's been a long time since he and Aiden lived in the same city. And he is confident that JoAnna would love to have Sarah close by.
Smile crept back on Jeff's face while he thought how he will twirl JoAnna on the dance floor, and how she will be surprised and happy.

~ Downtown Los Angeles, coffee shop ~

JoAnna and Bridgette are having coffee and chatting. There is number of bodyguards around them. JoAnna is used to them now.
They got message from Steve with links to information on dozen of houses which Jeff selected.
"Wow! They are all great!", Bridgette exclaimed as they went through information on the properties and photos available. "Do you want to check them out now?"
"There are too many…", JoAnna frowned. She already checked so many houses in last few weeks and is tired. "How about we look them up on the map? All of them are on large lots and spacious. The smallest house has eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms. So size is not a problem. If we are not happy with finishes, we can always redecorate. Let's see which ones are good in terms of location and use that to narrow down choices. Location is most important."
They found one house which is in the city limits, relatively close to White corp. and LA Medical Center. 
"When can we see it? We should call the realtor.", JoAnna ended with a mumble. She does not like that realtor lady very much.
"Steve said in email that we don't need realtor. We just need to go there and say that Mrs. White came to see the property…", Bridgette laughed. "Your future husband is something."
"Yes, he is.", JoAnna grinned. "He is the best."

Of course, I never had access to those identification tags once I entered the mansion. It didn't matter to me anyways since I had to escape the infirmary first to go anywhere. I closed my eyes, only blinking to find myself in a practice room with mirrors acting as walls. Tall wooden bars were attached to the mirrors while dancing flats and heels were scattered onto the light brown floors.
 
The other girl, who claimed to be a fan of that girl, attentively listened to the music, stepping and switching movements while counting the beat. Late in the night, she was the only one using the room. Her feet bruised from her intensive pressure from dancing on her toes, tipping her leg in the air, trying to get that perfect position. My eyes welled with tears as it was similar to me when I was forced to learn ballet by the school.
 
My toes and muscles would ache, unable to endure the strict teachers that spotted every mistake. Countless hours of practicing after classes ended while Luke made me repeat the same movements over and over again until I perfected them. Eventually these movements became ingrained into my body, unconsciously using them even when the classes ended once I graduated elementary school.
 
But that didn't mean I wasn't free from dance classes. Ballet was the foundation for other dances I had to learn where the Roselia family tutors would be more merciless than the teachers at school. I didn't like the performing arts, always tortured by them. However, the girl practicing in front of me, was smiling like she was having fun while practicing. My respect for her increased as she didn't let her sore muscles give her the excuse to leave the practice room.
 
Like the girl who played the violin, she brought a small stereo with her in a crowded area. Once she turned the music on, the girl started to dance in front of a crowd who never turned to take a glance at her. She was invisible to them, the people who began to report her to the security owned by the Locast family. This was why she walked up to the girl who played the violin. She knew how hopeless one could feel when nobody was looking at them.
 
"Your dancing is so pretty," the girl with the violin clapped for her.
 
"Thank you," she wiped some tears welling in her eyes.
 
"I don't ever miss a day of practice," her heart warmed from the first person who acknowledged her efforts.
 
I clapped for the both of them, making one more person recognize their hard efforts. Even though they wouldn't be able to hear me, I hope they would be able to stand in front of an audience that would appreciate them someday. It would be too sad if no one accepted them.
 
"Her fever is getting worse," Luke tried to shake me awake.
 
"I'm up," I opened my eyes to see myself in the infirmary again.
 
"What's wrong?" I wondered why Luke was clenching his fists.
 
"We have taken the maximum number of days we could take a leave," Luke explained.
 
My jaw almost dropped since I didn't want to return to the school yet. Why would I want to leave a safe haven for a dangerous place where a monster resided? It was also clear the teachers didn't finish their investigation yet, leading to a high possibility the same things would repeat once we entered the school campus.
 
"I don't want to leave," I tugged his sleeve.
 
"I already packed our stuff," he frowned.
 
"The teachers sent us a message they have increased the security," Luke didn't believe them.
 
"We can ask other families to pull their donations out," Alex suggested.
 
All of us entered one hover car, choosing to stay together. Miliana silently trembled with anger when she heard from Charles that the teachers were still figuring out the issue. Meanwhile, Luke was busy organizing more medicine inside his inventory, taking a huge supply from his mansion. When Alex noticed Luke taking most of the bottles out in the infirmary, he stopped by his own mansion to do the same.
 
"Are you ok Rika?" Shelly noticed how my body was burning hot from the side effects.
 
"I am," I leaned against Luke.
 
I closed my eyes, hoping to get more sleep while I could. Only opening my eyes when the hover car drifted into the courtyard in the middle school section. I sighed as I walked out the car, wondering if we couldn't take more days of leave. Since the sky was dreamy violet, the edge of the daytime, most of the classes should have already ended. It was better to directly go to the high school section where we could sleep in the tents.
 
As soon as the violets transitioned into the dark navy shade of the night, I flinched as the poking resumed. I groaned as this was not the best time when I had just recently recovered from my fever from chugging all the medicine Luke passed to me. When I turned to my classmates, they just looked thankful that the music wasn't loudly playing as before.
 
"We hope to start the performance together," two shadows suddenly appeared in front of us.
 
"Without the music?" I hoped that horrible song wouldn't play again.
 
"I can't dance without the music," she waved her hand to teleport us somewhere.

I was captured and put onto a stake to be lit on fire as part of the ongoing witch hunt conducted throughout the land. I had to do something. But, this life really sucked. 

This all started when I was accidentally killed by God. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill you. It was just that I was overworked lately by my superior and I just wanted some time to relax and vent my stress out," he confessed.

"So, while I was snacking, I accidentally dropped one potato chip into the human realm where the child tripped over the potato chip onto a den of steep stairs." God guilty admitted.

On the side, there was a small screen which said "Reserved for 2 hours" along with a small countdown ticking down. 
A sound system was located in the corner of the room, placed in such a way that it would not hinder the practice.

Teetering bodies, dirtied school uniforms, pale faces, and moving mouths like they were trying to say something. The three girls' faces were frozen in fear and terror, and their bodies seemed to have grown out of the wooden chairs.
As his gaze alternated between the mirrors and the entrance of the girl's dressing room, a chill crept over Chen Ge's heart. Just not too long ago, he had tipped the chair over and observed them closely.

He turned to look at the mirror, and in the reflection, two slender and pale arms could be seen hanging off his shoulders. Without a second thought, Chen Ge turned and started his assault!

The mallet landed on the back of the chair, causing a crack to appear on the chair. The scream of a woman reverberated in his ears. In the mirror, he could see the female student on the chair glare fiendishly at his back while her arms encircled themselves tightly around his shoulders like she was trying to press him onto the seat of the chair.
What is the purpose of her doing this? Could this be some kind of evil musical chairs game where my soul will be eternally trapped inside the chair if I sit on it?
The force on his shoulders gradually increased as pairs of pale arms latched themselves onto him, trying to pull him back into the girl's dressing room. To make matters worse, Chen Ge could hear shuffling from the outside corridor, and several seconds later, another wooden chair appeared at the entrance of the dance studio.
My luck is always used at the worst possible moment. It chooses a time like this to make me popular with the girls!
Chen Ge was at his limit. Instead of running away, he shifted to attack mode. With one hand on the chair's back, he used his other hand to swing the mallet around, laying waste to the chairs that surrounded him!
When his mallet formed the first crack on the chair, Chen Ge had noticed that the expression of the female student shifted from pleading to venomous resentment. Through the shift in expression, Chen Ge came up with the conclusion that the chairs should be their items of possession, similar to how Xiaoxiao's family attached themselves to the ragdolls.
Demolishing the items of attachment won't destroy them, but at least it'll be able to injure them.
The force on him intensified. A newbie who had not experienced this before would probably have ended up as a willing lamb for this group of girls by now. Unfortunately, their opponent was Chen Ge. This proprietor of a Haunted House had just spent a night at a haunted apartment with a serial killer. Chen Ge still knew fear, but after multiple incidents, his resistance to fear had been trained. This shift in situation did not slow Chen Ge down; instead, it only made him more vicious as he gripped the chairs and smashed them at the wall. As the chairs cracked, the force around his neck lightened. When all three chairs were nothing but splinters, the chokehold around his neck finally disappeared.
"Leaving these things behind benefits no one. Later, I'll burn all of you to help you seek closure." Chen Ge leaned against the mirror and tried to catch his breath. There were visible strangle marks around his neck.
The fighting must have created tons of commotion. This will definitely attract the attention of the person who is following me. I'll need to leave as soon as possible. Anyway, the red dancing shoes don't seem to be here.
This place was definitely haunted, so Chen Ge didn't want to stay at the dance studio anymore. The sound of the rattling of the lockers inside the girl's dressing room intensified, and that was not something that could be caused by a draft. Other than that, there were many other curious happenings like the sudden deepening in the colors of the walls and floor as well as the weird 'ping, ping' noises from the corridor that had gotten far more frequent.
Just as Chen Ge prepared to leave, he almost tripped from someone pulling on his lower calf.
Chen Ge turned to look at the mirror and saw the three female students were pulling on his leg, their fingernails almost pushing into Chen Ge's skin.
Seeing this, Chen Ge also grew desperate. He smacked his mallet down on the wooden splinters, but no matter how hard he smashed, the girls did not release their grips on his calf.
The weird noise in the corridor was getting closer, and the vengeful faces that were pulling on Chen Ge started to laugh maniacally. A heavy cloth seemed to fall over the dance studio because the light from his phone started to twist as the heavy stench that Chen Ge had caught a hint of earlier started to suffuse the air.
There's a scarier presence hiding at this school?
Chen Ge was spooked by the thought in his mind. He dared to come to this school so late at night mainly because he assumed Zhang Ya was the scariest presence this school had to offer. He was there to do a favor for Zhang Ya, so she had no reason to harm him.
This is bad.
Something seemed to have reached the door of the dance studio, and the stink in the air intensified.
The three girls on the floor were glaring at Chen Ge with fierce and sinister expressions. Chen Ge's back was leaning against the mirror. He reached into his pocket, and his fingertip had just touched the doll when the weird noise at the door retreated with a speed that was faster than it was when it arrived. Then, the stink in the air slowly vanished.
What happened? It feels like the thing outside the door was scared.
All the weird noises disappeared instantly, and Chen Ge could only hear his heartbeat then. The light twisted at a greater degree than before, and the temperature in the room seemed to have dropped further.
What is happening?
The pulling on his calf had also disappeared. Chen Ge lowered his head and saw the three female students were hiding as far away as they could and looking at the space behind him with desperation in their eyes.
Behind me?
Chen Ge turned his head awkwardly around to face the tall mirror. The image reflected back at him was not his own but a woman in a blood-red school uniform looking down at him.


The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. 
At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. "Landlord, is this what you meant by 'the house can be a little crowded at night'‽"

Lucas and Emma where in Emma's room practicing their dance "that's it, just slowly follow my steps, keep an eye on my feet, step, step, step, spin".
Lucas followed the steps and smiled "I did it and it was fun!"
"Very fun" Emma smiled "I think you've pretty much mastered it, but make sure not to forget it in a few months ok?" 
Lucas smiled "I promise I won't".
A few months passed and it was a day before the performance, Lucas was in his room practicing his moves when Leia walked in "hey, how are you feeling?"
Lucas jumped a bit "don't scare me like that!"
Leia sat down on his bed "sorry, didn't mean to scare you, but um...this is your first performance ever, are you sure you'll be ok?"
Lucas sighed and sat next to her "I'm scared but...I'm sure I'll be ok if Emma's with me".
Leia smiled "I'm glad you got such great friends, they're rare and you should never let them go, got that?"
"Yes, I got it".
"Good, now sleep, you've been practicing all day".
Lucas went to sleep and the next morning he quickly ran to Emmas to meet up with her before the performance.
"You're nervous aren't you?" Emma sat on her bed with Lucas next to her.
"W-well yeah! How many people w-will be watching...a full room...my parents, yours….my sister, I'm scared Emma!"
She put her hand on his shoulder "Lucas, just do your best, this isn't a world tour or anything"
"There'll be one of those!?"
"No silly, now come on, go home and get changed, we'll meet at the front of the building, ok? The class has one hour to practice before the performance".
Lucas went home and changed into his tux, a few hours later he and Emma went into the building and their class, Lucas looked around and noticed Chris staring at him, he shivered a bit, Emma noticed and looked over "you ok?"
Lucas jumped "y-yeah…"
Emma giggled "it's not even the performance yet, calm down".
Chris turned to his dancing partner and practiced while thinking "I liked her...and he took her away from me just like that….I'm a much better dancer than him, there's no way she's into him...is she? She's just so nice she took pity, yeah, that's it, once this performance is over I'll be able to dance with her again, I'm sure of it".
"H-hey! Watch it! Don't step on my toes!"
Chris jumped "a-ah- sorry!"
Emma glanced and whispered "wow, Chris stepping on someone's feet? That's new, he's one of the top dancers here".
"I-I'm worried...wh-what if I step on your-"
"shh, don't worry, you won't, if he did and you haven't yet it makes you a much better dancer than him" she giggled.
Chris noticed the giggle and gritted his teeth "she's giggling...she saw my mistake...she's laughing at my mistake!!"
Leia sat in the front rows and thought "Dark ones tend to attack at moments like this...I just hope everything will go smoothly…" she looked around and noticed Sophie "oh no-"
soon it was time for the performance, it all went great and despite Lucas' nervousness he didn't make any mistakes.
"See? I told you it'd be fine" Emma whispered.
Lucas smiled a bit and bowed to the audience with everyone else before the curtains closed.
Chris stared at Emma from his position when suddenly he heard a voice in his head "you hate her don't you, you hate that boy, right?"
"Well...yes…" he thought.
"She threw you aside like you meant nothing to her as a dance partner, you want your revenge on the boy, don't you?"
Chris' fist clenched and he accidentally squeezed the hand of the girl he was holding hands with "ow! What's with you!?"
Chris let go "ah! Sorry!" He ran off to hide in the bathroom "what...are these thoughts...why…"
"Listen to me, surrender your soul to me and you will have your revenge".
"R-revenge...what revenge…?" His head was beginning to hurt.
"I hate that boy as much as you, let us unite as one, surrender to me and I will give you great power".
"I...I don't want-"
the voice interrupted him "I can see it in your heart, the pain is tearing you apart, that pain is what I'm using to get to you, let go of your sanity and give in to me, I will mend that pain".
"No...this...this is wrong...I can't...I don't aaaagh!" He punched a mirror and fell to the floor gripping his head, dark energy coming off of him.
"You do and you can, give in kid, you want that boy dead as much as I do".
"Killing,..is...wrong...I...won't…."
"You want to...and you will, go on, give in kid".
"I...I….aaaagh!" His body floated up and dark energy swirled around him, strangely it also picked up the mirror shards, soon enough the energy exploded in a giant circular wave, shaking the building and shattering all the other mirrors, Chris was dressed in a full black outfit and his black shoes, but he also had black gloves with mirror blades coming out of them and the same blades on the tips of his shoes "what is this…"
The voice spoke in his head again "you like dancing right? Use your dancing for fighting, well, powers can sometimes be random too, so you can use mirrors too, don't worry, you belong to me now so I can give you all the info, just kill the boy and girl".
"Yes...master…" Chris walked out of the bathroom, the people around him didn't notice him as he walked forward.
Sophie got up and pulled out her phone, calling Gerald "you were right, there is a dark one here, a new one by the looks of it, engaging now".
"Not gonna wait for me? I was on the roof looking out for any dark one's coming in".
"The sooner we deal with it the better, stay on the lookout and watch the kids when they leave the building" she calmly walked down the hallway, transforming when nobody was around, her hair became shorter and white gloves covered her hand, her purple dress became covered in small golden stars and eyes turned snow, she and Chris were swiftly approaching one another, the hallways filled with people .
"With this many people...I need to clear this place" her fingers sparkled as she drew a star rune in the air, suddenly golden energy burst through the hallways and people began clearing out "there we go...now to deal with this pest…"
Chris walked in her view and stopped.
"she is an obstacle, dispose of her" the voice spoke in his head.
"...yes master…" he dashed at her and went for a kick, Sophie quickly stabbed with her rapier to deflect it, he followed up with multiple swift kicks and punches, moving in quick dance like movements, Sophie quickly stabbed them all away and flipped her hair "wow this kid's fast".
Chris pirouetted, leapt into the air and kicked down with a flip, Sophie swiftly stabbed upwards, a star rune in front of her rapier, Chris kicked it and got knocked back, however he recovered, landed on his feet and slid back.
"Alright, you're good, I'll give that to you newbie, let's see now" she swiftly drew a rune with her rapier and stabbed, a thin laser shooting out, Chris raised his palm and created a mirror to deflect it.
Sophie waved her hand and it disappeared "mirrors, great" she dashed at him and went for multiple quick stabs, but Chris deflected them "darn, still fast as ever, alright, let's dance, a dance of chase!"
She flipped over him and turned around to stab, it was blocked, but she broke into a run, leaving runes engraved in the floor.
Chris stared for a bit before running after her, but each rune slowed him down "you fool, stop!"
Chris stopped and Sophie turned "got you!" She sheathed her rapier and raised her hands, the runes rising up and changing slightly, she then extended her hands and the runes shot forward, turning into a chain, wrapping around Chris, the chain had a star on each end, one stabbed itself into the ground while the other flew into Sophie's hand "I can switch what type of runes I use at a moments notice, this neat trap is called Star Chain trap, how unoriginal huh? Well, so is dance moves for a fighting style, ha!" She pulled the chain and suddenly Chris became covered in a bright light that faded away.
Sophie pulled out her phone and called Gerald "dealt with, are the kids safe?"
"Yeah, they left the building like 2 minutes ago, following them now, Leia looks very worried...think she'll tell them?"
"Wouldn't be much of a problem, not like they'll believe her anyway, but what I do think is that she wants back, but isn't sure how to ask for it".
"You want her back?" Gerald asked.
"Not my choice to make, but if she indeed does I would have no objections, she was a great Star Warrior, even at her young age"
Leia, Lucas, Emma and their families walked together in silence, Leia was thinking about what she sensed and Star Warrior things, but decided to be the first to break the silence "you two were amazing out there, I think you were the most in sync compared to the others".
Emma blushed "really?"
"Sis, can you you not emberrass us?"
"What's so emberrassing about a compliment?" his mother wondered.
Emma's mother whispered something to Lucas', they both looked back at the kids and then giggled.
They soon reached a point where they had to separate, Lucas turned to Emma and smiled "I think I'll stay in the classes, it really is fun and I enjoy...dancing with you…"
Emma smiled "I do too, see you in school?"
"Yeah, you too, bye!"
"bye!"
after their parents said goodbye to each other as well they both waved and left to go to their homes
Gerald sighed and pulled out his phone, calling Sophie "I made sure both kids made it home safely, have you found the third hero yet? Or have the elders given us any news?"
"No, nothing at all, I believe perhaps the light hasn't found him yet".
"Maybe so, we'll see".
"Let's meet up at the apartment and try to figure things from there" Sophie proposed and they both agreed.
"Got any ideas on how to find the third kid?"
"He is somehow blocking the magic that's reaching out to him, how is that possible?" Gerald wondered
"I have a theory, he's too focused on one thing, he refuses to accept anything else new into his life".
"That...actually kinda makes sense but what do we do about it?"
"We wait for a dark one to go after him, that's all we can do"
Richard was reading a book when his mark glowed again "no, I don't care about you, leave me alone whatever you are!" His eyes got heavy, his head dropped a bit, but he shook his head, got up and went into the bathroom, trying to wash it off "get off dammit! I don't want you, I don't like tattoos, especially not glowing ones...man if my parents ever find out about this I'll be screwed…"
"Dinner is ready!" Richard jumped at hearing his mother's voice "I am so screwed…" he looked at it again and noticed it was gone "well, it seems to conveniently disappear when I want it to, that's neat".
He sighed and went downstairs, his family was rich so dinner was huge, there were multiple types of foods that looked and smelled delicious "chef, please read the menu" his father said as he sat down.
The chef listed at least 5 different dishes "well, let's dig in" Richard's mom smiled.
Richard nodded and put some food on his plate, keeping an eye on his hand to make sure the mark doesn't appear again, thankfully it didn't and dinner went smoothly, he got up from the table "I'll be going back to work now".
His father nodded "ok son, work hard".
"Don't overwork yourself dear, get some sleep in an hour or so, ok?"
"Honey, if he wants to work let him"
Richard sighed "I'll work and then get some sleep, night" he went back to his room and back to work on the program he was developing.

Previously, after she recovered from the sudden urge to hide, Bai Chen had already stood up, opened the window, and prepared to cooperate with Jiang Baimian and Shang Jianyao to deal with the Superior Heartless. Therefore, she had seen Abbess Zhou Yue's actions.

They all had certain weaknesses or prices to pay.
"Yes." Jiang Baimian didn't directly deny it. After all, she lacked sufficient samples and evidence.
She thought for a moment and said, "Let's assume that this Superior Heartless is an Awakened and that the price is the fear of mirrors. Then, what are his three abilities?"
