Jack tasered Yana with his eyes, electrocuting the little lass on her spot. His lips twitched when he saw her cower in the kitchen, turning him in as the fall guy. But he didn't call her out because he wanted Yana to owe him a favor that might come in handy in the future.
So, with a smile, he took Olivia's cup of coffee and replied, "Of course, Ms. Lin."
"This tastes the same to me," Maxen commented when Jack went to his side, ready to pick up his cup. He made a toast to Jack before the latter went on his way to grab Olivia's caffeine fix.
After saying their graces, Maxen and Olivia dug in and ate their breakfast in silence. 
While Maxen had his usual heavy platter of proteins, Olivia, on the other hand, took bird bites of her avocado toast topped with a slab of scrambled eggs and strips of smoked salmon.
Wiping a napkin over his lips, Maxen probed, "Where are you meeting your client tonight? I can pick you up after my…"
"State dinner, Your Highness," Jack interrupted, after seeing Maxen gave him 'the look'—the one where Maxen tips his head as if telling Jack to fill in the blanks for him because he totally forgot who or what it was that was being talked about. 
He then placed the fresh cup of coffee on Olivia's side of the table, bowing slightly after Olivia mouthed a thank you.
"Oooof. That'll end later than I anticipated," Maxen tsked. He knew how time consuming state dinners were and there's no way that it would end before midnight.
"It's ok. I can go home by myself. Plus, we don't know how long that meeting would last. It's my first time meeting her today so I have to do all the rituals that come along with the contract."
Maxen furrowed his brows at the mention of 'rituals' but still glad that the client was a 'her'. 
Scratching the skin above his eyebrow, he followed up with a question, "So, uh, this client… is she a normal one or a Pyxis?"
Taking a sip of her coffee, Olivia replied, her eyes never left Maxen's, "Just your average CEO. I don't handle Pyxis accounts in Nisia because Tristan's the one who handles it. Unless, a certain prince would sign up for me, then, we can talk about business." She winked.
A slow boyish grin curved on Maxen's lips. "But I don't want to be unprofessional and mix business with pleasure, so… No, thank you, baby."
The two exchanged smiles, and the smell of feral desire wafted in the air as if it was their cologne.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Yana's sense of hearing heightened. "Are they flirting?" she whispered. But when her senior didn't reply, she elbowed Secretary Gail who elbowed her back, so she stomped on the secretary's foot who retaliated soon after.
It was a good thing that they were standing behind the kitchen island. If not, their movements would give away that they were eavesdropping on their boss's conversation.
They finally came to a truce when Olivia called upon Secretary Gail and the two—Olivia and Secretary Gail—walked towards the renovated study.
"Anything else that I need to know about CryptoDynamics?" Olivia asked, flipping the pages of the document on her table. 
She had to ask Secretary Gail to run another background check on their client after reading the CEO's file last week. Somehow, she felt a weird vibe just from reading what's printed on the company's data.
"It's all clean, President. But I went around to ask a few friends and one came back with… a tip."
Olivia raised a brow at Secretary Gail, unsure of how to take the news. Usually, her secretary would never resort to crowdsourcing, but it seems like this client was someone formidable.
"And what did you find out about her?"
"Nothing big, really. She just prefers a certain brand."
"Is the brand something that we should be worried about?"
Secretary Gail shook her head. To her, what her friend informed her felt like a trivia rather than a fact.
Seeing no urgency in knowing such insignificant detail, Olivia gathered the files on her desk and stood up. Passing by her secretary, she handed the files under Secretary Gail's care.
Meanwhile, outside by the foyer, Maxen stood waiting for Olivia to finish her morning briefing. He turned on his heel upon hearing the door creak open.
"Max, can you take my photo?" Olivia asked. She handed him her phone and stood on her usual photo spot by the foyer nook beside a towering fig leaf tree.
And like a true Instagram boyfriend, Maxen didn't disappoint, giving instructions whilst making sure that his thumb would press the shutter—nonstop.
"Move a little to your right. Wait, I don't like the lighting. Okay, that's better. Do you want to change your pose a bit? The last one looks the same as yesterday."
"Just take a photo. I can photoshop it on the way to the office."
Ding!
Their mini-photoshoot was cut short. On the way inside, Maxen took the lead, holding Olivia's free hand.
He leaned on the steel wall while Olivia leaned her back on Maxen's chest.
"When are you going to delete that bikini photo?" he grumbled when his eye caught that one photo he asked her to take down.
"What's wrong with that? You don't like it? But you're the one who took that photo. And that's the most liked one, so no bueno. That photo is staying." 
She immediately locked her phone screen and hid her phone. She knew why he was asking her to delete that photo, but there's no way he would take control of her social media accounts.
Arriving at the basement parking lot, Maxen dropped Olivia in her car first. He paused for a second when the car didn't leave right away.
To his surprise, the window rolled down, and Olivia clawed at his tie, lunging him forward before planting a smacking kiss on his lips.

Later that day, Secretary Gail knocked on Olivia's office door. She straightened her jumpsuit as she waited for the office door to unlock. "CryptoDynamics is in the lobby waiting for a lift, President," she announced.
"Oh," Olvia checked her wristwatch and bobbed her head, impressed that this client was punctual. "Just in time. Perfect. Is everything ready in the meeting room?"
"Yes, President." Secretary Gail bowed, gesturing towards the door so her boss could walk ahead of her.
Standing by the company's entryway glass door, Olivia could feel three lines crease on her forehead upon seeing her guest. Her mind subconsciously went on critical mode, overstimulated at her client's arrival.
Chanel eyewear, check.
Chanel clothes, check.
Chanel footwear, check.

Okaaay. Chanel earrings, check check. It's a pair.
"Oh, god." Olivia crinkled her nose. Behind her, she heard Secretary Gail whisper, "Confirmed. Chanel #5, President."
The two ladies tried their best to keep a business-like smile as their guest approached them, but it all went down the drain when the CEO spoke as she shook hands with Olivia.
"Nice to finally meet you, Ms. Lin. AHAHAHAHA!" The client covered her mouth with the tip of her eyewear as if it would quieten her cackling.
"It's a pleasure to be of service to your company, Ms. Greene."
"Ooooow. You're so cute and formal, Ms. Lin. But since you'll be taking care of me and my baby, why don't you call me in my first name instead?"
Smiling at her client, Olivia gestured to the hallway that would lead to the meeting room. "After you, Ms. Chanel."
"AHAHAHAHAHA! I love my name. It's my favorite brand. AHAHAHAHA!"

"I am your new Master!" Li Xiandao looked at them and was unafraid. He said confidently.
"You are our new Master?" A book that was wrapped in ice asked.
It must have been an ice element technique!
"Yes, I am the new Master of the Bank of the Universe and also your new Master." Li Xiandao nodded his head.
"Has the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository been unsealed?" A slightly yellow book with badly damaged edges asked.
Li Xiandao smiled, "Yes. I have redeemed the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository. From today on, you all can head out of the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository to play around the Bank of the Universe."
The moment he said this, many of the books started to excitedly show off their skills. 
Ice element books froze a region, allowing everyone to ski.
Some fire element books spat out flames which melted the ice, causing it to rain down on the dry roads.
Some wind element books caused a gentle breeze.
The other different element books were all dancing happily, showing off their joy and elation.
Li Xiandao looked at them carefully and didn't disturb them. He realized that out of the tens of millions of books, only 10,000 of them gave birth to their own consciousness; it was a really low ratio.
These books with minds of their own became members of the empire, each having their own homes. They studied and some even started to date, to marry, and think about how to give birth to new books.
These books lived and played around in the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository without any worry at all. They celebrated Li Xiandao becoming their new Master, dancing and singing to welcome him.
Li Xiandao looked at how happy they were and his mood instantly improved. 
This was a new race with no worries at all!
After they were done celebrating, Li Xiandao asked, "Is there a manager here?"
"Yes, the Ten Books of Heaven were the 10 managers before us." One book answered.
"Ten Books of Heaven?" Li Xiandao asked curiously.
"They were the 10 books that Shi Xiong created a long time ago." An old book coughed and replied.
"Shi Xiong?" Li Xiandao didn't understand anything that was being said.
After all, he had transmigrated and was a servant after he appeared in this world. Thus, he knew little about the world; one could even say that he knew nothing.
Shi Xiong created the Ten Books of Heaven a long time ago. The 10 were: Eternal Heaven Book, Book of Taixu, Book of Time, Book of War, Source Dao Book, Death Records, Moral Scroll, Book of Disaster, Guarding against Feelings, and Light of the Gods." The old book added.
Li Xiandao listened and didn't say a word.
"These 10 books were collectively regarded as the Ten Books of Heaven. The meaning of which was simple; if you get one, you will be able to fight against the heavens and compete against the earth." The old book explained.
Li Xiandao understood and asked, "Then, where are the Ten Books of Heaven now?"
"Nine were loaned out and only the Book of War is left in the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository." The old book sighed.
"Where is the Book of War?" Li Xiandao asked right away.
He looked around and didn't notice the tracks of the Book of War.
"It is sleeping. Last time after the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository was sealed, no one could enter and we couldn't go out.
It fell asleep and told us to wake it up when the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository was open." The old book said.
Li Xiandao was stunned and didn't expect that the Book of War had such a personality.
"Where is it now?" Li Xiandao asked.
"The highest floor. It slept for 10,000 years and you can go wake it up now." The old book said.
Li Xiandao nodded his head, "Go do your own things. I will head up to wake it up. As for your daily routines, just stick to what you are doing. I won't disrupt your way of life."
Those books, who were used to such a way of life, were at ease when they heard it. Their respect and impression of Li Xiandao improved greatly. 
Li Xiandao didn't want to revolutionalize this place and enact strict rules on them.
After all, they were just a bunch of books that had minds of their own!
They had their own consciousness. After years of studying, evolution, and reading other books, they were far stronger than Li Xiandao.
Even if Li Xiandao had the all-knowing talent, he didn't really know everything. He needed people to guide him.
Only with someone guiding would he be able to learn quickly.
He said goodbye to the books and walked to the highest floor.
There was only one platform and a book laid was laid on it. It was a really thick book and there was only one huge word written on it.

The moment Li Xiandao saw it, he felt like he was sucked into it.

The Book of War was unlike the other books that showed their hands and legs. It was just a book that laid there silently.
If he hadn't seen the books that had their own minds previously, Li Xiandao wouldn't believe that the Book of War would give birth to its own consciousness.
He picked it up and asked caringly, "Have you woken up?"
The Book of War didn't move at all!
Li Xiandao flipped it open and he saw a bunch of words. 
Li Xiandao didn't even blink and activated the talent, using his omnipotent ability.
He quickly comprehended the techniques within the book.
Any book that could be called a Heaven Book had to be overpowered.
The Book of War was no exception.
If one cultivated it successfully, one's aura would be like that of an army. The more one fought, the stronger one would get. War songs would also be able to heal one's injuries.
One would be in the perpetual motion of fighting wars!
Li Xiandao's first thought wasn't to cultivate it himself, but to give it to the mini Flame Kings!
There were 10,000 of them and if all of them cultivated it, they would never have to stop fighting!

Time Immemorial Sage loaned 10,000 years in life from the Bank of the Universe in order to break through. After he breaks through, he will pay back 10,000 years. If late, he must pay back 10 times the amount!
Li Xiandao looked at these debts and at the empty Bank of the Universe. He made his mind up to become a true expert, to find all these supreme beings to get back the overdue debts one by one!
A powerless mortal had became the biggest creditor in the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands and even the entire Celestial World!

Su Yu said with a deep voice, "This is where the Book God is tricky! The Book God became a God through the study of books. He is, in fact, actually a book! Across the entire world, as long as there is a book, he can easily and instantly make an avatar with it. Then, his real body is reborn in a very remote place in the form of another book. This is why, despite us being able to push him into situations which he could not have physically left, he still managed to get out safely."
Unless there was only one book left in the Book God's family, he could easily escape with a single thought.
This was also the reason why, despite the Sheng Deity standing guard outside the Cavern World, the Book God could escape without anyone detecting it. He then left behind a bait to lure the Sheng Deity into his trap.
Hearing these words, the Sheng Deity was shocked. "So, would he never die? There are so many books in the world!"
Su Yu shook his head. "No! If he could have cast this method at any time, he would not have been hurt and left behind the Divine Doom. Su Yu squinted. He said: "We are chasing... to the west!"
The First Prince froze. "Go west? His breath is most definitely going towards the east, and it is disappearing fast."
The implication was that the breath of the Book God in the east direction must be the deity, the Book God himself.
Su Yu shook his head and said, "I know him very well. The east direction must not be his real self. His replacement time is shorter than I had expected!"
"However, to be safe, First Prince, go after that breath in the east, and we will search in the west."
The west direction was back towards the Heaven Pool.
The Sheng Deity frowned and said, "Even if the breath of the Book God in the east direction is a deliberate smokescreen, why are you so sure that we should head towards Heaven Pool and not to the south or the north?"
Su Yu said: "It's very simple! You chased him from Heaven Pool all the way here. Only books can be left as substitutes along the way from there to here. There are no books that can be placed in the south or north, so he replaced his real body and fled back to where we came from."
The eyes of the Sheng Deity brightened up with understanding. Su Yu was right and she could not help but praise him: "You really are the nemesis of the Book God."

The group divided into two.
The First Prince swiftly went forward and caught up with the spirit of the Book God in the Eastern direction. The result exactly matched Su Yu's guess.
A book containing the breath and power of the Book God was placed on a god-bone ship, driven by a small demon tribe, and rushed eastward.
The First Prince immediately notified Su Yu by way of the summoning Jade Pendant. At the same time, he turned back and headed for the west, his face full of admiration. "Su Yu is really clever. I think the Book God no longer has a chance to escape."
To the west…
Soon, the eyes of the Sixth Princess flickered, and she was the first to discover the breath and power of the Book God: "Westward, galloping towards Heaven Pool!"
Sure enough, it was so!
After two hours, the Sixth Princess said, "The breath and power of the Book God have stopped."
Everyone rushed over and saw that an abandoned book was gradually disappearing.
"It's him!" The sixth princess stared at Su Yu. Despite everything having been planned well, Su Yu was not fooled by the Book God. Everything turned out exactly as he had said!
Su Yu smiled coldly. "Continue chasing him! He can only escape westward."
Half an hour later, the Sixth Princess detected the fluctuation of the Book God's breath again. "He is trying to escape to the south!"
Su Yu said, "Second Princess, you chase south and force him to replace his real body!"
"Yes!" The Second Princess flew away quickly.
Not long after that, the Second Princess sent a message. She had found the physical body of the Book God, but he fled on the spot and replaced his real body!
Almost at the same time, the Sixth Princess sensed that the breath and power of the Book God reappeared in the western direction: "He is going to escape to the north!"
"Sheng Deity, it's your turn to force him to change his physical body."
The Sheng Deity immediately flew away, and sure enough, she also found the gloomy Book God. He was forced to replace his real body and fled once more.
He returned towards the west.
Su Yu sneered: "He is a very cunning creature; there are most definitely more than three escape routes left by the Book God! However, it should be coming to an end soon!"
The Sixth Princess detected the breath of the Book God again: "This time, he fled south once more."
Su Yu said, "This time I will rely on you. He had replaced himself several times and the distance between him and us is getting shorter and shorter. He has lost all time to replace his physical body by now."
Half an hour later, the breath of the Book God in the south disappeared. For the last time, he was replaced with a real body using a book prepared in the western direction.
Su Yu was too close to him this time. The Book God did not have enough time to wait for the next replacement of his real body.
Finally, one hour later, next to the Heaven Pool, the Book God could no longer escape.
Even though he had left several books in the north and south, there was no time for him to continue to replace his physical body at this moment.
This was much like Su Yu had speculated; every time he replaced his real body, he needed about two hours before he was able to do it again.
"Book God, it's over," Su Yu said lightly. Green light flashed around him, and the Tree Goddess appeared.
The Tree Goddess of today had a combat power that was comparable to the All-Access Merchant God. It would be easy for her to kill off the Book God.
The Book God had overstretched himself and his divine powers were diminishing. He was as pale as paper. "Enough! Is it not enough for you to force me into this?"
"You're not dead, so of course, it is not enough!" Su Yu said with a murderous flare.
The Book God sighed in disappointment. "With your wisdom, if we join hands, we can govern the entire Xing River. Why should we kill off one another?"
"Oh, Book God, you and I are clever enough. Don't use this kind of trick on me," Su Yu interrupted him. "You can't escape your death today! I will only give you two choices; the first one, I will imprison your soul and torture you forever! The second one, I will give you a swift death, but you have to answer one question. "
The Book God did not hesitate to choose the second one, hoping to gain time.
"What's the question?" The Book God was looking around and seemed to be thinking about how to get out of this situation.
Su Yu said coldly, "I want to know all about your relationship with Yun Yazi!"
At the mansion of the Glittering Deity, Su Yu unexpectedly learned that Yun Yazi was actually a Book God!
So, what was the relationship between the Book God and Yun Yazi?

He was still trying to practise the escape technique, even though his speed had been slowed down because of his condensed mental strength. Even if he only progressed by one centimeter a day, Di Jiu would still practise without hesitation, as this concerned his ability to survive.
After three days in the Sky Screen, Di Jiu came across some precious spirit herbs and ores. Apart from taking the time to collect a fourth-level Black Gold Jade, he had not collected any other things. Instead, he had spent all his time studying the mental strength escape technique.
On his seventh day there, Di Jiu stopped. His mental strength escape technique could already reach 150 meters.
The reason he stopped was because he had seen a huge book.
Di Jiu had never seen such a big book before. The book, which was half-open on the ground, looked magnificent.
At the beginning, Di Jiu thought that this was a natural boulder that looked like a book. When he felt the aura of the book though, he immediately discovered that it was a real book.
Di Jiu raised his hand and called out the Tiny Treant. When the Tiny Treant came out, it exclaimed, "That's such a big book! Have we reached the Sky Screen, Big Brother?"
Di Jiu nodded. "Yes, this is the Sky Screen. This book is definitely a top treasure. I am going to refine it. Once I open it, I won't have the time to find any other treasures. You will look for treasure in the meantime. If you hear from Geng Jihua, you will tell him immediately that I am refining this book."
"Yes, Big Brother!" The Tiny Treant rubbed its hands together delightfully. It had been wanting to go out alone for a long time, but the outside world was too terrifying. If it were not careful, it would be taken away to be refined as a weapon or get used as a soup ingredient.

Di Jiu stroked his hair and touched his chin in embarrassment. He'd thought that he had found a treasure. He hadn't expected that the whole world would know that this was the Sky Screen's Book of the World.
This could only be blamed on his limited knowledge about the Sky Screen. Although he had bought two Sky Screen jade slips, they had only mentioned how to get to the Sky Screen and acquire a Sky Screen card.
This was the first time he'd heard about the Book of the World.
"This book must be very valuable, right? Why can't anyone refine it and take it away?" Di Jiu asked in confusion.
He believed that he was not the only person who had seen the impressive potential of this book.
When he heard Di Jiu's question, the gray-clothed cultivator opened his mouth and looked at him for a while. He had finally understood what kind of person Di Jiu was. He was someone who didn't know anything. He wondered how this guy had even entered the Sky Screen.

There were many experts in the world, so there was always someone better out there.
What was even more terrifying was that a pioneer sea realm expert had spent a year trying and had still been unable to refine the Book of the World. Di Jiu was just a Foundation Establishment cultivator, but he had actually thought of refining this book.
"May I ask what the benefits of staying here and trying to understand the Book of the World are, pal?" Di Jiu asked in a sincere tone as he held up a fist.
The gray-clothed cultivator pointed to the book and said, "This book contains the treasured names and wisdom of the whole universe. Once, a Qi cultivator crafted the wisdom elixir of the book by chance. He is now a seventh-stage elixir king. I have been stuck at the sixth-level Foundation Establishment for many years. I wanted to use this opportunity to come to the Sky Screen to gain some wisdom so that I could enter the seventh-level Foundation Establishment Realm."

Di Jiu's thoughts slowly touched the Book of the World and then penetrated it.
A vast expanse of aura rushed over. Di Jiu knew that even though he was very relaxed, he was still really anxious.
Bam! As the vast aura collided with him, blood shot out of his mouth. Before the aura could enter Di Jiu's sea of knowledge, the gray stone in his sea of knowledge formed a circle of ripples and blocked the horrifying aura of the Book of the World.
Di Jiu's mental strength, which was also very condensed, was blocked by the book's vast aura. After he vomited blood, he actually left his mental strength behind in the Book of the World.
The gray-clothed man stared at Di Jiu from a distance and shook his head. Then, he closed his eyes again and began to seek enlightenment.
He realized that his mental strength could never get within three feet of the Book of the World without getting hit by the vast aura of the book. Therefore, the Book of the World could not be refined. If one's mental strength couldn't touch it, then how could one refine it?
An aura that felt like a vast sea of smoke rushed towards Di Jiu, who was shocked to feel the first row of big characters inside the book. "The world, the stars and the universe are vast. The universe may exist in any form, but it is always a composition of matter. Matter is tangible, regardless of whether it is metal, water, fire, earth, wind, snow, hail, darkness, light, time, or space…"
Di Jiu was shocked. This was the first time he had read such a thing. From his point of view, time and space were intangible. Even light and darkness seemed intangible to him…
The beginning of the book had already given him a big shock. Apparently, everything was tangible.
