THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW: I've gotten over the majority of my laziness. I'm unlikely to update this much. It's pretty much complete. The novel I'm working on is Dark Seas Leading Demise

I didn't want to write this. I really didn't. I'm delighted that my loyal readers gave this book a chance anyway even though it's different from what other novels are like out there. But, I am going to cancel this novel or update slowly. I tried very hard to persist by writing more chapters. But I can't. I lost my direction and creative voice.

It's NOT the reader's fault. It's my own. I love and appreciate all the feedback and comments given. Readers are allowed to offer opinions and critiques. I praise those who do. It's very insightful and thoughtful. 

The reason why I chose to give up is for two reasons. I lost my direction, meaning that it's not coming out the way I initially wanted it. The reason why is because I felt that since my story is different, I took a risk, which all authors do. We take risks. 

But unfortunately, I changed and re-wrote this story twice because I tried to make it good. But I didn't follow my initial instinct because I was afraid of what people may think, which is my fault for overthinking in the first place. 

Now, for the second reason. I am comparing this book to my first one. Now, it's challenging to grasp attention as a novice writer with no experience. But my first book, "Daughters of the Elite," FAILED the first time. It flopped. Badly. I went in and re-wrote it. 

NOW, it has a million views, hundreds of comments, and dozens of reviews. I never thought it would reach that audience since it's not contracted. But it did, and I'm happy and thrilled! 

The second time I wrote it, I received collections and votes quickly. I struggled at first, but my audience multiplied, once the word spread. My synopsis grabbed people, and I didn't enter any competitions because I didn't like the fact that people had to pay spirit stones. UGH. The amount of money I spent on this app because of 1000+ chapter novels. 

I hated the spirit stone system, so when I began writing, I wanted my stories to be good and free, but the issues are none of my works are promoted for that reason. 

I didn't gain a cent writing DOTE, but it's OKAY. I write these books for fun, but in the end, I know when to stop if it's not doing well. This book is not doing well at all. Which, again, I am not hurt by it that much, because I have book three that keeps me going. 

Before publishing this book, I received many requests and comments about how people were excited about book two, and I feel like I failed you guys. It's mysterious for sure, with some intrigue. But it's not what people want. 

Book 3, however, is anticipated. Now, I already began writing the book, and there are no struggles with it so far in terms of plot writing. *Hopefully* but I should drop this one. I persisted with DOTE; I failed on this one. I'm sorry. 

This book is about love that is thought to be lost but regained over time. 

NOW! I might complete this novel!!! However, updates will be unpredictable. It could be once every few days, maybe once a week. I am focused on book three. 

I really do like writing this book. But again, not many people like the idea of this one, of course, as you readers being the wonderful exception. 

I will be deleting this chapter in 24 hours so I can proceed with new chapters. But again will be mainly working on book three:

Once at home Laura was still floating on cloud nine.  

“Those were three of the best dates of my life,” she exclaimed, “they were nothing short of amazing.”

Despite having had a wonderful time with each guy, she was no closer to settling on just one.  She tried to imagine what life with each would be like with each one ten years from now.  She lost herself in her fantasies, trying to picture what the future might hold.

First she thought about Don.  Don was the quintessential ladies’ man; he was a magnet that attracted beautiful women.  Even her best friend was not immune.  Abandoning that lifestyle of going to night clubs frequently might be a culture shock and a challenge at first, if they committed to each other.  Once he stopped clubbing as a patron, he might seek a more lucrative, consistent, and engaging profession as a pastime.

Based on what little she knew about him, his only skill sets had to do with the club scene.  She  would encourage him to do what he loved; maybe he would own and operate an exclusive night club in the city.  For them to be successful he would have to be a nightly presence. 

She’d come home from work at one of her three jobs, tired and looking forward to being a homebody with her mate, and he’d be out and about.  She’d  also have to put up with many women hitting on him all the time as a casualty of his work role.

They would hardly get to spend any time together.  They would recycle the same arguments: she pushed him into this career but he embraced it and its perks, especially being too friendly with the ladies, 100%.  

There’s only so much make up sex one could have.  Eventually, the sex would get dull.

Next she considered life with Ricky.  Ricky was already a new partner with his law firm and had serious demands on his time.  When he was not practicing corporate law, he was spearheading pro bono projects and special events, like the concerts, in the community.  

To get access to him she had to go through his assistant or, if she was lucky, she could try texting him.  But unless it was urgent or X rated, there might be a long wait before she got a response.  Going through his assistant to get to him as her employer was one thing.  Having to do the same thing as his girlfriend, partner, significant other or, dare she say, loving wife and mother of his children left a bad taste in her mouth.  

She would want for nothing financially, of course, but Ricky was a workaholic and getting quality time with him would always be a limited commodity on an as needed basis.  What would that look like: a once a week date night; dinner at home with her and his children; showing up for black tie affairs where she was expected to attend, on his arm as a trophy wife, and hanging on his every word?  But would he respond in kind?

She was a professional musician and music instructor.  Would he attend her concerts with the orchestra or the string quartet?  Would she be expected to make him her priority and put her career on hold indefinitely, like some kind of hobby with the needs of his job and his professional opportunities and rewards coming first? 

He seemed like a progressive 21st century kind of guy, but when it came down to it, he was already involved with and committed to practicing law, which was quite a jealous mistress.  Laura would always come second.  

They might fight about it regularly.  Eventually Ricky would spend more and more time dedicated to and at the firm and less and less with Laura until it would seem like he hardly spent any time with her at all.  By this time, she could see them headed for divorce court and they had only had a couple of dates.

Finally she wondered what ten years would be like with Alex.  No slouch in the romance department, life with Alex would have bonuses of quality time and delightful, creative dates, but only when he wasn’t consumed with writing a book or a screenplay.  Red carpet movie premiers only came after months shut away in his home office writing.  Laura thought this might be a lonely, unstable, and empty existence.

He would probably remain faithful to her and finance her needs and wants without question, but life with two artists in the house might lead to stepping on each other’s toes.  He respected her as a cellist, but would he be willing to help out with the house work, cleaning, cooking, and laundry when it was her turn to shine as a first chair with the orchestra, an instructor bringing out the best in her students, or composer for the string quartet ?

With Alex, there was always the possibility that they could collaborate on a few projects that came across his desk as a screenwriter.  He’d provide the words for the actors while she would score the music that functioned as the back drop for the films thanks to all of his cinematic contacts.  

This might be okay in the beginning, but what if her art eclipsed his?  Would he think that she only wanted him for what he could do for her?  Would he eventually think that she was no better than the gold digger actresses that tried to seduce him for whom he knew and did not appreciate, respect, or love him for who he was?  

He might become so quiet and introspective that she’d forget that he was even under the same roof if both of them became busy and consumed with their individual careers.  After vows to love, honor and cherish, would they lead separate lives in private but as a Hollywood “it” couple in the public eye for appearances sake only?  How dismal.

Time to get ready for work.  It wasn’t real.  It was a horribly negative nightmare of worse case scenarios. She dreamed the whole thing, thank goodness.

After a few minutes of reading, Ms. Lei finally looked up at Tayaw in a new light. Noticing that Tayaw must have been standing for a long time while she was reading, she embarrassingly said "Oh, for f*ck's sake, brat. You should have at least asked if you can sit somewhere. Whatever. Drag that monobloc chair over there here, and sit down."
After Tayaw finally sat in front of Ms. Lei's table, Ms. Lei continued to talk to him. "Alright, let me print out a list of the names of the available agents I know personally. You can also state my positive evaluation of your work to these agents. They should at least not ignore you once they hear of my name. I'm also doing you a favor of including the names of the agents I know that are competent and are veterans in the industry." Ms. Lei said as she printed out a piece of paper and passed it to Tayaw. Tayaw accepted it with a smile. This was a huge favor to him by Ms. Lei. From the things he heard, it's really actually hard to make an agent notice a talent, and even harder to even make them interested in working for someone. He heard it talked about many times during his time with the Percussive Corrections. Many of their colleagues and fellow musicians took months, even years looking for agents, only to no avail. Even if one found an agent, it was just a tiny step in starting their careers in the show business. So with Miss Lei giving Tayaw permission to use her name, it will immediately eliminate many difficulties in trying to find an agent.
"I noticed a copyright symbol on the page after your title page. Publishers usually do the copyrighting of the books on their authors' behalf. Did you not know this?" Ms. Lei started chatting with Tayaw. She found Tayaw interesting and wanted to find out more about the young man. Tayaw, meanwhile, was surprised that publishers actually do the copyrighting, but hearing Ms. Lei's positive review of his manuscript, he did not regret copyrighting the fairytales himself.
"I was actually told by a friend, who is also an avid reader, to copyright my work if I'm planning to self-publish. I just don't have the money to publish my book myself." Tayaw replied, making up an imaginary friend.
"Well, a copyright is indeed beneficial. He must have liked your book too, to suggest you to self-publish. I also liked your book, and with its quality and it's immediately digestible originality, there's no telling if someone gets greedy especially the smaller publishing houses." Ms. Lei nodded. She at first scoffed at the copyright symbol in Tayaw's manuscript when she saw it, but when she immersed herself in the stories within, she found that the copyright symbol is indeed a good precaution against people who will have ideas on stealing Tayaw's work.
"Your title page says 'Vol. 1', are you planning to writing more? Or do you already have more stories in stock? " Ms. Lei switched the topic to Tayaw's book. "I do have a few more ideas stuck in my head, I just haven't had the time to write and polish them down." Ms. Lei was surprised at Tayaw's response. The manuscript has around 400 pages, each story having 3 to 5 pages; it means that Tayaw has written at least 30 stories. "You're impressive, young man! You also wrote your book in English. That tells me you're ambitious enough to dream of selling your books internationally. If a publishing firm picks up your book, I suggest you also release a version in our Teungebian language." She was also impressed at Tayaw writing in English. She herself, who loved books and hopped across many jobs in the industry, knew how hard it is translate books into English; much more write books in the language.  
Tayaw, on the other hand, was feeling guiltier and guiltier by each compliment. Yes, he can write well in English, but he knew himself he was not creative enough to write these stories by himself. But what can he do? The only use he can see for the literary works given to him is to publish them and share them to his world. It's not like he's stealing someone's work, right? Those works were given to him.
If it was before, he was afraid of the consequences and maybe even divine punishment of him publishing the works in his head. Now, however, he is confident that the roulette itself wanted him to publish the books it to him because right after Ms. Lei was done reading just a part of his manuscript, the "View Points" in his vision, which stayed at "0" since he it appeared, has changed into "Vision Points : 1". This was no punishment, but a reward. He also want to see how the people, maybe even the whole world, will react at the works he will release in the future, and in the process earn himself a fortune.
"I will, ma'am. I hope to sell internationally as well." Tayaw replied. After a few more minutes of chatting, an employee entered the office. "Well, look at the time, I should get going. I'm sorry for taking up your time. My work also starts in an hour at my job in Cioni." Tayaw, feeling like he already spent enough time at the office, looked for an excuse to leave. "Indeed. I was too absorbed reading your manuscript; I took up your time." Ms. Lei said as she didn't know what else to talk about with the young man. Throughout their conversation, the young man never took the lead when she gave him permission to. "It's actually a pleasure, Ms. Lei. I'm also thankful for sparing me the time. As a token, please keep my manuscript. I can make more copies of it. I hope to give you its book version soon." Tayaw said as he bid farewell to Ms. Lei.
Watching Tayaw leave the office, Ms. Lei had a smile on her face. "What an impressive young man." She said to herself as she opened the manuscript once again. She wants to look for a story she can tell her child later in the evening.
Leaving the building where the Writers' Guild was, he was already planning in his head how he would write the e-mails to the list of agents he received from Ms. Lei. While in the train, he checked his phone if he received any e-mails from agents who saw his postings on the job websites he made in the morning. Seeing no e-mails, he took out the list of agents and copied their e-mail addresses to his phone.
Aside from their names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses, there are no further information about them, so he really had no idea how to pitch himself to each agent. He also cannot gather any more information after he looked them up in the internet with his phone. He can only work with what he has, so to pass the time in the train, he started writing and re-writing his pitch of himself to send to the agents.

Grimm's Fairy Tales of 95,000 words, is a compilation of 50 of my original fairy tales that defies the convention established by our predecessors when it comes to what fairy tales should be. With some of the tales' hidden social commentary for our world, it can also give our children a closer to life sense of reality and how the world works earlier and will prevent them from carrying idealistic principles and unrealistic dreams into adulthood.
Since time immemorial, we heard and saw stories that taught us lessons and gave color to our childhood, and helped reshaped us into the people we grew up to be. I myself can retell from memory some of the stories that my parents and teachers told me as a child. However, as I grew into a young lad and revisited the stories I have been told, it came to me that the tales we grew up with are nothing short of being too fantastical and too simple to pass on to the next generation.
I am currently about to enter as a freshman to Ouigab City's Northwestern university, but I have been writing and polishing the tales I have in my work for five years now. I hope that my skepticism of our currently established fairy tales along with my enthusiasm to change them shows through my stories' settings for you to see.
The first three short stories included in my work are enclosed to this letter, while the completed manuscript is available upon request. Ms. Nelly C. Lei of the Ouigab City's Writers' Guild of Teungeb office also spoke greatly of your experience in the industry.

This is the age old question which cannot be answered scientifically, no proof exists of any continuation after death, whether it's Heaven, Paradise, Shangri-la, or even reincarnation. 

That is until I died. The answers I discovered, the truths I found, was any of it worth it... I don't know, all I know is I lost my everything for those so called answers, and all I got in return was a guide, a so called SYSTEM."

Eva and Topaz worked like this for months, only talking about character designs and how to proceed with the launch date the site requested. They didn't exactly see eye to eye on a lot of things and butted heads frequently. 
That was the problem when two creative people worked together. Different minds had different ideas and expectations. Getting those things to mesh together into a single product could be tricky. 
Topaz became less hostile once Eva approved her background designs without a single complaint. Sometimes they even got sidetracked talking about things not directly pertaining to the comic. 
One day they got into a debate about the best kind of male lead. The one in her novel was a cold and gloomy person around everyone but the female lead. She had always found that sort of thing romantic but Topaz disagreed. 
Eva ended up teasing her about having a crush because of her vehemence about which kind of man was best. The last thing she expected was to hear that she had gotten married to someone she didn't even know. 
Topaz didn't give many details about the situation, which drove her crazy. Hello! She was living out an actual romance comic here! Her single-since-birth soul needed details!
Her curiosity about the kind of person the artist was skyrocketed after that. Who on earth would propose to an entire bar full of strangers? She was a bit worried about her too. What if her husband was a total wacko? 
But as the weeks passed and Topaz continued working on the comic like usual her worry lessened. After that conversation Eva felt like they had taken a step closer to becoming friends so she started messaging her more often simply to chat. 
Most of the time she got ignored but eventually Topaz responded by sending a picture of a mani/pedi and saying it was because her husband gave her $100 and told her to get her nails done. That sounded an awful lot like sugar baby territory and she couldn't stop herself from saying so. 
Topaz said that wasn't possible because they hadn't even kissed, sparking another discussion about her strange relationship with the man she called Citrine. Based on everything her online friend said, the man was obviously deeply in love with her and didn't want to scare her off. 
But she refused to believe it, saying she was simply a substitute for his first love. Eva didn't buy that at all. Men didn't act that way. 
She had never had a steady boyfriend but she had been on an awful lot of terrible dates. Every guy she had ever encountered wanted something from her that she wasn't willing to give without emotional commitment. 
Citrine demanded neither physical affection nor emotional commitment. He was willing to provide for Topaz without demanding anything in return but her presence. That went against everything she knew about the male species. 
This guy had to be deeply in love with her but she refused to believe it. Eva shook her head at the woman's density but there was nothing she could do. Topaz didn't reply to any more of her messages until she got back from her vacation with her husband. 
It was obvious she would have fallen for the guy eventually with how much spoiling was going on so hearing Topaz had a crush on her husband wasn't surprising. Citrine still seemed more like a mythical unicorn than a man but Eva was happy for her friend. 
Happy and jealous. Why did all the good things happen to other women? When was she going to get the chance to properly be in love? 
Maybe she would be stuck alone with her fictional characters and celebrity crushes forever. She could always do what Topaz did and propose to a bar full of strangers in Las Vegas too but chances are she would probably end up murdered in a back alley somewhere. 
It was a miracle that she hadn't ended up with a psycho. Totally romance comic plot armor. Topaz must have been born under a lucky star. 
Eva managed to mostly put the artist's romance out of mind as she continued the mindless drudgery of her daily life and started a new novel. Until some of the writing site's staff reached out to her about participating in a convention in Florida. 
She lived in Georgia, less than eight hours away by car. They would pay her for her time and provide all of the accommodations. That was an offer she couldn't refuse—she had vacation time saved up and wanted to go to Disney World and Universal Studios while she was down there. 
The problem was that they wanted Topaz as well and getting her to cooperate wouldn't be easy. She had no idea where the woman lived other than that it was somewhere in the Mountain Time Zone. 
It would be so much fun if they could actually meet up and spend time together but she still hadn't figured out how to ask when Topaz dropped the bomb that Citrine was actually her first love. Eva honestly didn't know how to respond. 
That conversation was short and unfulfilling. She had the impression her online friend was hiding all of the details that actually mattered. That only made her want to meet the woman in person even more. 
Getting the truth out of her might be easier face to face. She kept her responses limited and didn't push for further information because that usually annoyed Topaz and made her stop replying. 
It was surprising that she agreed to come to the convention but Eva was thrilled. She couldn't wait to meet this mysterious artist and find out more about the crazy life she lived! 
Unfortunately, the convention was still over a month away. And Topaz wouldn't exactly have time to talk with all the line art she had to complete on short notice now. How annoying. 
She sighed, wishing she had a clingy significant other who wanted cuddles while they were sick. That honestly sounded so cute. What she wouldn't give to have someone who loved her that much. 
To distract herself from her depressing singleness she pulled out John Abramson's book on the Bay Area Blade. Eva had gotten her bachelor's degree in psychology hoping to go on to become a criminologist but grad school had seemed too daunting at the time so she ended up working in the call center instead. 
She made a decent living from her novels but knew she would never have time for them if she went back to school now. Maybe someday she would have the time to change careers but in the meantime reading about criminal psychology would have to suffice.

“I’ll marry anyone who will take me!” Hazel declared loudly. “I don’t need love!”

“Get down!” Will hissed. “You don’t know what kind of people are lurking around in here! Talking like that might get you killed!”
