The Award Show was based on Cassidy Wilfried, author famous for her non-fiction novels where she elaborated on numerous obstacles she had to face such as mental health, suicidal preventions, physical and mental abuse, bullying and numerous other hardships that shaped her. It was an annual Award Show that many celebrity names attended, even from different industries, and it was always a success. 

Her palace was ginormous—her husband, Boris Wildfried, has been a national tennis player and known worldwide for being founder and CEO of a company named HeavyWays. It was an online merchandise similar to Amazon, and very successful around the entire world. Everyone that attended the palace was patted, and their invitation letters, which had an imprinted seal, were checked before they were allowed inside the home. The ceremony was in a gigantic magnificent hall, where chandeliers layered the ceiling, decorations covered the walls and hundreds of waiters travelled across the room with trays of wine and champagne for anyone to take. 

Draven H. Malcom had arrived at about eight o'clock. He was well-dressed; a navy suit with a bow tie around his neck, and brown pants that coloured nicely with his suit. His hair was gelled backwards with one strand over his eye, and he fixed his gold watch on his wrist. The moment he stepped down from his vehicle, he was ambushed by reporters. 

"Mr. Malcom, it is the first time you have shown yourself in public ever since the allegation of—" 

"How many times do we have to say, no questions!" 

Cassidy's security guards immediately came to the rescue, forming a pathway for Draven and the rest of his team to follow inside, and he thanked them. 

"Thank god there were security guards out there, I would've punched one of them in the face," Hector grumbled. 

Jason agreed, wrapping his arm around Rebecca's waist protectively, "No kidding. They were shoving too." 

"I'm excited to drink, that's all I care about," Draven admitted when they entered the hall. There was a stage at the front of the hall but it was barely visible from the back. It was humongous, and Draven was greeted by multiple people the moment he entered. 

Hela Monitt, author of The Exquisite Flames, a series of fantasy novels at its fourth book and ongoing. She changed the entire way people view the genre of fantasy, giving her own platform and creativity to the name. She was one of the firsts to greet Draven with such excitement in their tone, "You appear to be doing well!" 

"I am, thanks to my team. How have your writings been going?" 

"Pretty impressive, if I do say so myself. I've had writer's block for the past month, which made me revise other novels instead, and now that my writer's block has miraculously faded, I feel as if my mind wanders continuously." 

Draven engaged in short conversations, grabbing glasses of wine from walking waiters and finishing them rapidly. He had been feeling tense every since the allegations, as if too many eyes were watching him for a mistake that may prove the correct, and Draven believed getting drunk at this party would make him feel free. The team headed their separate ways, all talking to different people, and Draven eventually finishing his seventh glass, finally feeling a bit of wooziness to his mind. 

That was when the award show started. Cassidy Wilfried was the host, and she was applauded before she began introducing each award. Draven was nominated for four awards, the Love Scandal Award, which was the best fiction romantic comic, the Restless Award, the comic or novel that kept readers on their toes, the Spontaneous Award, the comic or novel that was successive from the start, and the Elite Award, comic or novels that are selected as must-reads. 

It was only when the award show started, that Draven's eyes finally found Eric and Kyle near the front. He noticed something was weird, since Kyle attempted to reach for Eric's hand and he pulled away. Then, Kyle leaned in aggressively, and they seemed to be hissing at one another in low whispers before Eric turned around and walked away from him. 

He merely ignored it, and returned his eyes on Cassidy who finally began reading the nominees for the Love Scandal Award. One of the nominees was Kyle Merchi, and merely hearing his name made Draven feel disgust in his mouth. He had nothing but hatred for Kyle, and all he wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine. But Draven kept his composure, and when the winner was announced, which was him, he headed onto the stage. 

He won all four awards, but since there were about twenty-five awards, he had to wait awhile. However, he noticed Eric returned during the readings of nominees, but Kyle was no longer at his previous spot. Eric seemed to be glancing around the room for him, and they made eye contact. Rapidly, Draven looked away and it was only a few seconds later that he looked again and Eric was gone. 

Eric had gone looked for Kyle; he had said some terrible things when Kyle was attempting to be friendly earlier, and he wanted to apologize instead of returning home hostile. That was why he returned from the bathroom, and when he couldn't find Kyle, he went on a search for him. There were doors that lead to the outside garden, and Eric, after roaming around the hall, decided to check outside. 

He followed the trail in between large cherry laurels, and the pathways separated into a few sections to continue along different parts of the garden. He heard voices in one direction, and followed that path. When the voices grew nearer, and he recognized Kyle, he quickened his pace. There was another separation of the trail, and he had to cut a corner this time. 

And when he did, he had not been predicting to witness such scene. 

Kyle had not heard him approaching, and his lips were still passionately placed on Rebecca's, who had her arms wrapped around his neck. She even tightened her grip, biting his bottom lip teasingly and Eric saw Kyle smile warmly against the kiss. It was only when Eric inhaled a sharp breath that he was heard, and both their heads turned to face him.

Eric Valence thought finding a job as an editor for a well-known author named Draven H. Malcolm was the beginning of his writing career. He had no idea that it would also be the beginning of his love story.

"You're so clueless, it bothers me."

He frowned, "What does that mean-"

"You never wondered why I gave you all the best things on my floor - the closest desk, drinks from my office, my newest project. I even went to your house and picked you up to make sure you weren't late."

Eric didn't.

Draven sighed, "The reason I got mad that day..." he paused for a moment, hesitating again but deciding to let it all out, "the reason I got mad is because I heard you kissed Jason, which I wasn't too pleased about but then seeing you and Justin together..."

He never finished his sentence, and Eric raised an eyebrow, "What about Justin and I?"

"I feel like you're doing this on purpose," Draven chuckled, examining Eric's confused face.

"I'm not sure what you're talking about-"

"I like you," Draven said clearly with his entire diaphragm, expression it as loud as he could for Eric to understand.

Eric felt his throat squeeze itself shut, no oxygen coming in or out.

"I like you, a lot more than I thought, Eric," he breathed.

Eric was unable to believe it, shook his head and looked away for moment, before meeting his gaze again. 

"Why me?" he asked quietly.

Draven shrugged his shoulders, eyeing Eric with adoration and admiration, "I'm not sure either, but I want you to be mine."

It is inevitable as it is the rule of the world, the powerful are the nobles and the weakest are the commoners. But there are certain people that maintain the balance of both side, they are the STAR sect. The most powerful sect, they are the symbol fairness and justice. 

The Star sect is divided into two palace: Star Justice and Star Peace.
The Star Justice palace requires youths that believes in justice, they shall seek for true evidence and rely their judgements purely on the evidence. They need to be strong in order to face brutal enemies, smart to find out the enemies scheme and courageous to face each unknown obstacles.

The Star peace palace maintains the order of the world, they seek for equality and equity. Fairness is what maintains the peace, balancing the power is what prevents war. The members must be fair, someone who is not biased to anyone and remains neutral no matter what ciscumstances can happens. Skilled

The members of the palace can only be recruited by passing a trial under the age of 25 but at least 15 years old. The already member of the sect can nominate their children. One member, one child if both of the parents are members they can only nominate 2 children at most. 

There is a mystery happening every year on the trial. The youths with more potential or the one considered black horses, disappears on the thin air with no clues at all. It was first believed that they were murdered by the other participants due to jealousy, but it was soon changed when the disappearance happens every year on the same date and time.

Every 10 years, the Star sect organized an event in order to recruit from the nobles and commoners in the sect. It is a survival show aired whole over the world. Only people below 25 years old can participate. They need to pass certain trials in which will determine if they are qualified to enter the sect and be a member of it. 

Riki's dream is to follow his beliefs that only justice can bring peace to the world, so in order to achieve his dream he participate on the survival to be part of the Star sect. As he was researching what are the tips in order to be chosen as a member when he was 12 he came across a thread on a forum which is entitled "Tips on how to be chosen as member of Star sect only for 30 gold coins". As an innocent child that time he actually paid and read through the thread.

The tips were:
-Be talented and practice a star martial art only for 100 gold coins, for personal consultation please go to the abandoned building behind the Star School Academy.

Riki at that time only thinks on how to attend the sect no matter what happens, 'It only cost 100 gold coins, my parents gives me about 10,000 gold coins per month so it is actually a bargain' he thought as he goes to the abandoned building.

As he walk through the building, he puts on his unplug headset. He believes that by putting it on no one will talk to him.

Suddenly the lights are turned on and a *boom* was heard together with a smoke effect at the center of the building.

"*Cough* *cough* Welcome dear costumer! What are you here for?" Said a weird man dress as a clown. "Oh, a new costumer and a child one. Young man, as long as you pay I can give you any information that you want." He took off his hat, acting like a gentleman he said "Payment, per favore"

Not minding all the effects, Riki took the 100 gold coins he already prepared before from his bag and put on the cap of the man.

"You are quite sensible young man. Now that you have paid, what do you want to know?" Ask the clown man.

"I want to know the tips on how to be a member of the Star sect." Riki said to the man.

"The Star sect I see." The clown man seems to have answered the questions for many times that he already memorize an answer for it. "They will have a survival show in 5 years. No one actually knows that the Star sect only allows does who practice a star martial art to participate the survival show. They share 10 Star martial arts in total through every means that they find, on the previous event they dare to actually put a star martial art on a comic book! 3 years from now, there is a preliminary where they cross out people who don't practice those martial arts." The man put on a sly smile on his face, "If you want to learn a star martial, I have on me Moonstar martial art. You just need to pay 1000 gold coins."

"Okay I buy it." Riki didn't even think twice when the man proposed to sell the martial art.

'A pampered brat' the clown man said to himself as he accept 1000 gold coins from Riki. "Okay, I will teach you for a month about Moonstar martial art. We will have about 3 session a week, I will not repeat a lesson as it will be in your hands if you are fated to learn the martial art or not. By the way, what's your name? You can call me Pier."

"My name is Riki." As soon as he introduced himself, he turn back and go outside the building.

"What a cold pampered boy." The clown suddenly disappeared on spot.

From then on Riki comes to the building every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He earnestly learn about the martial art, he even prepared notebook and ballpen as of attending a class. The once empty notebook was filled with notes and drawings about the martial art. 

"Riki, I thought you were like those cool and cold people. But you are just an introvert person." After saying so, Mr. Pier laughed about it. This is the second week he is teaching Riki. "Teaching you this two weeks was quite a battle, you only talk unless I ask you something. Why do you talk so little, Riki?"

"If I need to talk, I talk. If not, I will not." Riki said as if stating a fact.

"I'm quite curious about this beliefs of yours that justice brings peace. Where did you learn it?" Mr. Pier ask to Riki.

"When I was a child I read a comic about a hero who wants to bring peace on his hometown." Riki briefly said.

"What kind of comic is that? I never thought you read something like that, don't you think that person is a lunatic? Look at our world, even if there is the Star sect maintaining the balance, there is no peace at all between commoners and nobles." Mr. Prier mockingly said. "Riki, I hope you realize that dream of yours."

"I will certainly achieve what I want to achieve, Mr. Pier."

"I already thought all about the Moonstar martial art, I thought I would need a whole month to do so but I never thought that you would achieve the apprentice stage in only about a week. You are the first one who I thought to achieve such things, as a reward I will share an information to you. 3 years from now on August 03, the preliminary start on this building. I expect many things on you Riki" Mr. Pier vanished from where he is leaving only a book in his place entitled 'Burning Star martial art'.

Riki picked up the book and left the building.

Early the next morning, Nick entered the palace and headed towards the kitchen. The kitchen was, contrary to Nick's expectations quite modern. The stoves weren't the stone ones he had seen in those medieval tv shows, instead, they were metal made artifacts that used Spirit stones to release fire.

And the kitchen even had a freezer to keep things cool and fresh that worked on the same principle as the stoves. In fact, it was all just too clean and tidy that it annoyed Nick who was there for an authentic medieval experience.

As Nick was busy inspecting the Kitchen the guard from the previous day rushed in. The guard's name was Luke, twenty-two years old he became a guard because his father wanted him to be, or at least this was what he told Nick yesterday when they chatted in the middle of their tour.

"Head chef, the Emperor requests breakfast!" The guard immediately saluted Nick before he passed down the Emperor's orders.

"You heard him, get to cooking, but make sure to bring it to me for an inspection before you serve it to the Emperor!" Nick who received the orders calmly then passed it down to the other chefs working in the kitchen.

After deligating his work Nick then walked out of the kitchen and began slacking off around the palace. The reason he didn't personally cook it, was because he felt it was a waste of time, why cook it when he could just heat the food others made and turn it into a delicacy.

Then, in the middle of his random stroll, he was surprised to run into little Dean. What was surprising about this situation was that Dean was standing in front of the Emperor's bedroom.

Nick sighed lightly as he shook his head at the little guy. Dean sure didn't know how to talk to the ladies, he was just too young to compare with a pro like him.

Walking up beside the kid, Nick starred in contempt at his little competition, before he opened the door and walked inside.

Inside the bedroom, beside the open window sat a beautiful short-haired girl, who seemed to be enjoying her self so much that she didn't even notice that Nick and Dean were there.

"Hi, there little Emperess!" Nick greeted, making sure he was loud enough to catch her attention.

The woman then calmly turned around and smiled lightly as she spoke in a rough voice, "Who the fuck are you?! Get the fuck out of here before I begin my morning with some ass-whooping!"

Then the lady sat down on a chair as she spread her legs comfortably and began picking her nose

"..." Nick.

"..." Dean.

The lady was acting like a typical gangster as she spoke and kept on staring at them in a questioning manner.

"Sorry that we disturbed you madam. I'm the new head chef of the palace, and I just came here to ask what this lady will be having?" Nick cautiously said.

"Oh, sorry about that, I've been on edge because I've heard about some little pervert that kept on giving love poems to every woman in the palace, apparently he calls himself that Harem king!" The girl explained her earlier behavior.

Dean immediately hid the piece of paper in his hand.

Nick facepalmed, so that was why Dean had been acting strange lately. He had recently thrown away one of the comics he had bought from the system after he finished reading it.

It was a story of a man who wrote poems and mesmerized hundreds of women, and although the comic didn't have anything age-inappropriate, it still ended with the guy marrying a hundred women. From the looks of it, Dean had found the Comic after he had thrown it away, and was now using it as a guide book!

Just thinking about how the random comic book he had thrown out was able to influence someone's life so positively gave Nick a sense of pride and joy.

Then, after admiring Dean for a while, Nick immediately snatched away the piece of paper in the boy's hands and handed it over to the gangster Empress.

The Empress who then read the poem was stunned and began staring at Dean in amazement. She had never expected the famous trending pervert would be just a little boy. 

"Please educate him for me Empress. But don't take it too far, a couple of slaps on the bum will do!" Nick who sold out Dean calmly walked out of the room.

And under Dean's terrified and pleading eyes began closing the door. But midway he was interrupted by the Empress.

"No problem, leave it to me. I had two little brothers so I know how to teach them a good lesson! And by the way, please bring me something light for breakfast, like a grilled boar or a roasted heavenly eagle!" The gangster Empress said.

"Oh, what terrible luck, I officially start work tomorrow, so I won't be working today!" Nick said as he continued his attempt to shut the door. The woman was too fucking crazy. If those could be considered light meals then what was her idea of a heavy one, a large stone statue with ketchup?! 

And there was no way she would now if he was telling the truth since she will be leaving an hour later anyway. But then the gangster-like lady vanished from where she was and grabbed the door.

"But didn't you say that you came here to asked me what I will be having?" The gangster Empress asked solemnly.

"Yes, and you answered, but I never said I'd cook it, I just simply enjoy listening to other people's food orders, is that a crime?" Nick asked back.

"No, but can't you make an exception. I am teaching the boy manners for you after all!" The lady seemed to be slightly angry now.


Nick then turned to look at Dean and was faced by a boy kneeling and pleading at him with teary eyes, but not making a sound for fear of the crazy Empress finding out.

"Sigh, fine then, as long as you teach the boy manners and he stops flirting with every random lady, then I'll personally prepare a meal fit for an Empress such as your self!" Nick promised to sacrifice his precious time, for the betterment of Dean.

"Scfff...Ptew lets shake on it!" The Empress sure was one of a kind as even her way of making deals was gangster, as she spat some phlegm on her hands and reached out for a handshake.

"I'd rather cut off my arm." Nick replied honestly before he turned around and walked off.

"Head chef! It's ready, come to the kitchen quickly!" One of the chefs he had tasked earlier hurriedly ran over and dragged Nick back to the kitchen.

Every chef in the kitchen then placed their plates in front of their work stations for inspection. But contrary to their expectations Nick didn't even glance at their meals as he simply used his blue flames to burn it all.

This made all the chefs anxious, they had spent so much time preparing it and yet the Head chef simply burnt it all? But then, a salivating aroma spread from every cook's works station, apparently, the head chef had turned each one of their works onto an amazing delicacy at the same time!

"The key to an amazing meal is finding the optimal temperature! And just by controlling the temperature, I have improved the meals you cooked by several grades! So work hard and try to understand each ingredient's optimal temperature!" Nick bullshitted in order to avoid being questioned later on.

"Now take the large plate to the Empress, she is in the Emperor's bedroom! Then take the rest to the Emperor, and don't eat it on the way there!" Nick advised before he continued wandering around the palace.

"Hey Luke, do you know where the treasure vault of the palace is?" Nick who found the familiar guard by the hallway asked.

"Umm...that, I don't think I should say..." Luke began to fidget.

"It's alright don't worry, you can tell that my cultivation isn't that high right? How could I possibly rob the vault with my current strength?" Nick reasoned as he attempted to convince the simple guard. And after a couple of minutes of swearing and promising Nick was given the directions to the vault.

Following the instructions, Nick soon arrived in front of the vault and was surprised to find that there was only one guard stationed there unlike the toilet he saw yesterday, which was quite heavily guarded.

"Stop right there head chef! This place is restricted, only the Emperor and the crown prince are granted access!" The lonely guard spoke out.

The guard was incredibly powerful, his cultivation at the peak of the transcendence realm. But Nick wasn't too worried since he only came here today to get a general sense of the security.

So, nodding politely Nick walked back to his residence and had Peter prepare the carriage for a stroll in the city. He wanted to see if he could find any of the materials on his main mission list in the markets and auctions.

But on his way out he overheard a weird conversation going on, at the other side of the large residence.

"So, what do you guys think of the Supreme chocolate?" Maggi asked.

"It's amazing little sis, but it was just too small! If only you had given us more." Nick recognized this voice since it belonged to one of the fatties Maggie had struck the previous day.

"I'm sorry, but one bar of chocolate can only be broken into twenty or so pieces, and so you can understand how hard it was for me to give you two one each! But if you work with me, and you let me strike you once a day in front of Nick, then I promise that you will receive two each from then on!" Maggi proposed.

"Where would this strike take place?" The other fatty from yesterday asked.

"That, it will be on the useless thing between your legs. For some reason, Nick enjoys hitting it!" Maggi proclaimed.

"..." Nick was super depressed, when will someone understand that he didn't do it because he enjoys it, but because he believed it was necessary for some people not to produce little versions of themselves! 

And just as Nick expected he heard the two fatties hobbling away from the little demoness.

A group of thugs ended Nick's first life.

Now, in a foreign world where Immortality and godhood were achievable, he shall strive to reach the Peak of Cultivation!

But wait, he also has the Emperor's System that gives him multiple missions with corresponding rewards. Some missions were difficult, some were easy, and some were...weird.

Wei Zhixin gets up from his so-called "bed" and wears the boots in front of him. He walks around the house and notices that there's no lightbulb, phone, or anything from his time. He walks around, thinking for a while till he puts two and two together.

"Bruh, I think I'm in Ancient China. Wait, how the fuck can I be in Ancient China, time travel doesn't even exist!" Wei Zhixin says out loud as he heads to the main door of his "room" and places his hand on the doorknob.

He opens the door to the house and suddenly hears the buzz from people walking around. Everyone, even men, had long hair and wore the same long Hanfu he was wearing. They had money pouches attached to their clothing and walked along the busy street where many shops were set up and selling all sorts of things.  He was right, he was in Ancient China until suddenly, a figure caught his eye. The man was probably a few inches taller than Wei Zhixin, stood tall with a small grin on his face looking around, and wore a long Hanfu, except it looked much fancier. Sure, he looked like everyone else, but to Wei Zhixin, he seemed way too familiar.

"Young Master Junjie! Over here! We have lots of fresh meat, worth your tasty appetite!" A man calls from a stall which makes Wei Zhixin freeze. He was in the comic book. The one he received from his uncle. Which meant… 

"No fucking wayyyyy! I'm in the comic book! This is Ancient China, but with cultivation! I mean which person in their right mind wouldn't follow their favorite nonexistent characters?!" He exclaims, running outside and joining the large crowd, tailing behind Yang Junjie.

Being sure not to expose himself, he quietly walked around, stopping at a few stalls to keep up the act, and stayed behind Yang Junjie. Yang Junjie, however, kept moving faster and faster through the stalls as if running away from something and took sharp turns which were starting to tire Wei Zhixin out. They had also seemed to get farther and farther from the crowd and into an abandoned alley. Wei Zhixin, who now has no air left, stops in the middle of the alley, bending down to catch his breath. When he looks up, he realizes he lost Yang Junjie.

"Damn it! I had one job, ONE job…" He says taking deep breaths and smacking his head.

Wei Zhixin however, couldn't finish his sentence because a sudden whoosh of air came from behind him, but when he attempted to turn, he found a dagger placed near his throat and someone holding him tightly from behind. One of the person's hand was on the dagger, the other was on his waist, locking his hands in place. Wei Zhixin didn't move, afraid the attacker would slice his throat.

"Who are you and what do you want?" The voice sounded serious and deep, however, Wei Zhixin answers, forgetting to be cautious.

"Actually, I would like to ask you the same thing…" He says struggling to breathe as the dagger comes closer and closer to his throat, "Who the fuck are you, and what the fuck do you want?!"

"You have no right to ask me who I am. Now tell me, who sent you to follow me?" The voice is still calm, but Wei Zhixin realizes that there could only be one person that would ask him why they were being followed. It was Yang Junjie. Wei Zhixin somehow manages to turn his head slightly, and from behind Yang Junjie, Wei Zhixin catches sight of Liu Jia, the lead female of the comic book, who was at a stall buying some vegetables.

If he kills me now, will I die? Like, actually die, even in real life?! Even if I survive, I don't think I'll make it home! And Liu Jia is right there, this where they were supposed to first meet! Everything that happened with them happened AFTER them meeting here! What have I done?!

"Uh, I'm just a villager, I don't work for anyone! Me following you was just a coincidence." He says quickly, hoping Yang Junjie would believe his lie.

"Lies! I'm bringing you back to the palace where you'll await your fate." Yang Junjie announces to him and jumps which sends the two men soaring into the air. Wei Zhixin attempts to wiggle free, however, he realized the grip was too tight, and even if he did manage to get free, he would plummet to the ground. It was instant death no matter what he did.

With the dagger still poised at Wei Zhixin's neck, Yang Junjie jumps from building to building, getting closer and closer to the palace. Soon, the palace comes into sight, and the building is stunning. The entire palace was made from wood, and candlelight escaped the open windows and doors. The doors were decorated all with the same moon print and there were little homes located a few feet away from the palace building. It belonged to the disciplines of the clan, while the rooms connected with the main building belonged to the prince, his brother, and his parents. Yang Junjie lands on the floor in front of the main gate into the palace building with a small thud.

Yang Junjie finally releases the dagger, however, he keeps his hold on Wei Zhixin. Dragging him into the palace building, he suddenly opens the door of the palace and enters with Wei Zhixin. The grandmaster of the Yang Clan was sitting in the huge throne talking to Yang Junjie's brother, and when the doors of the palace opened, they quickly averted their attention to Yang Junjie. Yang Boquin, Yang Junjie's brother, lets a smile crawl upon his face and looks at both men with interest. Yang Junjie brings Wei Zhixin in front of the throne and finally lets go of him. Wei Zhixin wipes his shoulders and fixes his hair.

"So, who's the new guy little brother?" Yang Boquin smirks while lifting one of his eyebrows.

"We're not anything! Nope! No way! I don't even know him!" Wei Zhixin says flustered and becomes a deep shade of red. He was bisexual, however, no one knew this, and it was better if it stayed that way.

"Brother. I caught him following me. I asked who he worked for, but he wouldn't tell me." 

"It's cause I DON'T work for anyone!" Wei Zhixin says, tired of still being misunderstood.

"Liar!" Yang Junjie says loudly with a glare, probably meant for Wei Zhixin to spill his secret, but Wei Zhixin couldn't help but think how hot it was.

"Both of you, stop!" The grandmaster bellows and sends a magic spell that separates the two men into the side of the walls. Yang Buquin squeezes Yang Junjie's shoulder as a message to clam down, and he follows it instantly standing beside him, his hands clenched in fists.

The grandmaster gets up from his throne and fixes his clothes. He carefully walks down the steps and heads over to Wei Zhixin's direction. Wei Zhixin stands taller and looks down, not wanting to have eye contact with the grandmaster who held the power to do, well, anything he desired. The grandmaster stands in front of Wei Zhixin and releases the spell he had cast before.

"You don't have to be afraid, you know. As long as you didn't do anything wrong."

"Grandmaster, really, I wasn't following him. It's all a misunderstanding…" Wei Zhixin says stopping in mid-sentence and looking up at the grandmaster.

"Go on, what is it you have to say?" He says in a soft voice and kind eyes, but Wei Zhixin knew he couldn't be underestimated.

"My name is Wei Liang, courtesy name Wei Zhixin. I wasn't following him, actually, there was someone else following him. I was searching for that person, they looked like they were going to kill Yan- I mean Young Master! I'm really good with the sword, so I was going to defeat the man until I lost him, and then the Young Master caught me for no reason." Wei Zhixin lies smoothly and by the look on the grandmaster's face, he believed it.

"So you have sword skills, don't you Wei Zhixin? How about you show them to me?"

"I would be honored to show you." Wei Zhixin says, thinking, I know how to fence, how hard can using a sword be?

The grandmaster leaves the room and comes back with a corpse dummy and a sword. The corpse dummy was what disciplines used to practice their sword and cultivating skills, however, in this case, it was going to test Wei Zhixin on his "amazing" sword skills. The grandmaster hands Wei Zhixin the sword and Wei Zhixin swings it a few times. It was heavier than a fencing sword but would use the same actions to cause damage. 

"It's not much, we borrowed it from the discipline practice room, however, if you have the skills, it shouldn't affect anything." Yang Buquin explains.

"Young Master, anything is fine for me." Wei Zhixin assures him.

"I'm going to revive the corpse now, are you ready?" The grandmaster calls out after setting the corpse on the other side of the room and getting everyone to the side, including Yang Junjie, whose fists were clenched so hard in his sword that his fists were turning red.

"As ready as I can be." Wei Zhixin says clutching the sword tightly.

The grandmaster possesses the corpse dummy and the dummy comes to life, roaring and running towards Wei Zhixin, who manages to dodge it, but nearly. The dummy regains itself and attacks again, this time hitting Wei Zhixin in the shoulder, leaving a burning sensation that didn't feel good. 

"AH!" Wei Zhixin clutches his shoulder and takes a swing with the sword with only one of his hands as he did so. The sword manages to cut off the corpse's arm and the corpse yells in agony.

If he were fencing, Wei Zhixin would have caused so much more damage, but the weight of the sword was quite a lot. Regardless of that, this first hit makes Wei Zhixin aware he needed more power in order to kill the corpse, so removing his hand from the burn, he lunges and attacks the corpse. The corpse dodges his hit, as Wei Zhixin had suspected, so he spun behind the corpse and stabbed it right through where the heart should be. The corpse yells in agony and falls to the floor, moving no more. Wei Zhixin could feel the burning again, so he drops the sword and presses his arm on the burn to somewhat ease the pain. His breaths are heavy as he tries to pretend the pain isn't there (imagine getting hurt so many times that you can accurately describe how it feels and what you do to deal with it…) The grandmaster removes the corpse from the room and walks towards Wei Zhixin.

"Great job in defeating the corpse. That was one of the strongest corpse dummies we have here, your sword skills are no joke. Do you want to live?"

"Yes, please."

"Then I hereby make you Yang Junjie's bodyguard. You shall protect him as you would protect your own life, if you fail to do so, you shall be the one dying." The grandmaster says with a serious face since this was his son's life he was entrusting into a stranger.

"I promise."

"Alright then. Yang Boquin, lead him to an empty room where he'll live. Yang Junjie, I would like a talk with you."

"Yes, father." Yang Junjie says without taking his eyes off Wei Zhixin's arm which is clutched on the burn. He leaves the room with the grandmaster and Wei Zhixin is left alone with Yang Boquin.

"Let me lead you to your room." He says, walking outside and into a walkway that leads to a hidden place behind the palace where two rooms are located.

"This is Yang Junjie's room to the right. Yours is on the left. My parents and my room is located quite far away since Yang Junjie likes silence when he's practicing cultivation. Go on inside, there's a bed, clothes, and just about everything you'll need. I'll have my brother bring some medicine for the wound. Don't be afraid of my brother, by the way, he just likes keeping to himself." Yang Boquin says with a soft smile that acts as a disease and makes one appear on Wei Zhixin as well.

"Thank you so much for being so nice to me, Young Master!" Wei Zhixin bows down in appreciation at Yang Boquin.

"My brother's life is now in your hands, so I wouldn't want to give you a reason to hurt me. You seem like a nice person too, so I don't think you'll anything, but you can never know. I'll see you tomorrow, have a nice rest." Yang Boquin says smiling and then walks away elegantly.

Wei Zhixin cautiously enters the room to the left and the room is pretty spacious. Clothes are hung up on the side and a small table is located in the middle of the room. The windows had thick curtains and you couldn't see through the door which usual Ancient Chinese rooms would have. However, one thing that surprises him is the sword from the house he woke up in was located on the bed, even though no one put it there!

"It must have been my "magical bond" to the sword. In the comic book, the swords were always bond to the owner and it would follow them anywhere. There's also a lot of spells I have to learn because now I need to protect that little cutie." He whispers to himself.

Suddenly, the door to the room bursts open, scaring the wits out of Wei Zhixin, so he finds shelter behind one of the curtains and hides there. The figure enters in long strides with a small bag clutched in his hands. Wei Zhixin finally recognized the mysterious figure. It was Yang Junjie. Leaving his hiding place, Wei Zhixin goes in front of Yang Junjie.

"What are you doing here?" Wei Zhixin says politely since he guessed Yang Junjie was mad about him being his bodyguard and everything.

"Take off your clothes." Yang Junjie says in a sedate voice.

"Sur- WHAT?!" Wei Zhixin yells in confusion.

"Take them off." He says again, advancing towards Wei Zhixin.

"Why?! What are you going to do to me?!" He yells jumping onto the bed and covering his chest.

"If you won't take them off, " He says, going over to the bed and blocking any exit route for Wei Zhixin, "Then I will."

"Fine, fine…" He says taking off his top, but keeping on the pants. When he slides the shirt down, he finally sees the burn. It's red and the skin there looks baked. Disgusted by the appearance of the wound, Wei Zhixin turns his head in the opposite direction. Yang Junjie sits behind him and opens the pouch which pours out medicine. He grabs some herbs and gently puts it on top of the burn.

"Mph!" Wei Zhixin cries as the medicine hits the scalded skin, grabbing onto the fabric of his pants harder. He struggles to keep his voice down as he didn't want to attract any more attention, "It hurts!" He whispers.

"That's what you get for following me." Yang Junjie says in a voice that triggers Wei Zhixin.

"I'm injured, please don't emotionally scar me! I have to protect you now you know…" He half whispers and half shouts.

"You don't have to." Yang Junjie replies, however, Wei Zhixin feels Yeang Junjie's hand putting the medicine on even more gently than before.

"What if I say I want to? What can you do then?"

"Avoid you at all costs," Yang Junjie says, signaling the end of the conversation.

Yang Junjie finishes putting on the medicine and gets up from the bed with the pouch. Wei Zhixin reaches for his shirt and folds it neatly, putting it under his pillow so he could wear it the next day. He lays down on the bed and watches Yang Junjie leave the room. Slowly, his eyes begin to droop until he falls completely asleep.

Sometime in the middle of the night, Yang Junjie sneaks back into the room. Closing the door silently behind him, he walks over to Wei Zhixin's bed and stands in front of it. He looks at the sleeping Wei Zhixin with a small smile shaped on his lips.

How he looks like a child, He thinks in his head, completely at peace.

He walks over to the bed and recites a spell under his breath. His fingers radiate and a thin blue line of energy travels from his hand into Wei Zhixin and disappears completely. A headband appears on the forehead of both Wei Zhixin and Yang Junjie. The fidelity spell had been completed. Even if Wei Zhixin tried, he could never escape whatever he had gotten himself into.
