Harry Styles and Taylor Swift bump into each other five years later at a party. Will sparks fly or will they ignore each other?

November Winters, who has never been kissed, brings a stranger home on a rainy day. 

The stranger is, needless to say, Harry Styles, an arrogant player with devilish looks.

Tyler asked Hazel a bunch of basic questions about those paintings. How many were there? Were the styles and subjects all roughly the same? Was her real name attached to the Etsy store?
He ended up coming to the same conclusion she had. It was almost as if someone had purposely bought all of her paintings despite their differences simply because they were hers. Which made absolutely no sense.
What rich person would waste so much money on a no-name artist over the course of five years? What on earth had gone through their head? 
When everyone else joined them in the back room for the catered lunch, Tyler asked for a second opinion because he was as stumped as Hazel was. They were all baffled too. 
Heather was the only other artist present but she knew almost nothing about the professional art world because she had taught herself how to draw with the goal of becoming a comic artist. She had created her own comics before and submitted them on fan-run sites. That was how Xander found her. 
Eva was the most concerned. "Hazel, if I didn't know any better I would say someone is stalking you. Are you positive your name wasn't affiliated with it at all?"
"Well my signature is in the bottom right corner of each piece but you can't really read it," she admitted. 
This discussion was making her feel worse. As far as she was aware, there was only one person who had ever stalked her and that was the private investigator Will hired to find her. But he said that had been only a couple of years ago. Those paintings had started selling long before then. 
Buying up all of her paintings simply because they were hers did sound like something Will would do…but that raised a few questions. Like how he had known the paintings were hers in the first place. Or had enough money to buy them all before making it big. 
Hazel didn't want to believe he had lied to her but who else would possibly buy every single one of her paintings? It was also suspicious that the gallery was in the same city he worked in. 
Will said he had made some sound investments with the money his mentor left him. Had Gallery 47 been one of them?
When did his mentor die anyway? He never clarified that. If he had the money way back then, why wouldn't he have tried to find her sooner? If he really was the owner of all those paintings, everything he told her about meeting her again hadn't been true. There were too many holes in the story that way. 
"I think you're all overreacting," Xander said matter-of-factly. "Think about it. There are so many people who collect things in the world. Some people collect old books or figurines. If somebody liked Hazel's early art enough wouldn't it make sense they would want the whole set?"
He had a point too. People could be weirdly OCD about certain things. Hazel would rather believe some random person with money to burn had taken a liking to her paintings than suspect the man she loved of having some ulterior motive. 
Will loved her. That was the one thing in this world she knew without a shadow of a doubt. Did any inconsistency about his past really matter now that they were together again? 
The conversation was dropped because it was nearly time for the panel to start. Everyone followed Paulina and Tracy into the room where the long table was set up with all of their name cards. 
Hazel sat down between Eva and Heather behind the name card that read "Hazel Sheffield aka lilmisstopaz" with "artist, Accidental Princess" underneath it in smaller letters. People were already filing into the room and sitting down, chatting among themselves or staring at the people sitting at the panelists' table. 
Eva was soaking up all the attention and waving at people left and right. Heather seemed pretty jazzed too. Tyler on the other hand, on the far end of the table, looked like he was going to be sick. 
Her heart went out to him. She was battling with nerves too, having never done anything like this before. Even group presentations in college had never been in front of this many people. 
During lunch Will had texted her to wish her luck since she had told him what time the panel was this morning. She tried clinging to the fact that he was rooting for her from over two thousand miles away to calm herself. 
He believed in her. All she had to do was believe in herself and answer some simple questions. 
Paulina, the facilitator of the panel, began at 1:30 PM sharp welcoming everyone and thanking them for coming. She gave a plug for the site before introducing everyone. As expected. This was their way to trying to boost readership. 
"…today we have three groups of talented people here to talk about how an online novel gets turned into a comic. Please join me in welcoming the masterminds behind Accidental Princess, The Last Dragon, and Mr. Extra Ordinary!" Paulina finished. 
Applause and catcalls filled the room and Hazel was already overwhelmed. These people were cheering for her, at least partially. Unbelievable. 
The authors started off with how they had chosen their artists. Elise went first, getting a few laughs when she admitted that she totally panicked with too many choices and her cousin had to bail her out. She was certain to clarify that once she saw samples of Tyler's work that she had fallen in love with his art style and thought it was perfect for her novel. 
Xander told everyone how he had scouted Heather from an original comic she was working on with sporadic updates. A few people in the room had actually read that comic and cheered when it was mentioned. 
When Eva was up, she talked about finding Hazel's fan art commission long before her novel was slated to become a comic and instantly thinking it would express her characters perfectly. Two people in the audience cheered at that. 
Hazel was astounded. Did they follow her blog? Had they commissioned fan art from her in the past? This was surreal.

“I’ll marry anyone who will take me!” Hazel declared loudly. “I don’t need love!”

“Get down!” Will hissed. “You don’t know what kind of people are lurking around in here! Talking like that might get you killed!”

Hazel Dixon thought she was putting her troubled past behind her. But when the person she thought she trusted most betrays her, she loses her head and proposes to an entire bar full of strangers.

A couple of weeks ago, Webtoon had a Canvas week celebrating its more underrated webcomics. And considering that I've been really really late on that and February is just around the corner, I thought what better way to show off my appreciation for the canvas' by getting a massive spotlight celebrating ten great webtoons. To make sure that all of these reviews aren't too long, I'll keep them simple. With that out of the way, let's begin.


Spotlight #20: Mushroom Movie by Potato-chop


I've tried to stay away from comedy webtoons since comedies in it of itself is subjective and hard to describe. Overall, Mushroom Movie is a collection of incredibly short and punny stories following a bunch of cute, lovable shrooms. What separates it from lots of other webtoons is that it updates nearly every single day and has consistently done it for over three years, so there is a lot to enjoy. Plus it has a book.


Spotlight #21: Power Pills by bookfangeek


Power pills are, in many ways, could be seen as an anthology series as we see a bunch of young adults each gets mysteriously given special abilities through one out of 8 mysterious pills that they all take in one form and another. As they learn to balance both their powers and their lives together, they soon learn that they're not as alone as they thought. So far, three have been discovered with more along the way. I appreciate a story that takes a while to simmer, and so far, it's built much of its world and characters in an organic way, can't wait for more.

Spotlight # 22: My Indian Chickk by Krossdraws
Even with all the singles in my audience, I think there is at least something to enjoy from the small and relatable adventures of an Indian couple. If you read My Giant Nerd Boyfriend, then you've seen this, but it' still worth the read. 


Spotlight #23: Facts and Facterinos by Sharkzy


A simple story filled with fun facts about various topics, not much to add or subtract from this.


Spotlight #24: I like Lycan by Cheese-wen


Follow the fun, and I guess (real-life) adventures of Lycan and Cheese throughout their daily lives. While Cheese is your average girl, Lycan often has a wild side that gets the better of him.  The story is pretty cool, and I can appreciate a lot of its WTF chapters while still trying to tell the simple stuff.


Spotlight # 25:My pet succubus by Carlos G.


Okay, all jokes aside on the title Pet is a joy to read. Using the power of black magic, a very voluptuous witch named Natasha summons an ironically innocent demon called Giselle. Again I don't have much to say except that it is a very funny and unexpected webtoon with a growing cast of charming characters. For every wtf chapter, there is a genuinely heartwarming and self-aware chapter that makes a fun read. The author has dealt with a lot of mental health issues and the writer's block throughtout the series, so I hope he is alright.


Spotlight# 26: Lily and Marigold by Jin Zhan.


The perfect combination of fantasy and slice of life we follow a bunch of fantasy girls and gals as they live in the Sun Flower townhouse with their variety of friends. Overall with so many characters, there's got to be someone you like as there are fun interactions to be had. This is one of the best art styles on the list, as it's very anime-inspired. The various fantasy elements create a very varied story with lots to explore. I will touch on its spin-offs another day since their casts are much smaller. Either way, if you like comedy, ninjas, demons, and androids, then this is for you.  There are also a couple of spinoffs I can speak of later. 


Spotlight#27: Mondo Mango by TheKao


The real-life chibi adventures of relatable artist Kao. His excitable nature, height complex, and constant hard work make for a very enjoyable binge.


Spotlight 28#: Cinnamon Roll by ReMe


Another top contender for the best art style of the list tender highschool heartthrob Hirose Satu is hopelessly in love with his crush Rin Ozawa. And while she frequently shot down, their bond grows stronger by the day. The jokes always hit hard, and the story is going down a more serialized and emotional road right now, so there is much more to tell at a later date.  While I'm not a fan of the whole obsessive lover trope this is one of the few times that it works. 


Spotlight 29#: Sarah Scribbles by Sarah Andersen


If I could put mood into a comic, this is exactly what it looks like. This pretty is all about the most random and strange thoughts we have a species rolled up into a fun story for all. It is witty; it is emotional; it is Sarah's Scribbles.


Spotlight 30#: my name is death by Rumbo


Follow Death as he goes everywhere and everywhen to wreak havoc, take lives and spit a joke or 2. It has a lot of dark messed up humor but also has a lot of sweet moments that make you question the purpose of life. One of the few supporting characters in the series, a guy by the name of Frank, gives us a lot of perspectives as he ironically lives through Death's intervention. It goes to show death is not bad or good, only equal.  It makes you think and makes you laugh.

And that is it. I hope you all enjoyed the list and support these creators. They deserve it for making a career that is not the most liquid. I hope you all enjoyed the spotlights, and I hope you stick around as the next couple of spotlights are going to be far more: lovely.

Just a simple person is trying to shine a little light on the beautiful world of webtoon. With a splash of sarcasm, narration, and spitfire along the way.  And who knows I might have other segments just for the hell of it.

Yes, I am going to write this sort of like a diary because I guess this can count as one except for the fact that anyone can just click on and read it. Sounds weird when you first think about it but hey I've got nothing to lose anyway. I guess this morning my mind has been working on creating a series of imaginary families. Not for myself but my favorite anime and comic characters. I am a huge anime fan and comic reader and as unusual as it might sound I find that whenever I listen to music I imagine different scenarios for the most recent thing I've read or watch. This morning I woke up and my mind was just flooding with ideas for the comic "unordinary" on the app Webtoon (If you don't know what that is you need to go and check it out-it's the best, My profile icon is one of the main characters named Seraphina and you just really need to go read it). So I find myself imagining that the other main character named John, don't worry I won't spoil anything for the comic, anyway I would imagine him having a twin sister named Jessica that he calls Jessy for short and that she would be sort of like his other half that helps keep him in check and is the one person that whenever he's blocking everyone else out she's the only one who can get through to him. So today I was listening to the song "Nothing's stopping me now" by Vicetone ft. Kat Nestel and as the song played I imagined the two of them having a series of adventures where they would skip school, tell off bullies, and just build up their sibling bond from childhood till their teens as they wouldn't let anything tare them apart. I don't know where this idea of him having a sister came from but I like to imagine it whenever a good song plays and I sometimes even add a brother that I have not come up with a name for I know like what. But yeah I would sometimes imagine John with a twin or a boy in a group of triplets. In the actual comic John is an only child and the more I read I liked to imagine how things would have unfolded if he had a sibling to talk to. I don't want to go on about the stories plot cause I have no right to do that and I love the story myself so I would like if interested for others to find and read it themselves even if your not a huge story person the drawings are to die for especially as they improve from update to update. I would also imagine the three of them in music videos (I don't know why) it's just that I like imagining them in different styles as I would have them singing and dancing around in accordance to the song I'm listening too. I just really enjoy doing that I guess and yeah Imma end it here now since my mind is at a blank right now so yeah bye-bye.

To be surrounded by power-hungry individuals who see you as nothing more than a money bag? Not being able to love as she chooses? 

Doesn't sound so perfect now does it, but no one would believe her if she were to tell them. Jessica was probably close to falling off the edge into a cold world when a chance encounter will lead her down a path of self-discovery. "My deepest apologies, are you alright?"
