Once upon a time there was a man named Richard. He was beaten to death by a crab and a snake. And what came next, you will learn in this book.

 The moment Trex let go of the line that is pointing at the joystick looking glyph. Green smoke formed on his left hand. 
From his pinky to his thumb, a total of ten circles with different glyphs appeared just under the tip of each finger. Behind his left hand appeared another sign, however it looked more like a brand logo than something mystical. It was a green square with a 3D looking yellow flame. 
Suddenly the room's color shifted to green, and a yellow spinning icon appeared on top of the crystal. Then, as if casting a spell, the spinning icon enlarged with runes, imploded and the same square with a yellow flame appeared.

/"Reading game… Spellworm… Launch?"/ 
In his left hand appeared a red 'X' while the right one had a green 'O.' Trex immediately understood what it was but was unaware of what exactly he needs to do. As an experiment, he used his index finger and tapped the 'O.' A sensation unexpectedly felt by Trex as if he touched something solid, however, it quickly disappeared as if the solid popped like a balloon. 
Suddenly, a worm slithered in front of Trex. Quickly, in every turn and curves it took, the worm elongated until it formed the word Spellworm. 
To Trex, he found this level of 3D immersion was similar to mixed reality games found in his previous world. Except he did not have to wear glasses, contacts, or gloves. Even the haptic feedback was unprecedented for a mixed reality game. 
After a short pause, two buttons appeared close to Trex where it is convenient to reach.

It was so basic. The graphics and control technology were miles ahead of his previous world, but the user experience and quality of life reflects the days during the Atari era. 
Within him, criticism of the products arose. Trex could feel Jonathan disdaining the lame and boring buttons in contrast to the realistic 3D graphics of the intro. 
*Plock* 
With a tap, the game commenced, and the room dimmed. Slowly, the ceiling lights went off which surprised Trex, and a small pad appeared in front of him. 
A worm dressed in a black robe and a pointy hat appeared right in front of him. On top of the worm's head appeared a text box. 
/"My name is Vurm and you're gonna help me fight against the evil that is Ihgel. Using the pad in front of you, find the right sequence of a spell that could potentially help me fend off his minions. Goodluck! "/ 
Trex realized something, there were no audio nor were there any knobs or options to enable it.  
Fortunately, this was just an educational game for arcanists. With that in mind, Trex focused on the moving worm in front of him. 
Realistically, a meter away from the worm spawned a slime. In its head showed 'Weakness: Fire.' 
Looking at his pad, glyphs appeared. Due to the memory and soul wipe, Trex had no inheritance that came from his current body. Thus, he had no idea what exactly the glyphs do. 
Fortunately, the glyphs had colors. Red, yellow, green, blue. Safe to say that red is fire, blue is water, yellow is air and green is earth, right? Trex thought. 
With that in mind, he tapped a glyph that was a square with a dot in each side and another in the center. 
Underneath the worm, a red triangle appeared, and one point reflected the rune that Trex tapped. 
Understanding what was required, he tapped two other glyphs which quickly appeared on the triangle. A new button appeared below the pad that says "cast." 
A speech bubble appeared on top of Vurm. 
/"Flame bolt "/ 
From Vurm's mouth, a small cylindrical flame shot out towards the slime. A red bar appeared on top of its head which shrunk as the bolt hit. 
The glyphs that Trex tapped disappeared and was replaced by new ones. 
This time, he tapped four glyphs and immediately casted. 
The spell circle that appeared under Vurm suddenly turned square. As the spell circle imploded, the fourth glyph, a square with a diagonal line and two dots like a square yin-yang appeared on Vurm's skin. 
A red bar appeared on top of Vurm's head which shrunk by a one-thirds while Vurm the worm shook in pain. 
/ Backlash! / 
A banner appeared on top of the pad. Trex did not understand what happened. As if sensing his confusion, the banner refreshed. 
/ Runic sequence is invalid and will cause a backlash, please refer to the complimentary book for help. / 
Trex was surprised. A book? Bringing up the lights, he began to scour the room for the book. 
In the drawer, he found a book called 'Spellworm: Educational Book.' 
An incredible sense of closeness made his heart tremble. He still did not know how he came to be, but he at least realize that it had something to do with magic.  
Taking the book in his palms, he began to read.

Spellworm's Grimoire: Vurm's Notes 
Perusing the childishly adorned book in his hands, Trex began to learn a simplified method of spell casting. 
The more he read, the weirder he felt. 
In constructing a spell, he needs a few things. First is the loop, starting from triangle all the way to infinity. The number of points that the loop has, the more runes it could hold. 
Second are runes. A rune is a set of rules, depending on its shape, color, size or opacity, the rune can be softly altered for varied effects. 
Third is the container, commonly seen as a circle that encompasses the loop and the runes. Once the three are built, a spell circle is formed. 
Fourth is the medium. For spell casters, it could be their hands, tattoos, talismans or basically anything where a spell circle could be drawn physically. 
Fifth is the energy which, and from what Trex has seen so far, refers to the omnipotent energy in the atmosphere also known as mana or arcane energy. 
Once enough mana is injected, the physical spell circle will begin to manifest its arcanic form. 
Depending on which medium used, the arcanic form of the spell circles usually appear wherever the caster wants the spell to spawn. 
From Trex's understanding, with the caster as the input, mana is the source, spell circle is the program, the loop is the main function while the runes are customized functions. Lastly, the medium is the output that relays the app to the user. 
After the introduction of spells came Vurm's introduction and background story. 
Due to the educational nature of the game, the tale of Vurm and Ihgel revolves around their inevitable confrontation.  
For a game story, it was as linear as it gets. As for the gameplay, suffice to say it was remarkably similar to word games back in his original world. One might even say similar to a worm with a penchant for books.

Born in a different universe, Trex, a former computer operating system/artificial intelligence, woke up to find himself in a world that revolves around the energy called mana. 

In a late 20th century that has a European flair, Trex opens up a store similar to the early 21st century arcade that was filled with games. Remembering how his last master's wishes were before he perished, he aims to create a virtual world beyond what the reality could provide.

Unfortunately for him, in a society where individuals are seen as more important than an entire city, the cultural difference made a simple wish turn into something even more.

Outside the walls, Adam was already walking toward the desert. He had only begun his trip, and the journey would be long, so he had no time to lose.


The Mirage Desert was the biggest desert in the world, and it would take him the whole day to even get to the closest city. Of course, there would be a few oasis on the way, but he didn't want to waste time so he wouldn't stop at any of them if he didn't need to.


Once Adam reached the desert, he looked back toward the distant Neve Dorei, and checking no one was there, he took a step in the sand. At the same time, he finally checked what he had gotten from the bosses and the event itself.


What first came to his eyes was the skill book, a B Rank Skill he had gotten because he ranked first in contribution. Without any further ado, he took the book in hand, and inspected it.


Great Ice Breath (B): Breath out a wind so cold everything it touches is turned into ice. Deals 140% of frost damage to every opponent within 5 meters. Surfaces hit by the cold breath become slippery. Cooldown: 30 minutes.


Adam took this as an enhanced version of the Ice Breath, the equivalent of the Fire Breath he got on Arda's Amulet in the past. This would become a powerful skill in the future.


Adam learned the skill, and as the skill books turned into ashes he turned back to his inventory. Multiple equipments and resources had dropped from the bosses, as well as several potions.


Among everything he had picked, three pieces of equipment really stood out, and interested him.


[Corroded Staff of the Undead] (Unique, Level 80)


Requirements: Mage Class, 800 Intelligence, 800 Wisdom.


Intelligence, Wisdom: +5000


Agility, Strength, Endurance: +3000


Death Empowerment: Drain the power from a nearby corpse to boost your or one of your allies' strength. Cooldown: 10 minutes.


Death Swamp: Turns the surrounding 50 meters into a swamp of death. Deal 100% of your normal damage to all enemies in the swamp, and reduces their Agility by 50%. Cooldown: 1 Hour.



[Mace of the Merciful Paladin] (Exceptional, Level 70)


Requirements: 300 Strength, 200 Intelligence, Physical Class


Attack: +11000


Strength: +2400


Wisdom, Endurance: +1200


Merciful Light: Brings down a holy light around the caster, healing allies and burning enemies. Damage and healing are at 100% of the caster's Wisdom. Cooldown: 30 minutes.


Blessing of the Light: All targets have their Strength boosted by 20%. Up to five targets. Cooldown: 10 minutes.



[Moonstone Boots] (Unique, Level 100)


Requirements: 1000 Strength, 1000 Agility, Physical Class


Strength: +7000


Agility: +7000


Grace of the Moon: Ignore gravity for ten seconds. Cooldown: 10 minutes.


Moon Presence: Make an illusory moon appear above you. None of your enemies shall hide under the moonlight. Cooldown: 1 Hour.


He had been quite lucky, getting two Unique Equipments. Well, the Corroded Staff of the Undead was to be expected, after all he had killed a Chosen Elder, but the Moonstone Boots were really a lucky pick.


Moreover, he would have to give the Staff to someone, or sell it, but he would be able to use the Boots in the future.


But as he looked at the Mace he got, he felt somewhat bad, Holdir had been a brave warrior. He took it out of his inventory to take a good look at it, but was surprised by the notification he got.


[Ding! New Quest detected, 'Lost Legacy'!]


Quest Detail: You have found the weapon left by a powerful expert, whose disappearance has left his clan in turmoil.


Quest Level: 70


Quest Difficulty: B


Objective: Bring this mace to the clan of Holdir the Merciful Paladin.


Reward: ??


The B Difficulty was intriguing, but Adam decided he would complete this quest after he gets his armor made.


While Adam was examining the mace, Neith, whom he had summoned, stopped for a moment, and sand rose in the air.


Adam put the mace back in his inventory and looked down. Neith had impaled a five meters long worm with one of her legs, and it was wriggling under her, trying to escape underground.


Neith said mentally 'It's blood is venomous, but it's nothing compared to my own venom.' Adam smiled and inspected the worm.


[Desert Worm] (Elite, Level 70)


HP: 30000/50000


Neith was about to finish it, but Adam told her 'Don't, I want to see something.'


Neith nodded and stopped herself. Meanwhile, Adam punched toward the worm. A fist of blue light exited his fist, and struck the worm.


-22000 HP!


Just now, all Adam had done was to use [Mighty Strike] on his fist, and also apply [Flying Slash]. As it turned out, he didn't necessarily had to use his sword to attack at distance, any of his basic attacks could now strike at a distance.


Moreover, the damage was quite good, partly due to his new title. He patted Neith and asked her 'Are you interested by this skill? I could try to teach you.'


Neith snorted 'I don't need it, I can just do that.' She threw the worm in the air, and as it was about to land ten meters away a spear of sand appeared under it, impaling the worm and killing it on the spot.


This surprised Adam who said 'I thought your skill allowed you to create earth spear, not sand.' Neith replied 'I'm not restrained to earth or sand, as long as it is related to earth then I can use it. If we were on a mountain then it would be a rock spear.'


Adam asked 'Do they differ in power?' Neith replied 'They don't. My Aura make them as strong as each other. So I don't need your skill to strike from a distance, this is more than enough.'


Adam asked 'What if the enemy is above?' Just as he said that another sand spear appeared before them, but this one was much bigger than the last one. Moreover, it left the ground and flew in the air, going more than twenty meters in the air before dissipating. Adam nodded and said 'I'll shut up.'


Adam was feeling quite hot because of his armor, but he still took this opportunity to meditate and look at the final reward he got from this battle, the information put in his mind by the God of War.


When he decided to unlock the knowledge hidden in his mind, he suddenly felt a mild headache, due to how much information he got all of a sudden. This was quite shocking as his soul was more powerful than other humans, and so if a normal person had received this the pain would be much more.


But even more shocking was, how could something in game provoke a headache? Just what was this game?


Adam focused back on what had been inserted in his mind, and he was shocked by what he saw. Information about cultivation had appeared in his mind, lots of it, along with a message.


'My mother saw potential in you, and I must say today's battle was quite impressive, so I decided to make you my champion. Also, it was rude of my to read your memories, but I had to if I wanted to give you a good gift. As it seems, cultivation in your world is different from ours, and your need cultivation techniques. I would have gladly given you one, but there is no better method than the ones we create, so I have you the knowledge to create your own technique. Good luck on your journey, and grow strong, Adam Collins.'


Wh… What… What the fuck?!

Reincarnation always seem to go well, so what would happen in the case of a reverse reincarnation?

If you are curious, then come along for this adventure in which Adam, a young man desperate for money, will find himself with the memories of a 50 years old martial artist.

"Ah before you guys go" I pull out 7 small figurines that look vaguely like the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Each one were about 3 inches tall and holding a broomstick. Harry's was holding a Nimbus 2000 "If you could all take one of these figures and get your teammates to cast the levitation charm on the one that looks like themselves. Make sure you DON'T break them in anyway!"

"Ok but why?" Asked Harry.

"I am working on a small set of charm work. This figures will copy your magical signature then during the game they will move like you do on a mini quidditch pitch I made. I already got" Coerced "my team to do it to their figures."

"Is this supposed"

"To help you cheat?"

I shake my heads at the twins "No, it is just some extra credit work I am making for Flitwick. I haven't been able to charm the balls though since if I tried to people would accuse me of tampering."

The twins shrug and cast a spell on their figures as does Harry "Just make sure I get those figures BEFORE the game. I would like to hand them to Flitwick so he can watch and see if they match up correctly while we play"

"Sure thing Loki."

"We'll tell them"

"It is an assignment"

"From Flitwick and they shouldn't"

"Ask more about it"

Before the game I get the figures back and I put them on my mini pitch "Envy can you take this up to Flitwick in the stands?"

"Yes Master"

"Good. Let him know to tap the chest" I point to the chest in the center of the small pitch "With his wand to activate it. Ok?"

"Yep yep take this to small man and tell small man tap small box with stick got it" Envy still has the mind of a child, I find it cute. I decide to reward Envy with a snicker doodle and Envy happily noms on it before flying off with the box the mini pitch is in.

"Alright" Madam Hooch said "I want a nice, fair game" She looked towards our captain Marcus Flint "Now mount your brooms" We doo and we take off into the air. She releases the bludgers and the snitch "Begin" She tosses the quaffle up. It was a scramble but Theo managed to snatch it before the Gryffindors.

I follow along but Bucky makes him pass it over to himself so he can make the shot. He made the shot but it was knocked back by wood. I caught the quaffle and throw it throw the hoop furthest from Wood and 10 points to slytherin.

Games going good. Theo made a goal and I made another. Angelina from Gryffindor made a goal as well. Then Bucky began to mess things up. He took the beater bat and smacked the bludger at Wood who fell to the ground. Then he ordered the two beaters to knock Katie Bell, who had the Quaffle, down into the stands taking her out.

I fly up to flint "Damn it Bucky. What the hell are you doing?"

"Ey, I am winning us da game" He says showing off all those nasty teeth

"No, you are obviously cheating. If this was a professional match you would have been kicked out already."

"Hmph instead of lecturin me maybe you should watch your brother" I growl then I shift focus to Harry. His broom was going crazy.  I rush over to Harry and I put my arm around him making him brace against me as I pull him off the broom that continues to buck but then it falls, but I used wandless magic to make it fly into my free hand.

Then my broom began to buck about. I growl hatefully. Someone is messing with MY broomstick. MINE!I thrust Harry's broom back in his hand "Move it" He puts the broom between his legs and takes off. "Keep moving about" 

I reach down grabbing my broom stick focusing my magic into it "You will obey me!" I tighten my grip my magic flowing through my hands and entering directly into the wood "You will obey or you will break!" The bucking began to level out as the wood under my palm creaked from the pressure. Then it stabilized. A few seconds later a shout rings out so I look towards it to find someone set Snapes robes on fire.

It wasn't long after that the game ended, Theo scored two more goals, I mean there wasn't anyone to block him, but Harry caught the snitch. Ending the match as 160-50.

I fly down to the pitch and I check out my broom. There was now indention's from my rough squeezing visible on the wood. "Damn it."

The Gryffindor team were celebrating. I walked over to wood, who stayed to watch the game rather than see the nurse. "Good game Wood. Though you weren't in half of it" I hold out my hand.

He looks at my hand and shakes it "We might not have won if you took advantage of my injury or Harry's danger. Thanks for saving him by the way."

"Well he is my brother. I wouldn't even let the Quidditch World Cup stop me from helping him when he is in danger" He smiles then heads off to his team and I head to mine. In the locker rooms where my attitude shifted.

I cast a locking charm on the door and then the Muffliato charm around the room so anyone outside the room would only hear buzzing. Envy phases into the room and then turns into a full sized Acromantula who hisses and clicks at the team making the cower. Then shoots webbing at the two beaters and Marcus before dragging them towards myself.

"Now before I begin. Theo, Pucey, Higgs and Bletchley you all did good out there. Theo you gained us three goals. Adrian you may not have gotten a shot in but you managed to steal the Quaffle from the Gryffindors a few times. Bletchley you managed to block two of Gryffindors three shots so congratulations. Higgs you did your job and watched the snitch, though we didn't get it you still managed to come close if Harry didn't pull that stunt you may as well caught it"

Theo smiles and nods but the other three just nod slightly while shifting their gaze back to Envy who was still threatening the other three. "As for you three" My tone becomes emotionless as I adress the other three. "Are you out of your damn minds?!" 

I step up to Envy, my shadow growing larger behind me raising up the wall, twisting, and turning and making the forms of various horrifying creatures. This was a part of the Shadow Magics Merlin left me. I am not using anything harsh just making the shadows enlarge and form shapes. It doesn't have any ill effects so far except terrifying people.

"You do realize what you all did was against the rules. If you ever thought of getting on a professional team well it won't happen. No one will hire those that openly commit fouls. How many of you in here would like to play professional Quidditch." Terrance, Adrian, and one of the two beaters say they do.

"Well I suggest looking up the rules and guidelines to see what you are and AREN'T allowed to do. Now I am not going to exact punishment from you three. You know why? It's because you three made my image look better." They looked confused "I did say I wanted to be the 'Misplaced Slytherin' well because of your cheating you once again showed people that Slytherins are bad. But me, I helped Harry when he was in trouble and even congratulated Wood. This means they see me apart from the other Slytherins."

"Oh don't get me wrong I am truly a Slytherin. But I am a slytherin so good at hiding my colors from the rest of the public they all bloody think I am a Gryffindor who the hat made a mistake with. Don't you find that beautiful? A Slytherin so great he makes everyone think he should have been in Gryffindor." I let out a chuckle.

"Envy release them" Envy cuts the webbing and pulls it off the boys then I take the webbing and I stuff it in my trunk "A true slytherin doesn't act out in the open. A true Slytherin can hide amongst sheep and lions and strike quick and silent to where no one thinks he struck at all." I end my lecture, cancel my spells, Envy turns back into it's Origin form and snuggles into my collar, then I walk out with my shadow returning to normal by the time I reach the door.

As I walk to find Harry I get pulled into a spare room "What the hell-"

"Alex it's us" said a Hermoine

I blink realizing it is Hermoine, Ron and Harry "Was there a need to drag me into a room?"

"Yes. Apparently Hermoine and Ron have something they wanted to tell us both." Said Harry

"Your broom mate. It was being cursed by Snape" Said Ron looking at Harry

I smirk slightly "I know he is your head of house but believe me I know a curse when I see one. It requires constant eye contact and Snape wasn't blinking" Said the book worm. I turn and I cast a locking charm on the door

"W-why you locking the door Alex?" Said Ron

"Well I see you caught Snape" I said with a sinister grin on my face

"W-what! You're with him!"

"Of course I am with him, but now that you know this information what am I to do with you all" I took a step towards them

"Oh stop playing around Alex. Look Hermoine, Snape can't be trying to kill me"

"But mate-"

"No Ron. Snape won't try to kill me. He is mine and Alex's Uncle."

"What?! You're related to Snape?!" Shouted Ron

"Well I am and by association he is Harry's uncle too" I say to the red head while rolling my eyes "Look he is the one who personally brews Harry's nutritional potions"

"Glad I don't have to take those anymore" mumbled Harry

"He has been to our house, might even be visiting us on Christmas too"

"You and snape you and he are" We seem to have fried Ron's brain

"But what about the eye contact and snape was mumbling to himself while looking at Harry's broom!" said Hermoine

"Counter curse would also require constant eye contact." She looks down feeling sheepish "Anyway now that this meeting is over- Wait! Which one of you set Snapes robe on fire?" I glare at them both. Hermoine slowly raises her hand looking ashamed under my glare

"... didn't know you had it in ya book worm. I won't tell Sev about that. Anyway we might want to go. Judging from how Gryffindors will party over anything I suspect they are having one right now because of your win. So off ya go" I unlock the door

"Why don't you come with us?" Asked Book Worm

" I don't think the Gryffindors will let a Slytherin in their common room, despite my good reputation. Anyway you all have fun. I might need to order a new broom"

Alexander Prince is known as many things. Genius, Prodigy, Fighter, Demon and now one more is added to that list, Wizard. With friends in High Places and more in low how will the Uncrowned Prince change the wizarding world and are they ready? Also why is his new Half Brother so famous in this world?

Watching the processions of worms making their way through with various different flavored mana, it something I could have ever imagined, plant magic or not.

I was just joking about the worm queen thing...

But here they are and they keep coming with little offerings. I like the mana candies so it's fine and they brought so many different types too!

According to what I could understand from Wormie, the first worm to approach me, I am a "good thing".  Just my presence is a benefit to the surrounding land and life. Like how I absorb the mana candies, jello pockets and....other physical nutrient the wormies and most if not all life grow from the energies I emit. Sounds like how plants release oxygen, but on some magical steroids. 

I just can't see it. Like how you just can't taste taste yourself or know your flavor- wait what is that supposed to mean wormie?! 

...Never mind, I don't want to know.


Additionally I can grant further growth and energy to any living thing at will, which is how I'm so close with my Wormie now. It spent the most time with me so far and has been growing smarter and stronger from it, that or I'm growing selectively more fond of it. Excuse me universe, this is my emotional support comfort worm. 

Originally I didn't think to do so but when the other wormies started coming I didn't know how to tell them apart. So before it got too crowded I "blessed" my Wormie with some of my energy. 

Honestly it didn't cost much. I don't have a system to tell me exactly but it feels like my energy 
replenishes over time and as I digest yummy yummy foods...and not so yummy foods.  I would have used those calories to grow or search for food anyways, why not see what else it can do. I made a reasonably calculated cost but boy am I bad at math.

I gave Wormie too much. 

Where once stood an inconspicuous average earthworm is now now an alien, a rainbow alien over triple it's original size. Wormie oh Wormie what have I done!?!

I've turned you into a monster, a gummy worm!!!

But all the worms seem excited by the way they're wiggling, I can feel them cheering through the ground. Wormie squirms in joy at its evolution, it's kinda cute despite looking like some poison dart frog alien. Well if that makes you happy.

I can hear Wormies and the other's thanks but more obviously I'm getting a lot of food in mana candies and in some....leaf mulch? Oh it tastes like salad, that's fine I like salad too. Some more dressing would be nice but this is pretty good. If you don't eat vegetables you will die after all.

Does that even apply to me anymore? I'm a plant. I AM the vegetable.

I'm focusing on growing again. With the help of the wormies I have a lot of comfy room to stretch and grow. It's also smart to thicken my roots where they've already grown. I'm still a little too scared to grow up much above surface; let's just reinforce the the sprouts I already have. Instead of two I now have four leaves clustered together. I'm an adorable sturdy little shamrock. 

Really though I was joking about the worm queen thing but it's quite nice to be served like this.

Fluff my bedding, feed me mana candies, fan me! Oh ho ho what enthusiastic wormies, how nice of them to play along. Really though their efforts do improve the soil, it's a win win relationship. I don't consciously grant any of them the energy that I have Wormie but they're all enthusiastically working around me. Some even seem to faintly gleam iridescence, a little rainbow light.

Maybe it wasn't my fault Wormie grew to a monster gummy worm, that's just how they are? 

What's that wormies? No it's very much my blessing that turned Wormie into a superior gummy worm? You will all work hard to grow into fine rainbow gummies?

Oh dear I introduced a new invasive species haven't I, a rainbow zombie worm virus. But they all seem so happy, I guess it's fine. It makes sense that it has a positive effect on them since I'm pretty sure worms don't normally act like working bees. 

I really like bees though, loved them as a human. I wonder if I'll ever develop a relationship with them like the gummies. Baby steps, I haven't even seen a bee in this world. Or well any other creature.

When the sun came out again I felt my digestion speed up exponentially. Plant metabolism sure does works funny. There's something else too, it feels like a different sort of energy than what I get in the mana candies or physical food. It feels warm obviously but strong, it's making me stronger.

I must not have felt it yesterday without my leaves, tiny as they are. Ok then it's decided, let's grow a bit taller on the surface. The sunlight gives me the strength and courage to do so. I'm getting better at growing and focusing my attention everywhere, both above and below surface. I was always good at multitasking, I just need to learn the ropes. 

I suppose this is my new job now- no it's the beginning to my new story. An adventure or a video game, that's a nice way to think of it. Didn't I always say how nice it would be to live in the world of a book or a video game.

It still stings too much to think about so I won't think about it anymore. Not yet.

I focus on cycling and digesting the energy from the sun and the nutrients underground. While I can do it unconsciously right now it seems to go faster when I concentrate.At the present I need to focus on my steady growth. 

Also it honestly feels like lazing around sunbathing and eating snacks. 

Definitely not one of the worst things to be reborn as so far, this is pretty good. 

Please keep those snacks coming wormies, new flavors are extra appreciated.  I'm even getting more used to the bugs, just the very small ones though. Remember my wormies, only little crunchy ones  they're like chips. Thank you!

After staying up all night I feel myself kind of dozing off. Looks like I do need sleep as a plant still. With the warm sunlight strengthening me and the wormies bustling around, for the first time since I woke up in this world I think I feel safe.

A nap sounds nice. Not that deep exhausted sleep like before but a simple peaceful nap. 

I'll give myself that.

The wormies are panicking. I can feel their fear, the sense of a threat and it wakes me from my snooze.

Something is wrong

Shaking off the remaining grogginess I examine my surroundings. The wormies rush to surround me, my sprout and the base of my roots.  It would be a gross sight if I wasn't so tense over what is my first real threat. 

I feel the radio static tingles on the edges of my newer thinner roots, something sharp and gnawing.

Something is starting to eat me.

"When I was human, much like you, there was this word from my home. It was not my mother tongue but it can't be translated by any other language."

"Well what is that word?"

"Komorebi"

"And what does it mean?"

"The light! It means the light that filters in-between the leaves of trees."

"That's beautiful!"

 "Isn't it?! I'm glad you think so too."

"Then we will call you Komo. To grow large enough to shade and shine down this light."

And at that moment I swore I would protect this strange person, my first precious friend in this new world. As a plant I'm not sure how, but I'll do it.

 “Shit. Let me calm down and count again. My god, it’s really 13770 points. Where did they come from? Isn’t this too much?” Zheng had lost himself. It seemed like he was totally shocked by these points and rewards.

 Honglu finished the spider legs, leaving its body and head and laughed. “It isn’t too much, at least about a thousand points less than I guessed. Hehe. But it’s still a lot. If I am not wrong then the amount of points God gives out is correlated with the difficulty of the movie. The more difficult it is, and more likely you are to die, the more points he gives out. This is probably it.” Then he took out a worm from the basket.

 The two women couldn’t look straight at him anymore. Yinkong was better off but Lan’s face was pale and she kept massaging her stomach. She forced a smile and said. “But the Alien movie we went through was more difficult than The Mummy, yet we received less points and rewards than this one. Is that because of the team battle?”

 Honglu finished the worm by now and put his hand into the basket again. Everyone’s gaze was fixed on his hand until he took out a sandwich before they let out a sigh of relief.

 Honglu said. “Don’t you feel that we are very fortunate during this team fight with team India? To be honest, I had prepared to die in the beginning but we survived with six people at the end. We are very lucky that we countered them. Think about it, they have a strong team. Their psyche force user could monitor the whole battlefield and control our weaker members. We were fighting under their radar. They had information of our every move, every word we said, even our plans. They would at least not lose even if they were against a team stronger than us.”

 Just then, everyone realized it was not a normal sandwich but filled with centipedes.

 “This psyche force user could also cooperate with the needle user for an unbeatable pair. Unless the opposing team had something like a defensive shield, they could just stay in distance and kill everyone off. That’s the power of a team. We don’t have such complementary powers in our team. This is also what I am confused about. Team India was strong but not overpowered, otherwise we wouldn’t have beat them. But how did they learn to choose complementing enhancements like this? Why didn’t we do so? I think our team is missing something, or someone that guides us to what we should enhance. I’ll call this person the leader.”

 Honglu put his hand into the basket and took out a can of cola. Just a normal can of cola.

 “So we were fortunately to survive with such a disorganized team, and had just the right powers to counter them. It is fate that let us live, or you can call it luck. We should be proud.”

 Honglu took a sip and pulled a string of hair. “Their strongest psyche force user was countered by someone in our team. And judging by the fact she didn’t appear toward the end, she was probably killed. Then Zero was almost invincible in such a large battlefield. In fact, it was Zero’s existence that held team India back the most.”

 “Then God determined we were the weaker team and gave us the Book of the Dead. Oh right, Zheng, did you take the book from the movie?” Honglu asked.

 Zheng immediately activated the ring and took out the book. This book actually came out of the movie with him.

 Honglu nodded. “This is the last deciding power of our victory, the Book of the Dead. Furthermore, someone from our team could actually read it. I have to say it was extremely lucky.”

 “I’ll also have to mention the stupidity of team India.” Honglu sneered. “Perhaps I don’t understand how foreigners think or were they just stupid? I don’t get why they didn’t go all out in a fight in the beginning. If they had done so from the start, we would have been wiped, although it would probably cost them a few lives. And now? How should I describe it? They didn’t have the determination of a player!”

 Honglu got on the ground and frowned. After a while he asked Zheng. “Was there any movie that was easy in the ones you’ve been through? Oh and can you know what the next movie is?”

 Zheng paused for a moment. “It can’t be easy right? We were on the brink of death several times. To be honest, if it wasn’t being so close to death, I wouldn’t have reached the second stage of the unlocked mode. As to knowing the next movie, how is it possible?”

 Honglu snapped his fingers. “Bingo! That’s right! Had you noticed the clothes team India was wearing? Aside from a select few, almost everyone of them were in robes suitable for the desert. Maybe it was a coincidence since there was an Arabic but I am more pronged to believe they knew what the next movie was. That was why they could exchange weapons and enhancements suitable for each movie. If that was so, then why don’t we have such ability?”

 “Simple deduction leads me to believe that 1. we didn’t do something. Like if this was a game, we forgot to talk to some NPC or didn’t obtain a quest item, or didn’t go to a specific place, and the progress of the game is stuck. So God didn’t activate some options and we couldn’t know what the next movie is. 2. Lan said that their leader ran away in the end of the fight. I think someone that had reached the second stage of the unlocked mode wouldn’t be so weak mentally. He should be someone that has the courage to face death and fight for his life, yet he ran away. I can only believe that team India was stronger than us only because the movies they experienced were easier and could obtain more points. While we have to struggle for a chance to live every time. That made us weaker but also gave us the courage to fight. So my question is, what didn’t we do? Why did we have to struggle so hard every time?”

 Zheng looked at Lan and also noticed her gaze. They both thought of a name, Jie. The only one that could tell them something was Jie.

 Honglu looked at Zheng and smiled. “I’ll leave that to you. Leader. Hoho, you’re the leader after all. So I’ll leave diplomacy to you. We will move on to the next topic. You’ve so many points and rewards this time, so have you thought about what to exchange yet?”

 Zheng smiled. “This is the most I’ve seen since I entered this world. I am planning to get my Vampire bloodline to rank B then it should increase my blood energy pool by a lot. I haven’t thought about the other enhancements yet. Do you have any suggestion?”

 “Buy mini surface to surface missiles.” He laughed. “One that can destroy all lives within a kilometer. I checked it, it’s only 2000 points. Inexpensive and powerful. What do you think?”

It’s about a few guests going to save the towns and trying to survive to dangers of this town come and see if they save the town a to see who makes it out alive. Muhahahah

Only now did Lin Sanjiu realize why all the contenders in the Olympics looked so tired and weak. After Lin Sanjiu had amassed enough strength to lift herself from the ground, she looked no better than them.
Due to the omnipresent fog, the sky appeared like it was late in the evening even though it was just three in the afternoon. Lin Sanjiu was carrying the birdcage on her back. Next to her was Soulsqn who slithered around like a snake after losing her human pouch. The fatty was walking beside Soulsqn. Since he was tiny and his limbs were short, he was having difficulty catching up with them.
The finish line was near the starting point, but it was far from the wall. They did not have any choice but to traverse the entire the Salvation of God zone. Looking at the bright side, they were also given a chance to witness the other competitions that were still going on.
After trudging for almost 30 minutes, Lin Sanjiu had witnessed several competitions. In addition to archery and wrestling, which were common, there were some games that Lin Sanjiu could not distinguish. There was one where the contenders stood on a rising ground before eventually falling into an open pit below when the ground reached a certain height. Then, another competition that Lin Sanjiu felt was weird was a group of contenders staring motionlessly at a cylindrical object in front of them.
All the competitions had their respective arenas, and all the arenas were connected by a narrow walkway that served as the sole entrance and exit for the contenders. After walking across the walkway, Lin Sanjiu finally reached the wall.
"Welcome back, athletes! Congratulations on passing your first day at the Olympics!" The moment they touched the wall, a line of words appeared on it. "Do you wish to check your results, or do you wish to book your next game?"
The ranking was the last thing Lin Sanjiu cared about. After all, she was confident that neither she nor the flesh worm would get first place. Besides, all the contenders would be given three days off after each game session. Hence, she replied, "Show me the map."
From the map, Lin Sanjiu found that the Red Nautilus zone and the Civet Coffee zone were in the opposite direction. Along with the Salvation of God zone, the three zones formed an irregular triangle along the edge of the resting zone.
Things were a little bit tricky here. Lin Sanjiu had promised Maxin that she would find him after the game ended, and she planned to honor the promise. She did not want to give him the wrong impression of being a greedy person. However, she was worried sick about her grand prize, and only by seeing him in person would she be able to quench the apprehension in her heart. Just as her mind was at sixes and sevens, not knowing what to do, the ground quivered under her feet. With a slight shake and a low rumble, the wall on her right slid open, gradually revealing a pathway behind.
It was already noon, and most of the games had ended. Hence, more people were going in and out of the resting zone. Just when Lin Sanjiu shifted her gaze back to the map, she froze. She quickly crouched on the ground and took cover behind Soulsqn's massive worm-like body.
Puzzled, Polva looked at her. "What are you doing?" 
Equally dumbfounded, the flesh worm spun her head around. "Who has seen you?"
Coming out from the wall was a little girl in her early teens. She was thin and tiny. Like a green shoot that had just sprouted from the soil, she was full of vim and vigor, which were virtues that were hard to find in people nowadays. She looked left and right, and she gave a little start when she saw the gigantic flesh worm. She sprang backward, then hastily walked away towards the Salvation of God zone.
"Wasn't she the girl called Lucy? The girl who wanted to sell us rockets?" Soulsqn asked, her voice thick with merriment, but her joy was short-lived. She sighed disappointedly. "Why are you hiding from her?"
"I don't want any trouble," Lin Sanjiu gave a short answer, "I still have other things to do, so I don't have time to deal with her right now."
Although she felt sorry for cheating Lucy, that was not the reason she was avoiding her. In fact, Lin Sanjiu had an inkling that the reason Lucy went back to the Salvation of God zone was to look for her.
After all, for an entrepreneur like Lucy, who specialized in selling Special Items, it was not an everyday occurrence for her to come across a Special Item like the Battle Item that could imitate the effects of other Special Items.
She threw Lucy and her intention to the back of her mind. Right now, she had other more important things to do.
Staring fixedly at the little girl, Soulsqn sighed dejectedly after she disappeared into the horizon.
Soulsqn was not born with the oral structure of a human, so she rubbed her mandibles to imitate various human voices. Not did she sigh like a human, but she was also becoming more and more human in terms of behavior. She had even mastered the timing and situation of when to sigh. Lin Sanjiu gave her a sidelong glance and turned to the fatty. "You want to put on your bodies, don't you?"
Polva nodded.
"Then, I have a favor for you. If you see Maxin come looking for me in the Salvation of God zone, please send him a message." Initially, Lin Sanjiu wanted to settle the deal with Maxin that night, but she changed her mind at the very last minute just as the words reached the tip of her tongue. "I'll go find him tomorrow morning at the Civet Coffee zone before the game starts. When we meet, I'll give him the share he deserves."
"Okay, no problem! Leave it to me!" Polva claimed the job readily. He smacked his chest, causing his skin to jiggle. "My life is yours. I'll do whatever it takes to pay you back!"
Lin Sanjiu was tickled pink by the fatty. She had quite a good impression of him. Before they parted ways, she suddenly remembered something and warned the fatty, "Watch out for yourself before you join any games. Stay away from the man in black that we met this afternoon. If he sees you and attempts to do something to you, run as fast as you can and come to me."
Polva was a timid man. His pupils expanded and his face went pale. Lin Sanjiu bade him farewell and began to move towards the Red Nautilus zone along the outside of the wall. The distance between the two zones was similar no matter if she departed from inside or outside of the wall. Hence, to avoid bumping into Puppeteer, she chose to go to the Red Nautilus zone by walking along the foot of the wall.
However, little did she know that her effort was unnecessary.
After Lin Sanjiu dragged her overexerted body to the Red Nautilus zone, she immediately went around to ask for the whereabouts of her grand prize. When she found that his competition was drawing to a close soon, she rushed to the chess competition area. When she arrived at the door flanked by two pillars, one in white while the other was black, she saw a figure walking out from the door behind.
The sky had turned completely dark, and the last ray of twilight had vanished. The figure was getting more apparent as he moved closer to Lin Sanjiu. 
Ji Shanqing's tousled long hair draped over his shoulders. His face was as pristine and cold as jade. He stopped next to the pillar and turned to look over his shoulders. Several contenders behind him immediately stopped their pace, staring warily at him.
Lin Sanjiu had never seen this side of Ji Shanqing before.
She hesitated for a moment, but she still decided to call out to him. Hearing his name, Ji Shanqing turned his head back and was stunned. The coldness on his face melted as a grin broke upon his face. "Sis!"
"How's the competition going?" Lin Sanjiu took a breath and walked to him with a smile. "Are you all right?"
The faces of the contenders who had just finished the chess game were ugly. They all walked past them silently.
"Terrible. I had to run back and fro many times. My legs are screaming with pain now," the grand prize grumbled, pouting. Then, in the next second, his lips turned into a grin as he said triumphantly, "But anyhow, the chess game reminded me of my days in the Mirror Maze. I won the first prize!"
"There is a ranking in the chess game too?"
"Yeah," the grand prize answered, but he did not explain much about it. His gaze fell on the birdcage on Lin Sanjiu's back. His eyebrows furrowed. "So, what made you come here, sis? Didn't Puppeteer tell you to meet me tonight in the resting zone?"
"I was worried about you, so I decided to come over here to look for you," Lin Sanjiu replied, casting him a furtive glance.
Ji Shanqing pouted again, but he soon broke into a smile.
Although the expression was swift, it did not escape Lin Sanjiu's eyes. She had an inkling that the grand prize did not want her to come for him.
"Sis, it is getting late. How about you go back and take a rest?" the grand prize said softly, "Your game consumes plenty of strength, and you look awful."
"How about you?" Lin Sanjiu raised one of her eyebrows in question.
"I… I need to go to look for Puppeteer first. After that, I'll go to the resting zone to meet you with him," Ji Shanqing said, flashing Lin Sanjiu a toothy grin.
