All my goals before Fifth year had been achieved, with the minor exception of the vaccine, but that is something which will undergo enormous amounts of testing to make 110% sure of every effect it will have, making it a long term project. The plans regarding it involve proper testing and data collection for the next two years before submitting it for approval, with proper observation and data collecting for the next 5 minimum. After that, it will be standard operating procedures to keep track more loosely unless someone wishes to dedicate themselves to it.

The school year was nearing and Susan was excited to go back to Hogwarts, to be with her friends and learn more magic besides my special ones. She says it stops her from getting weird looks when she does the spells differently. Made me sad when I heard she didn't like my spells, but she assured me that she liked them but didn't want to always get it 'wrong'.

But there was a rather large surprise came with my letter this year: a badge with the words Head Boy. This confused me greatly. Not because i wasn't expecting a badge, I would be surprised if I didn't get the prefect badge this year honestly. But shouldn't the Head Boy/Girl be in their seventh years? Aunty was both ecstatic and confused when she realized it as well. Then I noticed an additional letter.

'Dear Aedan,

I know you will be confused over this matter, as you know full well how the prefect and Head Boy/Girl system operates. But let me assure you that the badge now in your possession is rightfully yours. I had to discuss it with the Board of Directors, but your stellar academic record, remarkable displays of ability and leadership due to your Exchange, and your unbiased views and actions in school were more than enough to prove that you are the most deserving student in Hogwarts. Your work and results outside of school have probably helped influence the decision of the board as well.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.

My aunt and I read the letter over, after which she just burst out with pride and gave me a big hug. 

"That's the first time in centuries it wasn't a seventh year getting the head boy position! I'm so proud of you Aedan!" She said excitedly.

"Yeah. I really wasn't expecting that." I answered hugging her back. It's nice when she loosens up like this.

Susan came in wondering what was happening, then she joined aunty in congratulating me. Tilly popped in feeling worried at the noise, but left excitedly as she went to prepare a celebratory feast. The house was filled with merriment that evening. Aunty also talked to the family portrait after some drinks, crying and laughing as she did, sharing the news to those she missed.

After that Dumbledore bomb, I decided to make sure everything was still happening as it should. So I headed over to Diagon Alley, waiting for the Weasleys to come do their shopping. I'm just spending time doing some preparations for the year, and yes Lockhart is coming and yes I've read his stupid books. They are appalling as biographical works, but mildly entertaining when I read them as works of pure fiction at least. The guy is still a total ponce though. It's the first time I've seen such narcism. But whatever, It's not like I'll listen to the idiot.

A few day into my wait, I then saw a group of nervous red-heads looking around in a hurry.

'Guess Harry messed it up even after I told him how it works. Probably should've let him try it once, but then he wouldn't spot the Malfoy's, whom I've also spotted as all of them, along with Hagrid, came out of Knockturn Alley one after another.

'Good to know I'm not fucking things up too much so far. All that's left is for the pansy to sneak the bloody horcrux to little Ginny.' I thought as I observed the situation from afar.

It was hilarious to watch two grown-ass wizard men start a fist fight in a book store. They're just so bad at it. But before all the commotion, I was able to confirm Ginny getting the journal, so with my goal met, I decided to intervene.

"Well isn't this a sight. The great Lucius Malfoy, fighting like a muggle. Wonder how the paper will spin that bit." I say loudly enough for everyone to hear me. 

Most people stop panicking and look at me, the one who dared openly mock the Malfoy lord. But then they see me. Standing at 6'0, wearing a light, black colored robe over a similarly black undershirt, contrasting my flowing silver hair and flame-like eyes, finely chiseled muscle visible through my shirt and pants. They parted way to let me reach the brawling pair, who seemed not to have noticed my entrance. I saw Hermione being shocked at my presence, Harry was happy to see me, Molly and Ginny Weasley didn't know who I was, but Percy was curious, George and Fred were excited to see me in action, and Ronald had a very ugly expression on his face. 

As I walked to approach the two, the fight suddenly escalated as they both went for their wands, to the shock of everyone present. So in that moment I channeled some magic into my legs in a practiced manner and burst into a blur as I take Arthur's wand from him before he can noticed me, and garb Lucius' wrist to flip him completely by forcing him into an awkward position and then sweeping his feet with enough force. I heard the gasps of the spectators as I ended the fight then and there, with a wand in each hand, a stunned Arthur and furious Lucius on the floor.

"How dare you assault me brat!? Do you know who I am!?" Was his furious response to events.

"I know very well who you are Mr. Malfoy." I reply evenly. "You are a very rich man and you have the ears of many important people. But do you know who I am?" I asked back as he stood up in rage.

"Why should I care who some mixed-blood bastard is?" He spat back out with venom.

"Oh you should really care. Simply because of who I am and who my aunt is. Because if she found out what you were about to do in Diagon in Alley, in front of so many witnesses, you'd be joining some old friends in a very happy place by next week." I reply with a true devils smile as the statement immediately sent a shiver down his spine.

"And who is this aunt of yours? You would be able to get me in trouble with her? How preposterous!" He scoffed as his head cooled a bit.

"Amelia Bones." I respond with the brightest smile. 

Lucius' face paled noticeably as he realizes just how bad this is.

"Right! I forgot to introduce myself properly to you. My aunt would kill me if I didn't show proper decorum to such a distinguished lord." I suddenly say as I properly perform a nobles greeting. "It is a pleasure to officially meet you Lord Malfoy, I am Aedan Bones, heir of Noble House Bones. May we have a long and pleasant relationship." I finished with a polite smile which did not reach my eyes.

He couldn't respond. He knew just how eager my aunt would be to take him down for the slightest law breaking. And a duel in broad daylight, in the middle of a crowded Diagon Alley was definitely something she could use. So although I humiliated him in my takedown, I did him quite the favor and he knows it. So he now has to show either proper decorum and get payback later, or be angry now and leave in a huff. But he is smart, and very slippery, I know what he will pick.

"Then I will have to thank you Heir Bones, for mediating mine and Arthur's disagreement. Come Draco, let's go." He said with no emotions on his face or in his voice as he simply departed after snatching his wand back from me.

With that it was over and people quickly dispersed, I'm guessing they really wanted to tell the people they knew about this one.

After everyone left, I turned my attention to Arthur Weasley, a man who apparently loves muggles but never tried a condom.

"Here you are Mr. Weasley. I hope you can at least do such things in a proper venue next time. I hear muggles have many fighting competitions, maybe there would be a good place." I say with a chuckle as I hand his wand back to him. 

"Ah, yes. Thank you for that. But are you really Madam Bones' nephew? Not many have seen him, I knew his parents and you look... different." He hesitated to say.

To which I show him my Heir ring and answer. "A lot has happened, but yes I am her nephew. I was actually here to work on some stuff at the store. I'm almost finished making a new product, it'll be great." I say with a smile. "Then I heard and saw the commotion." I say with a teasing grin.

"Yes, me and Lucius are usually at odds with each other to explain lightly." He replied awkwardly with some embarrassment.

"I get it. The man has a dark past, present and probably future. But at least try not to fight him in a public area next time. He is a total prick, but an influential and dangerous one." I said seriously. "And don't worry about my aunt, I'm not telling on anyone. Just said that to make him sweat." I add with a grin.

"Thank you for that. Now I better get back to my family. It looks like Molly might hurt me more than Lucius has if I don't hurry." He said with nervous chuckle. And with the look on the woman's face, I can't blame him.

I said a quick hello to Harry, Hermione and Percy, who although has a stick up his ass, I've gotten to know well enough in the Exchange. The twins were energetic as could be due to the sight of father Malfoy on his ass and were shaking my hand in an over exaggerated manner for the fun of it. I introduce myself to little Ginny, who looks up in awe at what I did, finishing with just a polite hello to Ronald, whom continues to be a prat.

With that interesting bit down, I excused myself and went back home.

A young man reborn into his favorite world.

He was granted some request after his death, but the problem was that the granter had no control over how those request were to be granted.

Watch as he grows from a single boy in the dark to a protector who wishes to light the path forward for the magical world one step at a time.

History
Lisha is the first of her family to become a full time student at Republic City University. She is the only child of Shae and Freya.

Growing up, Lisha had grown fond of her father's tavern so much that she started working at a young age. Not only that, but Shae had worked part time as a mechanic at Sato Industries which sparked an interest to his daughter, making her wanting to major in engineering. Eventually, she made enough money to send herself to University, giving her the title as the first of her family to ever attend college. From then on, Lisha continued to work at her father's tavern while studying so he could work as a mechanic on the side to keep his tavern since the place was always rundown by generals and soldiers of the United Forces. However, one day while Lisha was working, she had been caught in the sights of an infamous general who had fallen head over heels in love just by the sight of her.

"Fine, we'll fight after food."

"No!" Gunn planted his feet firmly into the ground.

Rhys could only marvel at Gunn who was more and more turning out to be his complete opposite. While Rhys thrived from thinking situations out and coming up with the most plausible solutions, Gunn was practically allergic to rationality. All he wanted to do was fight, immediately.

"Fight me now!" He balled his hands into fists ready to attack.

Otis and Rhys simultaneously stepped around Gunn and reached for the doors of the cafeteria, not caring about this demands in the slightest.

"NO!"

Gunn ran up behind them and shoved the two out of the way. He coiled his right arm around the door handles so that no one could open the doors, and with a crazy determined look in his eyes, he shouted at Rhys. "Man up and fight me now!"

"Hey!" A girl from behind the three snapped in disgust at Gunn. "Some of us want to eat."

"Yeah, seriously dude, move." More and more grumbles were being heard from the students approaching the cafeteria as they were being blocked from entering by Gunn.

Once again Gunn did not care about what anyone else thought, he only did what he wanted to and had no regrets. "Go eat dirt then, I'm not moving until..."

"Move."

The words were said as if a death sentence had been handed out, the threat of violence in the tone stopped everyone in their tracks.

The students all turned around to see who had spoken, but before they knew what was happening a fearsome bolt of electricity smashed through the angry mob of students and slammed Gunn against the metal doors. Gunn was pinned to the doors, shaking violently as the electricity wrecked through his body. All everyone could do was stare wide-eyed as the spectacle in front of them. It was not long before Gunn collapsed to the ground in front of the cafeteria as wisps of smoke wafted off his back.

Everyone caught a glimpse of the cold ruthless eyes that cared nothing about other people, and they all saw the three-striped juvenile tattoo below his blonde hair on the nape of his neck, like a mark of honour among the cold-blooded and dangerously strong.

Rhys glanced around to see a mix of expressions on the people's faces. The majority of people were painted with fear and alarm, though a few students looked impressed and even awestruck. One girl in particular was biting her bottom lip and staring at him with glossy eyes. Rhys glanced at his roommate's back walking into the cafeteria and felt a small shameful ache in his gut. He wondered what it was like to be someone who inspired such vivid reactions in other people. What was it like to be someone others paid attention to?

['It is glorious you know']

'What?' Rhys was snatched from his contemplation by the teacher.

['Having others fear and admire you, I mean. It is the privilege of the strong, something attainable if you would only work for it.']

"That was the guy from the orientation test." Otis breathed out shakily remembering the screams that came from the fourth corner.

"Yeah," Rhys sighed. "He's my roommate." There was a long pause wherein Otis stared at Rhys trying to determine whether Rhys was being serious or not.

"You're joking right?"

Rhys only shook his head as he watched his roommate push open the cafeteria doors and enter.

"Hang in there." Otis looked down at Rhys with the same earnest eyes from yesterday which caused Rhys to chuckled slightly.

"I'll try."

As the trance left behind by the display of power lifted, the college students outside slowly began to filter into the cafeteria. All of them were similarly inquiring about who that guy was and how the hell he was able to get such an awesome core. Rhys listened intently to their passing conversations feeling just a tiny bit jealous about how they talked about him with such admiration.

After everyone had gone inside, Rhys tentatively put his finger under Gunn's nose to see if he was still breathing. Thankfully, Gunn was still alive. After a few seconds of discussion, Rhys and Otis thought it would be overkill to lug him all the way to the infirmary when they could simply prop him up against the wall and pat his head for good luck. Otis wiped the drool from the side of Gunn's mouth with the bottom of his t-shirt to ease his conscience before him and Rhys entered the cafeteria.

Finally, Rhys was inside the cafeteria. He was astounded by how much food there was and by how delicious it all looked. He was expecting to be fed the bitter government-issued food pills or powdered eggs, the stuff he had lived off in high school, but instead, the ginormous cafeteria was chock full of real vegetables and meat, all the food groups and even desserts.

['Yes, you must use this opportunity to replenish your strength and add weight to you pathetic body']

Rhys could barely hear the insults from inside his head because the delicious smells had put him in a trance.

"I must be dreaming."

Otis laughed out loud from behind Rhys while loading his plate full of chicken wings.

"Yeah well, the military college is ultimately trying to recruit us into the army. You know, they have to feed us well in order for us to get stronger, especially since they are not willing to compromise on the toughness of the training they need at least one way for the students to want to be here."

Rhys eventually took a seat once he had stacked three plates full of meat. He could not remember the last time he had eaten real meat. Since powder substitutes or food pills were so much cheaper, he and Gramps had lived off that for the longest time.

While Rhys ate he activated his skill and scanned the people in the room for their auras. Although the majority were strengthening cores, Rhys managed to gain some Exp from a few unique abilities in the room.

Although Rhys was happy to finally get more EXP, the abilities he had seen were all pretty common.

From what Rhys had seen so far the majority of people were categorised as weak or very weak. Once in while Rhys would see someone with the 'average' label. Although the system marked them as average, from Rhys's experience people rated as average were quite strong. Otis was rated as average, but Rhys knew that when he compared Otis to other strengthening cores, Otis was definitely outstanding. Then finally it was the 'strong' or 'very strong' category. If Rhys's roommate was anyone to go by, people rated as strong by the system were extremely dangerous. Rhys's roommate not only had an extremely rare and valued ability, but he was also able to control it remarkably.

After Rhys and Otis licked their plates clean, they sat in a daze at their booth. Rhys patted his bulging belly while Otis slumped over ready to take a nap.

"So you've met my roommate, but who is yours?" Rhys asked curiously.

"My roommate hasn't arrived yet, so I've got my room to myself for now."

"Oh right, I forgot that people are still arriving." Rhys burped and it smelled like the chicken and mashed potatoes he had eaten. "How many people are going to be at this college anyways?"

"Well for us freshmen, were are split into groups of about fifty people when we do that initiation test, then there are about twenty-four batches of those students arriving per day. And people have been able to come to campus for four months, monies a few deaths for each batch. Um, so that's about..."

"Somewhere between one-hundred and forty-thousand to one-hundred and fifty-thousand people." Rhys summarised feeling too lazy to do the exact math.

Rhys ignored the impressed look on Otis's face and realised that there were still another four campuses in the sector, each with about the same number of freshmen students. No to mention that most people enrolled in the college early, so the number of incoming students was probably much larger than what Otis had described, most likely closer to about two hundred thousand freshmen per campus.

"This is one huge operation they are running." Rhys sighed as he thought about all the talented students being registered.

"Yeah, that's a lot of competition." Otis looked sternly down into his plate of food. Rhys could see something was brewing behind his large forehead, something that Rhys wanted to unpack.

"District seventeen is a nice place though, it's supposed to be the best district in sector five. From what I know about you, you have an older brother and most probably a family and a nice place to call home. So why would you come to the military college? Surely there were lots of other options for someone like you?" Rhys had been wondering about this for quite a while. He understood why the military college was the favourable option for district 20's young adults who had no better options but not for the seventeenth district and up who were living relatively good lives.

"What are you talking about? Although the military college has a tough reputation, it's still a great way to get trained and raise your skills. Even if I don't decide to join the military I'll still graduate with qualifications."

Rhys was surprised by the genuinely happy look on Otis's face. Although Rhys had not paid that much attention when people talked about the military college, when he had tuned in, all he heard were disturbing things, from cruel instructors to bullying, Yet Otis who had grown up in a different district praised the college to no end.

"Anyway, we'll find out sooner or later what kind of place this is." Rhys patted his belly.

There was a moment of awkward silence between the two as they were each trying to figure out each other's ideologies. After a while, Otis was the one to break the silence.

"Do you want to go to the arena after this?" He sat forward and placed both hands on the table enthusiastically. "Apparently it's a thing to sit there and watch as the new students come in, you know, sniff out the competition."

'That would be a great chance to use my Aura detection skill.' Rhys smiled knowing that he was guaranteed to get more EXP with the arrival of new students.

['Yes it would be, but first the library. Don't make me give you another quest.']

Rhys sighed knowing that he should really go to the library. "Maybe I'll meet you there later."

"Sure. After dinner?"

"Sure."

Rhys slowly stood up from the table and steadied himself, trying to regain balance with his extra poundage. Rhys waved goodbye to Otis who decided he wanted to stew for a bit longer and headed to the library.

On his way out he saw his roommate sitting at a large booth surrounded by other students. The girls were leaning towards him and cooing at him while the guys were laughing loudly trying to catch his attention that way. It was clear that the other freshmen had already identified their top dog and were trying to get into his good books while he was docile.

The image of his content smirk stuck in Rhys's brain as he walked in the direction of the library. People really did flock to you if they believed you were powerful.

The campus was ginormous to the point that it resembled a city rather than a campus, but thankfully the library was only a ten-minute walk from the cafeteria. The library looked more like a skyscraper than any of the libraries Rhys had ever seen. It towered into the sky and reflected the clouds and surrounding buildings with its glass panelling. When Rhys stepped through the large entrance he was immediately greeted by a large flatscreen that displayed a piece of unsettling information.

It read, 'Countdown for the start of Military college: 15 hours!'

Rhys's chest tightened as he realised that class would be starting tomorrow. For some reason, he had been under the impression that he had more time, but now he realised that he really did not. He needed to try to get to level five before class started tomorrow.

Rhys walked past the rows and rows of students at desks reading from crystal tablets. From a quick glance at their bright white auras, Rhys saw that the majority of the students in the library were people with brain enhancer cores, people with higher than average intelligence all of whom were rated as weak or very weak. Rhys planted himself in front of a librarian machine and started searching for books. Since he did not have any authors in mind he simply tapped on the non-fiction icon. From there he did a keyword search. He typed in the words 'aura', 'spirituality' and 'ghost'.

A variety of different results popped up in the screen, the majority of which were links to pre-invasion television series and movies. Rhys sceptically looked over the titles that all seemed more fantastical than based in reality. With a huff, he scrolled past all the movies and arrived at the bottom of the results list where a hand full of possible useful resources were listed. Although the tower was very tall with at least ten floors, all the books Rhys was looking for were apparently on the underground floors.

With a few more taps Rhys printed out a list of his selected books and headed to the stairs. Unlike the sleek black staircase heading upwards, the staircase heading down looked much older.

The underground floors of the library were literally like a basement where they shoved all the stuff they did not care about but needed to house. Rhys had to squeeze past old boxes and random pieces of abandoned furniture to finally reach the old wooden bookshelves. On those shelves, he eventually located the books he was interested in. Among them was a book about pre-invasion yoga and meditation techniques from India and China, A book of Japanese folklore that apparently detailed the different types of spirits, A book that was meant to give cultural context to the belief in ghosts in Europe and Africa, lastly, there was a short thin biographical book about the lives and works of some psychical researchers.

Although none of them looked like what he really wanted, he hoped that they would at least be able to give him some hints in the right direction. He wanted to level up his skills but he would not be able to do that without getting a better understanding of spirituality.

Rhys carried his books to the least dusty looking lounge chair in the basement. He sat down, placed his books at his feet and began to read.

Although Rhys expected to be bored out of his kind as he read, he found himself getting deeply invested into the books. Because of the subject matter of the books, they read more like science fiction or fantasy than boring non-fiction.

"An aura or energy field is a luminous coloured emanation said to enclose a human body or animal or object," Rhys murmured the words as he read through the book.

'Why can I only see the auras of living things if objects also have auras?'

['The auras of objects as are complex and require a certain level of concentration to be able to see them. So until you figure out how you will only be able to see the auras of living things.']

"The aura of a human being is said to be the secret anatomy of the human body that reflects the health and state of mind of the human."

Rhys immediately thought back to when he had fought Sampson and his two friends. The specific parts of their bodies where they were injured had a dull almost invisible aura light, moreover, when the two guys had died their auras disappeared altogether. If Rhys paid more attention to the auras he would be able to tell where people were injured just be looking at them.

'The state of mind of the human...' Rhys reread the line in the book and wondered if he would be able to tell people's emotions and mentality from looking at their aura.

Rhys delved further and further into the book and found himself absorbing the words easily. The concept of chakra and the third eye and humans having a sixth sense. Rhys was reading faster and retaining the knowledge at a rate he did not think was possible. After about an hour and a half, he finished the two hundred page book and was reaching for the next one. His ability to read and absorb information had definitely increased thanks to his intelligence stat.

Rhy's smirked when he saw the notification and continued to turn the pages of his book. He had about thirteen hours before the term started and he was planning on reading the remaining three books in that time.

Rhys was plunging himself into the fascinating world of ESP and ghosts, things that pre-invasion humans had been obsessed with, something that he was quickly becoming obsessed with as well.

"You stingy old..." Rhys tried to curb his anger and refocus on his books before he lost the will to read. Once again the teacher gave him a quest without any rewards and only a penalty. Although Rhys had experienced the haunting before and made it out stronger, the mental toll it took on him seeing Barrow's face again and being beaten up by him, the guy who organized Gramp's death was not something he would willingly go through a second time. He would say here and read until the clock ran out, and if he missed his dinner meetup with Otis he would just have to apologise later.

Thinking about Otis reminded Rhys that he had left Gunn in front of the cafeteria, poor idiotic Gunn. Rhys hoped that Gunn had given up on fighting him.

"Speaking of that," Rhys suddenly thought of a question that had been eating away at him. "I was sure that you were going to issue me a quest to fight and kill Gunn, but you didn't...?"

['Don't worry, I have not grown soft on you. I will wait until the time when you have no other choice but to kill. At that time I will watch happily as you abandon your convictions and realize your true potential']

A raspy chuckle resonated in the back of Rhys's head as goosebumps spread across his flesh.

Rhys was prepared to live a poor but happy life with his grandfather in District 20, until he got the opportunity to go on a raid and have his grandfather's debt wiped clean. He thought this one raid would be the end to all his problems, but it was only the beginning. 

Rhys absorbed the core as a last-ditch attempt to save his life, only to wake up hours later in a hospital with abilities and a strange System showing him his statistics. Wanting to grow stronger, Rhys enrolls into the military academy, where he learns just how terrifying his ability is.

“Hrm, there were three sculptures in the main hall which sold for 1500 gold pieces each?” Austoni [Ao’Si’Tuo’Ni], a manager at the Proulx Gallery, stared at the records in astonishment. After flipping through the biographical details of the sculptor, Linley, he couldn’t help but be even more amazed. “These three are all made by Linley, and he’s only fifteen?”

The world of sculpture was definitely that of a pyramid.

The entire Holy Alliance had only five or six master level sculptors who stood at the peak of this field, and perhaps a hundred or so expertsculptors. From this, one could imagine how rare these experts were. Usually, someone who could be termed a ‘expert sculptor’ was someone who had an understanding of life and whose skill in this art was such that he could infuse this understanding into his sculptures. Only then would their sculptures have special auras.

A fifteen year old expertsculptor?

“And this Linley fellow is a student at the Ernst Institute?” Austoni was growing more and more shocked. The Ernst Institute was the number one magus academy in the entire Yulan continent. “And he is a student of the fifth class? A fifteen year old student of the fifth class?”

Austoni sucked in a cold breath.

Genius!

“Even if these three sculptures were only worth a thousand gold apiece, based on the age of the sculptor alone, the true value of these sculptures would definitely be several times greater.” Austoni became absolutely convinced of this.

For a fifteen year old sculptor to be able to produce sculpture at this level meant that the value of his artwork would be exponentially greater.

For this fifteen year old sculptor to also be a student at the Ernst Institute meant that he was a genius amongst geniuses. Once again, this would multiply the value of his sculptures.

“This afternoon, I am going to the Ernst Institute. It has been quite some time since the Proulx Gallery has enrolled a new expertsculptor amongst our ranks.” Austoni made his decision. By virtue of the fact that all three of his sculptures had fetched a high price, Linley clearly had proved his worth.

He was fully qualified to be invited to have his sculptures displayed in a private booth in the hall of experts.

That very afternoon.

A horse carriage drew up outside the main gates of the Ernst Institute. It was Austoni and two guards. Arriving at the main gate, Austoni took out his identification showing himself to be a manager at the Proulx Gallery. The Ernst Institute actually deployed one of their own guards to escort him.

At the instructional areas for the fifth grade students at the Ernst Institute.

“Mr. Austoni, this is where most of the instructors for the magi of the fifth rank congregate.” Smiling, the escort pushed the door open. Currently, around ten or so magi were here, chatting and laughing. To be qualified to instruct magi of the fifth rank, one would be a magi of the seventh or perhaps even the eighth rank.”

As the door opened, these magi of exalted rank all turned to look.

“Milords, this is Mr. Austoni of the Proulx Gallery. He has some business which he would like to beseech your aid for.” The escort said respectfully.

The magi all nodded calmly.

The Proulx Gallery had multiple branches in all of the kingdoms and empires in the Yulan continent, and it possessed astonishing power and influence. Thus, even proud, arrogant magi would be fairly cordial when dealing with the Proulx Gallery.

“Milords magi.” Austoni said with a smile. “I’m here in search of a student named Linley?”

“Linley?”

All of the magi laughed. Amongst them, a purple robed magi said with a smile, “Linley? That’s one of the two utmost geniuses of the Ernst Institute. He is a dual-element magus, wielding earth and wind. Go speak with his wind-element instructor. He might know.”

“You can forget about the earth element instructor. This Linley fellow, in the past three months, has only shown his face twice in our earth element classes.” A whiskered old man said unhappily. “But Linley attends virtually every single wind element class.”

Another bearded elder said with a smile, “I am Linley’s wind element instructor. I’m fairly knowledgeable about him. If you have any questions, you can ask me.”

Austoni nodded. “A month ago, Linley brought three sculptures over to the Proulx Gallery. His sculptures already possess the grandeur of a expert. Based on the price it fetched this month, we have determined that Linley is qualified to have his sculptures displayed in a private booth in the hall of the experts. Thus, I have come to gift him with a silver magicard.”

“A private booth?”

Those magi were all amazed.

These proud, lofty magi were all fairly knowledgeable when it came to sculptures. They all knew that it was extremely hard to even carve a physically perfect sculpture, much less one with a special aura or essence. To have a private booth at the Proulx Gallery was the dream of countless sculptors.

“Are you sure it was Linley? This Linley fellow is normally quite diligent and hardworking in his studies. And he is only fifteen years old.” Linley’s wind element instructor, that silver haired, white robed old man said disbelievingly.

Austoni smiled. “This is beyond any question. At the Proulx Gallery, we recorded down all of Linley’s biographical data. And, based on our data, he came to the Proulx Gallery in the company of young master Yale.”

Those magi all nodded.

And then, they all began to talk amongst themselves animatedly. One of the two utmost geniuses of the Ernst Institute was actually a expertsculptor as well. For a genius magus to be able to secure a private booth at the Proulx Gallery was something which would rarely occur even a single time over the course of a thousand years.

Naturally, these magi were all amazed.

“Milords magi, can any of you inform me where Linley is residing?” Austoni asked.

That silver haired, white robed elder said, “Linley resides in dorm 1987.”

“Dorm 1987?” Hearing this, Austoni was about to head there right away.

The silver haired, white robed elder continued, “But please wait. Although Linley lives in dorm 1987, I happen to know that three weeks ago, he departed from the school to engage in training. Thus, unfortunately, I’m afraid you came here for nothing.”

“Training?” Austoni started.

Austoni knew quite well that magi of the fifth and sixth ranks were qualified to engage in real world field training. The Ernst Institute also strongly encouraged this practice.

Austoni couldn’t help but sigh.

He didn’t expect that despite rushing to the Ernst Institute so enthusiastically, this would be the end result.

“Then milords magi, I will take my leave.” Austoni bowed respectfully. Those magi all nodded casually towards him, signifying acceptance, and no longer paid him any heed. All of them began to excitedly chat amongst themselves.

“I didn’t imagine that this kid Linley is so formidable…”

All of these magi instructors were unable to stop praising Linley who, without anyone knowing, was able to qualify to have a private booth at the Proulx Gallery.

   They found themselves in a huge room that looked like a dining room with small square tables and four chairs around each. There were girls and boys in pairs around most of the tables, chatting to each other and having some of the lunch leftovers. Everyone seemed completely calm. It looked like the dining room at Caroline's school. The one she used to have her lunch at every day at the exact same time. 
"That is so damn sick and bizarre."
She kept looking over her shoulder expecting those men to appear from somewhere again and do the same horrible thing to her, but it was completely quiet and peaceful all around her. 
'We usually come here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.' Elsa began to explain. 'There,' she pointed, 'is the buffet, where you choose what to eat. There is a specific menu for each day. We have no right to claim. But the food is good, actually.' Elsa shrugged. 'Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I'm sure they will accept you with full arms and you will immediately make a lot of friends. I can't wait to introduce you to my best friend Veronica.'
'How long have you all been in here?'
'What do you mean?' Elsa laughed. 'We live here. This is the only place I know. I always wanted to go to Paris, though. I've only seen it in the movies. The ones we watch on Saturday at 7pm. But they tell us that our time has not come yet.' Elsa said with a slight smile on her face. She has accepted everything as absolutely normal. 'I don't stop dreaming for a minute. And I believe that everything I want will come true one day.'
'But Elsa, where are your parents?'
'I am afraid I still don't know what you mean? We are all one big family here. All of the older people, who provide food for me and teach me various things, are my family. They are my parents.'
'Okay, let's assume you're right,' She tried to swallow the fact that it all sounded more than absurd. 'but I meant your biological parents?"
'Biology is a very relative science.' Elsa sighed. 'It studies the human body, its mode of action, its organs. Every living organism is an object of study. Whether directly or not. I am inclined to say, after the years of study I have spent here, that we cannot always trust this science. You say biological parents. But what does that actually mean? The fact that someone caries out another human organism in their womb does not make them parents. Some of them will deliver a baby and then leave the baby to die! And you call those parents? I was raised by all these people here, so I dare to say they are my parents. They help me.
'Elsa, you shouldn't say that.' Caroline was so confused with what she was hearing. 'I'm sure whoever your real parents are, they love you. Whatever fate you had and whatever has happened to you in the past, always remember that there is a reason for it and behind every action sits a logical explanation.' 
'Whatever. Let's keep moving.' She changed the subject and ignored Caroline's advices. 'That door over there,' she pointed again, 'leads to the toilets. They are divided into "male" and "female". You will see the signs. Oh! I almost forgot to mention. One of the rules is..' She looked around and lowered her voice. 'We are not allowed to call boys in our rooms. Ever. The same goes for them - so don't try to cheat.' She giggled.
Boys were the last thing Caroline would think about right now. She was more concern about what this place was and how to get out as soon as possible. She looked around, but saw nothing that might help her with that. Not a single door or a window, leading out. The only window she noticed was almost ceiling-high, leaving her hopeless again. 
"Who would come up with such an idea!? For God's sake!"
 Even if she potentially could've reach it, there was a thick grid she had to go through first. So she came to the conclusion that unless she is some version of a Super Woman or a Wonder Woman, she has no chance.
'How many of you live here?'
'Judging by the room numbers, I think we must be about 102 at the moment.'
'102?' She stared at her with her mouth open 'Really? God, that is a lot of people. A lot of kids. This is awful.'
'Don't be so dramatic.' She waved her hand in the air. 'What's wrong with that? You know what they say - "The more the better"'. She laughed at her own joke and continued walking. Caroline didn't find it funny at all.
'Come on, follow me. I have more to show you.'
The two girls continued the "tour". The next corridor looked exactly the same as the previous one they had passed.
'Why is everything around white and looking the same? Like a madhouse?' Elsa turned back to her dramatically and lowered her voice.
'I don't recommend you use that word. Especially in front of them.' 
'Who are "them" that you don't stop talking about?'
'They are a lot. You will meet them when they think you are ready. Or they might already have.' She shrugged, without giving her any explanation. 
Caroline didn't have a clue what Elsa was saying. She couldn't get any information out of her. No matter how hard she tried, no matter what questions she asked, Elsa always answered in the most ambiguous way possible, and Caroline not only didn't understand anything, but she was even more confused at the end. 
The two girls reached a room with several modern computers. Caroline thought that maybe this was her chance to find a phone and call her parents.
'This is the so called gaming room. Not a big of a deal. Most of the functions of the computers are disabled. There are only a few games we can play. That's all.' She lifted her shoulders, showing no interest in showing her around this room. 'Let me take you to the library.'
'No, no, wait,' Caroline grabbed her arm. 'I love computers. Show me more.' She insisted, hoping to see a phone or find a way to use one of the computers to connect with her family. Elsa looked at her, curiously.
'What? I like playing games.'
'Really? I thought that's boy stuff' Elsa laughed.
'I wouldn't say so.' Caroline replied, laughing mockingly, as she had nothing to support her "love" to the games. She couldn't even name one.   
'Well..' Elsa thought for a second 'Alright then, I'll show you what I know, but keep in mind that it's not much. I'm not a big fan of technology. I'm one of the readers. I spend most of my time in the library.' She said proudly and began to lead Caroline around the room. 
'This is the main computer.' She pointed to the huge monitor in the middle of the room. 'It is locked with a password and only certain people have access to it at a certain time. The other few are just ordinary computers. Come on, I'll show you.' 
"What does she mean by ordinary computers? Aren't they all the same with the same purpose and stuff?"
Caroline followed her, but her eyes and mind were somewhere else.
'When you click on this icon, a folder opens.' Elsa sat down on the big office chair in front of the computer. 'Here, you will see all possible entertaining games.' She was spinning left and right with the chair, as she explained. 'On the very, very rare occasions when it happened for me to come here, for some reason, I play this one.' Elsa double-clicked on a small card icon. A red box opened on the screen with randomly arranged cards. 
'Here. Your aim is to arrange the cards this way.' She began to show Caroline exactly what to do.
   Meanwhile, Caroline was not only looking away, but she wasn't listening to her either. She was taking small steps back, then on a side, trying to see something.
'Well, that's it. I suggest we go to the library now.'
'Already?'
'Why are you so interested in this room? You weren't even listening to me when I was explaining to you.' Elsa snapped.
'Of course I was.' She lied. 'Okay, come on, let's go to the library.' Caroline agreed, worried that Elsa would get bored and her only hope would evaporate. She couldn't wait any longer. She wanted to get out of this place at all costs and as soon as possible. That's why this tour was useful for her to learn and remember the corridors and the ways to each room.
'Okey-dokey. We have reached the library.' Elsa stretched her arms and inhaled deeply as she was enjoying the smell of books. 'This is the place I worship. I would say I spend more time here than in my room. I go there just to sleep.'
"Yeah, I've noticed."
'I see.'
'What about you? Do you like books?'
'Yes. I do like reading.'
'What type exactly?'
'Everything that manages to keep my interest for longer then two minutes, I guess. Mostly novels or thrillers. I love tense stories.'
'So fiction?'
'Y-yeah.' Caroline answered, slightly embarrassed that she didn't fully understand the question at first. 
'I like science books.' Elsa rushed to say. And although Caroline didn't ask anything more, she kept explaining. 
'Also the biographical ones. I love autobiographies. I like to read about scientists from some time ago, about experiments - old and new inventions. Leonardo Da Vinci, for instance. He is my idol. He had sanity (at least for a while), and a razor-sharp mind. He was himself and did whatever he wanted and whenever he wanted. He didn't follow rules. He was his own master. He hasn't stopped studying and exploring every single living and non-living particle around him. Until his last breath. Isn't it amazing?'
Caroline's mind was somewhere else again and she didn't heard a word of what Elsa was saying. 
'Yes, yes. That's right. Absolutely.' She nodded, having no idea who was Elsa talking about. 
'Here, in this section you will find books from the 17th century. The next, is with books from the 18th century and so on, to these days.' She was pointing as they walked next to the bookshelves. 
'Come on, hurry up.' She rushed Caroline. 'It's time to go back to our room. The inspection will begin shortly.'
'What inspection?'
'They're just checking to see if we're all here. Which is a bit silly, I dare to say. Who would want to escape from here?' Elsa laughed and walked down the hall. Me?! A madhouse, a den of cannibals, and now they are checking us like prisoners ?! What else will happen in this place?
   The tour was quite disappointing for Caroline. She couldn't find a single window or a door to escape from, nor could she find a phone. The computers in the gaming room did not have access to the Internet, so she couldn't use them to reach her family either.
   The two girls walked to their room. Elsa at the front and Caroline following her, checking over her shoulder to see if anyone was following them. She was worried about the inspection. What if those people do the same thing again?
   After a few minutes, they reached the room. Caroline went inside and immediately a cold sweat began to flood her forehead.
"Something bad is going to happen, I can feel it."
    At that very moment, the door behind them slammed shut and a muffled siren sounded. Caroline curled up on the bed again, burying her head in her knees, and covering her ears with her hands. She swayed back and forth, not wanting to hear. She didn't want anything to happen to her. Please stop. Please stop. Just stop.
Then the door opened.
'You, miss.' A rough male voice. Caroline raised her head. The man was pointing at her. 'Come with me.'
'No, I'm not coming anywhere with you.' She shook her head, clinging to the blanket.
'I think you didn't understand me.' The man cut off. 'This is not a request.' He said and headed for her.
'No.. What are you going to do with me?'
The man approached her and grabbed her arm.
'Let me go!' The man was terrifyingly huge and Caroline's attempts to escape were futile.
Elsa stood by her bed, watching.
'Elsa?' She looked at her. Eyes full of hope. 'Elsa! Do something. Please. Are you really going to let them take me again just like that?' Elsa stared blankly at her without saying a word.
The man put a black bandage over Caroline's eyes and dragged her somewhere.
When they reached the designated place, the man removed the blindfold from her eyes.

At first glance, Caroline is an ordinary teenager. She is In love with life and ready for new experiences. But is she really ready for what is about to happen to her?

What will people who claim to "love" her do when they find out what she really is? Will they support her or will they turn against her?

Bump!
The little girl kneeled suddenly, followed by Violent Bear and the other knights. Grimm had disguised himself as Cobra, so he also dropped to his knees.
"Devil Lord. I'd like to give you 100 souls in the hope that you'll pull off your sorcery and conceal my energy waves. This way, your most loyal servant would be able to collect more souls," the little girl stuttered in a respectful voice as if to say she'd dedicate everything to the Devil Lord. Afterwards, the girl threw the several black stones she had gathered into the mirror.
The mirror rippled like fluid mercury, and ten minutes later, these stones had merged into it.
"Nice tribute! Your wish will be realized then!" The Devil Lord sounded delighted.
As the Lord's voice died away, a pure, wondrous energy appeared around the little girl and started flowing into her body slowly.
The girl became ecstatic and intoxicated. She couldn't help but murmur something, her face blushing.
A short while later, the negative energy circling the girl had been hidden, at least hidden perfectly in the eyes of Grimm, who was a sorcerer student.
"Thank you Devil Lord for such a generous award!"
The girl looked down, and confirmed the absence of her negative energy. She then kneeled again before the Devil Lord in the mirror.
As Grimm followed suit and fell on his knees again, he was quickly analyzing what this so-called Devil Lord was.
Actually, he was just a creature residing in a foreign world. Through some unknown means, he had connected to the sorcerer world and had been instigating these innocent children here to collect human souls, which seemed to be the unique properties of the sorcerer world to him.
This scene reminded Grimm of a legendary novel he had once read in his childhood.
In the book, these devils seduced humans to commit sins by promising them great power in return; these humans ended up with their souls being eaten by the devils. And the process involved the important 'Devil Pact'.
At the time, Grimm felt perplexed about what to do next. He thought:
'This foreign world creature is powerful to have imposed his will on the sorcerer world. But this will transfer has been hindered somewhat by world's physical forces, and it's hard for him to even pick up a few stones. Apparently, this Devil's projected will can't exercise much power, neither can the black sorcerer guards. Then, should I do something now?'
Grimm hesitated for a long time and finally gave up on this idea.
On one hand, it was Grimm's first time encountering a foreign land creature carrying out his will in the sorcerer world, the process of which he had little knowledge about. So, rash actions would not be suggested since it was unclear how the Lord had achieved this transfer.
On the other, what would Grimm get even if he targeted the Devil Lord? What he would gain might be negatively proportioned to what he would have to pay.
In effect, Grimm had a better choice to go with. He had decided to leave this complex matter to his mentor Peranos after returning to Black Isotta. This, in his opinion, was beyond a student's ability to deal with!
Having thought about this, Grimm caught up to the little girl, who was on her way out of the hall.
Suddenly, something happened.
"Wait!"
Devil Lord in the mirror made a strange sound. The group turned about and found his blue eyes were glowing brighter and were dwelling on "Cobra". He seemed to have discovered something special in him.
"You! Yes, you! Your soul's life information is different. Come closer!" In his rapturous voice, Devil Lord urged Grimm to come forward to him.
"Me?" replied Grimm with astonishment.
"Hurry up, go!" The little girl looked excited and urged, "The Devil Lord wants you. This is an honor thousands of people have been crying for!"
The girl pushed the already stunned "Cobra" forward, and Grimm was now facing the mirror less than a meter away.
A deafening sound was heard as if a fire had gone off and then it went silent. A short while later, a delighted voice said, "A fantastic soul! A great soul!"
The Devil Lord then continued his murmuring with the kind of excitement that could only be seen when a gourmet had tasted some rare delicacy or a lecher had come across a gorgeous beauty.
Meanwhile, amazement filled Grimm's eyes. He seemed to have discovered something special about Devil Lord, too. Desires were burning in Grimm's mind, and even with his ability to conceal feelings, his face was displaying great possessiveness.
"A motivator! It would work perfectly to activate my Fire Element Sorcery Matrix. It matches so wonderfully. This is simply a miracle! I'm gonna get it from this foreign land creature. I'm definitely gonna get it!" Grimm had gone frenzied. For him, this creature was now a treasure!
If it had not been the fact that Grimm didn't have sufficient power, he'd absolutely capture this element creature right now and throw him into his lab at all costs, even if the cost would be to invade this creature's world.
The next moment, these two people who harbored evil ideas exchanged eye contact.
The Devil Lord initiated a conversation. "Are you craving for greater power? With it, you could readily destroy those who have bullied you!"
Grimm was exalted on hearing this. It was the exact words that had been used by the devils in the book to seduce people, and now it was being used in reality.
Bump!
Grimm prostrated on the ground. He then crawled slowly towards the screen, displaying repulsive desires and yearning on his face, as the loyal servants depicted in the biographical novels would do.
As Grimm had arrived at the mirror, he cried, "I am! I want power! I do. Dear Devil Lord, can you teach me how to gain great power?"
Grimm's mimicry was vivid. He looked a lot like the novel heroes who were mad about greater power.
The Devil Lord seemed to have expected this, and his soul waved pleasantly.
"Give me your soul when you die, and I will pass on to you the great power! My disciples tell me that your world is ruled by a class composed of arrogant sorcerers, isn't it? I don't know how exactly their power is graded, but the power I'm giving you is no weaker than the power of a corresponding sorcerer level."
The Devil Lord continued with his seduction.
"No weaker than sorcerers' power level? Knowing so little about the sorcerer world? Fearless is indeed based on ignorance!" Grimm became relieved now.
Grimm maintained his debased expressions and said gratefully, "What's the use of my soul if I'm dead? I'm willing to give you my soul, but how can I deliver it to you?"
Grimm kept on his longing, excited expressions, and a voice was roaring in his head. "Say the Devil Pact! Say the words!"
"You'll be all set once you sign the Devil Pact." A thrilled voice came off from the screen.
Grimm was contented on hearing the Devil Lord say the word "pact" as he had expected.
For the next half an hourglass, the mirror was in a constant flux, like flowing mercury. A leather paper belonging to some unknown creature was squeezing its way out of the mirror, and it should be the Devil Pact depicted in those legendary stories.
In biographical novels, all signers of the Devil Pact would gain great power in a short period of time, but would end up with horrible deaths, and after that, their souls would be served as food for these devils.
All in all, this pact was a miraculous, yet cursed item, and had been commonly used by the villains.
The moment this pact finally broke off from the mirror, Grimm caught sight of a ball of black flame throbbing on it. Grimm guessed that it was its blood, tantamount to humans'.
"Sign this pact, and you'll…"
Before the Devil Lord had finished talking, a loud sound thundered, and immediately, sounds of glass shattering were heard at every corner of the hall.
Everybody—the little girl, the knights, and the guards who had come to check what was going on— were all shocked to their very core. The next moment, they rubbed their eyes and squinted at the broken pieces of the huge mirror.
They then shifted their gaze to Grimm. They had no idea why this lucky guy—being favored by Devil Lord—would do such a thing as break the mirror. At one point, they thought they had been under an illusion.
Grimm retracted his fist and picked up the pack on the ground.
At this time, a strong energy wave came off from the shattered pieces, and then, an angry voice thundered, "What have you done?! Don't you want power?!"
Grimm snorted. "You stupid foreign land creature! You know nothing about sorcerers' power! How dare you collect innocent humans' souls in the sorcerer world! I'll report this to my mentor!"
"You sinister, insidious human! You've just deceived the Dark Destroyer Infernal God! I've memorized your soul's life information and the coordinates of your world. I'll invade it and find you. Your soul would be then enclosed in the foul, squalid pig's belly forever. And I' ll…"
The Dark Destroyer Infernal God's roar coming from the broken mirror was discontinued suddenly. Without the mirror, his will transfer couldn't be sustained for long.
"An invasion against the sorcerer World?" Grimm laughed boisterously, wondering which remote place did this ignorant fool come from.
In the bigger, endless world, there should be civilizations capable of invading the sorcerer world. However, it had merely encountered two civilizations in its history, let alone one that was powerful enough to invade!
Since this Lord was able to project his will onto the sorcerer world, it could be concluded that his world was not that far away. But there were definitely no other civilizations around the sorcerer world. Otherwise, there would be no peace.
Besides, the sorcerer world was always the initiator of an invasion, not vice versa!
However, the Dark Destroyer Infernal God's remarks did remind Grimm of something. He picked up a piece of the broken glass and stuck it into his robe.
'Perhaps, his world's coordinates might have been recorded in this,' Grimm thought.
With a loud crash, Grimm had produced the Eternal Flame for his protection and rushed out of this underground palace.
The constitution-building mission was now over.

Deep in the mountains, there was a clearing. The entire forest was silent and the trees so dense that not even a patch of sunlight could reach the ground. It was damp and gloomy, and much of the ground was still covered in snow.
A silver-haired snakeman and a black-clothed young man held their weapons, constantly on alert.
"Uncle Zong, it has been almost an hour since we entered, yet we haven’t met even a single magical beast!"
"Sigh, you..." Zong Ling shook his head helplessly; his nephew might seem mature, but he still somewhat had the temperament of a teen. He whispered, "We only just entered the mountain and are only at the most outer part of the outer perimeter. Naturally, to encounter a magical beast here would be very unusual, but the deeper we proceed, the easier it will be to encounter one! By that time, the only way to survive will be by depending on your strength."
"En."
Dong Bo Xue Ying nodded lightly.
"Sha~~~"
Dong Bo Xue Ying’s ears moved as he heard a faint sound. His arm immediately shot out and blocked the Zong Ling who was walking beside him. Rustling noises could be heard from a distant bramble as a figure with four thin black hoofs slowly appeared. Its appearance was quite similar to that of a wolf’s, but it was one foot smaller. Its body was covered with thin, black, densely-packed scales. A pair of ice-cold dark pupils looked at the two humans calmly.
"Black-Scaled Jackal?" Both Dong Bo Xue Ying and Zong Ling’s hearts tightened. They had met a troublesome magical beast right after entering the Mountain Range of Desolation.
The Black-Scaled Jackal was a magical beast of the third rank.
Black-Scaled Jackals were extremely calm but vicious creatures. They preferred to attack in groups, and their claws and teeth were covered in acute poison.
Why was it rank 3? Each individual jackal’s strength was that of a Heaven Rank Knight’s! They lived in small groups, but the group of Black-Scaled Jackals which came from the brambles in front was quite large; there were no less than thirty-five. Even a rank 4 magical beast by itself would be torn to shreds.
"This is troublesome." Zong Ling was somewhat nervous. "Xue Ying, you must be careful."
"En, uncle Zong Ling, protect yourself, leave them to me."
Dong Bo Xue Ying took a deep breath, his breathing adjusting to become stabler and stronger. He stared at this group of Black-Scaled Jackals.
These numerous Black-Scaled Jackals started to separate, surrounding Dong Bo Xue Ying and Zong Ling in a fan formation. Being stared at by so many pairs of dark red eyes at the same time… Dong Bo Xue Ying’s heart was slightly anxious! His willpower was amazing and the level of his spear techniques were high, but it was his first time facing such formidable opponents.
Roar~~~ Gloomy and unpleasant sounds came from the Black-Scaled Jackals at the very back.
Shou shou shou!!!
All the Black-Scaled Jackals suddenly leaped and attacked from all directions. Even a Meteor knight wouldn’t be able to withstand being attacked by so many Heaven Ranked Knights on all sides at the same time.
"Die!" Dong Bo Xue Ying’s spear moved.
Shiu!
His spear flashed like lightning.
The instant his spear thrust forward, countless number of snowflakes appeared, creating an incomparably beautiful scene.
The Black-Scaled Jackal that suffered the attack immediately brandished its sharp claws to block the spear. Chi~~~ In the split second that the head of the spear was stopped, the entire spear abruptly spun, creating a torque that split open the sharp claw. Pu chi! The tip of the spear stabbed into mandible of the Black-Scaled Jackal and ran all the way through to the back of its head. The rank 3 Black-Scaled Jackal magical beast’s body twitched until finally, there was no response.
The instant it was killed, Xue Ying rapidly withdrew his spear, and like lightning, stabbed again!
His withdrawing and stabbing was like a viper flicking it’s tongue.
Pu!
Another Black-Scaled Jackal was killed on the spot.
These Black-Scaled Jackals were all experts at close-quarters fighting, but Dong Bo Xue Ying’s spear technique that had been tempered under ten years of hardship and madness was truly too formidable.
Roar roar roar~~~ A cacophony of muffled roars resounded from the Black-Scaled Jackals as they continued besieging them without slowing down at all.
Within that short period of time, Xue Ying had been able to kill three Black-Scaled Jackals. Suddenly, eight Black-Scaled Jackals simultaneously threw themselves at him!
"Get lost!"
His spear was like shadow, rapidly whipping and striking.
It was just like those long days in the past when Xue Ying thrashed the refiner dummy; now, he beat four jackals with only one wave of his spear. Another four jackals were knocked back by his reverse sweep! Xue Ying had the absolute advantage in strength, but one man could hardly win against a group. The true threat of a Black-Scaled Jackal pack was in their endless and fearless attacks.
"Xue Ying, hurry, hurry. Just run if you cannot block them." Zong Ling entwined his tail high around a nearby tree. His speed and flexibility had protected his life when he’d entered the Mountain Range of Desolation before.
"I know."
Xue Ying’s attention was highly focused.
Even though he was an expert at spear techniques, he was still affected by the pressure of being in a life or death situation. Besides, the bones and scales of the jackals were very hard. It took time to pierce and pull out, thus slowing his spear down.
"I have to move in order to avoid their siege." Xue Ying started implementing his experience from his usual training. In the castle, he often allowed a large group of soldiers to besiege him. Xue Ying fought them with his spear techniques by moving nimbly about, dodging and weaving. Of course, they were all unarmed in matches.
Hu, hu....

A short, panicked roar sounded from the pack of Black-Scaled Jackals. The remaining jackals immediately fled in different directions.
Xue Ying stopped after killing two more beasts.
"Hu, hu."
Only then did Xue Ying let out a sigh of relief. His breathing was heavy and his blood circulated quickly.
"How was it?" Zong Ling jumped down from high up.
"It was really different." Xue Ying nodded and said, "Three years ago, when I fought with the territory’s prisoner, I felt this tension as well, but that was a one-on-one battle! I have gained some insights into my spear techniques from this group battle."
Being an expert of spear technique merely signified a high level of achievement in spear techniques.
However, in a real combat, how would one know how to link together attacking, defending and their foot techniques? These were all skills learned from combat!

They didn’t care about the rank 3 beasts’ bodies. Although they carried some value, how much could they possibly carry with them? They weren’t worth the effort! As for the Xue Ying’s storage talisman,he feared that it could only store one Black-Scaled Jackal!

Gord raised his hand, creating a blue light barrier. "Mystic Magic - Barrier"

"Cough... cough... I'm sorry darling, please forgive me.... I will not do it again" Gord said.

"YOOOUUU..... for this week you will not sleep  with me at night" Eudora said angrily.

"NOOO......."

"Cough... I'm still a boy" Alucard said.

Hearing this, both of this couple stopped.

"Alucard, we could not teach you a dark magic, because it was forbidden for us, maybe it's because of your bloodline, you have the high affinity for dark magic. My wife, Eudora will be  your lightning magic mentor, meanwhile I will teach you Arcane magic. But you must attend the basic magic class first"

"What an imposing style." Alucard stood at the gateway to the Magic Academy. He couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

Just from seeing how complicated the scripts were, one could imagine how powerful and mighty the magical formation protecting the Magic Academy was

Right now, the main gate of the Magic Academy was a very lively place. There was an row of academic staff, and a single youth who had brought his admission letter and his proof of identity and had begun to be processed for intake. Alucard immediately grabbed his own documents and headed in for processing as well. Although he was late for one semester, he found out that the new semester didn't start. 


"School officially starts February 9th. Today is February 8th. Based on the notification, students must arrive before February 9th. Since the young man in front of me is also just arriving today, no doubt he also lives rather close to the Institute." Alucard thought to himself.

"Boooom ....." suddenly the big explosion happened in the hall. From the smoke, a 6 years old loli appeared and ran away from the smoke, followed by some teachers.

"Somebody cacth her"

"Noooooo.... Gloom is my friend. He is not enemy" Lylia said angrily, but no matter what Lylia did, she couldn't stop those magicians from attacking Gloom and her. 

"You call this demon a friend? Do you know that your void monster was formed with Huge Dark Magic."

More magicians gathered together and shot countless magic to gloom. this made Gloom very angry.
