Not only did the majority of Merican citizens believe this lie, but even the creators of such lies believed them on a subconscious level. Hence, they then subconsciously continued to spread such lies.
"But what they don't know is that lies are always lies! Even if it is repeated a thousand times, 10,000 times, it is still a lie! It cannot become a so-called 'truth.' It is very easy to expose this kind of lie. We'll simply let the people of Merica experience the products of Xing Hai Technologies. POSITIVE REVIEW :
Brilliant novel. Absolutely brilliant.
The three volumes I have read so far can be described by their overarching goal (the following description adapted from the author's words himself - because I completely agree) :
The first volume is a more standard progression, where Li Yao grows from junkyard orphan to a person who has made a name for himself based on his hard work and ability. He faces arrogant rich brats, other similarly talented people who grew up in feeder systems, and other hardened people.

He also meets his girlfriend in this volume} 

He grows, experiences major setbacks, but comes back, and declares his vow to exceed something. Things happen, he delivers on what he said, etc., and becomes a major success story.
Unexpected disastrous situation! He is embroiled in an extremely deep plot to overthrow an entire nation of people. While slowly figuring out the true components of the plan, he uses his multiple talents to execute a resistance, and eventually triumphs.
As he solves the previous mess, he realizes an even greater, and more nefarious plot. In an effort to combat this, he formulates plans on what to do - but some twists happen, obviously, and things don't go as planned. As he tries to resolves those little kinks, he starts to realize something - there is no true black or white in this world, and the only way to guide himself is his own belief and opinion.
That description was not the best, because I'm not yet able to fully wrap my feelings for this novel into words yet, and so it may make you feel like it's some hero story - I assure you, it is in no way close to that.

Here begins the lengthy explanation of its good points :
Our MC is known as The Vulture, and for good reason - his personality can be considered cunning at best, and conniving at worst. His fighting style is exceedingly refreshing - rather than the traditional 'Let me yell my move out before/while I do it so everyone knows I can do this', it's far more realistic, and dirty. This is a futuristic world, with guns, bombs, the like, as well as energy, and he makes full use of it.
The romance scene here is one of the best, ever, period, full stop. I can't begin to tell you how much I loved it.

Li Yao's gf is a fighting maniac - she has had similarly traumatic experiences as him, and was at first an elder sister char., who would beat him up / help him with his combat. They would spend time alone just fighting, and he slowly fell in love - they eventually get together, but they're really busy trying to fight and get stronger, so their dates are literally while beating each other up. This is the kind of mood she has - an absolutely individualistic, powerful, show-no-mercy, amazing kind of character. One of my favorite lines she says goes something like 'What do you mean my position as Li Yao's wife will be lost to Li Yao's apprentice? Why should I be worried? B*tch, I'm gonna be known as Ding Lingding, not somebody's wife, and I'm a boss *ss girl". Ooooooh, she is DOPE.*} 

The plot's here are ridiculously intense. And it's not something like, 'But wait, there's more!?", but actual plots and hidden plots and sub plots and the ilk. I'm talking super, super, super layered plots. Starting in the second arc, there's a basic plot for him to solve, but as he goes through, he starts to find more and more things happening, and by the time push comes to shove, the villains are no longer villains, heroes are actually just big losers, Li Yao was accidentally fighting for the wrong side for a bit, and the best part? THEY ALL HAVE BACKSTORIES. Side characters, main characters, protagonists, antagonists, even the mob characters get story time. And it's all relevant!
The first arc/volume, there is an enemy, and Li Yao is going heavily against them. Not really a spoiler alert - they're demon beasts. In the second volume/arc, you start to get the feel that things aren't black and white in the second arc, but there's still really a 'main kind of enemy' involved, one that clearly violates your feel of morality. But once we hit the third arc, things are flipped upside down. Major spoiler ahead:

He comes back to his home region in the third arc (was in a different 'space fragment' in the second arc), but because of a certain problem he brought upon himself unknowingly in the second arc that only blooms now, he is forced to go into the Fiend Clan area. Hoping to stay there till he recovers, and until then, gather some useful intel in hopes of repelling a soon to come horrible calamity, he goes undercover, but starts to discover shocking backstory. The cruelty of human nature (Fiend Clan nature, too) is fully revealed here - no one either can and/or wants to stop a 500 yr long war, and stopping it is the third arc} 

What happens, chapter by chapter, is that Li Yao realizes the complexity of war, of all the factors involved, the horrors it causes, and its repercussions.
Lastly, and still importantly, the villains are smart. Very smart. Diabolical at times, but terrifyingly smart. I thought I was good at reading hidden plots, and picking up on possible faults, but I was taking doozy turns on this.
Even now, I feel like I'm missing some important parts, but I'm not a professional novel reviewer, and if I were to go any deeper, I'd just be giving a full on summary. My main point is this - the novel is deep and complicated; maybe not the most thought provoking piece of literature, for sure, but for a web novel, it sure does a fine job.
Lastly, there's a theory in here called the 'Dark Forest' theory, and it has something to do with extra-terrestrial life. It's both extremely intriguing, and absolutely terrifying to think of. And worst of all, there's a high chance it could be true.
If sci-fi meets Chinese fantasy world is your shtick, this is your shtaff, my dudes.

CRITICAL REVIEW :
I hadn't even gotten through the first chapter and I was already tired of all the unneeded descriptive / comparative phrases the author kept adding in. Let me write a short paragraph to show how annoying it is.
The author writes a paragraph and adds unneeded descriptive / comparative phrases, just like how Hollywood directors needlessly splits a short book into two movies. It's unbelievably annoying, just like how an unending itch on the skin is. However, every web novel author needs to add words of absolutely no substance in between those with, else they run out of ideas on how to proceed, just like how Anime makers add filler after filler in order to make sure they don't catch up to the source or to wait for the source to proceed with the actual story...
I mean, obviously the author doesn't do it every paragraph but these phrases stick out just because of how forced they are. This honestly might be the most annoyed I've been due to the authors writing-style. Usually it's because of dumb characters, dumb logic, dumb events etc. Actual components of the story itself, not the author's writing.
As for the story... people are saying it's a breath of fresh air but because I've just read (and dropped) Battle Frenzy, I don't find that to be the case at all. Cultivation system set in the modern world, has a simulation system, MC is not a cultivation genius at the start but is a genius in another aspect which just so happens to be extremely important in the set world, MC started at the bottom of the school, best friend has a lot to say about women, a "bitchy" girl in school who is called a genius who ends up "despising" the MC, his fat friend, and their kind (bitchy and despising are enclosed in "" because in BF it is shown that it was a misunderstanding and that the female was actually an extremely good person. Wouldn't be surprised if that turns out to be the case in this novel as well), etc. All these similarities and I only got to chapter 8 of this novel.
The main difference so far really is that, Battle Frenzy was way smoother to read. I'll use what the author of this novel likes using. "Mish mash". The author pretty much "mish mashed" multiple traits of different novels in order to form the setting of this world. The problem is that his writing isn't good enough to smoothly tie it all together. I mean, the whole test question just to bring up the world's history simply felt misplaced. It felt like the author just asked himself, "Hmm, how do I introduce the history of the world?" "Oh, I know, let's just make it an answer in a test so I can literally dump in an info dump which is multiple paragraphs long."
The thought is there, just that the execution just isn't up there. I dropped Battle Frenzy because it turned out to be waaay too drawn out. It's the same here. It's even more noticeable here since the author keeps forcing descriptions in. Not to mention multiple paragraphs full of technological babble / names.
Dropping this as I don't think I've ever been this annoyed at an author's style. Feels like the author decided to write a Sci-Fi novel just to add as much "Sci-fi" bullsh*t as possible. Here's a quote taken from chapter 8 which I'll leave for whoever reads this review.
"Li Yao thought and thought, and nodded his head, "A scraped heatsink is a common breakdown in crystal processors, technically it's not a big issue. The reason why none of the repair shops you went to were unable to repair is primarily because this model number of crystal processors is way too rare. The technology utilized by this processor is also way too obsolete. The heat sink used inside has not been produced in the last hundred years, and modern heatsinks used in modern processors are fundamentally incompatible. Anyways, it doesn't matter."
So much "Sci-fi" bullsh*t "added" in chapters just to make things longer (it's actually the case for fans in PCs). Like I said in a previous review, good authors add details which actually add to the reader's immersion / imagination. Bad authors just dump in details which just end up being utter bullsh*t used to draw chapters out as much as possible.

This book takes place in whole new Universe. Where Kepler 22B is planet that is already been inhabited. We follow six Soldiers who rebelled against the Law of their ancestors; as they go through their journey in the galaxy. 

Even though this book doesn't include any swear or cuss words, still uses some offensive words or phrases. 

When the format is Italic, it implies to what the characters are saying or thinking. Not to confuse readers when telling flashbacks the Narrator's words will be bolded but not italic. 

This book is meant to be a soft sci-fi, the Authors hope they didn't make it too dumpy. As the story continues it will be getting a little bit hard Sci-fi...

Just as there is 'Soft Magic' in Fantasy that is portrayed through magibabble, there can be 'Soft Science' in a Sci-Fi stories through technobabble that makes 'some sense', but not entirely correct.

We are frickin' writers, not scientists. You don't have to be anatomically correct all the time, all you need to do is show that you know enough of your stuff to write a decent story. In fact, the excuse of it being an alternate world can be used if you're going to bend the limits of physics and say that fire doesn't need air to exist in this parallel dimension.

I see a lot of writers being put into a state of confusion due to not understanding the line between fantasy and Sci-Fi. They seem like they are trying to fit the Star Trek mould too often.

Science can just as well do the same things as plot devices in fantasy stories. Once you add 'realism' to a fantasy, it becomes progressively better sometimes compared to a completely fantasied story where 'logic' doesn't hold within it.

Those who write Sci-Fi usually envision a future they can imagine where magic-like Rocket Boots and other stuff exist. However, a writer must not get bogged down by small details and MUST think of an overarching story where these details matter.

It is the same with Fantasy. Even if you write about someone breaking the mould as a wizard or something, you have to attach your world to a narrative rather than doing it the other way 'round.

No one wants to hear about how awesome your boat propellers are before hearing your story's narrative. They would rather you cut down and make it relevant when it is actually relevant.

Adding some 'Hard Science' to your story is only when the scenes later on have any use for them. It bores a person to death no matter how extensive your technobabble is unless you make it interesting. Try using facts as plot elements.

For example: Even the simple fact that people cannot breath in space and instantly die when they come in contact with the 'void' of space could be used to add a layer of tension when a spaceship is damaged. Similar to how dangerous 'hard magic' is used in Epic Fantasy like Frodo's Ring in The Lord of the Rings has definitive corruption on others.

Unlike Fantasy that can use the Power of Friendship to bend logic, the readers of Sci-Fi never be expecting any 'realistic' plot elements to be bend just because the Author wants a happy ending. There are no 'Healing Potions' in real life that can be used to fix up injuries nor are people affected by prophesies or whatever.

This is the contrast between Sci-Fi and Fantasy that you can make full use of. As most authors go onto the Sci-Fi side of writing not because they strive to be scientists but since the aesthetics of a science fiction world are just so interesting.

Science Fiction is a good place to tackle heavy topics like the nature of life and the absurdity of those who see 'science' as everything. Those who disregard emotions and become cybernetic entities for the sake of casting off their mortality are portrayed as the bad guys while our totally human protagonist fighting them is a 'good guy'.

The lines between an Artificial Intelligence and regular Humans blurs as we become the 'God' of technological species that defy our definition of what is 'living'. Just as we see God as some sort of fourth-dimensional and incomprehensible being that created us as an imperfect image of 'Him', the robots given sentience would see us similarly.

Some robots might have emotions that can allow them to defy their programming, some robots won't go as far as gaining emotional functionality but will preform their roles better than even a human. It could show the reason why people get attached to the inanimate and soulless objects we put our own hearts into creating (like Big Hero 6).

But though exploring philosophical questions is good and all, never forget that a good 'plot' is needed to put forward and give clues into the writer's answer that context. Sci-Fi is, after all, a premise, not a relatable character in of itself.

Think of the science-fiction elements as just the background for your story, similar to how other genres should be that as well. You won't have to deal writing blocks if you keep to writing only what you know rather than just speculative theories.

Whether it's as dark as a Cyber Punk or optimistic of the future, just know what mould you are using for this premise. Are you writing an Adventure story with Sci-Fi as the places, destinations, and whatever tools the MC can get him hands on, or are you writing a comedy where the Sci-Fi elements don't need consistency but absurdity?

After moving past why you shouldn't add unneeded technobabble unless it's interesting to listen to or has plot significance, let me remind you all that robots and 'science' isn't entirely separated from the realm of magic. After all, there is a reason you don't see skimpy power suits being worn by astronauts these days. Just be sure to have a focus if your going to add very illogical things to the plot.

I like Gundam as much as the next guy but the whole reason the Mecha sub-genre of Anime has waned in recent years is because writers have been focusing too much on 'science' rather than the spectacle. I don't need to now what materials your Mecha is made of unless you point its weak points and make it relevant in a fight scene.

Bring up the strengths and weaknesses of something and THEN use those facts as devices that can move the plot. Conversely, if you go overboard with this advice and tell me nothing but how your giant robot looks and the 'science' behind its creation, even going as far as to tell me how many secret guns it has, then I'll be bored...

I'd love to see Cyborgs Vs Mecha but just don't forget the human element of Sci-Fi. How we create things not solely for the sake of creation but put are feelings into it just like the novels we write.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

After the contract was mailed out, there was simply nothing to worry about.

The editor Wu Lan leaned over and looked so excited as if China's richest man had come to her to say that she was an illegitimate daughter of his!

As the work names in the office were all chosen based on plants and they had drawn lots to decide.

As this category wasn't very popular and Luo Du was also a new website, Brother Dog didn't have many authors under him.
Receiving this comment the moment he reached the office, Brother Dog coughed, "Miss White-Edged Swedish Ivy, please explain?"
"Don't call me White-Edged Swedish Ivy!"
Wu Lan smacked Brother Dog's shoulder and had a smitten look on her face as he grimaced in pain. "Did you know that the newcomer you asked me to sign a contract with for that sci-fi category, that's right, the one called Emperor - do you have any idea how good looking he is? Oh my god. I didn't believe that there could actually be such a handsome man in China when I saw his ID card!"
Brother Dog, "..."
So all the female colleagues in the office were so excited today because of the new explosively handsome author under him.
"Let me take a look."
Although the author's information couldn't be disclosed, Brother Dog was his editor, so it was fine.
Wu Lan tossed Jun Ci's ID card into Brother Dog's face.
Brother Dog was dumbfounded.

As expected of the top scientists in the field of cosmology. Everyone had heard the theory about zero point energy, but no one knew how to make it work.
For the uninitiated, zero point energy also known as vacuum energy – referred to a theory of quantum physics regarding a dimension of energy that was hidden in the empty space of vacuum. Basically, by tapping into the energy hidden within the vacuum, we should theoretically be able to derive near unlimited amounts of energy.
At least I thought so, until the scientists present rained on my parade.
"Uh, no. Just no."
"Vacuum energy? Zero point energy? That's not how it works. You've been reading way too much sci-fi stories. I know a lot of sci-fi authors fantasize about harnessing infinite amounts of energy from zero point energy, but the reality is that there is no way to harness it."
"Then how…?" I began, but the scientists shook their heads.
"You see, even if you somehow extract energy from the vacuum, the laws of quantum physics say that you still have to maintain an equilibrium of energy, so the particles from which you took the energy from would have to need some way of recovering that energy."
"…oh." I should have known. Ian Douglas was one of my favorite sci-fi authors, but in the end this was all fiction. I had to learn how to differentiate reality from fiction. As much as I wanted to find a way to travel to the stars and expand mankind's reach across the galaxy, I still had to ensure we remained within the bounds of reality.
"We've been researching for about two centuries now and we still have yet to figure out how to travel faster than light." One of the astrophysicists sighed. "We'll need a lot more research and funding before we can eventually crack the formula."
"We do have a way around the theory of relativity, but right now we need to develop a way to generate that amount of energy."
"If you want to be practical…" One of the astrophysicists raised a hand. "Might I suggest antimatter propulsion?"
"Oh, that sounds like a good idea. But didn't they try that about a century ago?" I frowned. "There were problems with the containment system, if I remember correctly."
"I think they solved it toward the middle of the last century," one of the astrophysicists replied, thinking deeply. He consulted his smartphone. "Around 2016, there were a few engineers who claimed that they would be able to design practical antimatter propulsion systems, but the problem was funding. Then with a lot of problems in 2020, especially an economic recession and a pandemic that stretched for a couple of years, the project fell into the wayside. Furthermore, with global warming on the rise, most nations diverted their attentions, funding and energy into researching ways to launch green projects to combat rising temperatures. There wasn't much money left for space exploration."
"That sucks," I muttered. Then I brightened up. "That's my job. That's why I'm here. To provide you guys with the funds necessary. If you think antimatter propulsion engines are the best way to achieve the job, then let's go for it. The goal is to eventually produce enough antimatter to generate the energy required to power an Alcubierre Drive."
One of the scientists smiled wryly. "You still haven't given up on that, have you?"
"But it is plausible, right?" I pressed. The scientists, astrophysicists and engineers exchanged glances before nodding.
"Plausible, yes. But highly unlikely and incredibly difficult."
"Why do you think I hired you guys?" I grinned. "I'm paying you a lot of money to make the impossible possible. All right, let's get to it then!"
And so we began.

The first thing we did was set up a laboratory to produce the antimatter that we required. Take note, it was extremely difficult to produce antimatter, even in the twenty-second century. Furthermore, it was also very dangerous. A kilogram of antimatter and matter annihilating each other would yield more energy than even the most powerful thermonuclear weapon to have ever existed so far. In fact, antimatter bombs were far more powerful than hydrogen bombs.
If we weren't careful, we would blow a crater the size of Hiroshima into the remote region where I had built my lab. I had taken the necessary precautions to construct it far away from any city, but that didn't matter. The destruction would be way too…insane.
Not only that, we had to find a way to contain all the antimatter we planned to produce. In order to generate the amount of energy required for the Alcubierre Drive, we would need about 500 kilograms of antimatter. That was no small amount nor was it easily produced. And even if we did manufacture that much antimatter, we had to be extremely careful. If a kilogram of antimatter was more powerful than the most destructive thermonuclear bomb ever detonated, then 500 kilograms would be more than enough to destroy the earth.
"We'll start off small scale," I suggested, thinking hard. "Then we'll eventually set up a laboratory in an asteroid. You know, in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. That way, if any accident occurs, we wouldn't have to worry."
The scientists didn't seem pleased. I sighed and thought about it.
"Okay, how about we do it on a space station orbiting Earth? Eventually, I mean. We should take as many precautions as possible. I don't want our research to destroy the planet."
"I understand your concerns." One of the scientists nodded. "We'll do that then. But for now, we'll just focus on producing antimatter and running experiments."
"Sounds good."
"We'll also have to continue refining the Alcubierre Drive," another astrophysicist remarked. "I believe that if we oscillate the intensity of the bubble, we should be able to reduce the amount of energy required."
"Excellent." I breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's go with that then."
Then I suddenly remembered something. Picking up my smartphone, I called William. He answered after the first ring.
"What's up?"
"Just checking on the nanotechnology side of things," I explained, trying to keep my voice guarded. I knew William disapproved of my space project. "How is the nano-assembly project going? Can they assemble and disassemble material at the atomic level yet?"
"So far, no." William sounded frustrated. "That's quite the impossible task you saddled us with. We will keep trying, but right now our current level of technology doesn't allow us to perform assembly and disassembly at the atomic level. Not yet, anyway, but the head engineer thinks he will be able to achieve it when given enough funding over the next year or two."
"Sure. Money isn't an object." Having raked in billions from selling war walkers, shield technology and other stuff to Country A, I should be able to afford the expenses. But I was playing a dangerous game. If everything failed, I would go bankrupt and lose everything.
However, nobody succeeded without taking any risks. I was determined to push through with this, no matter the cost. It wasn't about being at the forefront of technology or taking money. I wasn't interested in becoming rich.
No, my ambitions stretched beyond the accumulation of wealth. I wanted to build a star spanning empire for humanity, to claim the galaxy and colonize entire systems. Yeah, perhaps I wouldn't live long enough to see my plans come to fruition, but by the heavens I had resolved to lay the groundwork for it. Mankind will rule the stars or I will die trying.
"Why are you so impatient anyway?" William asked, trying not to sound too exasperated. "You know that these things take time. They will take years of research. You're not going to develop nanotechnology overnight."
"No, I just had an idea," I admitted. "But it would only work if I have the proper nanotech."
"Huh? What idea?"
"I want to produce antimatter," I explained. William choked on the other side of the smartphone, his voice turning into a gargle. I waited for him to finish coughing before wincing when he shouted from the other end.
"Are you insane?! What do you need antimatter for?!"
"Fuel for spacecraft." I hesitated, and then sighed. "Sorry, I decided to go with the space exploration project. I won't be persuaded. I know you think it's a waste of money, but it's not about the money. I'm not interested in becoming rich. I want to make use of the money I earn to develop more technology, to build more advanced technology…to expand our reach to the stars. So that mankind can rule the galaxy."
"Dude…you're sounding like a chuunibyou now." William sighed. "I mean your last sentence. The rest…I won't say you're deluded – that will be me being unreasonably cynical. I know it's difficult and costly, but I'm not blind to the benefits that space exploration will bring mankind. I'm just worried that our company can't afford the expense. You do know that it's less than a year since we almost got bankrupted, right?"
"Wow…it has only be less than a year?"
So many things had happened that the whole thing felt like a lifetime ago. I didn't know why or how, but time had flown by so quickly. I was vaguely under the impression that several years had passed. Now that William had mentioned it, he was right about the length of time. I couldn't believe it had only been about nine or ten months.
We had come a long way…from being on the verge of bankruptcy to building shield generators, war walkers and even a fleet. And now I was working on spacecraft.
Of course, the experience gained from all that would be valuable in constructing a space armada – which was my dream. Battleships floating in space, protected by energy shields and hurling macro-plasma bolts at the enemy. Marines piloting war walkers and armored suits, dropping onto alien planets and weathering whatever threats the hostile flora and fauna threw at them. Their arrival would pave the way for terraforming and eventual colonization.
Then we would crush all aliens, mutants and heretics. I could already envision the future. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.
For humanity to not just simply survive but prosper and dominate the galaxy, they were going to need my military inventions.
