Right?.... he gets the girl and together they live happily.... Right?..... The problem was that I am not the main character.... I am.... His best friend..... A supporting character whose sole function is to serve as comic relief and emotional support for the Protagonist!!!!...]

I know things are not looking up for me, when the 13th manuscript I had submitted on the Chief Editor´s desk was still being stamped as ¨REJECTED¨. Even from the view of my cramped center aisle mini desk, I could see that the ¨REJECT¨ stamp was the one Mr. Barnes slammed against my 153-page story. I just submitted it an hour ago and I don´t think he ever got past the first chapter.
I swear my chapters get better over time.
When you´re a struggling newbie writer, no one wants to take a risk on your ideas -- especially if your ideas are usually labelled as ¨too controversial¨ or ¨too feminist¨.
I swear, all these old geezers are allergic at the thought of having strong female characters. They keep wanting me to write about perfect women. And what they meant by perfect is someone quiet, prim, and beautiful. Also, having a size zero waistline and perky C cups would be best when I had to describe them.
My supervisor took my manuscript from the big boss' table and slammed it at my desk. He does not have to be so obviously disdained.
This is my first week here and I had already submitted thirteen different ideas. THIRTEEN.
They should cut me some slack for the effort.
¨I know you are a good writer, Samantha. I have seen your profile, and works in Uni. You just got to try harder with the ideas. This industry is hard. Even with your big shot parents backing you up," he lit his cigarette and puff the smoke towards my direction.
He always has something to say about my parents. Its not my fault I was born into old money. Also, I knew he liked that last story I submitted, he smiled ever so slightly on me when I told him I´m submitting the manuscript to Mr. Barnes. Was I hallucinating it?
¨Noted, Marcus.¨ I took my work at the desk and threw it at the trash bin. In all honesty, I still don´t know if Marcus Simmons is against me or supporting me. He somehow manages to motivate me while also roasting the hell out of me and my works.
He took one last puff of his cigarette before disposing it off in the bin near my desk. I hate it when he does that.
I opened my laptop and stared at the goddamn blinking cursor. Dammit.
I rummaged my bag for the perfume I stashed for this exact situation and sprayed it all over my desk and the direction of the bin. What a waste of perfectly good perfume.
But I surely can´t start this goddamn manuscript if my place reeked of Marcus. His presence is simply not motivating.
The goddamn blinking cursor mocking me for the writer´s block. I cracked my knuckles at the annoyance of it all.
I got in as an intern writer at The Pendulum, a successful production company. Some of the most brilliant minds in the art industry is from The Pendulum. The best films of the last century came from inside those halls. Every one whose everyone in the film industry knows the notoriety of The Pendulum.
Most people only appreciate the actors and actresses playing the characters, but I am much more interested in the planning of it all. After all, I've been living my life behind the scenes.
I can´t say that I did not get this coveted job without my parent´s influence or my famous sister´s help. I know I have skipped quite a few steps to get in here. I just know that I was shortlisted when they took a look at my last name. The ¨Leigh¨ clan (if you can call it that) is quite powerful in this city.
Not Samantha Leigh though, Samantha gets her 13th manuscript rejected.
Growing up, I have this dream of becoming the person to change the film industry. I´m sick and tired of all these movies showing cliche plots and weak characters all the time.
I just have to get over this hurdle and start writing something that Mr. Barnes would actually bother to read.
"Hi, you´re the intern right?" a chirpy voice took me out of my reverie.
"Yeah, that would be me. I´m Sam,¨ I offered her a handshake but the chirpy-voiced woman just looked at my hands like she´s disgusted. I awkwardly retreated my hand and laid it flat on the desk.
"I´m Rebecca, Becky to my friends, and I am your new mentor," she smiled. I can´t say it was friendly one.
¨Am I being transferred to another team, I just spoke to Marcus a while ago,¨
¨Yes. You´re under my team now. You know Marcus, he disposes off people who he thinks are not suited for The Pendulum but before he does that he sends them my way for a good beating,¨
¨What do you mean?¨ I do not like the way those words sounded.
¨Its means its your last chance before you´re off this boat,¨

¨I am working on it, Becky. I swear I have this great ide--¨ she cut me off before I could finish my rebuttal.
"You should call me Rebecca," she said like it is a matter of fact. ¨I have read your manuscript, all 153 pages and all I can say is, you need to get laid,¨
¨Excuse me?!¨ I choked on air at her bold statement. 
¨You have no expertise on love or dating for that matter, am I not right?¨
¨I can´t say that I´m an expert at dating but I have relevant experience,¨ I replied. But even I know that that statement was utter BS. ¨What does it have to do with my story anyways? I created a love story, not some smut,¨
¨Exactly my point, Samantha. How dare you write love stories when you know nothing of love?¨
No one ever really knew what Love is exactly. We each all have construed versions of it. 
¨Go out, find a date, fuck said date and then write a story about it. That is your first assignment,¨
I am not going to be a bitch for Hollywood. I walked out before Becky´s words of wisdom would include selling my body to some hotshot exec from California -- which is a really cool story idea but also would likely turn into a smut, which would in turn mean that Rebecca wins. 
I need some coffee.
I walked out of the office to go to my favorite Little Nook. No, really its a coffee shop called the Little Nook. The place is really old and small, and the tables are dusty but it smells like freshly brewed coffee and old paper all the time. Its just the perfect scent to recharge.
I should admit that I am a bitch for coffee.
¨Luke, I want caramel macchiato please," I smiled at my favorite barista. I can never order another caramel macchiato after knowing the existence of this coffee shop. They make the best ones.
80% milk, 20% coffee. Don´t ever let people tell you otherwise that this is not the golden ratio for Caramel Macchiatos.
¨You´re here again,". He is always annoyed at my presence here.
¨I´m your only regular customer, Luke. You should really give me some loyalty points,"
¨I´d rather you not come here. When you´re here, bad things usually happen,¨
I´m not a believer of superstition or any faith for that matter but thinking about all the times I´ve been in this cafe, I cringed at all the unfortunate things I have caused because I´m clumsy and always all over the place.
¨I´m so so sorry about the last time, Luke. I did pay for the espresso machine I broke right?¨
¨It was passed on from my grandfather, Sam. It can´t be paid by money, ¨ he looked at the shiny new espresso machine on the counter and sighed. He had tried to teach me how to use his espresso machine after weeks of coaxing and being my dumb self, I broke it.
It amazes me how I destroy everything I´ve touched at this point.
¨That old thing was a bother, Luke. I don´t think you are the type to believe in superstitions, you´re too young for that.  I know you´re secretly happy I bought you a new one,¨
I could see a little hint of excitement in his eyes but he masked it so well.
He deeply sighed.
¨Come on, Luke. Its not like I have anywhere else to go. Besides, I know you love having me around," I teased him and danced around the counter, knocking a few mugs along the way.
He looked at the shattered glass and with shook his head side to side.
¨Just add it to my bill,¨ I meekly said and whispered a little ´sorry´.
I handed him my card and looked at me hard -- straight into my privilege.
¨What would make you stop coming here,¨ he exasperated. He was sweeping the floor and picking up the bigger shards of glass by hand which he shouldn´t do so without gloves.
¨An idea that would keep my butt on my office chair,¨ If I had something to work on to impress the pricks at The Pendulum, I would literally be nowhere else. I can´t believe I actually said the word butt to his face.
¨I could help you with that, if that means no more mug casualty at my cafe.¨
¨Really, give me one then,¨
Just as we were about to discuss business, two rowdy teenagers entered the cafe basically screaming to each other. The pink-haired girl went straight to the counter and ordered one unicorn cloud caramel drink. I´m not sure I´ve ever heard of that drink before.
Luke looked at the new customers and smiled. I am not quite sure what that smile meant but he pointed at them and whispered to me, ¨Maybe you should ask them. They looked like the kind of kids that lived a movie-kind of life. Maybe they could give you some inspiration,¨
¨Are you kidding me? How could they ever give me inspiration,¨
¨Its not going to hurt you to try. Also, get these drinks to them and the mug is already paid for,¨ Luke handed me the unicorn drink and one black coffee. These kids have really contrasting tastes for coffee.
¨Fine,¨ I exasperated. I can´t say to any possible leads for a good story. Also, they do look like main characters.
I have this habit of judging people based on the aura that they give off.
After all, fiction is inspired by our current reality-- with just a few tweaks here and there for profitability.
I walked towards the girls´ table and trying not to trip and embarrass myself.
¨Hi, here´s your order,¨ I placed the unicorn drink and espresso shot on their table and just basically gawked at them as I am too awkward to start a conversation.
They looked at me like I was crazy. The pink-haired girl looked at me like I just ruined her day. She scrunched her nose and pretended to act like I smelled horrible -- not very main character of her.
¨Is there anything else we can help you with,¨ the girl with the espresso shot spoke. She did not even look at me.
I racked my brain for some logical excuse that I can come up with. Asking them for an idea for something to write about seems like a very lame reason even though it is the truth.
¨I am actually creating a survey and need your inputs,¨
¨Is that so?¨
Come on, Maddie. Really? A survey? I really am having a writer´s block. Damn, Rebecca would be too happy to kick me off the ¨boat¨ now.
¨Yes,¨ I tried to sound as convincing as I could. ¨Its a study on how teenagers...view..uh...modern dating?¨
Damn, Becky really got through my head. Now here I am, asking literal teenagers for dating advice. 
Pink-haired girl proceeded to laugh at me and took a sip of her unicorn flavored drink before laughing again.
¨Is that funny?¨
¨Of course it is funny and absolutely creepy to ask teenagers about modern dating. Are you perhaps interested at one of us?¨
¨No!¨ I almost screamed. This is not the turn of events I pictured out.
¨Then what?¨
¨Just a survey,¨
¨Just a survey, okay. Well, here´s a prime example of what it is,¨ Pink-haired girl stood up and walked towards the unsuspecting customer that just entered the cafe and kissed him right in the mouth. 
What in the world.
The guy looked completely taken aback but also very pleased as Pink-haired girl was really pretty. She whispered something to him and they both walked back towards us. 
¨Here´s an answer to your survey, we´re dating now,¨ Pink-haired girl announced to which espresso shot girl laughed.
I don´t know what exactly is happening but I took mental notes of this weird situation. This might come in handy when Becky decides to roast me again. I will tell her that this is exactly why I don´t date. Romance is dead in this generation. 
¨Don´t tell you´re one of those boomers that believes in ¨Romance¨ and ¨Chivalry¨ bullshit?¨ espresso shot girl suddenly asked. 

¨First, I am not a boomer. I´m just twenty three for chrissakes. Second, yes. I still believe in romance,¨ 
¨Well, here´s my answer to your little survey. Modern dating sucks. I say be a hoe and break all these men or women, I won´t judge. After breaking them or getting broken by them, capitalize on your heartbreak and write a song about them. Dedicate a whole album, if you may,¨
Why are these teenagers so angry at the world? But also, what an inspiring thing to say. 
I might just use the phrase ¨Capitalize Your Heartbreak¨ as the title of my next manuscript.

Summary


Silence truly is golden as two high schoolers have their lives forever change upon the appearance of a cup of choco Latte. After this appearance, the two seemingly can't get each other out of their head, which soon leads to a love story that will leave their entire school shaking in adorable misunderstandings and cute blushes—all without uttering a single word.


Characters


Lily: Our main heroine, Lily, is a cute, shy, and overall cheerful girl. She always tries her best with her friends, but she is also completely useless around boys.


Kyle: Kyle is a natural-born worker and protector. He seeks mainly to make all of the women in his life happy and wishes to be reliable to everyone. This makes him kind, understanding, and very brave to Lily.


Justin: Lily's childhood friend, Justin, is a goofy guy with a lot underneath his beautiful face. A pain that he hopes to alleviate with Lily considering his lifestyle as a popular Canadian idol.


Eve: A young girl who has a massive crush on Justin, Eve feels unnoticed and second-rate, which can often make her mean, standoffish, and jealous of some people. And while she has worked hard to gain popularity as a part of Justin's idol group. Which unfortunately leads to much heartbreak in the future.


Overview


Choco Latte is a lot different than most romance webtoons. As stated before, Choco Latte has absolutely no direct text or dialogue. This means that the entire story must be communicated through imagery, metaphors, emojis, and clever workarounds like text messages and news reports. All of this makes Choco Latte easily bingeable while at the same time being very clever in its execution. Which expectedly causes many little misunderstandings between the characters.


Overall the webtoon is ridiculously fucking cute. The entire series is drawn in that shoujo romance manga feeling with light colors and thin outlines to make every character adorable enough to start wars. Simultaneously, a lot of crude images and chibi models are used in the webtoon. Choco knows how to create some wallpaper worthy portraits with just how disturbingly beautifully illustrated they are. This all causes a very light, adorable tone for the series that can just relax you on a bad day.


While many of the conflicts are very low stakes and interpersonal, the story quickly devolves into your classic romance story. Love triangles and awkwardness galore come mainly from Eve and Justin's interference in Lily's relationships with Kyle. This honestly makes them my favorite characters since their deep stories cause the narrative to use more complex imagery to display their side and add spicy drama. Despite all of this, the series never makes any of the characters feel necessarily bad. They are all nice and cute characters, and I can't be mad at any of them because they're all just teenagers trying to find love, which can be very messy.

Overall, Choco Latte is a very sweet webtoon deserving of the name. It is by far one of the most innocent webtoons I've seen, and I hope it continues into its current climax. But with that out of the way, let's continue these February spotlights and shine it on something else. Because if you haven't already noticed, I'm up to read just about anything. Thank you all for the generous support you've given me because I hope to carry all that encouragement into our march to 100 spotlights!

Just a simple person is trying to shine a little light on the beautiful world of webtoon. With a splash of sarcasm, narration, and spitfire along the way.  And who knows I might have other segments just for the hell of it.

"Your dad is my best friend," Keeley said simply, unable to explain the full truth.
Violet rolled her eyes. "Well yeah, he is now but it wasn't like you were friends first. I've known Noah since we were both in diapers. That's not romantic at all."
She was going off of the romance novel and chick flick version of romance. It had to be big and flashy and over the top for it to be real. But love could be simple and sweet too.
Noah's affection was definitely more of the simple and sweet variety. So Violet, who loved reading about all of the big and flashy stuff, would easily overlook it.
Keeley's heart really went out to the kid. But she had to be on her daughter's side here; it was the principle of the thing.
"I'm sure you'll get the romance you're hoping for someday. Even if it doesn't come in the way you expect."
Violet tilted her head in confusion. "You sound like you're speaking from experience."
She laughed. Goodness knows she hadn't expected to marry the same man twice, especially after how he treated her the first time.
But Keeley was glad everything happened exactly the way it did. She wouldn't love Aaron the way she did now if not for everything they had been through together. Fate was never wrong. Things happened as they were supposed to.
"I always thought I would marry someone normal," she said with a shrug. "Not somebody whose name was known by everyone in the city. But the heart wants what it wants and ultimately it wanted your father. I don't regret my choice."
A thoughtful expression appeared on Violet's face as she went back to her book. She was digesting what her mother said.
At that moment Aaron came back, soaking wet from the waves, and picked his wife up unexpectedly. She screeched in surprise and protested because she wanted to read but he wasn't having any of it.
"Our sons ditched me so you're coming with me now," he said simply.
"Aaron! Put me down!"
"Nope."
He ended up marching all the way into the waves with her over his shoulder and made her swim around with him. Violet peeked over the cover of her book to watch with a fond and amused smile on her face.
That. That was the kind of romance she wanted someday. She wanted someone who loved her so much that they never wanted to be apart from her for even a second.

Kaleb ended up spending the majority of the vacation hanging out with other teenagers who were also avoiding their families. Violet felt a pit in her stomach every time she watched him leave. It felt oddly personal.
She ended up spending a lot of time with her parents and younger brothers. Floating down the lazy river, going on the water slides, and hanging out on the beach. She even went to the spa with her mom at one point.
"Ah, it's been a while," Keeley sighed happily as the masseuse worked her magic.
"Have you even heard of a thing called self-care, Mom?" 
"We're old friends. Very old. Haven't been in contact for a while," she joked.
Violet merely shook her head in dismay. Her mother was going to work herself to death one of these days.
"Seriously, are you ever going to relax?"
"When my treatment gets approved by the FDA, probably," Keeley admitted. 
She really did care way too much about her brother. Though Violet could relate. Her current issues with her brother had consumed her entire life.
Getting approved by the FDA would take years. Her mother hadn't even moved to the second phase of the approval process yet. By the time it happened, Violet might very well be out of high school. Was she seriously not going to relax until then?
"Dad's going to make you quit if you work too hard," she predicted.
Keeley shook her head. "No, he supports my research dreams more than anyone. He wouldn't do that."
Sometimes Violet wondered how her father could be so overprotective of his wife but still let her run herself into the ground. By all means, it didn't make sense.
Passion ran in her family's blood. Her mother was passionate about her research. Her father was passionate about her mother. Kaleb was passionate about baseball and Oliver was passionate about outer space. Nathan hadn't found his passion yet but once he did, they would all have one.
Hers was dance. It was the only time she felt like she could truly express herself in front of others. Ballet wasn't all about grace and elegance. She had seen some choreographed modern ballet that was as fierce and choppy as it was beautiful.
Sometimes she felt like classical ballet suited her. Other times the raw excitement of contemporary ballet matched her mood better. Either way, ballet was an art form where she could get all of her feelings out.
If her mother felt anywhere as strongly about her research as Violet did about ballet, she could understand why she would work herself to death. And if her father loved her mother enough to understand that, of course he would let her get away with it.
"I want to take driver's ed," Violet announced.
She wouldn't be able to physically get her learner's permit until September because you had to be fifteen and a half but she wanted to start the process. Being able to drive would allow her mother some breathing room.
"I can sign you up as soon as we get home," Keeley said with a yawn. The massage was making her sleepy.
Good. Violet wanted to be more self-sufficient. She also wanted to be more useful to the ones she loved. Noah wasn't the only one who felt like he didn't do enough. Maybe if she was more useful she could convince them that she was enough, even if she did fail.
Maybe if she wasn't so needy Kaleb would want her around again. If she could do everything he used to do for her by herself…wouldn't he come back and be her best friend again?


Keeley, a simple plain Jane, hits the jackpot.  [No, she did not win the lottery!]  At least that's what she thinks when she marries the most eligible bachelor in New York City: Aaron, a wealthy cold-hearted heartthrob and Tycoon. 

She wants to show the world that she deserves her position and bends over  backward to fit into his world.

One beautiful day, Aaron hands her a document asking her to sign.  A divorce paper...

Song Yuanxi's face turned beet red and she grabbed Xia Yehua's arm, saying anxiously, "Auntie, did we not agree not to talk about this matter with others? Why are you talking about it now!"
Xia Yehua poked Yuanxi's nose and said, "If I hadn't seen the foolish expression you had on your face when you were chatting on your phone, I would not have even known that you were in love. Do you really see me as your stepmother? If so, why wouldn't you tell me about such a huge thing. I'm telling you, online romance is completely unreliable!"
Song Yuanxi wanted to say something, but she did not dare to say it out loud. Instead, she said softly, "Auntie, this is something that us teenagers do quite often, so you-"
"Teenagers… Well, how about you ask your sister-in-law whether true love can be found over the Internet?" 
As she finished speaking, both of them stared at Qiao Lian simultaneously.
Qiao Lian froze; her entire body was stunned.
Could true love really be found on the Internet?
She once thought that the answer was 'Yes'.
She had even argued with her mom over this issue; she had stood her ground then. She had even travelled a great distance to Beijing to find him. 
But ultimately…
Qiao Lian lowered her head and said softly, "Everything you find on the Internet is simulated and you shouldn't take them seriously."
As she finished speaking, the atmosphere in the room suddenly shifted.
A cold breeze was blowing directly at her, causing everybody present to subconsciously close their mouths. They had seen Shen Liangchuan walking from the balcony, and his entire body was completely frigid.
He was still holding a cell phone in his hands. Clearly, he had just finished answering a call.
However, his gaze was coldly directed at Qiao Lian's body.
She had just said that… everything on the Internet was simulated and couldn't be taken seriously.
Heh.
Why was this sentence so ironic?
That's because not only had he treated an online relationship seriously, but he had also never forgotten it for eight long years.
Eight years…
How many eight-year groups could a person live through in his entire lifetime?
He swiftly clenched his fists tightly. He found everything he was currently seeing intensely ironic, like the world was mocking him for imagining that his romantic feelings would be reciprocated.
All these months, her kind actions towards him had made his heart gradually soften and almost forget the events from the past.
Eight years ago, she had brought him so much despair!
Yes!
Eight years ago, she had teased him and mocked him… but even now?
Shen Liangchuan's rage could not be dampened as he slowly walked into the living room, one step at a time.
His fierce gaze caused the three women currently in the room to jump in fright.
Song Yuanxi trembled uncontrollably and she mumbled, "Brother Liangchuan?" 
Qiao Lian widened her eyes and could not understand what was happening.
She wanted to stand up, but his gaze petrified her so much that she did not dare to open her mouth and speak, let alone move from her current spot.
The eerie silence and the frigid atmosphere in the room was finally broken by Xia Yehua, who frowned and said, "Shen Liangchuan, what happened? Did another huge scandal break out? Why is your expression so stern?"
Her words seemed to pull him back to reality.
He frowned and laughed coldly. He suddenly turned around, picked up his coat and strode outside!
After a while, everyone in the room heard the sound of the car's ignition. He had already left.
All three women in the living room were positively terrified. They looked at each other and did not understand what had just happened.
Qiao Lian suddenly thought of something and hurriedly picked up her cell phone. She opened Weibo and discovered that G8ssip Magazine had published an article that had caused the hashtag #ShenLiangchuanTakesDrugs to trend online.
"A reporter from our news agency, surnamed Qiao, has confirmed that Best Actor Shen was present at Hua Mao Hotel yesterday!"
Did Shen Liangchuan think that this piece of news had been published by her?


They say the greatest blessing is marrying the idol you always dreamed of.

But Qiao Lian knows that reality is different...

The Internet claims that Best Actor Shen Liangchuan is a male god who is unaffected by any sexual drive, but Qiao Lian vehemently disagrees. It's a lie!

Billie Joe's POV
You know when you meet that someone your supposed to fall in love with, because the world around you stops. Everything freezes, and you forget every little thing you did that day. You get so focused on not screwing up what your going to say and trying to impress the person, that you don't even realise your best mates being chucked across the swimming pool by some random girl.
I met her at a swimming pool somewhere in Oakland, the funny thing is i can't even remember where in Oakland the swimming pool was. I remember seeing her for the first time when she walked into the room. The first thing i noticed was how beautiful she was. The way her wet blonde hair fell around her face and the way her blue eyes shone out of her see through glasses.
*Flashback*
"Billie. Billie. BILLIEEEE! You've been staring at that girl for the past ten minutes, just go and talk to her already!" a young man with crazy blonde hair, Mike Dirnt, pleaded to a boy with spiky messy black hair, Billie Joe. Billie splashed Mike. "HEY! I'm just saying!" Mike laughed.
Another guy with spiked hair coughed from behind Mike. "Mike your one to talk, you've been staring at that brunette for the past hour" Tre Cool laughed loudly.
Mike looked a bit pissed off. "Oh come on Tre! You said that so loudly she could of fucking heard you!" Tre and Billie both laughed so hard, seeing that the brunette girl was hovering in the water behind them. She blushed heavily.
"Hi... " The girl said looking slightly awkward. Mike looked Billie and Tre's way, as if asking "What the fuck do i say?", but the boys reply was just simply a laugh in the face and Tre trying to push Mike closer to the brunette girl.
Noah's POV
Grace had disappeared i don't know where in the world she went but one moment she and i were at the top of the slide, and then just like that she ran off! I don't even know?! She never leaves me like this!
Noah stood at the top of the blue slide and looked down, looking for her best friend, Grace Joseph. She pretty much saw her instantly and laughed to herself when she realised Grace had picked up a guy friend. Oh Grace...Noah rolled her shining eyes and scanned the rest of the swimming pool, and noticed someone.
Oh wow, who the fuck is that, she thought to herself. "I should really get down from here, he could see me staring at him and -"
Nobody's POV
"And what?..." a voice coughed from behind Noah.
She jumped. "HOLY SHIT!" and slipped on the water on the edge of the swimming pool. "SHIT"
Billie caught her almost immediately. He had his arm around her waist, as if they were dancing together at a ball. "Oh sorry" He murmured realising how awkward it was that they were both in their swimming gear.
" It, It's ok" Noah blushed deeply at the touch of his hand on her waist. Billie went to take his hand off Noah's waist, but hesitated. Damn it Billie, take your hand off the poor girl. Slowly Billie took his hand away and looked away embarrassed.

A loud gasp escaped from Lana's lips as she saw who had barged in, whom she assumed was Harper. Her cheeks and neck flushed as cheery red blush crawled up to her ears. 

Raphael was stunned as his eyes unknowingly traveled down and gazed at the dreamy view. A soft sigh made out of his mouth, as he fisted his fingers tightly. Lana took it as a cue to turn around as she continued her searching in the closet for ideal shirt. She hurriedly snatched a shirt which was neared and slid the door close as she rushed to put on the shirt.

She could perfectly feel the burn of Raphael's stare on her as she noticed this feeling a few hours ago. They were always best friends, as Lana was not much of talkative, but when she would mingle with someone for enough time, she would open up eventually. She and Raphael had always this understanding and chemistry that even Harper would encourage them to be together. But they both were clueless about those things until now. 

He closed the distance as her back faced him. She was still trying to open the buttons of the shirt as it was neatly pressed and folded. He stood there towering her from behind without touching her. She could feel the warmth on the naked skin of her back. He hesitantly lifted his hand to touch her. She stiffened reeling from the action and what was about to happen. She could feel him moving and the tension his body radiated.

He slowly moved his hand and caressed the slope of her neck with his knuckles. As a reflex she rested her back to his front and sighed quietly. Both were inexperienced in this as they marveled in the euphoria of each other's first touch. As if on instinct he gathered her hair to the side and barred her neck to him. He placed his lips on her pale creamy skin of shoulder and poked his tongue out to have a sample of her taste. His liking for her taste increased as he swirled his tongue on her skin and moved upwards to give open-mouthed kisses on her neck. She had not felt this good from just kisses in her life, as she groaned his name constantly.

His arms snaked up to her waist to her torso right below her breasts. Her hands covered his arms and gripped tightly as he continued his assault on her neck and shoulder. The shirt was still gripped tightly between her fingers, creating stubborn wrinkles. She took a deep breath to digest all these new feeling. But because of that the lower curves if her breasts pressed up to his bare arms, which were wrapped around her tightly, making him experience the softness of them. 

"Nathan..." She felt that too as she gasped loudly and turned to face him, still in his arms. Their eyes met as he sharply tugged her towards himself. He started to lean forward.

"Lannaaa..." Harper's shrill sing-song voice sliced the tension with smooth swing. They jumped apart and Lana hurriedly put on the shirt and tried to look presentable. 

Again the sharp knock on the door had them rushing through their escapades. Lana noticed that he was way too calm for this type of disturbance. As if he had no worries of being caught with her doing unholy things. She narrowed her eyes at him as their gaze met. He quickly averted his stare from her.

"Lana. Open the door. Right now." Lana gestured Raphael about hiding or something so that she could open the door.

"Ohhh... Don't waste your breathe on making him hide somewhere. I know he's in there. After all my idea, it was." Harper hollered from outside the door. Raphael rubbed his hands on his face, silently praying if he could escape from the current situation, as he saw Lana arching her eyebrows accusingly at him.

She swiftly opened the door revealing evilly smirking Harper. She was wiggling her eyebrows playfully at both flustered teenagers.

"Woohooo, finally Lafael would happen now..." She gushed excitedly with dreamy look in her eyes, and helped herself in the room.

"Ohk.. now that's my cue to leave." Raphael started.

"Yeah bro. You aren't as coward as I thought. Though, now bailing on Lana, would obviously cut some points. Go on..." Harper hollered as he was just taking the turn to hallways. He cursed silently, his twin and the situation both, vowing to avenge her when the time comes.

Here, in the room both besties giggled at his awkwardness. Lana was definitely not embarrassed now, as Harper would always find a way to make her comfortable in any type of situation.

"Ssooo... How was it? You first meeting of love!" Harper asked her determined to pump out every detail from her best friend. After all, she was playing Cupid for a reason.

"Uh.. normal. Yeah. It was normal meeting. Just like we always meet and talk and spend time..." Lana rushed off with open-ended answer. 

"Hummmm... I believe you. I absolutely trust you and your judgement. You think I'm an idiot? Borderline, braindead, moron? You better tell me right now or I can always ask Raph about this." 

"You won't-" 

"I shall, of course. You my friend are very innocent. I can do that and he will answer me. Though I don't want any of those details. Like seriously, he's my brother for hell's sake." Harper cut her sentence.

"Okay, geez... Nothing like that happened, you know. Well, sort off.." Lana trailed off feeling quite uncomfortable for talking about what just happened. It was realization that that definitely happened.

"Did you kiss? Tell me, tell me, tell me, pleaseeee." Harper was now more excited sensing the romance going on between her favorite couple she shipped for years.

"Um, No. We didn't kiss. He... Ugh, he saw me without my shirt, when he barged in. I thought it was you. And then he grabbed me from behind.."

"What? This much your ship has sailed! I have to inform other supporters and give them some serious report... Wait, he grabbed you from behind? Why didn't I hear any scream or something." Harper asked genuinely confused.

"No, you knucklehead. I rushed to wear my shirt and then he came from behind and hugged me. I liked it!" Lana almost yelled in excitement.

Harper took in all the information as if she had to literally make a report on their relationship regarding measuring all the ingredients like, feelings, emotions, romance, urges, wants, etcetera etcetera...

Her thoughtful expression seemed scary and creepy to Lana as she wondered what was so mind numbing secret behind these details, that she was processing.

"Lannie, Harpie, come on... We've gotta eat pastries.. unless you want all of them gobbled up, you should come downstairs." Joe's cute baby voice was heard from behind the door with a knock or two. 

"Aww.. my little man is here to take me... Come on, let's go before they finish up all the pastries." Harper snapped out of her ship mental calculation. At that Lana sighed in relief.

"Joe. Joe. Joe. Joe. Joe. My boyfriend... How are you..." Harper threw open the door and ran to scoop him in her arms. She sure was very strong for a pretty girl, Joe thought with red cheeks and bewildered eyes as his legs lost their contact from the floor.

The boy smiled at Lana who was giggling from the behind. As Harper turned her head back to look at him and greet him he smiled at her sweetly, but his ears turned even more red, if that was even possible, and hid his face in her neck in embarrassment. Harper chuckled lightly at this and let him slide his legs on the floor.

All the three raced downstairs as Harper charged a foolish game. Of course, Joe won the game as only he knew the directions. The dining room was spacious and aroma of different foods and sweets was wafting and making the air more pleasant. 

As Greg sat at head chair with Kary on his side, the five teenagers found their own comfortable seatings. As the dining tabe, which was made of mahogany wood, was large but not huge like for the small feasts. It was not covering the whole dining room. There was quite some space where a couple or four could dance while having dinner. The windows on the sidewalls were huge, almost covering the whole wall. The three windows on a wall left nothing to hide from the outside. 

The pleasant sight of warm coloured jungle peeked through the thick curtains of the windows. The family was gobbling down all the food made by Kary and Sally with the help of other servants. 

There were no servants at site as they were having their own meal at their pleased space. Sally was at dining room beside Joe, helping him eating, as she knew better than anyone that he would graciously avoid eating veggies in her absence, and Kary would not even scold him on her behalf as the old couple adored him. In fact, Kary would offer him more sweets to make him smile. Well, when did he not smile?

Everyone helped themselves as everyone were well acquainted with Vlahos' policies and etiquettes, and one of them being, not to bother servants for the manageable workloads, like serving, tending yourself and other personal things. Vlahos' were not royalty and they would remember that.

Five teenagers were going through the forest and a hexagonal wooden box was found.

That box; actually the stone inside, led them to the mysterious Palace.
