According to the memories of miss big busty, the High School is approaching more and more, then, to compensate, Julian is walking slower and slower. Immersed in the study of the pretentious little girl's smartphone, he thinks for a moment and nods inside his head.

"I'm glad you're talking to me because I thought I'd done something to upset you."

With his eyes focused on the pretty blonde's cell phone, Julian browses through the news of the day.

Anna watches Julia laughing alone with some concern. Already when she wanted to join her earlier, seeing her best friend crouching in the middle of the sidewalk, she couldn't understand how a miss like Julia, could adopt a position that only suits uneducated people. 
Later discovering her palm tree of hair and her (strange make-up touch), although she didn't dare to comment on the mess, Anna was a little upset. The culmination of this strange behaviour came when her friend, whose kindness is matched only by her perfect figure, spoke to her so unkindly. As for that daring thumb... 
Seeing it caressing her hand so intimately, the pretty blonde with an already very mature physique, pinches her lips and tries to calm her heart a little too excited. 
"Is the coffee good in this dump?"

Again, Ambruso removes his helmet, eyes gaping. He thinks he just might have it figured out, this time...

I quickly pulled Alex to her feet and stepped towards the girls.

The girl that appeared to be the "leader" started shrieking crazily. "Oh my god! Are you guys lesbians?!" 

She started fumbling with her phone as her two friends stared at us with disgust. 

"We're not lesbians," I said to her calmly,"What's your name?"

The girl calmed down enough to answer and said, "Samantha."

"Well, Samantha. We're not lesbians."

Her eyes widened in shock. "What? I saw her on one knee and she looked like she was proposing to you."

I chuckled.

"That girl is my best friend Alex and she was only being dramatic. Today is my birthday and she was giving me a gift."

Samantha nodded, her eyes still wide. 

"So..there's nothing going on between you two?"

"Nah. We're just friends and nothing more."

She nodded before coldly adding, "I think you should tell your friend to not act like that. Not everyone will be as understanding as me."

Her once surprised demeanor turned to scathing indignance faster than I would have expected.

"Of course! I'll be sure to drill it into her thick head," I said smiling.

She turned on her heel and left as her friends followed.

The moment she was out of sight, I let out a breath. 

I turned to face Alex. She stared at me with hurt in her eyes. 

"What is wrong with you?!" I screamed, "You could've gotten us in trouble!"

"I was only trying to give you a present." 

Her voice sounded betrayed and confused. What was there to be confused about? 

"Give me a present?! Why didn't you hand it to me like any normal person?! Why, Alex?! Why?!" 

"Well, guess what? I'm not normal!" She yelled back at me. 

"Well, you should be! With the way you're going, you'll end up being like Noah, dead!"

"What did you just say?" Her voice was barely above a whisper. 

It was faint, but I knew I had pushed her to the edge.I was only trying to be a good friend. I was only trying to keep her safe. 

"You heard me Alex."

Alex's fists clenched at her sides as her eyes narrowed, her cheeks turned red and her lips pursed. 

"HOW DARE YOU!"

"Excuse me?!"

I felt my brows raise in surprise as she stalked toward me, only stopping when her face was inches from mine. 

"Noah is still alive."

The pain in her voice was clear as tears brimmed in her eyes. 

"Why don't you believe? Why can't you believe? Noah was always there for us. Now it's our turn to be there for him." 

"Noah is dead Alex. Come back to reality. I'm sorry for hurting your feelings but I truly am trying to keep you safe."

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she spread out her wings. 

"Alex, you can't skip school," I tried telling her.

She ignored me as she threw the box at my feet, and shot into the air.

I sighed and rubbed my hand down my face. 

Why did I always use Noah in our arguments? Why did I always go too far? Why did I always push Alex to the edge?

I bent down and picked up my present. Today was supposed to be a day of laughter and happiness. Now,it's ruined. 

I carefully unwrapped the box to see a beautiful silver necklace with a dove pendant hanging from the chain.

I smiled softly to myself as I put it on. I could imagine what Alex would have said while she gave this to me.

"The dove represents purity. And you, are the most pure person I've ever met. Somehow you always manage to look past the bad in a person's heart and stare straight at the good. Thanks for being my best friend. Happy fifteenth birthday Sara."

I tucked the necklace inside my shirt. Slowly flapping my wings, I flew in the direction Alex had taken.

School could wait, she was more important.

For some reason, there was a constricting feeling in my chest as if something bad was going to happen. I increased my speed. It was the same feeling I had the night before I found out Noah disappeared. 

Where could she have gone? Home? No, she wouldn't want to risk her mother's wrath. Where does she go when she's upset?

The answer came to me. The giant oak tree in the field that was located in the woods behind Noah's house. We would always hang out there after school, for peace of mind, or just when we got upset in general. It was our secret spot. For us and only us. 

The wind whistled in my ears, as I dipped down slightly. 

I soon arrived at Noah's house. His parents had moved away, claiming that the house had too many disgusting memories of him. 

I turned my gaze away and focused on the cluster of trees. 

I slowed down as the field came into view. Alex's back was against the giant tree, her face in her knees.

It was my fault she was crying. I shouldn't have upset her again. Why do I never learn from my mistakes?

I landed in front of Alex. Her soft cries broke my heart. I hated seeing my friends in distress. I sat down beside her and patted her back. When she didn't flinch or tense under my touch, I knew that was permission for me to keep going. 

"I'm sorry Alex. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I promise I really-"

"Shut up."

I pulled my hand away as her head came up. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her cheeks were wet from the tears.

"You always say that. If you really are sorry then why do you keep doing it? I've heard you say those words so many times,they have become meaningless."

Meaningless? They were meaningless? But, I truly am sorry. I never mean to hurt you.

"I'm sorry Alex-"

"No. A simple 'I'm sorry' won't fix things this time. I'm going to ask you a question Sara and I hope you answer honestly. Did you truly support Noah?"

Her words took me by surprise. "Of course I did..." I trailed off as I met her gaze, her dark brown eyes glaring at me with a deep intensity.  

I sighed. "Fine. I'll be truthful. When he told us, I thought he had a death wish, but it was ultimately his choice."

A gasp escaped her lips. 

"Why?"

"Why what?" I asked.

"Why do you think that way?"

"Are you seriously asking me that? Look around Alexandria. Open your eyes to the world we live in. The moment Noah said those words, he was doomed. The government would've taken him away, and possibly...kill him."

"I wish I never lived in this kind of world."

"You can't think like that."

"What if I just disappeared…"

She trailed off and my breath hitched.

Please don't let her be thinking what I think she's thinking.

She gave me a sad smile before spreading her wings and flying in the direction of her house.

I pulled my knees up to my chest as tears streamed down my face. My heart ached as I dug my nails into my palm.

It was my turn to cry, because once again, I had potentially caused a person's death.

 Why was I such a hypocrite? I had warned her against it, yet I was thinking the exact same thing.

How do I leave this world?

Dawn's POV. 

The moon was shining brightly along with the stars in the night sky. It's 8pm and the evening is so damn peaceful just like my sleep until it was cut off by some maniac 

"Hey little sweetie, time to get up now" she said in a flirty way. Just by the sound of her voice, I know already who she is 

"Just five more minutes okay, I'm trying to sleep" I said half awake 

"Awww" I groaned knowing that I was just hit with a pillow by this freaking bitch 

"Don't you five more minutes me, you freaking idiot" she said in a pissed off tone 

"Funny that a word freaking idiot comes from a girl who has her bible study every Saturday" I said with sarcasm in my tone 

"We- well, you made me said that" she stuttered 

"Na uh, it's not me who made you said that. It's Satan Who made you said that" I said with a firm tone 

"Can you just shut up and and dress up already!? We're already late and I'm so pissed off because of you!" 

"Hello, we are the only one who wants to go hang out in this peaceful night so practically speaking no one's late" 

"Who even wants to hang out in the middle of the night" I added and made my room to the bathroom. 

Right after washing my face, I immediately wore a white t shirt and black trousers matching it with black vans. I put a jacket on to make sure that I don't get hit by the cold wind outside. God knows how much I'm sensitive to such cold. After I finished fixing myself up, a pissed off woman in my room then grab my hands and drag me outside of the house trying to look for a cab. 

"Geez, calm down girl" I said as we hop in the car 

Meet my best friend Awi, we were together ever since we are in our mother's womb so basically I know what makes her pissed off other than me not waking up or getting up late. And speaking of which, this is exactly what I'm talking about. 

"And again, its close ugh!! I told you we were gonna be late!" she said trying to start an argument 

"Well you didn't really said that were gonna end up drinking" I explained in a calm manner 

"Seriously? Do you even know why until now you don't have a boyfriend?" 

"Well, what does drinking in a bar have to do with me not having a boyfriend?" 

"Exactly! You don't have a boyfriend because you're so slow. Girl I ask you to come hang out with me during night basically because I want to have a drink with you and not just hang out in a mall and play some stupid arcade games. Ugh! Do I even have to explain everything to you" she groaned and tried to compose herself 

"Take it easy young woman. Why do these bars are close anyway? Bars are supposed to be wide awake at nights" 

"Maybe because of the fact that we are in such a small town and bars are told to close before it even strike 12" she said and throw her hands up in the air 

"Stop being so mad! Why do you even have to drink in such a peaceful night?" 

"Well maybe because my heart was broken by a man whom I thought is my knight" she said and started to cry 

"Oh man this is not good" I murmured to myself but she heard it 

"Yeah! It really is no good to be ghosted by someone whom you thought is very lovable and being stuck in a town with no alcohol. And I bet my make up is like a shit right now" she said wiping her tears 

"Alright, alright! let me make it up to you. There's this bar across town that my classmate Alex introduce to me before. They don't close up until 2 in the morning so we can probably go hang out in there. But I'm telling you right now, you should not panic" I said making sure that I look straight into her eyes 

Just a minute later, we finally arrived in a place where there is such an aesthetic vibe. The neon and purple color inside are visible outside even the music is audible enough for anyone who pass by the said bar trying to capture the attention of another customers. Lot of young girls are coming in and out of the place. Awi's breath became heavy, her hands are starting to shake, she can feel her heart pounding like it's going crazy 

"Hey, hey relax. Count one to five and focus on your breathing. Awi Anderburg you should not panic. Just remember, you are here to drink, to forget and have fun" I said trying to calm all of her nerves 

"Fun!? Fun!? Are you kidding me!!?? This is a gay bar!!?? It's full of lesbians. How can I have fun!?" she said with panic in her voice 

"So what about the lesbians? You want to drink in a bar and this gay bar here happens to be the only bar that is wide awake right now. Come on let's have some fun" I said convincing her to come with me 

"Dawn, I love you. But you know very well how much I hate lesbians" she said trying to calm all of her nervous cells 

"Come on. The gays out there are not gonna eat you up okay. It's time to face your fears Awi, I know you're ready and I know you can do it. You can never forget the past if you don't face it. Plus, we will just be here to drink, we won't try to hit at someone" I added 

"But I wanna look for my another knight tonight" she said in a disappointed tone 

"Drinks for now, Knight for tomorrow okay?" I said and lead my way to the entrance of the bar. 

"Come on" I added looking back at Awi who's still standing in front of the bar 

"This better be a good night Dawn or I'll kill you" she murmured but enough for me to hear.

"Save it! You did badly in school? Then how did you end up college?" Belinda knew Leena was a good liar, so she didn't believe what Leena said. She was no pushover.     

"Aha! Belinda, what's up with you today? What happened to you? Why are you harping on everyone you meet?" Daisy sniggered when she asked Belinda. Daisy knew Belinda was ill-tempered. But she rarely went ballistic like today. That's why Daisy felt surprised and confused.     

"Leave me alone. Maybe the season's too dry. I know my skin is. I can't help losing my temper." Belinda clutched a hand to her forehead. She had no idea about her restlessness. She couldn't help herself from freaking out.     

"Belinda, you tell me if you're bullied by Duke. Don't worry. I will get even with him for you." Leena was a little girl-like tornado. She ran over to Duke before Belinda stopped her.     

Leena, what are you doing here?" Duke frowned. But he tried his best to stop himself from accusing her. He moved himself a bit to let Leena sit next to him. He fixed her hair that fell over her eyes and blocked her sight.     

"Duke, just tell me! Did you mess with Belinda?" Leena said in a low voice. She was a smart girl with a sense of propriety so she wouldn't speak loudly and make their conversation heard. Unfortunately, nobody here was blind. Everyone else had already noticed the awkwardness between Duke and Belinda and Leena was just behind the curve.    

 "Did she tell you that?" Duke shook the glass of wine in front of him and drank it down. He looked Belinda right in the eye and Belinda responded with an equally cold stare. 'Huh! What are you doing? Trying to prove you have bigger eyes than me? You wish! I've never lost a staring contest,' Belinda thought.     

"No, she didn't. She looks very strange today, so I think it is because of you," said Leena. Leena looked right up at Duke's face, it seemed like the answer was on his face.     

"There is nothing strange. You ladies always feel bad during your periods," Duke said, trying to deflect blame. He didn't want Leena to know about Rachel.     

Oh!     Now I get it! Well, I know why she is so moody today. Oh, that's it." It just hit Leena. She turned around and meaningfully looked at Belinda. Immediately Belinda felt uncomfortable. She was very curious about what Leena and Duke were saying about her. And she wondered why Leena looked at her like that. 'Damn it, did he tell Leena that I had a problem with his ex-girlfriend Rachel? Oh, my god, now everyone thinks I am a narrow-minded, jealous woman.'    

"So let's hear it! What happened between you and Duke?" Daisy patted Belinda on the hand after Leena ran away. Daisy didn't believe what Belinda said about the excuse for her bad temper. Obviously, the dry weather in the autumn was not the real reason.     

"Tell you some other time! Too many people here. It's totally the wrong time." As best friend, Belinda shared everything frankly with Daisy. She might feel shy to tell others about the troubles and problems in her love life, she wasn't going to hide it from Daisy. But it just wasn't the right time to tell her about sensitive issues in front of so many people now.     

"Okay! Call me when you want to talk. I will be your best listener." Daisy gently patted Belinda on the shoulder. In fact, she had figured out that Belinda was mad at Duke because Rachel. But Belinda refused to tell her now, so she respected her decision.     

Thank you. You are the best garbage can for my bad moods. You can never run away from me." Belinda produced a forced smile. Belinda and Daisy were really like sisters. Daisy just got Mr. Right's love after overcoming all kinds of difficulties. Now it was her turn to suffer the pains of love. She was unwilling to admit that she had a crush on Duke, but their chemistry was clearly undeniable. She was attracted to Duke, which was the only thing that bugged her.     

Yes, I won't run away from you. I'll always be here for you. Don't worry." Daisy could ignore everyone's sadness, but not family members'. Belinda was also an exception. Only with Belinda's encouragement and support could Daisy have gotten through all the hard days in the past.     

"Come on. It's a little over the top. They may think we're lesbians." Belinda pretended to be shy and gave Daisy a look. Anyway, Belinda felt better after she heard what Daisy said.

He kneels down, grabs my hand, the one with the red car, my favourite one, and brings it between our faces. "Aren't you a bit too old to be playing with cars?" His voice is too calm. I know he's in hurting mode. His voice scares me.
"You are a child, you behave like a toddler, and you expect to be treated like an adult. Now tell me, if you play with these stupid toys, how do you expect me to even treat you like a normal human being? Playing with boys' toys? Your mother is stupid, I don't know what she's doing, buying you this stuff. And your clothes, all blue. You look like a sad little boy." He throws me to the ground, grabs my arms and pins me down.

He grabs my shirt and pulls it off, my trousers are next.

I hear my wardrobe open, I hear him moving things around. He comes back with a pile of clothes, all the boy-ish ones, all my favourites. He comes back with them and puts them in, joining the ashes of the ones I was wearing.
His face is cold. He scares me. Sometimes he looks like the men my mum tells me to look out for on the road, or the ones they show in TV, when they go to jail. The same dark features, the same stone cold face. He scares me.
"Now, if your mother comes home and asks you where your clothes have gone, you tell her we gave them to charity because you didn't like them, got it? If I find out," he leans over me and grabs me by the neck. "if I find out that isn't what you said, you are going to regret it. Understood?" I nod.
"One other thing, let your hair grow out. Short hair is pure shit on girls. Especially bitches like you, no boy would ever want a girl with short hair like yours. Next time your mum asks you if you want to go to the hairdresser's, you tell her you want to grow it out, otherwise there will be severe punishment."

"Hello, my darlings." He says, entering the door with a smile. He kisses my mother and then my forehead.
"Hey, honey. Alright, I'm going to work. You two have fun!" She says, and walks out the door.
"So." He's still smiling. "Today is my wonderful daughter's sweet sixteen, isn't it? We're going to have a yes day. Means, as long as it's within reason, you can offer to do whatever you want and I will say yes."

"Well, first of all, find that restaurant and ask if they still need a waitress for this summer. Then, I'm thinking we could go to that Van Gogh art exposition, the one with all the virtual paintings and stuff. Then we'll go thrift shopping, then sushi."
"Love the plan, get dressed then!" He says.
This is going to be the best day ever.
We go to the biggest museum in Milan. They're hosting the 'Van Gogh full immersive experience' exposition. It's this thing where they have the paintings projected and you can interact with them in a way. At the beginning there are also a few of his originals.
We then go to Milan's town center, eat McDonald's in the castle's park, then go to look for a thrift store. We find a few and buy ridiculous stuff. My proudest purchase is a big fake-leopard fur coat, the kind rich grandmas wear. His is an 1800s vest. Like, the whole thing, trousers, shirt, suit, even the little pocket watch and monocle. Fun fact: lesbians in that period had monocles so other lesbians could know that they were lesbians. We should bring that back.
We roam around the city until it starts getting dark. We find a sushi take away and go back home, trying not to spill the soy sauce every time the underground train comes to a stop.
Things are getting better, but I haven't had that much fun with him in a really long time.
Once we're finished eating, my father says "So, the how's it going with the guy you're dating? Tommaso, was his name?"

"They're butches." Reese repeated and finally turned to face me. "They're hardcore lesbians. Straight lesbians that don't want a penis."

I cleared my throat, my cock under the table was getting more and more uncontrollable after Reese uttered its name. I could practically picture my dick raising a hand as if in attendance when the professor called. I shifted in my seat, widening my thighs to give more space with the tightening of my jeans. "Yeah? What about?" Reese asked in between chewing her burger.

My mouth opened yet I wasn't able to speak when the butches from the other table stood and were about to leave. When they passed by our table, one of them stopped and looked at Reese and me and back to Reese again. I saw Reese's lips pursed, forming into a straight line in obvious annoyance. 

"Heard you and Jenny are back together." From the way she asked, I could easily tell she's the leader. 

Reese scowled, obviously not liking being questioned specially by a nobody. She suddenly stood, her height was impressively taller than the other girl. 

"If you don't want me to hurt your face, get the hell out of my sight. You got no right to speak your filthy mouth to me." Reese told her with a subtle threat. 

The butch just arched a pierced brow before shaking her head. "You're too brave for your own good, Collins. Don't threaten me if you can't..."

"Jesus Christ, Reese!" I jumped and quickly caught the other girl. 

Reese didn't let the butch finish her words because she suddenly smashed her head down the table. It happened so quick that it literally happened in a blink. Her nose instantly bled when I looked down the injured girl. Her friends rushed to take her from my hold. 

"Fucking bitch!" The injured butch screamed, clutching her nose. 

"What was that you're about to say?" Reese glared. "Don't threaten you if I can't even deliver? I warned you to leave if you don't want to hurt your face. Now get outta here and don't ever come back! This is my territory!"

"You'll pay for this!" She threatened. 

"Try me." Reese huffed before crossing her arms over her chest. 

The friends dragged their leader out of the diner, the people around us murmured a little but they eventually returned to their lunch as if it's no big deal. Reese dropped her body down the seat so I also returned to mine with a worried frown. Damn, this girl's dangerous.

I quickly changed my mind and decided not to tell her about last week. Reese wouldn't just smash me in the face, she'd probably kill me! The server earlier returned to our table, placing a platter of nachos and dip in front of us. 

"We didn't order for this." I said. 

"Oh, the owner said it's in the house. He wanted those groupies out of his diner for so long. They're a bunch of troubled girls. Boss just don't know how to rid of them. So he's saying his thanks."

Reese suddenly grinned and thanked the lady before she left. "I've never been thanked for being a bitch before."

"Are you and Jen together again?" I asked instead, unable to hide my anxiety. 

"No." Her smile vanished immediately. "I don't want to talk about her right now. I hate what she did to me and please if what you're telling me is about what I did or said in your home last week, I told you I don't want to hear it."

I blew a large breath, both in defeat and relief. Hearing Reese telling me she's not back with Jenny made me want to smile if only she's not looking at me right now. I didn't know why and I honestly felt no guilt that I'm actually snatching Reese away from Jenny even if she's my own sister. May the best sibling wins.

"Sure. " Tori replies and we all get up and move to the clean up room. 

 While taking our showers, Gabby won't stop talking bout the whole thing. How she hopes to make new friends, learn new things, find out if any boy has a crush on her and she even said she hope to know wjat Desmond feels for me. 

She's been adamant that Desmond and I have something going. She says we make a cute couple and even made ship names for us (Desmorah or Desrah)! 

 She really is a handful and I don't know how on earth to make her understand Desmond and I aren't even friends but mates. 

We finally dress up and she begs me to give in to my heart. 

 "I know you like Desmond. " she says all of a sudden and Tori snickers while Rachel just coffs and walks off. 

"What gives girl!? Just let it go! I told you there's nothing between us. He's too annoying to fall for even! " I whisper yell at her. 

"Keep saying till you believe it. "Tori says as she taos my shoulder before walking off. 

"You know, someday you're gonna give in to your feelings. On way or another. " Gabby says to me before walking away. I shake me head at th gorgeous ball of positivity and cuteness as she walks away.~Gabby sure can be adamant! 

The lake has somehow become I and Desmonds hang out spot. Sometimes we chill at his little cabin which is a distance from the lake. The place I found him exercising the other day. 

And in all these months, he hasn't changed a bit! 

 After breakfast, I search around for him and I find him at the lake. He turns around and finds me standing just staring at him. 

"Missed me already? " he questions. 

"You wish! " i reply as I walk over and take a seat beside him. I look up at him and find his gaze in the sky but on nothing in particular. 

"I've been meaning to ask you something. "

The cold breeze in my face, clinging tightly to my bare arms. My arms wrapped around my torso in an attempt to keep me warm. Tears streaming down my face as memories of Harry's cruel betrayal flood my mind. Of all days, he chose my birthday to hurt me.

Finally, I hear music playing from loud speakers. I'm close to civilization!. 

I keep running frantically. One of my pumps gone. Soon I see a club in sight with a few people outside. I begin to scream for help when a figure suddenly appears before me. In fear, I make to run in the opposite direction but another figure is right behind me.

Darlene moved around the front bumper and gave me a hug as she murmured in my ear, "Did I mention that this is an all-women survival commune?" 

"You forgot to share that little bit of news with me. What the hell we gonna do now?" I muttered back. 

Darlene was like that. She tended to skimp on the details and fill the void with trivia or useless facts. She held my hand as we broke from our embrace, and spoke to the assembled women on the porch. 

"I would like you to meet my partner, Dennis Richards, everyone. He's old, but he's kinda cool once you have a chance to know him." 

An older woman, who turned out to be the group's leader, stepped forward. "I'm Sheila Carson, Mr. Richards. Please come inside. I think we need to have a talk." 

I had the same, uneasy "Oh crap! Now, what?" feeling that I used to have when summoned to the principal's office as a kid. 

Sheila turned on her heels, walked inside, and the rest of us followed into the cabin's great room. If the building appeared big from the outside, standing in the middle of the cathedral hall, the misty room seemed to go on forever. A massive freestanding stone fireplace dominated the central space with a blazing fire radiating heat and light in all directions. 

The distant ceiling towering over the open space was almost lost in the shadows and the smoky haze of the great room. Rustic rough wooden balconies ringed the walls on all sides at the second story level. Thousands of LED icicle lights hung from the unpainted railings and stairways. A soft, comforting glow bathed the room in the soothing and pleasant colors of an autumn sunset. 

Sheila directed us to accompany her to her upstairs office. She stood about five feet six inches and was a good looking professional woman about my age. Without a trace of makeup. She needed none. Streaks of red highlighted her bangs and her short cropped brunette hair, and she appeared to be in magnificent physical condition. 

Her skin had the bronze tan of someone who was no newcomer to hard outdoor work. Her face was more handsome than beautiful. She was wearing faded work jeans and a low-cut wool sweater, which allowed an excellent view of well-tanned, medium-sized breasts and the valley between. 

Sheila's office featured a giant oak desk and a stone hearth. A picture window filled one wall with a breathtaking panorama of the frosted mountains painted silver in the light of an almost full moon. A floor-to-ceiling bookcase crammed with books covered the opposite wall. There were several oriental rugs scattered about on the wood floor. 

"Make yourselves comfortable, I'll be right back." Sheila made a quick exit through a side door. 

Her abrupt departure startled me. Something was brewing. Darlene and I took a seat on a small loveseat in front of a coffee table and exchanged worried glances while we waited. 

I bent close and whispered, "What the hell is going on? This ain't the warm and fuzzy welcome we expected." 

"No kidding. I don't understand. I told Sheila's assistant that you were coming with me, and she said, 'Great, the more, the merrier.'" 

We could hear the muffled voices but not the words of two women engaged in a heated exchange in the next room. The argument stopped abruptly, and a moment later, Sheila entered the office with another woman in tow. 

"Your presence here presents us with something of a problem, Mr. Richards. Darlene sent us a text to our satellite phone. She told us she would be arriving with her lover 'Denise'. It was on that basis that we gave you permission to stay with our family of sisters." Sheila crossed her arms and studied me closely. 

Darlene let out a little gasp before she burst out laughing. "Shit-for-brains auto-correct will get you every time. I dictated it on my iPhone. I never noticed it changed Dennis to Denise," Darlene said. 

Oh, damn! Talk about getting off to a lousy start. We were at the intersection of Colossal and Fuck Up. It took Sheila only a moment to absorb the implications of Darlene's unintended error. No conspiracy at work here, only faulty technology. 

"Mistake or not, Mr. Richards' residence within our family might produce, er, unnecessary sexual tension; that kind of stress can be bad for families," Sheila explained as she took a seat across from us. 

"Seriously? If you're all lesbians, how can an old fart like me create any kind of tension?" I protested. 

"There are capital-L lesbians, and there are lowercase-L lesbians, Mr. Richards, and then there are those who might want to find pleasure from a man out of mischief or mere curiosity. The fact that you're old makes you seem harmless, but I know better. You're not as safe as you appear. You've seduced one of my lovers and convinced her to take you on as a lover," Sheila glanced over at Darlene. 

I also gave Darlene a curious look of my own.

 I had suspected but never knew for sure that my lady love walked both sides of the street. 

Sheila leaned forward and looked directly into Darlene's eyes. "Since we're already on the subject, why on earth did you pick such an old guy for a lover in the first place? Good Lord girl, he's old enough to be your father or even your grandfather." 

Darlene laughed. "Everyone wants to hear about our May-December relationship. I picked Dennis because he's low maintenance, easy to be with, and treats me with respect. He's a fantastic lover and knows how to make me happy. He has an extremely talented tongue." 

Sheila looked at me and raised a questioning eyebrow. I smiled back and reddened as the "talented tongue" comment floated in the air like a lost balloon. 

She let the silence stretch out a bit, and then reached across the coffee table, took Darlene's right hand in her own, and licked her lips, "Tell me, dear sister, is his penis as talented?"
