A girl and a boy . Both influencers. They meet in an event where both were nominated and both won resulting in a collaboration video. Now the question is , will the story go any further or they are just going to be completely professional ?

In lanes 1-4, there isn't really anyone of note; just some boys aged 7-10. The 10 year olds have a very distinct advantage in that they're most likely taller and their muscles may be more developed.

Also, 10 year olds are more used to roughhousing, making their skin near impenetrable.

This has nothing to do with swimming but it's a neat fact.

In lane 7 however, I feel like I recognize that girl...hmmmm, maybe when she starts swimming I'll remember her? I can usually know who the female swimmer is on the Olympics Channel with the way they swim.

For example, Jakabos, one of the ho- best female swimmers has long arms; this means that her movements are wider, more powerful and not as sharp. Her elbows bend a bit more as well.

[what a freaking pervert you are. You pay attention to the female swimmers, whatever. But now? You look at their elbows?]

'Oy...you make me sound like some weirdo. I look at their swimming styles! It's for science! Those late nights watching FINA and the Olympics Channel are NOT just for my pleasure!'

As Feelie, mentions that, I hear the whistle and the kids on the diving boards jump into the water...needless to say, it's a bit of a disaster.

The kids in lane 1, 2, 6 and 9 all had their goggles pulled off of their heads, making their eyes get exposed to the pool water.

For me, I'm personally fine with it and have been training without goggles with Seung-ri Jim for about 3 months to get used to it. Other children, however?

Nuh-uh!

They all stop in their tracks and start floating above the water by lightly kicking and make their way to the poolside. They are rubbing their eyes and lane 1 and 9 are both crying.

It's very hard not to laugh but I need to try! Holding on is key to developing a relationship with Coach K. 

Even though swimming isn't a team sports, you still need to show some decency when handling teammates. In fact, there was this one story where a disgruntled teammate was repeatedly bullied and harassed by this better swimmer.

The bully swimmer was able to get to the FINA finals while the bullied swimmer was eliminated at the quarterfinals. Annoyed and jealous, right before the swim, she broke into the other swimmer's hotel room and smashed up her legs.

That ruined both of their careers. Literally no chance at redemption all becuase you decided to call a kid a "poopy-head" in 3rd grade and called them "dumdum" in middle school.

You feel good about it now? That the little name calling will get you forever ruined from the legs down, huh? Think about it...

[that's such an isolated case that it's stupid you even mention it. However! I need to agree. Respect your teammates and they will respect you. It costs nothing to be nice]

Ignoring the haters by focusing my entire attention to the race, looking at lane 7 and lane 3 as both of them are the quickest so far from off the bat.

Both look like they have great technique. Sharp elbows, thumb in first and kicks never above the water. They look very promising.

The other lanes: lane 4, lane 5 and lane 8, are all mediocre. Well, at least they are still young. This age is the perfect age for improving your swimming. 

Despite the fact that they suck so much that a person with cerebral palsy with 10 kilogram weights could out swim them, they are fairly good for their age.

Right now in this race, it's a 100 meter freestyle. The pool is 25 meters long meaning that it's 2 laps; back and forth.

(A.N) lol. So, to avoid any confusion for the non-swimming people or people who are still confused by now about what a lap is; a lap is a round trip. Going to the other side of the pool and coming back is a lap; not JUST going to the other side.

It's like watching two of the best people compete against each other: Senna v. Prost, Rosberg v. Hamilton and Celtics v. Lakers just to name a few.

Imagine that but much, much, much slower than Formula 1 cars or basketball games. These are kids who having even lived a decade, give them a break.

By the 2nd lap, both of them are dead tired but they keep on going. Their grit is immense that's for sure. Most 8-9 year olds can't even continue after one lao and these kids are crushing it!

On the return back to the starting point, both are constantly breathing on both sides, even taking little rests. The girl on lane 7 is almost crying while the boy is clutching his stomach.

Honestly, I don't think this is what coach K intended. If you are going to make a bunch of barely children swim 100 meters and expect them to finish, you'd be dead wrong. Wrong and stupid. Stupid and wrong.

Lanes 4, 5 and 8 are all so tired they are just floating in the pool and trying to get out; they quit after reaching 3/4ths of the first lap.

Lane 7 comes in first and then lane 3. Coach K's stopwatch showed us that the girl on lane 7 got a time of 1:39.56. In all honesty, that is an absolutely stunning time. For her age and for that distance, not many can do it.

The boy was no slouch either, clocking in at 1:45.32. Both are amazing times don't get me wrong and I'll probably see them in competitions in the future. But...hard work is nothing in face of talent! And I have both!

[by talent you mean me, the best system ever, Feelie?]

Feelie interrupts my feel good streak by saying I don't have talent! Again! I recall his words and get a bit agitated. You mean to say I didn't work hard? You little system! I worked hard!

Thinking about his words more however, I realize something...he is getting more and more like me! Before, he used to be more modest and polite with his insults, calling me "scoundrel" and "rascal". 

But now?

He prefers uplifting himself by pushing me down! He is me! I made him like me! Mwuahahahahaha!!! You fool, Feelie! I have found you all out and your codes are being read as we think!

'Awwwwww... would ya look at that, it seems I've rubbed off on you a little bit! Hic...hic!...I raised that boy...'

I ignore him and focus on the next match and the encouraging words of Coach K. Honestly, as a coach, his skills on pep talks and motivational speeches are top notch.

Some of the best coaches are even better at motivating their pupils than at the damn sport. Some examples of this are Rob Ryan of the Cowboys, Rex Ryan of the Jets and so on.

I know one word you could say, your honor, and that is "Guilty"!!!

Coach K goes over to the two troopers gives them a big pat on their backs. After all, they deserve it after showing their perseverance.

"Hey, Chang-min ah and Mi-sun ah, both of you were absolutely amazing out there. Great job"

""Un!""

After he pats them on their heads, he lets them take a well deserved rest and focuses on the next batch of swimmers, silently hoping they are at least 70% of the two perseverance monsters.

'Hmmmm...wait a minute. Why does Mi-sun sound familiar?...hmmmm, Olympics? FINA?.....oh wait! ASEAN! OH DAMN!

Now I realize who Mi-sun is; a bronze medalist at ASEAN. Despite her "only" getting a bronze medal, that's much, much better than most people out there. She is incredibly talented and from the news interviews, has a great personality.

She stopped swimming after she got 6th in the recent ASEAN in my previous life and settled down to marry some chaebol with a fake-ass hairline, obviously tucked in stomach and Botox inflated lips.

Like a damn kendoll! Look at me! My hair is so much thicker than his even when I was 40 and bald! I honestly felt bad for her but checking the stock market, I didn't feel too bad anymore.

A hint why: she was worth over 10 billion won just from marrying him. 

Maybe I'll try motivating her in the future to swim more or something. Hopefully she doesn't get ri- doesn't quit swimming this time around.

She was a great swimmer and many men loved watching her.

[uhuh...a "great" swimmer, right?]

'Yeah! A very se- great swimmer and an amazing athlete! Her looks are only 10/10 anyways!' 

The third batch of people are getting ready and I'm looking forward to seeing how So-young compares to the other 7-10 year olds...

She turns her head and looks at me with scarlet cheeks and dazed eyes. She regains focus and gives a wide smile.

Life isn’t fair and Kim Min-chul knows it...except it isn’t for the reason you are thinking.

...Min-chul is just too damn PERFECT!!!

he has a tall height of 184 cm, a fast metabolism, perfect swimmer’s body without even trying and is unknowingly a ladies man!

He makes girls fall for him without even knowing!!!

How do you even do that?!?!

Unfortunately however, he let this all get to his head. Not starting his swimming career until he was in junior high and barely making it into the international leagues. Even then, he would neglect his training regularly.

With his 184 cm height, his constant slumping caused him to lose some height, eventually reducing  to 176 cm.
Even with his fast metabolism, he ate too much and rarely exercised; giving him a potbelly at 29.
Despite his natural swimmer’s body, his shoulders got narrowed down and social skills now non-existent.

Looking back at his life in high-school and college as a 40 year old salaryman making just above-average wage, he stares over Wariss Bridge and contemplates. Contemplating whether life is worth living or not...

“Bwahahahaha!!! What the hell, author? Contemplating what, you liar! I just thought that the view was nice!”

That day, a strong gust of wind started the chain of unlikely events that would eventually take

NOTE: This story isn’t one of those “ sport is life” novels. This is the story of redemption for a man who lost everything due to his own negligence. He isn’t a swimmer, he is a regular guy with a life who is also happens to be a swimmer. 

Don’t get me wrong though, there will be tournament arcs and swimming tournaments but I will focus on a more slice of life type story for this novel.

"What the hell do you need a children's book for?" Fluorescent yelled, causing the other person at the end to move their phone away from their ears.
"I told you already: I have to give my 5-year-olds a story to read in front of the class tomorrow because of 'Fairy Tale Friday'!" Fredda, her sister, said back, rubbing her ear that was being yelled into.
"You don't have any at home?" Fluorescent screamed again, causing a passerby to scurry off in case she got mad and started yelling at them for staring at her. Fluorescent was well known for hurting feelings for not showing manners.
"We do. It was just that we needed a new one. They can't read one that they have already read. Messed up, I know, but it is understandable."
"What kind of book do you want me to get?" Fluorescent said, rubbing her temple so reduce her temper. She was also well known for getting into fights because of her temper. So far, she had been suspended once from school for fighting someone that pushed her, causing her to drop her food and handcuffed twice for beating the sh*t out of someone that crossed her.
"A book like 'The Paper Bag Princess' or 'The Little Prince' or something," Fredda said, walking to her son's room to make sure he was done with his homework.
"Those books are awfully wordy for five-year-olds to read-"
"I have told you already: my kids are in a private school! Sometimes their homework comes out of an encyclopedia. I wonder if grammar school was ever this difficult-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Give me a minute and I will swing by to give you the books because I am not going back again. You owe me-"
"Yeah, yeah. I'll CashApp you; just get the books and hurry before my children have to go to sleep because I have them read it to me before bed!" Fredda interrupted.
"Fine, Fred. Just be sure to give me my money soon because if you don't... you know what's coming for you. I have been in that kind of game for a long time," Fluorescent warned, dropping her voice down a few notches.
"I know. Just hurry."
After that entire conversation was over, Fluorescent got up from the park bench she was sitting on and walked to a bookstore that had a section for children.
Picking up the book " Goldilocks and the Three Bears" and flipping to the end to see how many pages it had, she realized that this book was starting to slightly fade away and then it faded back. She had to blink hard to see if she was seeing things. Instead of ending with that she gets away safely and stays away from them, it becomes blank.
In its place, it began to describe the horrors of eating her flesh and drizzling her blood over their porridge. And included graphic pictures.
In disgust, Fluorescent dropped the book, which, despite being dropped spine up, ended up flipped over, open to the beginning of the book.
That wasn't the best part. The best part was that the image began to swirl and she began to see a real-life image of a little girl, mischievously skipping to a cottage in the middle of a forest cover in thick canopies and the only sound able to be heard was the little girl's off-tune version of Mozart.
Next thing Fluorescent knew, was that she was being sucked into the book, and darkness developed over her eyes.

"I am normal, much like you. I am able to go into children's books and fight the villains. However, they are not normal villains. Angry. Hungry, Bloodthirsty villains. Sometimes the main character is the actual villain. But children don't know that now do they?"

23-year-old Fluorescent Miller was at a children's book store when she learned that she could enter the books. She also learned that the book that they put on the shelves is just a caramel-coated version. The real versions are much more gruesome. Goldilocks? They kill her and put her in the new porridge that they make. Cinderella? The sister that marries the prince has the other sisters and mother served at a later banquet as entrees. The Three Little Pigs? The wolf kills two of the brothers and makes the third one eat them; he then proceeds to rape, kill, and eat the pig. Little Red Riding Hood?  The wolf eats the meat off of her bones and knocks out the hunter to do 'things' to him with her bones. Rapunzel? She was the real witch and lured princes there to grab and her hair and climb to her where she would eat them and make soup for her mother out of their bones. The list goes on and on. Her job is to make sure that the stories themselves remain in control so that they remain safe enough to stay on the shelves. 
But it gets worse. Not only can she go in children's books, but she can also go into adult horror books. She makes sure that the main character doesn't die so the book isn't meaningless. Including books like Slenderman and Annabelle. mainly Stephen King books.
Will she make it?

                                                                  ASSIGNMENTS
                                                              Three years before

At 15 years old, every boy and girl in the village receive their assignment- an assignment to marry your chosen man or woman. For most young men, it is a day of excitement; where for almost all of the young women, it is the exact opposite.
My mother was now dressing me in my special-occasions dress. It was the same pale lavender and pink color that every other 15-year-old girl in the village would be wearing today. Altogether, the dress had four different layers. The first layer was tight white undergarments, the second was a soft silky lavender dress. The third layer was a heavy pink cotton skirt with bows; there was also a pink ruffled shirt with a tight collar and poofy sleeves. The fourth and final layer was a thin purple cardigan that was meant for the cold but wouldn't even fit over the ridiculously large sleeves we wore. My hair was done up in a simple bun.
Most of the older women I knew said that this dress would be the second most uncomfortable dress we would ever wear (the most uncomfortable being the Joining dress). It was impractical, insulting, and unfair. Luckily, it wouldn't have to last for much longer; once you were Joined for at least a year, you could choose your own clothes. While almost all women found the required clothing ridiculous and stupid, none of us dared to say anything to the authorities, so we complained about it to our friends and family.
My mother led me out the door and towards the street where a hovercraft was waiting. There were 10 houses on my block and 5 other 15-year-olds. The only two I really knew were Daniel Tates and Diana Preston. Things were awkward between me and Daniel because his sister had been assigned to my older brother, John. Daniel and John were both 19, which meant that next year, at this time of year, they would participate in the Joining. The Joining was when the pairs who had been assigned to each other would be wedded. They would, then, be together for life. Never to be separated. 
I knew Diana Preston from school; we were often paired as partners for projects.

The seats in the hovercraft were reasonably comfortable, but the dress made them significantly hard to sit in. I was glad when the ride finally ended. We all got out and joined up with the 50 or so other 15-year-olds in the community.
I was standing there in a daze when my best friend, Rosie Simmons, said, smiling, "You excited?" in a sarcastic and dull voice. We had all dreaded this day for the past 9 years.
"No," I said without even trying for a smile.
"Yeah, me neither…" Rosie replied, her smile instantly disappearing.
Finally, we were taken into the large hall where 3 rows of bleachers had been set up. The crowd parted as the boys went to the right, the girls to the left; we all sat. Us girls were a mass of purple and pink, and the boys were all in simple dark blue suits; they seemed comfortable enough. As I was saying… unfair.
Soon after, a man in a white suit walked up onto the stage. He had a gorgeous woman at his arm. The man's hair was as white as his suit and his eyes were gentle blue. The woman was wearing a fancy, pale-green dress that was similar to the one I was wearing. Her hair was light brown and also in a bun.
"Welcome to all the young men and women here today," the man began. "As you know, you are here today to learn and celebrate your assignments."
We clapped. The man continued to give a speech about the glory and honor of your assignments.
"The first assignment is of Michael Abby." Michael walked to the stage. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He had never been very smart or very interesting, but he was always caring and considerate to me. "Jessica Olson."
Jessica walked to the stage. I believe they had matched them well. She was also not particularly smart or interesting but was also kind. They both seemed to be pleased.
Most times it is not the assignments that disappoint us, but the idea of being secured to a certain boy for the rest of our lives; after the Joining, we wouldn't be doing much else than serving them.
"Next, the assignment of Theodore Attler." He had blond hair and startling blue eyes. He might've been a teensy bit handsome but he wasn't too smart or kind to the girls. Among the boys, however, he was quite popular. "Rosalind Simmons."
To my left, my best friend let out a small groan. On the stage, Theodore- better known as Teddy, was grinning. Rosie slowly and reluctantly made her way to the stage.
She stood next to Teddy, her posture growing worse by the second; her face becoming more and more disappointed. Rosie looked at me, and I gave her a look that said I share your pain. I'm so sorry. I really was; this was one of the worst matches they'd ever made.
When she came down from the stage and slouched into her seat, I whispered, "Maybe you can be reassigned?���
"Not likely," she grumbled back. She was probably right; there have only been about 7 re-assignments in the last 30 years.
"Next, the assignment of Finn Brekle." Finn was handsome and nice. Not too smart, but not stupid either. He was the most well-known and popular boy amongst not only the 15-year-olds but also the 14-year-olds and the 16-year-olds. Half the girls next to me nearly fainted as he walked to the stage. I just rolled my eyes. I didn't care who I was assigned to, I really didn't. I just wanted to get this stupid ceremony over with.
"Juno Miller."
I blinked. My name rang in my ears. I looked at Rosie, who nodded, then back at the man on the stage and Finn. Slowly, I stood and walked down the aisle to the stage. I felt everyone's eyes on me. I slowly climbed the stairs, holding my heavy skirts up to keep from tripping. At the top, I turned to stare at Finn, who smiled beautifully at me. He seemed pleased, which amazed me. I didn't think I was pretty, and most of the boys had never seemed to notice me. Why would Finn be assigned to me out of all people? My red hair was too short (long story: I got angry one day, grabbed a kitchen knife, and sliced my hair off; I got in very big trouble), and my eyes were too dark and far too big. I was certainly not pretty, yet Finn was very satisfied.
Then, he took my arm and led me down the stairs until I reached my seat.
I didn't think about much for the rest of the ceremony. When it ended, it was common for the newly assigned pair to meet up and get to know each other better. As soon as I stood to walk over to Finn, Rosie leaped up and turned me to face her.
"I don't want to talk to Theodore!" she whined.
I glanced over at Teddy, who was talking to Finn (they were good friends).
"C'mon, I'm going to talk to Finn. I promise you won't have to say anything to Teddy." When we reached the two boys, Rosie and I curtsied. Finn bowed; Teddy did not.
"Juno!" Finn said, taking my arm.
"Finn." I nodded.
"Will you come with me for a minute?"
I glanced over at Rosie. She gave me a look that clearly read, If you leave me alone with him, I swear I will kill you!
I shook my head and replied with a look that said, There's not much I can do right now… I'll be back as soon as I can.
She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. I followed Finn into the courtyard, but not before stealing one last glance at Rosie and Teddy. I caught a glimpse of Rosie's grimace before turning to face Teddy.
He was smiling a dazzling, white-toothed smile. His green eyes crinkled perfectly when he smiled. I guess he was handsome enough. Finn stopped rather abruptly and I nearly walked into him. He turned around and grinned at me; he was obviously waiting for me to speak.
"So…" I said.
"So."
"Are you pleased with your assignment?" I asked, not quite sure what answer I would get.
"Yes," he said, plainly. His expression sure said the same. "Are you?"
I hesitated, then said, "Well, I'm certainly surprised. Do you think the matches were made well this year?" I could tell he was slightly disappointed with my answer, but it was as close to the truth as I could get without hurting him.
"Some were, some weren't. As usual."
"True. I honestly don't think Teddy and Rosie are a good assignment. That's just a disaster waiting to happen."
Finn thought for a moment. "No, I agree, but I'm not sure who else they would be matched with."
"That is just one of the many faults with the assignment process," I said, not yet realizing the severeness of the sentence.
Finn's smile vanished; he laughed uncomfortably. "Juno, that's a pretty serious thing to say, especially for someone in your position."
I raised my eyebrows at Finn. "I mean, it is true, right? It's not like anyone's listening." I couldn't have been more wrong.
Finn glanced from side to side like he was looking for someone. "I don't know what you mean…" he said slowly.
I shook my head and went to go rescue Rosie.

In a world where everything is chosen for you, can Juno Miller defy the rules and survive?

Quick authors note- this chapter is going to be a time jump I figured no one needed to have 10 chapters of Scarlett growing up from a baby to a toddler. 

It's now been 3 years since I was born and my mother was now pregnant again. My parents were so excited to give me a younger sibling, in this world having one child was hard enough but two or more was somewhat rare. 

On top of that I spent every day training to become stronger mentally and physically. When my parents would go off to work and they'd leave me in a pre school like room with the other children. i would try and lift anything heavy, over and over again to try and get some muscle mass. Oliver would join me, he had the same idea I did. 

We would race each other multiple times a day to improve. I made it a point to read everything I could get my chubby hands on. Of course the women that watched us noticed our little workouts and my attempt to read and speak. 

She felt we should both be tested to see if we were anything "special". Knight Cathy Adams agreed and so did my parents. So Oliver and I were taken to the science labs to talk to the Frantz's. I went with Mr. Frantz and Oliver went with Mrs.Frantz.

"Okay young lady can you say the alphabet?" Mr Frantz asked me quizzically. I giggled at him of course I could. " And X, Y, Z" I finished proudly smiling at him. "Hmm very good" smiled Mr.Frantz "How far can you count to?" Oh boy should I count to 100? No that might scare him, how about to 20 that seems reasonable. "19,20!" I laughed as I finished. Mr Frantz smiled at me, we then went over colors and he had me stack blocks. He had me run and jump and lift things, and then read and write.

I did my best to act like my handwriting was that of an early school aged child so he wouldn't get suspicious. "Well Scarlett it looks like you are a very bright kiddo." I grinned at Mr.Frantz "And it seems like your little friend Oliver is too." 

I turned my head at the door as he said that, my
Parents, Mrs.Frantz, Cathy, and Oliver came into the room. The adults talked about our results for the tests, apparently we were above the average intelligence for three year olds.

Our parents agreed we should be put in with the older school aged children. About aged 5-7, Oliver and I were thrilled. If we kept up the image of being little geniuses we could be finished studying with the 5-7 year olds within 5 months. Then if we were lucky we would get special tutoring from some of the scientists preferably the Frantz's. 

Our parents had a little celebration later that evening Oliver and I even got to have some Sweet Rolls and Nuka Cola! Special occasion call for treats we don't get very often. 

While we were celebrating my mother suddenly got a strange look on her face as she shuffled to the bathroom. My father a big gruff man about 6'5 and 220 pounds suddenly turned to mush when he saw my mother's expression. Oliver's mother Cathy tried to distract me from seeing what was happening.

We heard my mother groan from the bathroom "Lynnell what's the matter? Is it time?" My fathers worried voice carried into the kitchen/living room where our group of friends were. "Matthew take me to the infirmary, your about to become a father again."

It was a bright and sunny day. Sounds of life were everywhere on the island of Patch. The birds sang and chirped in the forest alongside their woodland friends, the people in the small town went about their day with a smile, dogs barked happily and cats purred in contentment. Positivity thrummed and thrived, and there was so much of it that the Grimm cowered and ran back to whatever dark crevices that they came from with their tails between their legs. 

 Life was good, everyone was beyond happy. There wasn't any particular reason for it, it was just one of those days where people would look up, sigh in contentment and say "Life is good." 

 It was bright and happy everywhere…. except for a certain two-story log house on the outskirts of a forest. 

 A certain reaper with a tattered, red cape and black slacks inwardly sighed as he dragged himself towards the door of the house, picking up his sword off of a nearby weapon rack on his way out. 

 Now, it wasn't really his fault that he was dragging his feet. But at the same time, it wasn't like he could blame the 2 little reasons for why his feet were dragging. Qrow sighed again, this time out loud, and stopped as he looked at the two 5-year-olds that were holding onto his legs as he tried to walk to the front door. 

 Sheathing his sword onto its usual spot on his back, he tiredly massaged his forehead with his right hand. "Ruby, Kit, will you please let go?" 

 "NO!!" Ruby shouted out. Kit shook his head, making sure the reaper knew that he wouldn't let go either. Both his hands clutched tightly around his uncle's leg, with all the strength that his 5-year-old hands had. 

 If anyone had been watching, it would've been an absolutely, downright hilarious sight to see. A grown man walking around with 2 little kids clutching his ankles as they tried their best to stop him from leaving. 

 "We don't want you to go, Uncle Qrow!" Ruby shouted out. 

Qrow whipped his head to his left as loud, rambunctious laughter exploded out. A tall, blonde haired man with a lively expression on his face walked out from the shadow of the doorway to the kitchen, laughing at the sight that was in front of him.

The mysterious and deadly reaper of grimm, the man who many criminals feared as bloody death itself, was practically being tied down by two 5-year-olds. 

Tai could barely stop himself from being bent in half from laughing so much. 

Said man being tied down by two 5-year-olds gave him an annoyed look. "Tai, get over here and get your kids off me!"

The man that was Qrow's brother for life, the one that had stood by him time and time again, saving his life countless times…. just stood there shaking his head. "Sorry, Qrow. No can do." Tai shrugged helplessly, but it was offset by that smirk that was plastered onto his face. "What do you want me to say, man? They really love their Uncle Qrow." 

'This is getting nowhere!' Qrow thought to himself. He looked down again at the 2 little kids that had a death grip on his legs. "I'm only going to be gone for a week, promise. There's some Hunter business that needs to get done, and I've gotta be the one to do it." 

The 5-year-old with the orange fox tail looked at his red-hooded twin, before giving his Uncle Qrow a look. 

Ruby nodded, agreeing with her twin. "Yeah, what Kit said!" 

At this point another kid made herself known, one with blonde hair and lilac eyes. Yang came out from behind her dad, shaking her head with a smile. "Ruby, how do you even know what Kit said? He didn't even say anything."

"Twin power!" 

Yang giggled at her sister's innocent reply, echoing her dad who was chuckling right next to her. "Okay, so for everyone else that doesn't have 'twin power', can you tell us what Kit said?"

Ruby scrunched up her face in thought, before thinking that it made sense. It's not like everyone else was her twin, right? So of course they wouldn't have her twin power! The black-haired 5-year-old looked up at her uncle who'd tried to slip out of their grasp while everyone else wasn't paying attention. "Kit said that we can't trust your promises!"

Hearing this, Qrow gazed at his nephew. "Oh, really?" He said, dragging out the last word. "And did he say why?"

Ruby nodded her head. "Last time you said you'd be gone for a week, you didn't come back for a month." 

The black-haired reaper sweated a little at his niece's statement. Flashbacks about the drunken escapades that he'd gotten into after celebrating another successful mission done for Oz flashed through his mind. One particular waitress came to mind. She'd delayed his return with her amazing 'customer service' for a few days just by herself.

"They've got ya there, Qrow." Tai said. "You do kinda just disappear and not come back for a while."

"Tai," Qrow replied with a deadpanned expression. "You're not helping here." 

The man just crossed his arms over his brown leather vest with a smirk. "Oh, I know I'm not. I never said I would, either." 

 Qrow gave him a look, irritation flickering through his eyes. Lesser men had quivered in fear under his stare.

 But there was a reason why Taiyang Xiao-Long was once revered as a Huntsman among Huntsmen. When he had been an active Hunter, people had a saying when it came to him. 

"The Dragon Fears Nothing."

He'd been a man that had stared down a rampaging herd of Goliaths and stood strong! Nothing stopped The Dragon!  

Especially not an irritated look from a crow.

Taiyang just stared right back at him with a smirk and a cocked eyebrow, just waiting for a challenge. 

….Qrow was the one who ended up looking away first. 'Dammit. Never did manage to stare him down back then, either.'

The reaper knew that he couldn't look down again towards the two reasons why he hadn't left the house yet either. If he saw one of the twins' famous wide-eyed pouts, there was no way he'd be able to go on Oz's assignment. 

Seeing no other way out, the black-haired man finally looked at the only responsible one of the family. 

….but she was also the one who was least likely to him out at this point.

"Yang," Qrow said with a sigh. "Please. Do something?"

The blonde-haired 8 year old stared at her uncle, a finger tapping on her chin in thought. She could say no…  but her uncle did say that it was important for him to go this time. But then again, without her Uncle Qrow around, the twins might start turning their pranks towards her instead. Still…

Suddenly, it was like a lightbulb went off in her head, and she stared her at her uncle right in the eyes. "What's in it for me?" She asked, her long blonde hair ruffling behind her.

Qrow paused. For a split-second, Yang's figure had overlapped with another one from his memories. One with black hair and red eyes, staring at him as she said the exact same thing. 'D*mn. Raven would be proud if she saw this. Her daughter is already learning the art of extortion.' 

At this point though, he was completely at her mercy. So he said the exact same thing he'd said whenever Raven had the same look in her eye. 

"Alright," Qrow drawled as he looked into his niece's eyes. "What do you want?"

'YES!' The little sun dragon cheered silently in her head as soon as she heard her Uncle Qrow admit defeat. This whole thing hadn't been planned, but it still worked out pretty well. "Take us to Signal with you on the next 'Bring Your Kids To Work Day'."

The red-eyed man squinted his eyes suspiciously as he looked towards his niece. "Why do you want to go Signal with me?" He asked.

"Cuz Signal's awesome! Duh." 

Qrow mulled it over in his head for a second. It wasn't that bad of a request, and in all honesty, he'd thought she'd go for something a lot harder, like helping her convince her dad to get her a motorcycle. It's what she'd been trying to get him to do for the past few months after all. 

Even though he knew what the answer would be, he still looked over towards Tai for confirmation first. 

The man just shrugged, the metal pauldron on his shouldering clanking a little as it rose up before falling down again. 

Qrow took that as a sign that he was alright with it.

"Ok, little lady. You've got yourself a deal."

 The budding, blonde extortionist smiled as she cheered silently in her head. With a confident air, she walked towards the twin cookie monsters clinging onto their uncle's leg for dear life. 

Bending down so she was level with their heads, she whispered into their ears. "Kit? Ruby? Would you pleeease let go of Uncle Qrow's leg?" 

The orange-ish blonde-haired twin shook his head, while the black-haired twin yelled out, "Never!"

"But if you do, I'll put a little something extra in your lunch!" Yang smiled and said in a sing-song voice. 

Faster than lightning, both twins let go of their uncle's leg at the same time and spun around to look at their sister.

""REALLY?!"" The both of them asked excitedly, Ruby shouting it out while her twin signed in VSL excitedly. 

Yang nodded.

"YAY!!" Ruby screamed out, her brother echoing in his own way. "Bye, Uncle Qrow!" The black-haired twin said, as the orange-blonde haired one waved.

….Qrow was dumbfounded. He stood there for a few seconds as the rest of the family went into the kitchen to pack lunch for the kids, before he finally snapped out of it and went out the door, his red cape flourishing dramatically as he left the Xiao-Long/Rose residence.

If anyone was nearby as he left, they would have heard the fearsome reaper mutter to himself, "Can't believe I got replaced by fruit!"

They screamed and drank either apple juice or cola from their cups. 'Drink, Ching Ching,' Hissed Natalie. Emily drank her paper cup of coca cola. 'Why are you all so happy?' She asked. 'Wait... Your sister looks familiar. Is she... the famous television star 瑤瑤姐(Yiu Yiu Jie)???? Wait??? Is she??? Why didn't you tell me??' 
Natalie sighed, and thought about her past...
*flashback*
'Onee-chan!!' Natalie shouted as soon her sister had returned home from school. 'Hi, Nat,' the 8 year old Noelle put down her school bag. 'We're going to try out for SETS today. Have you practiced your routine?' Noelle then said with a serious expression on her face. 'Okay!! I'll try my best!!' 
TIME SKIP...
'Both of you got in to SETS just like your cousin. I'm so proud of you both. Right, Nicole?' Mrs Ching said while fondling the newest addition to the family- a baby girl whom they named Nicole. 'Hai!! Thanks mama. I promise to work hard and make my family proud of me!' Natalie said, happy. 'Thank you. If you excuse me, I'll go back to my room,' Noelle said, and went back to her room. What happened to ka jie (older sister)?? She used to be energetic. Doing homework? I'll just leave her alone, I guess. The 5 year old Natalie thought. She was still naive and childish and did not understand sadness. 
TIME SKIP...
'Noelle Ching, congratulations for making it to the one of the best classes in the entire Hong Kong. Please tell me if you have any difficulties because you're competing against girls 3 years your senior. Okay?' Miss Tana said to Noelle. 'Okay. Thanks Miss Tana.' Noelle replied and went to class. 'Ha!! That's a baby. What's a baby doing in our class, huh?' A group of big girls laughed. Noelle was shorter than most children her age, and even though she wore glasses, you can easily mistake her for a 7 or an 8 year old. 'I'm ten...' Noelle whispered. 'You're ten? What's a ten year old doing in a class that's supposed to be for 12 year olds? Get out here!!' A girl with a ponytail, obviously the leader, teased, no bullied the newcomer girl. 'Yeah, Jessalyn. 給我們滾!!! (Beat it, kid. Get out and leave us alone!!)' The girls all chorused. 
However, 5 year old Natalie saw everything...
TIME SKIP...
As time passed, Noelle used her skill, tactics and intelligence to beat the other kids, making it to the top class and become the head prefect of Happy Valley Public Primary School soon after. The other kids learnt to respect her and stopped bullying her, some of them even offered to be friends with her. Except Jessalyn, of course. Since she made it to the national television as an aspiring star, Jessalyn's jealousy grew. Luckily, Noelle's unit partner, Luna, helped confront Jessalyn and report her to the school. Jessalyn then turned her bullying target to Noelle's younger sisters, Natalie and Nicole, who were still inexperienced. 
The Ching siblings hated Jessalyn, and would do anything to get their revenge. 
*Flashback ended*
Then... Could Noelle or Natalie killed Jessalyn, or had took part in the murder??
Emily decided to secretly investigate this case, for Noelle and Natalie might be the main suspects. 
So, she decided to go back to the girls' bathroom, her hand holding a pen and some paper from a useless exercise book, to where the body lay, and started to draw a picture of the crime scene...
