This story is about an average high school boy with an average lifestyle who likes to read novels especially fantasy ones and was transferred to another world along with his classmates from his school.

As they were transferred our protagonist, John Kaiser, was the sole student among his classmates who were left behind, leaving him all alone in their classroom.

As he was wondering what happened to the others, he remembered one of the novels he had read. It was a story of a fantasy world, where a king of a human kingdom summons heroes from another world to save their world from the demon king, a typical Isekai (Another World)  fantasy novel.

Our protagonist, John Kaiser, started to contemplate and question 'why?' why was he the only one not summoned?

And as his questions go crazy, a light emerges from the place where he was sitting.

Is this the start of our protagonist's fantasy adventure as a hero? Or will he live the same life again as an average person even in another world?

"s..s...sist?" my hands trembling. The voice I haven't heard for years, the presence of a sister that slowly fade away, but I still can recognize her voice. It's really Cindy. 

"STEFFI ! IS THAT REALLY YOU ?" I heard Cindy's voice shaking on the phone, followed by another sobs. It was more than crying, it was the kind of desolate sobbing that comes from a person drained of all hope.

"You...you have to come back home Steffi ! Dad's life.... can't hold it any longer ! You have to meet him !" there's gasping wails echoed around the empty room.

"Sist.... What..happen?" I still couldn't talk properly, hardly move my tongue. I was shocked and terrified at the same time. There's a feeling inside the chest, deep inside.. I afraid losing my dad. 

"Dad has a heart disease since 3 years ago..... We've done.... a lot of surgeries... or medical .....but... and now he..... is suffering...this... is.... Too...bad Steffi.... He....... wants to.... meet you so........ bad" she stuttered, hardly speak properly, but I understand every single words she implied. In Cindy's sobbing was the sound of a heart breaking. My body couldn't hold the gravity, as it shaking, wobbling, and falling to my knees, left me boneless. My eyes are wide open. Why... why dad..

The pain I carry in my chest is inexplicable. I hate him in the past, but deep inside I still love my dad so much, I want to see him for the last time. The very last time before he leaves this world. Noah's words echoing inside my head. Yes, I should go and meet him for the last time. 

I drowned in sadness, I can't pull myself to stand yet tears come in such generous streams as I long for a hand to reach up. 

The long minutes drag into even longer hours but I refuse to look at the clock again and again. The last time I peep the clock they are just 3 a.m. It would be enough to send my heart racing and undo the calming effect of being so restful. I can't sleep, can't stop thinking about my dad. It was all my fault, I left the town without saying a single word. I delete my social medias, I change my messenger's account, at first I thought it was better this way.

I texted Lily, Lily must have asleep. But I hope she replied me in the morning, I know she will, I don't know... I just can't think properly right now. I have to go home, I have to meet my dad. I have to say sorry. 

Deep inside this heart there's another thing...Noah...it just hard for me to leave Noah, I mean everything here is just pretty, I just planned to stay longer, but I have no choice. I'm sorry Noah... I know.. I am just a nobody to you, but you've been a very good –friend of mine, even though the feelings I felt is far different from a word FRIEND.

I turn the lights on, drag the drawer from my bedside table, tear a paper from my black –diary, I grab a pen and start writing. My eyes shifted to the side again, became glazed with a glassy layer of tears. As I blinked, they dripped from my eyelids, slid down to my cheeks. 

It's still early in the morning, Jane usually arrive at 7, I've packed my stuffs, ready for the flights. Noah comes everyday between 9 -10 a.m. in the morning for an Americano, I will pass the letter to either Jane or Cara and I will talk to my boss. I have to let Noah knows too, at least he knows I am leaving, I am not leaving for a while which means I might not come back. It's hard for me to say goodbye to him, everything is just hard. 

It is the time. The time I knew would come sooner or later but dreaded. I had to say goodbye to the only person that I felt cared, to the only person that I felt happy with. How was I supposed to just do it without feeling like I've lost a part of me? All those times when we talk, joke, laugh and other normal things we usually do will leave me scars of leaving you, there's always a thing lack of something inside me because you are not by my side anymore. When I almost forgot how it felt to be care of, he was the one who showed me. When I felt like the world was falling apart around me, he made me feel as though it wasn't so bad. When I felt like nothing could make me feel better, he somehow managed to put even the silliest things he might do to cheer me up, it is just beautiful Noah. I afraid I am losing my way to come back to you, but every end has a new beginning and I hope the new beginning is the dawn of something special, I hope you are doing fine Noah.

There's a song played in my airpods. Day 1 – HONNE , playing Noah Hoskin's playlist in the application. He saved his favorite songs in the internet.

I turn my body back looking at the L.A. airport towering above the light blue sky. It's hard for me to leave this town. I don't want to leave this town, especially the little memories Noah made for me still bubbling inside my head.

Everything is just beautiful, with you inside. Ah, it's more than precious or beautiful.. They are more than that, I don't even know how to describe it. 

There is such sadness in leaving a place of strong love. I grab my phone from my coat, watching the wallpaper on my lock screen as I sniffed a smile. The picture of us at the cliff, that first time you talked to me properly, the picture you took with my camera, when I am not ready. Somehow it looks cute.. 

Now, they will become "just a memory". Nothings more than that....

I am both happy and sad at the same time. I am sad because I have to leave this town leaving Noah without saying goodbye, he must be pissed off, and I am happy because I spent the whole time in L.A. with him. How I wish I could stay longer with him. I must have done a lot of things, like what Noah promised me, such a sweet guy.. I guess I don't have to be so sad.. I used to be so strong. 

In the airport

I've just landed, Lily's text message popped up from my phone –screen.

"I'm so sorry dear.. text me if anything happen, I'll try my best to help you"

"Thanks Lily, I've arrived. I hope to see you soon"

"STEFFI !!" Cindy yelled as she came approaching me from the far, hugging me so tight I can barely breath, her fiancé is with her. I saw a wedding ring on his finger. They are married. I just realized how long they've lost myself.

"We miss you so much little sist" she sniffed in tears. I tap her back gently, "Me too" replied her with a soft smile across my face. It's been so long. 

On our way home, I didn't say a word and so they are. We are in sorrow right now, nothing's good to share. Cindy doesn't even talk about his marriage to me. I can tolerate her, I mean it was my fault too. I was leaving without saying a word. But I was curious, how can they find my phone number? Lily doesn't know them, so I don't think Lily did. 

As we arrived in the hospital, three of us running into the elevator, Cindy quickly push the 6th button. We are running out of time, since I need at least a day flight to arrive here. My heart's beating faster, in my heart I keep praying to God to let me see and talk to dad even for a while. I want to say sorry to him, I don't want to keep the guilt inside my heart forever. And... I .. miss...dad...

I push the ICU door, bring me inside the room with eyes wide open, sniffing my fingers. Clara gives me a hug "Steffi" and sobs, then I see my dad waving his stiff hand towards me, smiling stiff as he hardly moved his jaw. He is in pain, but he is waiting for my presence. Thank God I still got time. 

"Dad...." I called him.. tears bursting down like waterfalls. I run towards him, give him a very gentle hug, a long lost hug. "Dad..." still sobbing like little kid. "I am sorry.. I leave without saying a word....I should have stayed beside you" my breathing was ragged, gasping, eating my own guilts. This is worse than a broken heart I've ever felt.  

Dad swayed his hand slowly across my hair. "It's okay Steffi....." he took another deep hoarse breath, he taps my back gently as the thin pipe following his gestures, his big crinkled hands are in pain, those injections are aching his veins "I am the one that should be...sorry" another hoarse breath, deeper.." I am sorry to believe those kind of ..things... I realize... I should have...." deeper hoarse breath "treated you  better.... You... have to stay contact with your...sisters...." His hand is shaking, he closed his eyes taking another hoarse breath "We ....all...love....you.."

TIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT..................

Long leaking voice from the monitor, dad loosened his arm, now falling to the empty space. The moment I feel really really hurt inside the chest, more than I've ever felt... this time I lost my dad.. forever... I can't even see him anymore... he is.. totally gone... leaving this world...

My eyes drip with tears. I always been so self-conscious when I cry but now I just give the way to the enormity of my grief. I sobbed into my hands and the tears dripped between my fingers, raining down onto dad's crinkled skin. My walls, the walls that hold me up and make me strong just... collapse. Salty drops fall from my chin, drenching my shirt.

I never experienced grief this bad before. Every memory played like a song in my head, repeating itself for what seemed like forever. I remember the time when I was a kid and the youngest among all, since Cindy and Clara is older than me. Dad used to hold me onto his lap, making a cute brurp –brup sound as we are driving a boat, Cindy and Clara will be the boat keeper. I still remember when the time dad and mom were still together. We went to karaoke every Sunday, mostly sang children's song or Mandarin old song of their teenage time. I always love having them around me.. far before it happened. 

At first, I thought grief was something bad that takes you ten feet under but soon I learned that it was just the price we had to pay for loving someone. 

I sank to my knees at the tiny grave, not caring for the damp mud that dirtied my dress. My tears mingled with the rain, gasping wails echoed around the gravestones. I never got to tell him I love him one last time....

"What the heck, a female escort? Even if I am, I will certainly be picky and not choose someone so ugly, stinking, fat like him! Make sure you translate that word by word to that pervert!" Arya was gritting her teeth. 

She couldn't believe that she was harassed, because she had been mistaken as a female escort.
 
The police had explained to her that the man had thought she was a female escort he requested since she was the only stunning woman inside the bar.
 
Arya raised an eyebrow. She didn't even know if she should be thankful for the compliment. But still, he harassed and almost hit her.
 
"Tell him that he must approach a woman nicely, whether she's a female escort or not, and the next time he requests for one get a picture, so he can recognize her properly!" she hissed and filed a complaint, to make sure that perverted and rude fatty would be punished properly.
 
Ryu was just observing the lady, who was burning hot right then in anger. 

He found her funny, just a while ago at the hotel's restaurant, eating in front of him like she's been starving for days. 

She seemed not to care about her surroundings at all and did things as she liked.
 
He saw her pout her lips, and now she was acting like a child throwing tantrums. Ryu was grinning inwardly. There was something in her that had piqued his interest.
 
His attorney had already arrived, "Sir, the car is waiting outside. We will take care of the rest."
 
Ryu nodded and looked at Arya. "Let's go," he said in a cold tone. Arya followed him outside.
 
Arya hesitated to get inside his car because she didn't know much about him yet. 

What if he was actually a bad person and was just in disguise? Maybe that was the reason Rita had planned something like that towards him to get even because Ryu had also done something bad?
 
She had been pestering Kay about the real reason, why Rita had planned something like that, but Kay did not have an idea either. 

He said that he just thought about her when he had been tasked to find someone qualified for that job. 

She was the first person coming to his mind, as he knew how terrible her situation was right now.
 
"You go ahead. I will just get a cab. Thanks again." She said politely before she turned her back on him.
 
Then she hurriedly walked to get a cab. After getting into the car, she started massaging her temples. 

How could she complete the job if she was acting weird like that? She had just let an opportunity slip away. She didn't know why, but she was feeling somewhat nervous with the way he looked at her.

Upon her arrival at the hotel, Arya went back to the bar to get another drink. Her first day turned out to be a mess.
 
She called her mother. "Mom, how is Reese? Anyway, I will be back after a week. Keep me updated on the situation there, okay?" She said in a low tone.
 
"Are you alright, dear? Why is your voice like that? Are you drinking? Don't worry about us. I have told you already, your friend Rita is assisting us very well," her mother said, from the other end of the line.
 
Arya smiled and said, "Yup, I am drinking, that's why my voice is like this. It's boring in here. Kay will arrive tomorrow. Nevermind, I have just called you to say I love you and already miss you guys."
 
Arya's mother laughed, "You're just gone for a day, dear. Take good care of yourself and don't worry too much."
 
"Okay, uhm has dad called already?" Arya asked. Then, it was just silence. 

She heard her mom sigh deeply.
 
"Mom, just stay strong in there. I have to go now. Bye, Mom," Arya said, then pressed the end button.
 
Ryu Ken had business dealings in this country. Rita thought that it was the perfect opportunity, so she had booked a room for her in the same hotel.
 
What a coincidence, since she was also a part of the fashion show, which was going to be held in this country. 

That was her first time being on a Fashion Runway Show. Kay believed in her so much, to put her on the spot like that.
 
She had another cocktail shot. She felt that she had already drunk too much, so she rose up to go back to her room.
 
She was already feeling dizzy. She saw closing elevator doors and said, "Wait."
 
The closing doors opened once more. Arya smiled sweetly and said, "Thank you."
 
Then, she narrowed her eyes and pressed the number of her floor. Well, she had actually pressed all the floors above hers as well, then she giggled.
 
She checked her phone and the posts online. Then, it suddenly rang, it was another unknown number.
 
"Just how many sim cards are you planning to buy and use, asshole?" She mumbled as she looked on her phone screen that kept on blinking and ringing.
 
"Just block all unknown numbers," she heard a man's voice.
 
Arya sighed and said, "What if my dad is the one, who is calling. His number is always unknown."
 
"Then change your number, instead and inform your dad about it," said the intruder with an irritated voice.
 
Arya just remained quiet. She did not bother to look at the man, who was talking back to her. 

She was really feeling so dizzy at that moment like she was about to faint, so she hurriedly walked to her room 'drunk walking'.
 
She felt an arm encircling her waist. "Why get binged alone if you can't even handle walking properly?" the man whispered beside her ear.

She tilted her head to look up at the rude man and was left open-mouthed looking at a familiar face. She was shocked but mumbled, "Ryu?"

Ryu smirked and stared at Arya's slightly opened lips and said, "Did you miss me? How about this?"

Before Arya could utter another word, Ryu captured her lips abruptly and kissed her roughly.

The girl amused by looking at Erna, "ahahaha...what? you denied it?", another girl beside her spoke up "what a s**t..." She smile, (omg... teenagers is troublesome) "I'm sorry, but I don't want to talk with amateur, where is your parents?" Erna said, they all look pissed. "ha! speak for yourself!" oh, she forgot even though her age is 25 years old but they will clearly mistaken her by 13 years old girl. (urrghh.... now they will think I'm talking nonesense!) too late they already did. "You! 13 year old girl slept with my future husband, '27' year old! how disgraceful!" another one attack "how did you sleep with him? did you begging at his leg??" and another one "probably she bribed him or blackmailing him!" they all laugh at her. 

"tch...." the only words that come out from her mouth. "what's that?", "aww... the s**t is speechless maybe what we said is true~" again another laugh, She not angry but whenever they laugh, they attracted too much attention, she hated it "Ladies, can you guys keep it down", a thick Spanish accent come out of nowhere, he's not asking but telling them, the three girl turn at their back and saw a man, Erna eyes widened, she saw Christopher! (why are you still here, dammit!). The front girl look at him arrogantly "huh?! mind your own business old man!", "Don't you know who she is!?" another girl said, "She is the future wife of Daniel Williamsburg! The most powerful CEO in the line of business!", yes, it is true that her brother is powerful but he doesn't use the power in wrong way, the front girl had a proud face, she like the comments her girls spoke up. "you mean my troublesome big brother?" Erna finally said, cannot take it anymore, she hated people like them the most, lies. "oh! as far as I know my brother is single and I don't think my brother will look at a girl like you, if he did, I will shock to dead, even my grandparents will not believe it even you explained it millions time.." Erna look at the girl in front of her and circling her as she judges her appearance, her hand touch her chin and put her other hand to support the elbow, like an expert she is "uhmm...". 

"what are you doing?!" she look at Erna, her face turn pale when Erna look at her with her green eyes meet with her brown eye, what if a girl in front of her is the real granddaughter of Williamsburg, isn't that meant she will be doomed, she gulped . "uhmm what's wrong? afraid? don't be, I don't bite" Erna smiled. She walked pass them and take Christopher wrist hard. "What a bi**h!!" one of that girl shouted. "ahaha.... what a joke right? she just bluffing!" the girl behind her laughed but then they all startled when red pair of eyes look at them as that eyes said 'you guys wanna meet your maker soon?'. *gulped* they all turn silence. "By the way!" Erna walked back at her, stood in front of her. Opening her black purse she took makeup remover spray, "close your eyes sweetie~" unexpectedly, that girl obediently close her eyes. *sprayed* she spray the makeup remover towards the girl in front of her, revealing her true natural face, it's actually quite pretty in Erna view, "uhmm not bad" all her thick makeup drip and drop at the marble tiles. "there much better.." Erna gave her tissues at her and bid her goodbye. "see ya around~" back to Christopher.

At the balcony, there stood a guy and a girl shining through the moonlight, their dress makes them look like they're king and queen of darkness. "Why are you still here?" Erna started first, "who are they?" Christopher asked her with deadly stare that supposed to meant for that three girl. "hey, I asked you first...." , "I asked you second...", silence accompany them, 5 minutes passed, they both still look at each other eyes. Erna sigh, "I hated this awkward silence..." she whispered softly but Christopher can hear her clearly. "Then you should just give up and answer my questions..." he smirk, sometimes if she brave enough to tear that smirk face on him, he probably at hospital by now. "fine, fine! I just meet them... they talked rubbish about me, at first I intend to ignore them but they making this Latino girl in rage!", he raised his brow as saying to her to 'continue' . "well, they asked for it ..." Erna awkwardly laugh, this suddenly remind her "what are you still doing here?", Christopher say "why? is it wrong for the CEO to inspect his own building?" so it is his building no wonder. He smiled, (I bet this man had a problem with his mouth, he keeps on smile and smirking.) "you better do some check-up with doctor." Erna blurted, she hate thinking too much. Christopher now that smile, smiling even more like a freak. (SEE! he clearly had a problem!). "why would I see the doctor for?", "you keep on smiling like a freak! You surely had problems right?". 

Is she asking out of concern or want him to had problems? he smiled even more that making Erna wanted to call ambulance, she open her purse, take her smartphone out and put it at her ear, Christopher said "yes... I did had 'a' problem....", "I know, that's why I'm calling the ambulance right now..." *ringggs* *ringggs*, Erna feels something warm just touched her small face, Christopher take her phone and cancel the call, but put her phone at his pocket (!!!). "my problem is you....", "whatahwahat???? did I pulled you hard that your brain cells is not properly working????", he bent little and look at her face, this making Erna blush on how close they are, "yes... my brain cells is not properly working when I'm with you." (geez, aren't you tired making pick up lines?) Erna move back a little, making some space in between, clearing her throats. She stretch her hand and open her palm, as she about to said a word, this man in front of shamelessly laid his head at her palm. 

Her finger touch slightly his hair, (so soft ..) this making her wanted to touch it but she better not, she still had some sense. "what are you doing?", "didn't I tell you that my brain cells is not working properly lately?" he winked at her with smile on his face. *slap* she put both of her hand at his cheek and squeeze it, (cute...) "that's why I'm calling the ambulance, I stretch my hand because I want my phone back.... old man~" she returns the favor and winked at him.

As one hunter that posed a threat to Chu Yue had already made the scene, Xiao Luo was in a state of high tension these days. Whether in class or choir practice, he was exceptionally sensitive to every stranger who had shown up.
With far-reaching influence and resources, Chu Yunxiong had got his hands on the hunter's information.

"Yeah Ruoran, let's call it for today. Not to mention that my throat has become sore, even my legs have become wobbly after all the standing. I can't even feel them."
"Two hours is long enough. We have another two weeks' time anyway. Let's continue practicing tomorrow!"

Xiao Luo didn't give a damn at all. He didn't come to Huaye to get restricted, let alone participate in this damned choir. He was just a bodyguard in disguise, and it wasn't necessary for him to be so competent in being a student.
"Well, my apologies. You may proceed with the practice. I'm hungry, gonna go grab some food!" Xiao Luo dropped a word and left.
"Brother Luo, wait for us!"
Zhu Xiaofei and Ding Kai quickly tagged along. They had enough of the girl's oppression. They felt that now was the time for the boys to mount a comeback, bulking up some manliness and become the masters.
An Huanhuan pouted her lips as she muttered to herself, "Hero Luo is really going against Ruoran!"
The three departed, blatantly challenging Huang Ruoran's authority as the class monitor. Huang Ruoran ran after them and stretched her arms to block their path. With her teeth clenched and eyes that were about to spurt fire, like a raging leopardess, she said word by word, "I said, we will dismiss after another five times. Do you three hear me?"
"Ruoran, we're really hungry. See, even my chest is touching my back," Zhu Xiaofei said while patting his chest.
What he said was ineluctably hilarious. Affiliating his round physique with the phrase 'chest touching his back', he was really lying through his teeth.
Ding Kai echoed, "I'm famished. Ruoran, please be merciful and let us go for lunch. If I faint due to low blood sugar, you will have to take full responsibility. When I go to the hospital, the registration fee, consultation fee, medical expense, nutrition expense… you need to reimburse me everything!"
"Shut up!"
Huang Ruoran was exasperated. With her fist clenched, he glared at Xiao Luo ragefully and commanded, "Get back, you may go anywhere you want after we finish the last five practices."
"We've been practicing for two hours. Even a two-period class should've ended by now."
Xiao Luo continued, "This isn't how we should practice choir. When everyone doesn't wish to continue practicing, not to mention five times, even fifty or a hundred times will yield no effect. You are only wasting time."
"Don't make excuses for your laziness!" Huang Ruoran said indifferently.
Xiao Luo shook his head, "I wasn't finding an excuse. You are the class monitor. You gathered everyone during our free time to practice choir, and nobody said a thing. We put aside what we were doing and hurried to this pavilion to practice singing. You on the other hand, should you consider for all of us as well?
He paused for a while and continued, "Now, we have been practicing for two hours non-stop. The fact that we are always standing aside, the singing is already a pain by itself. Since we can't even sing 'Yellow River' properly even after practicing for so long, you should stop and think about whether this training method is wrong instead if insisting everyone to sing for another five times."
Although Xiao Luo was once again on the opposite side of Huang Ruoran, the girls in the Professional English major supported Xiao Luo's statement. Even the girls who have always sided Huang Ruoran felt that Xiao Luo was being very logical this time. After all, it had almost been five days since they began training. Since they were still unable to sing 'Yellow River' properly, something must be wrong with the training method.
"After so many days the poser came here, I think he's right this time," Chu Yue said while pouting
Bai Ling nodded as she felt the same. Then, she shook her head again as she felt that everything that Xiao Luo said previously was also very reasonable.
Huang Ruoran felt that she had managed the class well in an orderly manner. But after Xiao Luo came, everything changed. Her authority as the class monitor was under an unprecedented attack. Gritting her teeth, she asked Xiao Luo, "Xiao Luo, why are you always against me?"
"You are thinking too much. I'm not against anyone. Believe it or not, I've forgone everything in the past, otherwise, I wouldn't have hurried to this place at first time after receiving your message. 'What was he thinking to look down at the institution that had been built for centuries?'
With the remaining energy he had left, he could only glare at the annoying brat. He wanted to conserve as much energy for the more important discussion and defending KEI was not worth it at the moment. 
"Did you know you're THE unwanted for Sara?" 
"Does it matter?" 
"Do you know what that means?"
"Does it matter?" 
"That means you're not the one meant for her. Why would you pursue her in the first place, I never know."
Lucas could not understand why the annoying brat tried to prick him so much. He had already married to Sara, what was the point of talking about something that had already happened? Besides, there were several far more important matters to discuss. 
"How badly does it smell though? I can't believe Bryce had the ability to ward you off. No wonder you never come over when he's around." 
'What is wrong with this person? Why is he talking about all these unimportant details?' 
"Have Sara ever talked to you about her disappearance before?" 
"Are we talking about this again? What nonsense are you trying to say?"
"No, you have to listen to me properly. Has she ever talked about her disappearance before?" 
"Look, Your Majesty." It was obvious the way he emphasised the word Your Majesty with mockery. 
But too bad on Harith, Lucas was getting used to his child's play jeering. 
"All I hear is just a repeat of your question. No matter how many times you repeat the exact sentence, word by word, it does not mean I would mean instantly get you."
The blonde headed man breathed out in frustration. 
"That's why I said, LISTEN. to. me. PROPERLY. Did you or did you not ever hear her talk about her –?"
"Disappearance. You're still repeating the exact word! I swear a broken record would sound much nicer than this!" 
He clenched his hands into fists. He gritted his teeth in annoyance. His body trembled in anger, and he racked his brain to find ways to explain further. 
But there was no other way to describe it! She had never described to him precisely what she saw on the other side of the world. She had never known the exact location to enter the so-called portal. From the way she shared her stories, he knew she had only stumbled across it. How else was he to bring this matter? 
"I am trying my best right now to find her. But she's not here at the moment. She's –"
"If she's here, we wouldn't have to find her, would we, Mr Smartypants?" interjected the ruffled black hair. 
"Oh dear me! Why is it sooo hard to talk to you?! Why are you not thinking properly? What's with the sarcastic remarks???? Is that going to help in finding Sara?" 
"Who said I'm searching for her? I –" 
Lucas never gets to hear the end of Harith's sentence. 
The shoulder of the soft blonde-haired man vibrated with anger. His breathing had quickened. Every little energy he had, had multiplied and without him realising, his clenched fist had gathered all of its energy to swing it as hard as it could.
It felt good when his punch landed triumphantly on the annoying brat's face. All the build-up sadness, all the pent-up anger and frustration was released in one strong blow. 
Harith staggered sideways as he wiped the dark coloured bodily fluid from his mouth and held the dining chair for support. 
"I need her back home! I don't care if I'm the unwanted for her. All I know is that she is my everything! Right now, I don't care whether she hates me or not. I only wanted to know that she's safe! How am I to know if she's alive and well if she's not here?!" 
"I can't believe for someone who claimed to be her brother, could not even care less of her flight. She's on the missing list for goodness sake! Are you not worried people might cut her up and throw her anywhere?" 
"Then you should better check with your own people for that," muttered Harith.
His voice was faint but it was still audible. 
"It's not OUR kind. That's why I've been trying to tell you! It's not our kind. Not the humans, not the vampires! It's something else!!" 
"What's your point exactly? That you'll die hard defending your Purists rubbish?" 
"Uuuurgh!!! Why is it so hard to get through that thick skull of yours???" 
"Maybe you failed in the explaining department?" 
"Can't you at least have the decency to remember if there was a time where she goes missing for a few hours?" 
He saw the blank stare Harith was giving him. It looked as though he had enough with all the foolishness. 
"You honestly call that missing? Just because she is not in front of your eyes, THAT is what you call missing? Can't you see that she had to go out somewhere? Like work?"
It dawned on him then that they were not on the same page. He thought he had explained properly. He thought that brat would get it. Turned out he was completely, utterly clueless! 
Not just about clarifying the situation but he also did not seem to know about Sara going missing. 
For the first time since she ran away, he smirked. One that was out of joy. 
"For someone who knew her at a shorter duration compared to you, I guess she trusted me more."
Gladness filled his heart. She had proven that before all this revelation, he had already won her over. That she genuinely put her trust on him. That nobody but him knew. 
"What do you mean?" 
He contemplated whether he wanted to enjoy the moment for himself. Would it best to try to explain it? Or would that be a waste of his time? 
Even so, he had to give it a try. 
No matter how ridiculous. 
No matter how absurd. 
He had to give his all. Because Sara's life was at stake. And that's all that matters for now. 
"Because Sara had crossed an unseen door. She disappeared from this realm, only to reappear a few hours later." 
"Nope, does not make any sense to me..." 
"I strongly believe that the time she took to come back vary from time to time. There was a time she did not come back for days. Funny thing was, she walked towards the back garden of this very hall." 
"I still can't understand you." 
Lucas hastily retreated to the end corner of the kitchen area when he smelled another whiff of strong and disgusting sewage stench. 
He looked at the bespectacled man who remained in his room but his bedroom door opened ajar. 
"Actually... Ehem... If you don't mind me interrupting and eavesdropping. There was a time that she did go missing." 
Both heads turned ever so quickly, shocked that this piece of information was shared by the most ignorant person in the room. The one who always closed one eye. 
"When?" asked Harith with a tilted head and his brows furrowed, creating lines on his forehead. 
"It was right after the Blood Red Party. Remember how her colleagues came to check on her? If I am not mistaken she was missing for... Was it five days?" 
"Three." Harith's mumbled out, only apprehending the situation. 
Lucas was glad he came despite the malodour! Lucas was happy the meeting came to fruition! He would at least obtained some valuable information!!
It was the very day that Sara disappeared without moving an inch. 
It was the very day that Sara vanished into thin air right in front of his eyes. 
'So it took her three days to come back then...' 
"What happened then? Did she explain?" 
"My memories kind of hazy. I remember something about some enchanting forest." 
"Oh, that one?? I thought she said she followed a strange man to the forest and slept there for three days?" 
"I'm not sure if she followed someone. Did she say that?" 
Lucas listened intently at the conversation, trying to obtain as much information of the other realm as he could. 
"So what happened in the forest?" 
"We did not get to hear much of it apart from sleeping, to be honest. Because this man here could not control his temper and gone ballistic on her." 
"Why?" 
"What do you mean why?? You'll be angry too if you heard her. She followed a stranger to a forest, woke up only to fall asleep again!" 
"Why did she sleep?" 
"You're asking me???? How was I supposed to know!" 
"Did she describe how the man looked like?" 
Bryce shook his head. "Didn't have the chance to, I guess." 
Lucas felt like slapping his face with the wall at their failure. It was such crucial information. The only thing he could pick up from this conversation was the common factor - garden and forest. 
If only he could have his description, perhaps there must be something that Sara had said before. 
"Oh wait... There was a time that Sara disappeared once for a few days. Someone came over to bring her –" 
How could he forget! There was another witness! Someone that had seen the person that led to her disappearance! 
"Where's the other flatmate?" he asked, glancing around as though the third flatmate would pop out. 
"Who? You mean Coraline?"
