Alright, so I've decided. After reviewing a week of statistics I have finally confirmed that the series here won't be able to catch up to the others, neither the old or the new releases being pumped out in mass. It has missed the best time. Maybe it could if I were to keep posting, but that will only continue to have a negative impact on the supporting income it makes on Amazon and P-a-t-r-e-o-n.
I have noticed a sharp decrease in its sales after posting for free, even many of these chapters are being copied on unofficial sites without my consent. When I spoke with a Webnovel Executive they had told me it would be hard to get a contract with this series again since the major following had died, I tried but I guess this is it. 
I will try with a different series at a different time, but for now, I will leave only these chapters which I've posted to warm appetites of the new readers. 
Maybe, once the entire series if finished on P A T R E O N and Amazon. I will post everything here for a short period of time. Also, if you would like tom continue reading series will be able to read it on P-a-t-r-e-o-n for only $1 per month, each book will be 3.99 on Amazon.

Hello guys and girls, it has been a long year and all of you have followed me without question through it. There have been some ups and downs, but nonetheless, I think that I can finally take this book of hiatus soon. I know a lot of you have wanted daily releases, especially my big fans, so I will naturally do that.

If you're wondering who this is and why it's in your library, I am a former Webnovel original author who, when Webnovel refused to completely delete my novel, decided to fully abandon it.  This particular novel is Evil Star, Grave of Heroes #1.  It's on RoyalRoad, Webnovel, Moonquill, and Wattpad.  I am Andrew Reise, author of Luxury Cafe Owner (Now on Amazon, iBooks, Google Play, and other platforms) and Dungeon Ecology (currently on RoyalRoad and Moonquill, coming here and elsewhere soon before eventually leaving to Amazon).  Since Webnovel isn't taking down this novel despite my former requests, I figured I'd just go ahead and start posting so that some more people can read it.
That being said, I won't be accepting a Webnovel contract (not that I'll likely ever get offered one).  Meaning chapters, on here, will always be free until I finish the book.  That's because from what I've seen and heard about the contract, it seems pretty bad.  But since I've never received one personally, take my opinion with a grain of salt.  Maybe it's just the rebel in me.  I'll be releasing "two" chapters today, and another tomorrow.  Following that, I'll be doing weekly releases every Sunday. 
For those wondering why I specifically mentioned that chapters on here will be free, here's why: I have a pretty good stock of chapters that I'll be updating to P atreon (the space is because they bleep the word).  If you want to read ahead that'll be the place to do it (you'll find a link below).  Advance chapters will require you to become a patron (aka spend some money so that I can eat).  Eventually, when I finish the novel, I'll remove the content from here except for the first few chapters and publish to Amazon.  But until then, you'll be able to read a chapter here for free every week (or as often as I can manage releases once we catch up to my current stock of chapters).  And if you follow along from beginning to end you'll be able to read the entire novel for free.  So there you go.  Hope you guys enjoy the story. Hey everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful day. The news I'm delivering may not come across as good for many, but I have to be up front and let everyone what's going on. 

The Anime Trope System web novel versions will remain on hiatus for a little longer due to a few factors.

--Sadly, I have to state the first one: the Amazon algorithm. You can actually find posts about it in many facebook groups such as Harem Lit, Gamelit Society, LitRPG Books. I may post about it in the Team Stone's facebook group. Basically, the highest review count I've got is 30 reviews for volume 1. Putting that into perspective: I've got about 1.1k followers (1.1million views) on Royal road, 7.1k on Web novel (with 3 million + views as it claims)...but like no Amazon reviews XD. --As a result, the algorithm is more likely to show and recommend other books (Including their search engines, googles, Kindle Unlimited, etc.) 

While none of it is anyone's problem but mine XD, this still hurts a lot financially. Realistically, remaining full time author may not possible, let's be real. November's looking grave.

 

-The first pause was me simply taking a short break. I pretty much wrote ATS for a year straight, this one was mandatory. [Even the ******* chapter releases have slowed to weekly (which will probably get back to normal soon, if not, today or tomorrow.]

I did research and took a long hard look at what I wanted to do with my life.

In the USA you are no longer covered by your family's insurance at 26, I'm 22, so I am on a time table.

I don't want to work under someone which is one of the reason I sought self employment and writing so I could make enough money before I'm 26 and move out of my family's house before 25.

However I ran the numbers after doing research and looking at current trends, it does not look good.

It's too high risk with my current route.

I want to write, and I want to program so I can build worlds/game worlds.

I've always loved telling stories, and I want to write, but I know if I don't learn programming now I won't ever really take the time to learn.

What little I accomplished while learning the little programming I did was the most satisfaction I've ever felt I think.

I don't want to be unable to build game worlds with programming on my own.

I want to be able to learn how to program so I can do that.

Getting a part time job while pursuing writing long term in order to support myself is not something I'm willing to do.

However I am willing to do so in order to pursue programming long term.

I'm willing to do what I need in order to learn programming so I can build worlds/game worlds.

I then asked myself, at the end of my life will it have been worth it to pursue writing and not programming?

The answer is no.

I want to program and make games.

Hence from now I will only write when I have the time and energy to do so.

The schedule going forward is going to be irregular, and I don't know when I'll have the time for the next chapter.

We had stayed in Chopper's office for a few days and we were now mostly healed. He gave us the thumbs up to move and carry on with our usual lives. 

Though that didn't apply to me. I would have to become accustomed to my new life, in which Luffy is my captain. Ohh that sounded nice. Luffy is my captain now. We are going to Fishman Island tomorrow.

I hear the door open, and I turn to meet whoever has entered. It was Luffy. He seems startled when he sees me, but he slowly calms down.

He got an innocent childlike expression.

"Oh... Uhhm... It's you..."

I waited. He seemed nervous.

"Please don't tell Sanji. I just got hungry and came for a snack. He'll kill me if he finds out."

About a minute later, he returns with a few fruit. Doesn't he prefer meat?

"Luffy, why did you get fruit? Don't you prefer meat?"

"Yeah but I don't know how to cook and I can't eat it raw. And I can't get any booze because Zoro will chop me in half. So I gotta take these."

That won't work. My beloved wants to eat meat but can't have it? Preposterous! He can have whatever he wants.

"Nonsense. I'll cook for you."

His face lights up. His eyes shine like stars.

I smile. I let him keep the fruit, they could hold him over until I was done.

I take a few pieces of meat out and begin to cook. It would only take about 20 minutes. Robin walks in halfway through.

"Oh I apologise. Am I interrupting you guys?" She apologizes formally.

"*Inhale* O-" I start.

"No its fine take a seat." Luffy says. 

She giggles and complies.

The desperate look returns to his face.

"Robinnnnn. Please don't tell Sanji that I was here."

"You have my word, Captain"

He smiles again. 

"You guys are awesome." He cheers. 

Eventually, I finish cooking and I serve Luffy. After giving him his plate, I pour him a cup of sake and put the bottle back in it's place. I turn to walk to my chair.

"WOAAHHH This is great. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you, let me know."

"Make me your queen" I say in a not so serious tone while fake fainting.

"Uhh ok. What's a queen do?" He asks.

"The queen is the wife of the King. She is beside him in everything that he does and they rule together. Every king has a queen,"Robin injects.

"Oh okay... Sure" he says.

I look up.

"Wait. What?"

"Sure."

"Don't you usually say no when I ask you to marry me?"

"Yeah but you're a part of the crew now, so a marriage would be a lot easier than if we were separated. And besides, Robin said that every king has a queen. I'm gonna be king of the pirates so I need a queen." He reasons. 

I lose control of my limbs and go limp. I begin to fall. He stretches his arm and catches me before I can fall. Robin giggles.

Luffy's Pov:

I sit Hancock in her chair, and I look back up to Robin.

"Hey Robin. I got a question." I announce.

"Ask away, captain."

"Why did you come in here originally?"

"Oh to check on the Pirate Empress. She let me know that she would be staying in the kitchen until she wanted to go to bed. Its getting pretty late so I wanted to check on her." 

That made sense.

"but it seems that she's doing more than okay." She says with a smirk.

I don't even ask at this point. Those faces they make are like some sort of secret code that I don't even want to learn anymore.

I look over to Hancock. It seems that she's still counting sheep. 

"Okay guys. We got a big day ahead of us tomorrow. I'm gonna go get some sleep. You guys do whatever you gotta do." I say.

"Goodnight, Luffy." Robin says.

"Luffy. Queen. Wife. Marriage." Hancock said, looking like she was hypnotized. 

I chuckle and head back to bed. I can't wait for tomorrow.

His back hunches over and his breathing is wild, all of it coming from his mouth and not his nose like it should in proper form. "Who?"

My phone vibrates again, but this time I refuse to check. No matter where I run, my past always follows. Eventually I have to turn around and deal with it, but it isn't in the books for this week.

"When you change your mind about putting him in his place, I'll be glad to help."

I grin as we reach my driveway and begin my final stretches. "Thanks, I may take you up on your offer one day." With a quick flick of my wrist, I check my heart beat and use the mailbox to prop myself up again.

"How are you feeling?" I ask Crispin who pants beside me slower than he had the rest of the run.

He stands up, arching his back like it hurts, and puts a hand on his hip. "It was okay. I'll head home and take a shower." He points toward his house like it's possible I'd forgotten where he lived.

For a second I'm disappointed he doesn't offer to come in, but I smell and sweat lines my back even though I waited until late evening. Crispin inches close and places a quick kiss on my cheek before leaving me on the sidewalk with my skin tingling.

"I'll talk to you later?" I call out when he reaches the middle of the road.

Crispin turns, walking to his house backward and smiles. "Absolutely."

I watch him walk away toward his garage, his steps off kilter. Harder than normal yet slow as if he's separating his legs, but the material of his jeans hides it. Regardless of his military training, I'm thinking jogging in them may not have been his best idea. But I'm glad he stuck it out because telling him the rest of the situation between Ben and me lifted even more of the weight from my shoulders, even if that's selfish of me.

Possibly in time, I'll be free enough there'll be no secrets between the two of us.

"Okay, babe, I have my conference call in five. I need to prep. I'll message you later?" Harley asks, as she chews on a pencil over my video monitor.

As both work-from-homers, we share many random check-ins during the day. Brief messages or videos while we get things done. It helps meet my people socialization requirements. I don't require a ton. At times even buying groceries is too much.

"Sure, I need to check my email and then take a bunch of pictures for Instagram this month. I'll be around."

Life in the city is freaking expensive, so I had a part-time job in a fitness store. It helped me pay for things the blog didn't cover, like fancy meals out or an extra pair of running shoes. Pelican Bay, even though it's a tourist town, is significantly cheaper. Their idea of a sushi roll is a full lobster they pulled out of the ocean that morning. And the closest shoe store is Amazon.

Since moving, my blog has covered all my expenses and helped pad my bank account. Not having rent helps too. At my brother's I'm only covering food and the basic utilities. The reason I'm paying those is because I forced my brother to let me. I couldn't live here totally free.

There's enough time in my day I've considered searching for a part-time job downtown. It would help fill the empty hours I have with something more than taking pictures of my running shoe collection with different props.

Believe it or not, the task is not half as exciting as it sounds, and considering it doesn't sound exciting at all should be a clue.

The first few emails waiting for me are absolute junk, as expected. Every running gear company in the world is having a weekend sale, but I have enough workout gear and socks to last me a lifetime. My monthly surprise gift from one of my Eco-living subscriptions will ship soon, but considering the email doesn't have actual tracking numbers, I delete it, ready to wait for the good one.

There are five emails from Amazon reminding me about new releases from authors I follow and a sale flyer packed with books from people like Patterson and Stephen King.

Then waiting for me one-third down the page, so my eyes didn't immediately snap to it as soon as I opened my email, sits the subject line I've been waiting to read.

Alright, boy-ohs and girlies, I've tried my best, I really have, but writing is way harder than I could have ever imagined. I'm at 216 chapter, 218 if you count *******, and about 90-95% of the story has been written without much consideration for outlining. A while ago, I started a wiki for the novel to try to keep track of everything and only now am I starting to understand the magnitude of the mistakes I've made writing up to this point.

Anyway, the announcement this time is to let you know that my writing pace hasn't simply slowed. I'm just taking the majority of my time chronicling everything that's happened and will happen and thinking up solutions to the problems that I've detected in the logic of the story; or plotholes. I'll probably take a while and until I'm confident in where the story will head, I'll continue putting out a depressingly low number of chapters every week.

It feels wrong to not say anything and even worse keeping my ******* collecting despite the obvious downgrade to my writing speed. So, despite my obvious bias in wanting to keep Patreons, I'd caution everyone supporting me to only continue doing so if you're fine with the current situation. Webnovel, Royalroad and my ******* all keep publishing dates on the chapters I release, so you can keep track of my writing speed by looking there; until you feel it's worth it, reconsider wasting your time or money during these unstable times. I probably should have made this announcement sooner, considering the downgrade to my writing speed has been around for a month's worth of time, so I apologize.

I'll be putting out chapters when I can, but the majority of my focus right now is revisiting already published chapters, touching them up and documenting whatever I can in the novel's wiki page. Anyone wondering where I'm at can check the wiki page and even contribute if they're bored enough. That is all for now~

UPDATE (December 29th, 2019)
Alright, I'm about to get really real and admit to being a really shitty author these last three to four months. Truth be told, I really did want to take time to update the wiki and figure out how to handle what I thought were this novel's biggest failings in plot holes. However, to do that and find details that might have only been mentioned in passing, I had to eventually turn to rereading entire chapters.

Guys... I'm being as sincere as I possibly can right now. I have no fucking clue how I've developed a following after rereading the first couple chapters. I understand that authors can grow a lot after a year, but it hasn't even been that long and I believe the first hundred chapters are Trash with a capital T. It's borderline unreadable (upon proofreading this tirade, this might be a mild exaggeration, but it is true to my thoughts nonetheless) and the fact that I have nearly 4,000 followers after combining the collections on Webnovel with those following on RoyalRoad is incomprehensible to me. There are still even 19 people supporting me on ******* when I haven't released squat in nearly two months!

I've tried to ignore this. I've tried to work on other books. Hell I've even messed around with fanfiction, hoping to one day wake up and see everyone gone. Like the book had never existed. But like I said, there are still 4,000 people waiting for releases. More joining by the day and people still supporting the novel with spirits stones. Even 19 who value two chapters being at least a dollar.

Every time I think I'm ready to move on, ready to completely shut down the novel to start a new one, I think about those people and realize, "I'm a fucking bitch. Just finish the fucking novel, idiot." The passing of time has only made the feeling worse, so I guess this is a message consigning myself to completing this book, by any means necessary. I won't be able to focus on another story otherwise, so this update is more for me than for my audience.

That being said, the reason I felt inclined to give up on the novel in the first place was because of how terrible I found my writing from a nearly a year ago. So, I want to stress that I'm not going chuck a bunch of shit together to finish the story. Rather, I'm going to go back and rewrite things as I continue to catalogue things on the wiki.

Last couple things I want to quickly mention:

- I haven't really used any of the money I've made on ******* so I want to commission a legit book cover. Ditch that shit I made with my lacking Photoshop Skills...

-More on the money thing, after I finish rewriting the novel — it'll mostly be editing details that make the book seem less like it was written by an amateur, so the story progression won't at all change — I plan on also hiring people to format Book 1 and eventually Book 2 into legit e-reader and paperback formats. I know, I know...

"Greedy author, have you no shame?" 

Honestly, I want to follow pirate aba's style of keeping everything free, and I will. I'm not going to enter a contract with Webnovel or paywall chapters through kindle. However, for the people who for whatever reason want to have a kindle or physical copy of this (current dumpster fire of a) novel, I want it to at least be possible. There's also the benefit of gaining new readers through Amazon this way which is always a plus. 

Like the G.O.A.T. pirate aba — check out her (I think it's a her) book The Wandering Inn — I'll keep all the chapters on Webnovel and Royalroad free. Though the ******* thing will still be in effect at least until I finish the series or whatever.

-Since I'm rewriting the novel for the most part, I'll make more announcements as I continue updating the novel; meaning adding on to the story (Chapter 219, 220, etc...)

Unless it becomes too annoying and people request against it, I'll be adding "Revised" to Chapters that have been, well... revised.

-I'm going to be having some polls on RoyalRoad on a couple important things as I start getting back into the grind of updating this novel.

Namely: Should I change the name of the novel? If so, to what? What would you guys like the book cover to look like? Should I change the name of the Books/Arcs?
