After that, Ty-chan traveled through the Grand Tabrynth in order to go make use of the Master Control Unit.
When Ty-chan got to the Grand Tabrynth, he assimilated with the Crystal Tree and its branches -- known as the Crystal Nexus -- and traveled through the network to reach the Testament Palace, where the Master Control hub was.
"Grand Tabrynth :: Formation! Let Your Master, Tymon, Into The Cockpit Of Master Control!"
Upon Command, the entire Testament Palace opened up for the young master Ty-chan to grant his every whim. Being the young version of Tymon still meant having control over the Veritas as if he were his normal age. "ACCESS :: GRANTED" the technological citadel replied, digital cubes and streams sifting apart at their seams for the young one.
"Shall I Set Up Auto-Pilot Or Will You Be Manually Operating The Veritas?"
Testament Palace was a marvel to behold both outside and in. On its surface, it resembled a citadel with a fountain outpouring pure digital energy. The citadel seemed chic and highly advanced, and resting on a platform where the Crystal Nexus converged. The inside was like polished castle, bearing columns of data and streams of data underneath the floor.
"Manual Control," Ty-chan commanded the Grand Tabrynth, who was master of the Master Control Unit that powered the entire Veritas. "The Other Master Control Units Can Be Operated From The Master Master Control Cockpit, Which Is Here Inside Of The Crystal Pyramid." Ty-chan knew that inserting himself as the Crystal would instantaneously change the way the Veritas functioned, but he would have total control from the 10th Restriction down, since he was the 10th Restriction, himself.
"MASTER CONTROL!!!!" Ty-chan screeched a shrill, blood-curdling cry, "DESTROY!!!!"
Ty-chan's eyes poured with blood as he screeched, the pure malice of his being coming out of his vision when he took on the full control of the Veritas. This same Malice would be like the Insanity that contaminated the Crystal Tree long ago, however it was being controlled by Ty-chan and used as a weapon.
Pumpkinhead was already in place, and soon, so would the rest of the Veritas be in alignment. But first, there required alignment in all of the Restrictions from the 10th down -- starting from Ty-chan in the 10th.
"GRAND TABRYNTH!!!" Ty-chan screamed, "ASSEMBLE!!!!"
From there on, the network that connected the entire Veritas Universe together would begin feeding data throughout the entire Universe, and all of it was from Ty-chan, for Ty-chan.
Basically, the entire Universe was about to rear up and attack another universe.
Master Control :: Dark Messenger
A magnanimous figure bearing eight arms and a cosmic body materialized from the dark matter and dark energy that resided in deep space, forming what looked like a man. There were many celestial bodies that made up the form of this figure, including other stars and planets. In its Eight Arms in bore eight different Omniverses called 'Moons' that it watched over and sustained as the pillars of the Veritas.
The full scape of the Veritas Universe would be absorbed and contained inside of this one being, which hovered in a dimensional void filled with even more energy ready to be cycled through and recycled.
All too suddenly, the hands came into motion, starting with the Eighth. Many different Mudras (Hand Signs) were made by the eight armed cosmic man of universal proportion, and data would stream from all around him where there was no more cosmic energy, and only virtual energy (which was like a greater form of potential and kinetic energy blended together) remained ready for virtually anything universally.
"Finally..." a disembodied, omnipresent voice said, "I Get To Fuck Shit Up..."
There was a man that was contained within the eight-armed man's universal body, whose body was made of crystal and was assimilated with all of the energy of the universe -- The Tyranophant.
"Let Me Just Adjust Myself, Since I'm Being A Ty-chan Right Now..." Though the Tyranophant was indeed Ty-kun, because Ty-chan was in the Master Control cockpit, that Crystal was giving off the past energy of Tymon as a child and thus also made the 7th Restriction Ty-kun a little more childish.
"And My Move Is Called 'Fuck Shit Up.' Totally Putting It In My Move List, Just Like 'Be Upset' And 'Be Sexy' -- Two Of My Favorite Signature Techniques." The Tyranophant was thinking of using 'Be Sexy' sometime soon, but knew it wasn't the time for that.
The man of crystal, who was God of the Planet Veritas, and also the Veritas Dimension Gatekeeper, would move freely throughout the pure energetic being that was the Eighth Restriction form with the eight arms holding up the eight moons in its hands. They were one and the same, except one was an exterior form whilst the other was interior.
On the interior of the Veritas, where the Tyranophant ruled over all things (unlike the exterior of the Veritas, where the higher Restrictions ruled), he would be able to draw all of the universal energy that was gathered to the Eighth Restriction for himself, charging one of his moons with it -- the 7th Moon.
"LAWLESS MOON," The Tyranophant cried, "FUCK SHIT UP!!!!!!!!"
Without warning, energy was released from the 7th Moon -- also known as the 'Lawless Land', where anything goes -- in a chaotic array. It was violent and explosive, bearing no limits and having virtually infinite power.
The Seventh Arm was extended outward toward a different universe, releasing all of this explosive infinite energy as a series of planets blowing up over and over and over and over again, along with exploding stars and other celestial entities... over and over and over and over again. The power never drained and never ceased, for the Virtual Energy that was being fed to the Eighth Restriction by the Ninth Restriction gave the Seventh Restriction unlimited power and pretty much omnipotence in literally every way, just because Virtual Energy could be virtually anything at anytime as necessary.
Galaxies, Worlds, Realms, Stars, Planets, Moons, Cosmoses and Universes were all blown to smithereens in a direct line of fire from the Seventh Hand outward, all of the power shooting from the Seventh Moon.
It literally fucked shit up on a universal scale.
"BYAAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! HELL YEAH!!! FUCK SHIT UP!!!"
And, again, energy was released from the 7th Moon that would explode profusely and repetitiously infinitely outward in one direction, leaving literally Absolute Zero in its wake -- no energy, no potential, no nothing.
All of the energy that was not destroyed was taken into the Veritas and recycled through the Eighth Restriction.
When all of the energy was destroyed, the 6th Restriction head -- Teus, the Crystal Angel -- would appear in the image of the Tyranophant, except with angelic wings instead of no wings at all. The Crystal Angel wore beautiful garments that were laced with threads that shimmered like starlight and were translucent like light, yet still covering his form as to not expose his nakedness underneath his robes.
"I Suppose It Is Time..." said he, extending his wings, before another set of wings extended outward from his back, and then another, and one more set. "Crystal Aurora..." Teus said softly, his voice echoing out through the emptiness of the space that was recently destroyed, "... Fill!"
Suddenly, each of the wings on Teus' back would glow, and more wings would sprout from his wrists, head and ankles, all aglow in the same fashion. He would move the 6th Moon into the Void of Absolute Zero, where there was literally nothing left of anything and pour a great deal of pure celestial energy into the 6th Moon, both purifying it and also allowing it to amplify his power greatly. The 6th Moon of Chaos would spew out energy in a similar fashion to the Lawless Moon, however it was made to fill in the gap immediately rather than destroy anything else.
This would be done until the 6th Moon was drained of all of its energy, which, as stated before, could be infinite as long as the Eighth Restriction was active. The recycled energy would be poured into the recreation of this new energy for the Absolute Zero void and more of the Veritas Universe would extend from the Void, being pure light.
It would only fill to the brim of however much was destroyed, and Teus would use no more power than that.
After recreating everything and giving it energy, that energy needed to be sustained and maintained as alternate Realities, which were simulations of what would occur in other Realms -- something like Netherworlds. The 5th Restriction was meant for doing this and as such, the Angel King, Ophiuchus, would descend from on high from the 6th Restriction and begin to shape Reality to his will and then utilize his 9th Restriction Virtual Reality Chamber -- the Helelalchrum.
"Absolution; Absolute Reality!" He cried out, taking all of the energy that was in the midst of the cosmos and shaped various Realities, which looked like galaxies and universes and the like, until omniverses were made from all of the Realities being littered everywhere and having their own individual outcome.
Some would burn out and others would thrive, but the point was to bring Law and Order and Stability and Harmony to the free-flowing energy before it burned itself out and keep it perpetually in motion on levels that were of a smaller scale.
The Fifth Arm would raise up to release the 5th Moon, which was the Simulator for the Law, and exacted the Law upon the Alternate Realities, creating fuel for the Helelalchrum, and thus giving the Master Control something to feed on.
Ophiuchus would maintain his Absolute Reality in the Alternate Reality, and throughout any of the Realities that he creates on the omniversal scale using all of that energy, reigning as the star of stars -- the Angel King.
All of the energies that were created from the generation of each 'Alternate Reality' would become 'Naturia' for Pumpkinhead to control.
Pumpkinhead reproduced quickly using 'Pumpkin Seeds' and planting them in the 'Alternate Reality' realms.
Each 'Pumpkin Seed' would become a 'Pumpkin Head' for Pumpkinhead, ready to do the will of Pumpkinhead.
Wearing the 'Pumpkin Head' and sustaining Pumpkinhead, itself, was Tomon, 'The Forbidden One'. He is what made sure that Pumpkinhead existed by using the body of Tomon Nomon to harbor the Spirit of Tear Lacrimoso and the Gene of Khrona Tensei in him, allowing him to 'Hyper Replicate' everywhere as zombified copies of himself in each of the 'Alternate Reality' Worlds, thus giving him infinite life.
He lived on as an 'Immortal' body for both Tear and Pumpkinhead to link through whenever he should so don the 'Pumpkin Head'.
There was at least one 'Tomon' that was wearing the 'Pumpkin Head' at a time in each 'Alternate Reality', so it meant that it was the 'Forbidden' Tomon at all times.
The 'Forbidden' Tomon would always be sustaining Pumpkinhead and Tear at the same time.
Tomon, as a Vessel, was able to intake Tear as a Soul Wavelength and harbor Tear's Soul as Tomon's Spirit.
All of the Tomons that were merely empt vessels could sustain the Soul Energy of Tear from their corresponding 'Core's.
Each 'Core' that Tear claimed, his Soul Wavelength would move throughout all of the Soulless Tomon 'Vessel' copies and channel the power of the 'Forbidden' Tomon -- the one bearing the 'Pumpkin Head' -- in order to all become like Tear Lacrimoso, himself.
Thus, an army of Tear Lacrimoso Constructs running around scouring each 'Alternate Reality', much like the 'Servicemen' Mechanica. They would be like the 'Servicemen' and would also be known as 'Servicemen,' being copies of Tear and Tomon.
Tear would be able to change into Tomon at any given time in any different shape or form.
Because 'Tear Lacrimoso' was part of the 'Tabrynth System' and was a 'Tensei' through the 'Tabrynth' System, Tabrynth could utilize any 'Vessel' of 'Tear Lacrimoso' at any given 'Period' to commandeer for itself.
Tabrynth would choose a Tear to Crystallize into another Black Diamond Crystal and become 'Tabrynth'.
Tabrynth would then go through the 'Alternate Reality' system with 'Servicemen' and 'Constructs'.
Once 'Installed', the Tabrynth System would run on its own through the 'Algorithm' of each 'Individual' and 'Independent' 'Alternate Reality' that was created.

I stretched my body out after waking up inside the Reality Verse. That was quite hard but fun though, and I can feel that my body is getting stronger as time passes by. I have not really tried to much on working out but my arms are starting to form muscles unlike when I have not started playing Alternate World. Just like in the past timeline, playing this game is equivalent to going to gym.

I continue stretching my body before checking if my abilities have grown. Although I am not so diligent in practicing this abilities, I still managed to grow this much. My power and mana flow is regularly flowing. Soon enough, I will be able to use Sudden Strength again in no time, unlike when I have a late foundation with my body.

After checking, I have to take a bath, I reek of sweat and taking a bath helps me cool down a bit. After that, I wear my uniform and opens the door to my room. The smell of cooking that Dolly...ahem... Riko is making wafted around the house. From what she is cooking, I can really say that this smell is actually pretty awesome.

When I arrived in the kitchen area, I was surprised to see Suhei and Pandora together. It was rare to see Suhei without being too early at work.

"Oh, hey there Suhei, good morning. Its rare for you to be here," I said to Suhei as I pull one of the chairs and sit down next to Pandora.

"Morning Manato, yeah. I had a one week vacation given to my boss since I was so hardworking and a deal is properly done by me so he was gracious enough to give me a vacation. Now, I can take care of Pandora more. So, how is school?"

"Just fine, not so boring and not so fun, just neutral," I said nonchalantly.

"Breakfast is ready!" Riko brought the food she made. It was actually fried rice and fried chicken marinated in pepper sauce. All are oily foods but they smell really good and my empty stomach began its daily grumble.

We happily ate the food that Riko made. Aside from the fact that Riko is good in making food, she is also quite talented and rich. She will be a good wife in the future and I think I am getting a hint of someone else as his husband in the future once I managed to avert her tragedy.

After breakfast, we decided to go. No one are left at home since Suhei and Pandora are going somewhere else. Riko and I decided to hurry at school to avoid being late. On the way, the big screens in buildings are showing the advertisements of the Reality Verse and the Alternate World's expansion. Also, the appearance of the internet cafes for the public Reality Verse uses are now open too for those people who can't afford buying the capsule. I am quite sure that after the event of the Expansion in Sandurk, the whole game would be crowded with players.

"Wow, the Reality Verse is no longer costly unlike when it first appeared," Riko commented as she saw the ads.

"Of course, if the Reality Verse is being hard to buy for so long, no people will buy and the Alternate World will go stagnant instead. This is just called business tactics. Other powerful individuals will invest in the game soon so all of the losses they have during this time of promotion will be gained again but by many folds," I said.

"Hmm, you know a lot huh?"

"Of course, the game is not only a game for me, this is serious business and I can't afford to just lose on this. That is why I am working hard," I shook my head.

"How come you are so high leveled in the game? Versatile classes might be strong but their leveling speed are incredibly slow, how come you are so high leveled now?" Riko asked. She was curious, but its not a secret anymore.

"Indeed, Versatile class is obviously the slowest leveling class but its not really the case. Versatile Classes are designed to tackle bosses and other monsters alone that players that are equivalent to the Versatile's skill trees needed groups to take down. It was pretty obvious so in the very beginning, I killed monsters higher than my level. Since the game clearly had the stats only for design and mostly uses the real life power of the user, I made use of it."

"Real life power?" Riko was clearly confused.

"Your main abilities in real life, the better your body in real life, the better you do in the game. Also, do you notice that your body is much stronger since you started playing Alternate World?"

"Ah? Now that you mention it..." Riko clenches her fist and opens it again, "I feel stronger indeed!"

We talked for a while until we arrived on the street where Janus is waiting. His grinning face is clearly showing even though we are still far from him.

"Heya guys!" Janus waved at us.

"Oh, its just Janus..." Riko has a grim look on her face.

"Come on, Riko, don't you miss me? Its been a day since we met! Come on, give some love!~" Janus then pouted and approach Riko like he was kissing.

With a strong punch in the stomach, Janus' grinning face turned grim but he is smiling.

"OW~ Your punches... are getting stronger... as time pass by..." Janus grinned. I wonder how Janus can endure that punch. He can still grin like that with pain in his face.

As we are almost reaching the school, I saw two familiar faces that I hated the most. Those guys are the targets of my revenge in this timeline for they are the people who owes me a lot. Kazuki Sakatsushi and Akari Takazuchi. Oh yeah, I just remembered that Kazuki will be entering the game this week. Once I finish the game, I will deal with this guy. It is his fault. I can't stop my revenge!

Manato Tsukasa is one of the top tier players of the game, Alternate World. However, before he managed to reach the top, he originated from the bottom and experienced different sorts of humiliation and downsides. Instead of being down and depressed, he used those events as motivation to rise up, resulting in becoming one of the strongest Magic Knight player. Also, due to the game, he found the love of his life. When he was about to get married to the woman he is engaged with, he discovered that he was one of the few targets to be assassinated and she was tasked to do so. Without knowing who did it, he furiously escape.

After desperately escaping death, he encountered a similar person in the alley, bloodied and out of breath. Manato recognized this person to be the creator of the game, Alternate World. The creator then handed him out an item that will return him to his past self, hoping that he will be the one who can change their destiny. He was also entrusted to travel back in time with a peculiar data that can only be accessed back in the past since he is already dying. Desperate to survive, he grabbed the item and decided to return.

He woke up once again, in his 17-year-old body where the game is still launching. In his hands, is the weapon entrusted by the creator that has been transported with him? With his photographic memory and the data in his past, he won't just go down easily now that he had returned to the past. Instead of choosing the Magic Knight class, he instead choose the class that most players have to struggle with using. However, after doing a few things different from the past timeline, he found out that the past is now rewritten slowly as he messed up the events that should unfold, making a new future. Questions and mysteries slowly arises as he pieced together everything he knew. And what is the secret behind the game? Is it really a game or something more?

1: When Things Go Wrong (May 24, 2003 to May 27, 2003)


Fudge was a complete moron, a raving mad lunatic. It was utterly insane of him to bring the magical mirror to Hogwarts before getting the obviously enchanted mirror passed for inspection against dangerous curses by the Aurors. In one of his idiotic ideas, he had brought the mirror to Hogwarts to find out the secret of its purpose. He was sure Dumbledore could help divulge the knowledge, and the other professors certainly could help.


The real reason was that the only known person that had the ability to speak parseltongue was Harry. It only made logical sense to Fudge's miniscule intelligence that Harry would help to translate the words of the hissing guardian that was entwined with powerful charms around the frame of the mirror. To Fudge, this was a suitable excuse to reveal the mirror's existence to the rest of the world.


Which was a foolish intention if Fudge's suspicions of what the mirror was turned out to be true, that it was an avenue into the future. It was possibly an invaluable tool against Voldemort, and to bring this to the awareness of the Dark Lord was foolhardy. What in the world was Fudge thinking? Yet, he had somehow managed to convince Dumbledore to let Harry examine it and discover the secrets of the mirror. However, he had allowed Dumbledore to believe that the mirror was safe since the Aurors had checked it, just that they hadn't done it thoroughly. Fudge hadn't given them the chance to before taking the mirror away.


Besides, Fudge could be a convincing bastard at times. His arguments were solid. If the mirror could be made to see the future with Voldemort instead of utterly random possibilities, then they'd have the upper hand. Taking in the consideration that the Aurors had checked the mirror, Dumbledore had consented to allow Harry to check the mirror and interpret whatever the hissing snake guardian was saying.


That had been the big mistake. A terrible mistake because as soon as Harry stood in front of the mirror, the mirror had begun to glow with an unmistakable aura that spoke of immense power. The guardian snake had then begun to hiss and those in the room found themselves blocked off when they tried to approach Harry. When the hissing was over, the snake leapt out of the mirror's frame and pulled Harry in.


It was only when Harry had completely disappeared that whatever had been blocking them the potential rescuers was removed, causing them to stumble to the mirror with absolute shock written all over their features. For Dumbledore to be gobsmacked was terrible as it had caused the usual twinkle in his merry blue eyes to dull with the realization that his golden Gryffindor boy was gone.


It was no surprise to anyone there when Dumbledore turned to Fudge and declared in a voice that rang with power, "FUDGE! You did not tell me everything." There was a heavy pause in the air as he continued, "I knew that there was something that you were keeping from me, but I thought that it was not a matter of security as much as I thought it was some secret of the mirror that you knew that only Harry could decipher. Never would I think that the Minister of Magic would not make sure the mirror was safe before asking a student to examine it!"


Dumbledore was furious; he was so angry in fact that he was making perfect sense. It took all the pomp and dignity of his position to keep Fudge rooted where he was and not running for his life. It wasn't that he feared that the Headmaster would end his existence, but the Weasley boy and the Granger girl were looking murderously at him. After all these years of struggling to keep their best friend safe, the Ministry of Magic got rid of the Boy Who Lived with more ease than Voldemort could breathe!


"I think it would be wise for you to leave," McGonagall stated with a calm that relaxed Fudge slightly until he saw the blazing anger in her eyes. The Gryffindor Head of House might be one of the fairest and strictest professors at Hogwarts but she did have a soft spot where Harry Potter was concerned. "There is nothing you can do to help us here anymore and your presence will only remind us of what disaster you have caused."

There is a reason behind every action.


That was what the snake had hissed out in parseltongue before it had leapt from the frame of the mirror and wrapped itself around Harry's waist and dragged him into the mirror. The fall into the mirror seemed to take forever until he slammed into the ground painfully. It took him a while to get his bearings, but when he did he found he was in the same room that he'd been in previously, Dumbledore's private study.


For a moment, the blind panic he felt slowly ebbed away when he saw a familiar figure cloaked in purple with a long white beard that gave him a grandfatherly look. Oh good, Dumbledore was here. Before he could even ask what was going on, the Headmaster caused his terror to rise up again to the heights it'd been previously, "Who in the world are you and where did you come from?"


There was no twinkling glint in his mentor's eyes and what was even worse, a wand was being pointed at him menacingly and a very annoyed phoenix that had just awoken form a nap was staring down at him. It was then that Harry frantically went back to the words that the serpent had hissed at him before he'd been sucked into the mirror. Several keywords stood out to him: folly, fallen, nightmares, ominous, dreadful, and most of all, alternate dimensions. What the fuck had he gotten into?


"Answer me!" Dumbledore exclaimed, his voice not harsh but demanding.


Harry decided that it'd be best to be truthful. "I am Harry Potter," he answered gently and carefully. "The son of James Potter and Lily Evans," he added as an afterthought since there didn't seem to be an response from Dumbledore. "I attend school..."


"You are not Harry Potter," Dumbledore responded sharply, shaking his head vehemently. "You cannot be Harry Potter because Harry Potter died fourteen years ago at the hands of Lord Voldemort with his parents."


"I am!" Harry cried out desperately, moving closer to the older man while trying to convince him of what he was saying was the truth. What seemed odd to him was that Fawkes had stopped staring hard at him, instead the phoenix closed his eyes and went back to the nap that Harry had interrupted. "Look at me! I am the image of my father, James Potter. Everyone says that I look exactly like my father and that I have my mother's eyes!"


"But you died fourteen years ago," the Headmaster replied but there was a thread of uncertainty in his voice. As he took a closer look at the young boy that had appeared to have fallen into his private study out of nowhere, it was uncanny the resemblance he bore to the deceased James Potter. The blazing emerald of his eyes clearly came from his beautiful mother, Lily Evans. Indeed if Harry Potter had survived, this was exactly how he pictured their son to be.


"I did die in this place," Harry murmured in a softly awed voice, "but I didn't die in my world." It made sense now. Everything clicked together. Alternate dimension was an alternate reality, what happened in a different universe coexisting next to his own. Nightmare, nightmare because he'd died here and if he had died... that meant Lord Voldemort had lived. Nightmare indeed! "I don't know what Voldemort did, but he removed me from my universe and placed me here."


From the puzzled expression on Dumbledore's face, Harry quickly explained his theory on what he thought happened. Then he repeated what the snake had hissed at him and as he did, he knew that Voldemort was behind the entire thing because Dumbledore had keenly pointed out the first letter of every word spelled out V-O-L-D-E-M-O-R-T. With a heavy sigh Harry remarked, "I never thought alternative dimensions existed."


"Neither did I," Dumbledore chirped in unnecessarily, doing nothing to cheer up the poor boy displaced from his true home. "So in one dimension, you survived Voldemort's killing curse?" Harry nodded. "Interesting," he remarked, "but how?"


It took a while, but Harry finally was able to explain the shortened version of his life story. How he'd somehow managed to survive the Avada Kedavra Curse, how it'd somehow rebounded off of himself- leaving him a distinctive lightning scar and how it all but killed Voldemort. Then he discussed how he grew up with his only remaining relatives, his mother's muggle sister.


Eventually, he got to how he came to Hogwarts and how the Dark Lord was resurrected in his fourth year... and sometime near the end of his fifth year after numerous Death Eater random attacks, he'd been sent here by Voldemort. It was clear that the random attacks weren't going to kill the Boy Who Lived so it was obvious that the next best option was to send Harry away to another dimension.


"My goodness," Dumbledore remarked when Harry had finished his tale, "that is quite a story. Sadly, the case in this world is not the same as it is in your world. There you were the Boy Who Lived that managed to disable Voldemort when he was at his strongest, but here you were just another one of the long list of casualties."


"What happened then?" asked Harry with solemnity.


Dumbledore sighed and Harry noticed that this Dumbledore had wrinkles not of mirth and jollity but of weariness and toil. This Dumbledore didn't look like he had the positive outlook that was sure that the side of light would be victor in this war of good and evil not like his Dumbledore. "Lord Voldemort was not stopped and the Ministry of Magic crumbled under the well planned onslaught of Death Eaters. There is no public form of resistance, he controls the government."


"But what of the Order?" Harry inquired, knowing that there were many parallels in this world and betting that the Order of the Phoenix was one of them. "What of that?"


"You know of it?" Dumbledore queried in response, a hint of surprise showing. When Harry nodded with serious affirmation, the Headmaster managed to smile vaguely. "It exists," he murmured softly. "It is the only resistance that is left here. France also has a taskforce similar to ours, an underground resistance. The only true power that stands against Voldemort is the Americas. They do what they can to aid us, but even they are more on the defensive. Here, Voldemort has won."


This was his worst nightmare. It was far worse than he'd even imagined. But then if Voldemort had overtaken all of Europe, then why was Albus Dumbledore still residing here as Headmaster of Hogwarts when he was the only wizard that the Dark Lord feared? "If it is that bad, then why are you still here? Why does Voldemort allow you to stay?"


Dumbledore sighed tiredly, the lines that aged his face only becoming more prominent. "He allows me to stay because he does not think I am a threat to him anymore. What resistance I can mount is nearly like a fly buzzing around him, almost nothing. What it is, is merely a mild irritation. And somehow, he has yet to learn of the Order. What little we do keeps some hope left, as little as it is. But it is small enough that Voldemort doesn't pay more than a modicum of attention, focusing instead on taking over the Americas."


A moment of silence passed through the room when Harry raised his head up and glanced at the Headmaster with very concerned eyes. "What am I going to do about returning to my home? What am I going to do until I can go back? What if I can't..." His voice trailed off, the words becoming too painful to say... that he'd never get home again.


"We will try to find a way," Dumbledore said in a steady and sure voice. "Until then, you are a Hogwarts student there and you will be one here. It is good to have a student that I know I can trust." Harry was about to ask how Dumbledore knew that he could be trusted, but the Headmaster answered him before he could inquire, "Fawkes would never resumed sleeping if he did not feel I was in a safe presence, which is why I allowed you to tell me your story."


"I cannot use my name," he remarked.


"Of course not," Dumbledore agreed. "You bear an uncanny resemblance to James Potter, anything similar will arise suspicion. Hmm... a new name is needed. No Evans, no James, and definitely no Harry or Potter. Any similarities will arouse attention. Is there any name that you ever wanted when you were a child? A favorite name that you wished you'd been named?" Harry shrugged, he'd never thought about ever being called anything besides Harry.


"I suppose then I will have to name you then," Dumbledore reflected thoughtfully. "I suppose for a surname we could use Biggerstaff. It sort of alludes to your great presence, then again we don't exactly want that." Again, the Headmaster seemed to lose himself to his thoughts on renaming Harry Potter. "Sebastian Ethan Biggerstaff." The grin that spread over Dumbledore's lips was infectious. "Your initials are S.E.B. Aren't I clever? Seb is S.E.B.!"


Merlin, Harry thought with no more alarm then normal for him concerning Dumbledore's astonishing ability to amuse himself with the oddest of oddities, no matter what he always finds a way to entertain himself. Even in this world, in some of the grimmest of circumstances he was still glad that Dumbledore still had his sense of humor. If he didn't have a reason to smile, then all hope would be erased. After all despite all the wackiness that was Dumbledore, he was still the only wizard that Lord Voldemort had ever feared. And even though the Dark Lord had conquered Europe, Dumbledore still led a resistance against him- no things weren't hopeless yet.

Hours had passed and the only clue they had about Harry Potter's whereabouts were the ancient runes that covered the mirror after whatever spell on the mirror had done its purpose and dissipated. All the professors in the school had examined the mirror for half an hour each and they had no better advice to offer than Dumbledore's initial suggestion that they find the key to the runes that appeared on the mirror.


It was a stroke of brilliant luck that Hermione Granger remembered reading up on something similar to those ancient runes only a fortnight ago, though it was a step in the right direction they still had more steps to take to discover where the mirror had taken the Boy Who Lived. It took days of searching in the Restricted Section of the Library to hunt down the book that coded for the ancient runes. It was with tedious work that both Minerva McGonagall and Severus Snape worked in tandem to translate the message with tedious care along with the assistance of Hermione and Ron.


Meanwhile, the Headmaster was kept busy with hundreds of owls that were sent with inquiries on where Harry Potter had disappeared to. With this he agreed with Cornelius Fudge, that it would not be a good idea to cause the Wizarding World to go into a panic now that their Boy Who Lived had disappeared. It was with great reluctance that Dumbledore granted the Daily Prophet an interview where he stated vaguely that Harry Potter had been taken abroad somewhere to study with colleagues of his.


That didn't stop the rumors that said Harry Potter might be dead, but it did decreased some of the public anxiety. It did nothing to stop their fervent worrying. While it had taken them a long time to translate out the runes, it hadn't taken the professors at Hogwarts long to figure out that whatever spell that had been used to trigger the properties of the mirror had had a dark magic signature that had been keyed to Harry Potter's magical signature.


Once the message on the mirror was finally translated out enough to make sense, everything became much more clearer. There was no doubt that the person behind the dark magic that had pulled Harry Potter into the mirror had to be Lord Voldemort. There was no one else that was strong enough to pull the spell off to target one particular person nor was there anyone that had enough power to activate a mirror that had not been used in over a thousand years.

Working day and night, it had taken them two months to make the runes comprehensible. Now that they'd figured it out, they now knew that they were the ones that had to open the mirror that was locked. And they had found out that wherever Harry had gone, he had to be searching for a way back too or else their efforts were in vain. It didn't help that once they'd had the epiphany that alternate truth was alternate reality, they'd discover that there were thousands of alternate dimensions that were coexisting together at the same time.


However were they suppose to open the mirror to the right reality for Harry?

This is not only a review of Lucia but a breakdown of why this story that you can find through Novelupdates works so well. I'd give this story a 5 star review any day for being so well thought out.

Lucia is the story of a princess who suddenly gains the memory of an alternate future of her whole lifetime at the age of twelve. From that moment onwards, she dreams of having a better future than that tragedy she saw and does a contractual marriage with a Duke named Hugo in return for basically... not being sold off for political reasons.

The premise sounds like it has been done a hundred times before, but only this story is the most well-executed among its type. She doesn't gain these memories for no particular reason, her husband IS NOT madly in love with her from the get-go, and she has an endearing personality that doesn't come off as air-headed or naive.

The last part is what stands out in this story because despite its fairy tale vibes, there is a lot of realism added that makes it not just an erotic romance where the ML (Male Lead) is every woman's wet dream. Even though he kinda is...

The Duke she marries, Hugo, is an unapologetically bloodthirsty individual who kills people on a regular basis, and he does it without even blinking. The only reason Lucia even marries him was because she had little understanding of what marriage is like outside the abusive one she had in that alternate timeline and thought he looked cute.

There's no template main character vibes given from her as she is not from our reality and this is NOT an Isekai. She is an isolated princess who doesn't suddenly know everything because she lived gained future memories, but is flat-out what she is supposed to be: An former princess and abused Duchess who was sent back in time.

Her alternate timeline memories doesn't empower her but gives her a reality check, and although marrying a guy for his face and status sounds typical on paper, to the point even the Duke she marries thought she was shallow individual, it only added to the realism to the story as even a pure-hearted girl would desire things like a normal girl.

It's played as a joke at first, but the 'contractual marriage' actually becomes quite tragic once her husband gets to know her viewpoint and realised that he had taken what happened then too lightly.

As she does not know a marriage where she is given equal human rights, it becomes a reason why she sometimes acted 'dense' towards his feelings even though they were already sleeping together after marriage. It have a specific take on love...

My biggest praise for this story is that, even though it had the elements of an action story with the Duke being a superhuman badass, the story didn't stray from being a 'romance', choosing to be what it was intended to be without deviations.

One of the biggest pitfalls in these kind of stories set in an medieval world with princesses and nobility is adding cosmic retribution to people who do good actions or glorifying every good thing the main characters ever do. This was very refreshing.

Even though the FL (Female Lead) was a kind individual, the novel goes out of its way to show that the astuteness and wit she gained from seeing that alternate timeline is the reason she doesn't get taken advantage of by fellow noblewoman.

All the good things she embodies, strengths as well as weaknesses, are contrasted well with the Hugo., the ML. Even though she doesn't kill people, the weaknesses that come with her bubbly personality aren't taken for granted whatsoever.

It's to the point that if she wasn't changed after learning of her alternate timeline, she would have went through the same things as the version of her in that future (like falling for a conman of a knight who took her money and ran as well as being used by her long lost family members to pay off loans). I almost feel like this kind of novel was what I was waiting for, as it NEVER rewards ignorant kindness.

Even Lucia's personal doctor becomes a good example of that as her pure intentions are taken advantage of without her even knowing. That character seemingly a reflection of what Lucia would have been like without her new memories.

The Duke she married also doesn't get his just desserts at the end of the story, only going through his own Retribution Arc before being able to fight the bloodlust (and regular, animalistic lust) that was passed onto him by his special bloodline.

His character arc goes from a self-centred guy who is only superficially desirable to a man willing to beat down his own arrogance for the sake of his wife. It's a heartwarming transformation since he had always shown that it wasn't anything like those stories where abusers are suddenly changed just because he met the 'right woman'. He had good aspects hidden within his character the more Lucia got to know him, and she only brought them out.

It was the same with him, as the longer they spent together allowed him to gain a better understanding of Lucia and made her a lot grow into a woman who acted like a doll for her husband.

It was thanks to him that she could open up and express herself more over time. Thus, the story had a two-way/give-and-take relationship where he gave her confidence and she gave him understanding over the emotions he couldn't comprehend before. The other characters in the story being relevant enough to progress their relationship faster than if they were on their own.

It has a clear beginning, middle, and end that don't seem so disconnected with each other. The story also ends properly without dragging on for a hundred chapters of nothing happening (though there aren't any national level incidents each story arc and the worst thing that happened was a noblewoman going on a killing spree to mess up Lucia's reputation. No physical harm done to her).

They even have a daughter in the end of the novel's main story, and although they don't change the world to become a better place (which is an unrealistic expectation), they are able to change each other, which is more than enough for me.

There are a lot of authors that bite off more than they can chew, which this novel doesn't do. This allowed the story to shine most as the romance it is rather than some novel with cosmic righteousness.

The grey area is a nice place to be~

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

After leaving, Lie Wei Ying exited the portal. He quickly arrived at Mother just outside the Desert of Death.

One year in the Monarch Knight Worlds had passed by since he left. However, it had been roughly a week in the world of Mother, his home planet. Because of the dimensional difference in time, the Great Horandia had yet to attack Lie Wei Ying's family, and he was still waiting outside the portal for Lie Wei Ying.

In that long week of him waiting outside the doorway to the Monarch Worlds. The Great Horandia had done nothing besides meditate on the Dao, and had surprisingly broken through into the Cosmic Immortal stage. Because of that break through, his body was glowing with a refined light caused by his sixteen cosmic body parts. Then there was the tribulation he experienced. 

Overall, it was a long week, but he had given Lie Wei Ying a month. He was planning on using this month to breakthrough into the Cosmic Celestial stage thanks to the Alternate reality system.

His new potential was insane, and that was because he was someone that was saved by the Alternate Reality System's master. The man responsible for the system was named Fai Gang, and  he felt indebted to Fai Gang for saving him just a week ago. Now, he was waiting here faithfully because of Fai Gang's orders. In fact, Fai Gang, who was behind him, was able to summon abilities from other universes and gift them to others. Basically, he made a great teammate. 

They had planned to wait here for Lie Wei Ying, and his master was in the bushes occasionally assisting him in his cultivation. 

However, before he could improve anymore something odd happened. A small boy seemed to show up in his eyes as the monarch doorway opened.
 
He had no idea how this could happen because doors like these only had one other entrance way. Lie Wei Ying had the other door, and it wouldn't be him. After all, how strong could he get in a week? 

He sighed before he closed his eyes once again and started thinking about it. It was most likely an illusion he concluded, and he returned to his meditation. 

Occasionally, he'd been experiencing illusions of Lie Wei Ying's arrival, and every time there would be a great battle before he ate the little boy, and gifted his system to his master.

At this moment, he yawned before he felt something tap his neck. He didn't know what it was, but then he felt a calming sense of air spread through his body. Without further ado, he closed his eyes.

....

"Congratulations, you've killed the Great Horandia. Exp boost x 2"

Lie Wei Ying sighed at the decreased experience and kicked away the gigantic horned head off the Great Horandia's body. He was well aware that he could've been kinder and actually let him fight him. Even so, this man wanted to kill his family, and he didn't even know how to fight someone so weak. Because of that, he didn't fight him and gave him a merciful slice rather then making him suffer. 

At this moment, though, he noticed the Grim Reaper was already chasing after that one presence in the bushes. 

Fai Gang, who was with the Great Horandia, sighed and held his hands after being noticed. The Grim Reaper was incredibly fast, and he had no idea why he was with Lie Wei Ying, but he still found him in the shrubs. He dropped a small object on the floor and rose from the bushes.

The Grim Reaper, at this time, already had his scythe wrapped around the man's head. He yanked him by the neck, and caused him to stumble out from hiding. After falling on the ground for a second, he looked up and laughed towards the small, but freakishly terrifying boy.

"…Ah… It seems you've made friends, Lie Wei Ying," Fai Gang said and struggled to return to his feet. The grass blades were crushed underneath him, and he saw himself dying hundreds of times in millions of different worlds.

Regardless, he had to focus, so he tuned into Lie Wei Ying.

"Do I know you," Lie Wei Ying replied.

"Ha… well… I know you would know me, but right now you don't. In fact, if you did, you'd probably be dead, but since you don't you are alive. Also, you're much stronger in this reality… What have you done to my sister?"

Lie Wei Ying looked at him with a puzzled expression. "You… you're not a normal guy, are you?"

The Grim reaper pushed him by the back sending him sliding into the dirt once again. He landed by Lie Wei Ying and started laughing at all the fates he saw. He wasn't going to come out of this alright unless he was really clever.

"Heh… hehehehe… No, I've seen more realities than any man could, but not this one and I don't know why. In fact, you're stronger than all realities I can see combined at the moment. I don't see how I can survive this, either, without saying my sister is Yu Yan in one."

The Alternate Reality system was a system that allowed Fai Gang to be in many worlds at once, which sort of his personality into what it was today. Every time he spoke, it literally made no sense. All the knowledge of 1000s of universes was trying to be comprehended, but alas it was too much.
Yet he knew that Lie Wei Ying and Yu Yan were two people always aligned. It made sense to say that he was his sister. 

Lie Wei Ying, anyways, immediately felt a sense of relief hearing Yu Yan's name out of this scum bags mouth. Just because of that name, rather then killing him immediately, he offered out his hand and pulled him up.

The grim reaper chimed in a second later, "well, I still think you should kill him Lie Wei Ying," 

"Enough Grim… he really might be her brother," he said and dusted off the mans shirt.

Truthfully, Lie Wie Ying knew nothing about Yu Yan's past and felt good at having this chance. 

Fai Gang, at this moment, was experiencing many things and hardly realized Lie Wei Ying tugged him up. He saw a string of possibilities and would occasionally hold out his arms to try and stop actions from different dimensions. Out of all the systems, this one perhaps had the biggest effect on someone's sanity. He pointed towards the grim reaper.

"....Stop, stop killing with that scythe, you monster!"

The Grim Reaper was hundreds of feet away from him and was surprised this man was still even alive. However, he was keenly aware there was no blood on his scythe. 

"Grim, I think he has some weird type of ability… Let's hear him out." Lie Wei Ying joined in.

"I'm not weird alright," Fai Gang answered completely missing the conversation going on in this dimension..

Regardless, a moment later, the three of them were sitting down. 

Three different men with systems sat down and Fai Gang tried to explain himself.

First, he clarified a few things about how he saw Yu Yan dying in this reality. He made sure to say that Lie Wei Ying had to be delayed in order to save Yu Yan's death in the second realm.

He forgot to mention that he wanted to kill Lie Wei Ying, but in order to live he lied. In fact, he started seeing some possibilities of actually surviving this. He nodded his head at Lie Wei Ying as he spoke the words he was waiting for.

"…So, you just wanted to protect her, I get it, but if you wanted to live so bad, you're going to have to give me something in return."

Fai Gang laughed and scooted away a tiny bit from the Grim Reaper. "I… I have a great ability Lie Wei Ying, so if you let me live I'll give you a subsystem that you would've gotten in the game system."

"Well, that's good, but tell me what subsystem it is first."

Fai Gang shook his head. "No, reality must not know, or Fate… If I talk, they will find out."

"Alright… give it to me and I'll let you live."

Obviously, Fai Gang didn't reject this offer, and once gain didn't disclose he had to be in Lie Wie Ying's proximity to receive the system. Basically, he had to be in the area of a person's dead body to carry out the gift. He had been killing Great Horandia's and Lie Wei Ying's for weeks in different realities. Regardless, this Lie Wei Ying was different and frightening because this one had acquired the Overpowered system, and not one of the other weakling systems. He held out his hand and called forth a [reality shift].

"Congratulations, you've acquired the Game Subsystem… Ability to examine stats, and strengths of yourself and others has been learned."

Lie Wie Ying smiled and then tugged Fai Gang up. He wasn't an idiot and could tell that this was a ruse.  Also, even though he explained Yu Yan was his sister in another universe, was it really enough to stop him from killing him? 

"Gush!"

In Fai Gang's eyes he saw many realities where he did survive. His soul went off to find one of those realities, but then before it could a hand reached out and grabbed onto him. He wiggled with a dreadful fear before the Grim Reaper extended his hand and grabbed the floating ephemeral orb.

In that moment, he shoved the soul into his mouth, and swallowed it with a happy expression.

"…. Master… sorry… I couldn't help myself."

Lie Wei Ying laughed and then pat him on the back. "It's probably better that you did that... Anyway, what was your name again?"

He heard the Grim Reaper start talking, but focused all of his attention on the sun.

What is overpowered? Overpowered is Lie Wei Ying. He is a man who will become a god!

He receives a system called Overpowered. What does it do? Well, it makes the main character overpowered. So what if someone is five stages higher than you. Lie Wei Ying doesn't care. Fighting a mountain as a ten year old child? Give him ten chapters and he'll make the mountain a canyon. Give him a hundred chapters, and maybe even the gods will grovel.

After using the bathroom, I decide to get dressed. I put on some blue jeans and a white T-shirt. "Sweet and simple" has always been my motto. She walked out of the bus and walked as she walked on the path she stopped as she spotted a bill on the ground. She bent down and picked up the bill it was a bill of 100 Yuan. The girl smiled and put the bill into her valet. She walked to the building and approached the table. She saw the worker and said, "I would like my copy of the game and the virtual reality headset."
The attendant nodded, "Your name please"
