      Vanity and power hunger were the reasons behind the First War 
in the most ancient of times.
       It started when one-third of the multitude of angels that lived in the City of Heaven decided they should be gods.
       The heavenly creatures split into two factions. There were the Allegiant and the Renegades.
       The Allegiant received this name because they pledged allegiance to the Father of All Lights. The Renegades were Lucifer's comrades.
         Sterlig was a General in the Allegiant forces and Hazug was his best friend. The problem between the two friends started when they took the opposing sides of the fight.
         Hazug could not accept Sterlig's choice. After a terrible battle, their friendship was over. If angels could die, one of them would have killed the other. As it wasn't possible, Sterlig defeated Hazug imposing his superior force and skills.
          Hazug became a General for the Renegades but held the grudge for the hardest defeat he would ever suffer.
            General Sterlig and his inner circle, Bolnick, Venlig, and Pacij formed a tight group of friends.
            Throughout the ages, they fought against the Renegades in many confrontations. 
             The war seemed endless until the 
Father of All Lights made his point casting out Lucifer and his legion from heaven to the Earth.
              The Father decided that a simple law would be enforced. Free Will must prevail and no creature would be free of His edict.
              After their fall, the Renegade Generals settled on Earth. 
              With time,  the defeated divided their domains. 
             They chose to exchange knowledge for sacrifices and adoration.  They taught sorcery, forgery, necromancy, and warfare to their human worshipers.
               They relished the reverence, basked in the idolatry. They had fought the Father to become gods and in a certain way, their wishes came true. They became the bloodthirsty gods of ancient cultures.

         However, General Hazug found himself isolated because no adoration appeased him.
            He hated to know he was the exiled loser.
             The Father of All Lights was his nemesis, and revenge was his only goal. Not to mention, facing how powerful his former friend had become was salt in the wound.
             To add insult to injury, Hazug felt humiliated Because of how Sterlig had won that last battle between them. 
              The Renegade could never unwind, and he never stopped planning revenge  
                He decided to strike where it would be more painful and hatched an abominable vengeance plan.

It was eight at night and the wind was blowing rapidly. The wind and the AC going all at the same time was making the building extremely cold. The wind was so strong, you could hear its howls from outside. It felt as if it was going to rip the roof off this dusty old building. All we had were some light sweatpants, short sleeve shirts and some socks to keep us warm. Not even our body heat could help, the mixture of the wind and AC were canceling it out. For me at least.

I headed down to the cafeteria slowly, shivering. It was absolutely unbearably cold. Maybe I was just anemic. I was the last one to reach the cafeteria. There were only three tables being used tonight. Each labeled with the numbers one, two or three. I remembered that my number was one and I quickly made my table of seven people turn into eight, just like the other two. In other words, there were eight people per three tables. Before I could even look around and see the people in my group, one of the men began by saying-

"Alright, listen up. Tonight is a very important night. This is the last night you guys will be here. Now I know this might sound confusing, but  you're not quite out of the woods yet. You will leave this building tomorrow with supplies and everything you need, but you will not leave off the grounds of this platform. This is now survival of the strongest. These teams you are in are now called divisions- division one you are "Allegiant" division two you are- "Insurgent" and division three you are "Divergent". Everything will be left up to you and your division. If you want to have a leader you guys decide that, if not, that's fine too. You guys also decide how you use your resources. It's all up to you. You will be provided with a minimum amount of weapons and resources. This is survival. This is the fight to the death. Now, don't think this will just be to kill people and our cruel way of fun, it's nothing like that. At the end there is a prize for the winner or the winning division. Twenty million dollars in cash, your family will be taken care of, and you will have a personal mentor to help you expand your abilities to max. Tomorrow at eight AM sharp. Let the games begin."

I knew I wasn't the only one dumbfounded. My mouth was hanging wide open. W-we'd have to kill each other? I finally turned around to take a look at my division- It was Violet, Akira, Me, of course, Lilac, Chilo, Timothy, and Rose. I knew some people, but others, not so much. 

We were all sent back to our rooms, where we would spend the night one last time. I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that I might have to commit murder. Was this whole thing even legal? I mean first they kidnap us, and now this? There was no way. 

I lay down once more in the bunk bed for the last time. I take Violet's diary out from underneath my pillow and open it to page two.

 "Dear diary- 12/11/3025
I know it's been a while, but I no one else listens or has time for me anymore, so here I am. I don't know how to feel about today. It seems as though my friends have just turned on me out of nowhere. I don't know why!..  :(  They just seem to hate me now. Maybe it's because they dared me to steal five hundred dollars from my parents and I refused… Maybe I'll do it.. Yeah, next time they ask I'll do it!

I wish that I could've told young Violet that they weren't real friends. But what is done is done. Plus it's too late to go back now, it's ten years later. 

Maybe I should get some shut eye. I have a very eventful day tomorrow anyway, I need as much sleep and or rest I can get.

A 16 year old girl feels as though she needs to step up as she has no parents and she needs to take care of her 7 year old little brother and 10 year old little sister. She soon gets taken to a strange place, where she may be faced with death. But I’m the bright-side she soon discovers she has abilities that no one has ever heard of in her small town before. She is very smart and good at coding and engineering/ technology, not easily deceived or vulnerable, can read someone like a book, basically a human lie detector, Very serious, very blunt, rational, logical, a little too honest, and very very very sarcastic. She is also extremely over protective of her siblings. As she should be.

As the sharp and terrifying fiery battle qi flashed across the air with rain in the courtyard, the first batch of over 10 dare-to-die fighters was shattered into flesh. 
In the clanks, those dare-to-die fighters' sabers and swords fell onto the ground. In the rain, the entire courtyard was paved with a scarlet carpet as a dense bloody smell started to suffuse in the courtyard. 
With a faint, contemptuous smile, Elder Brother Huang drew back his hands as he said, "Fireflies dare scramble for brilliance with the moons. I'm really moved by these allegiant dogs of Zhang Taixuan!"
After throwing a glance at that colorful spiritual butterfly flying above his hand as he faintly frowned, "Zhang Taixuan has been here; however, he's already left. It seems that he's returned to Youzhou Province, will we..."
"Let him go. We will catch him sooner or later!" Elder Brother Huang said with a flash of cruel look, "Now that Zhang Taixuan came to such a hidden place stealthily, there must be something important here. Let's search for it!"
After hearing his words, the other two people nodded as they all entered the chateau for an investigation.

After the battle above Weishui River, although Zhang Tie was severely injured and couldn't run his spiritual energy, he had already hoarded Yan Feiqing's spiritual energy with the excuse of using her spiritual energy to look into his injuries after waking up in Xuanyuan Hill. After pushing open the iron gate, he didn't go downstairs; instead, he directly jumped off and strode forward to Zhang Tie's side. Closely after that, he lifted Zhang Tie up from the ground and put Zhang Tie in front of him. Then, he waved his arm while a pineapple-sized alchemist's bomb appeared in his hand. He then put the bomb close to Zhang Tie and his own head as he roared towards the iron gate, "If anyone of you dares move, I will press down the switch at once. As long as I lose my hand, this alchemist's bomb would be detonated at once. I will die together with you..."
Two people of the three abruptly widened their eyes when they saw Zhang Tie.

The two shadow knights exchanged a glance with each other full of shock as neither of them had imagined that they could see Zhang Tie here.

The two shadow knights stopped on the last step.
"No need to be that radical!" the shadow knight surnamed Huang persuaded him calmly.
When that shadow knight surnamed Huang spoke, a semi-transparent finger-nail-sized spider climbed out of the sleeve of the Immortal White Bone behind him and jumped into a shadowy area over 7 m away as fast as a lightning bolt.
"Cut the crap. Leave out of here, leave out of here..." that middle-aged fighter kept roaring.
"Put down the bomb. We would pay you 10 times more than that Zhang Taixuan could..."

Raigon chose to be left behind in the midst of the battle and faced their general head-on so he can buy time for his loved ones to escape. 
He stared at Lord Vigo as he pondered on his offer that seemed both tempting and ridiculous to him. 
"Do you think delaying what is inevitable can achieve anything?" Lord Vigo raised his eyebrow in response to him.
Raigon drew in a deep breath and answered him. "I will convince Azra to come back. The Hou Clan will be safe."
If he can persuade Azra, the situation would not go out of hand. However, Lord Vigo retorted in a different way than he expected.
"And also the two ladies? This all would not have happened if you didn't bring them here in the first place. I knew they were trouble. How could you even let yourself close with those possible intruders being the Crowned Prince of Terra?"
Raigon's teeth gritted at his comment at his venomous words but he chose to calm down as he was the one making an offer. But it seemed like Lord Vigo wasn't finished yet with him. 
"Are you even thinking how the City of Terra is right now or you're just blindly having fun with your so-called friends?" Lord Vigo heaved out a deep sigh before giving his last words.
"I would have been guilty doing this to you. But seeing you like this just feeds my determination. I'll give you one day. Bring him back by nightfall tomorrow."
He immediately stood up to call back his royal guards leaving a stunned Raigon behind.
A day could be enough for his intended actions. But It was like cold water had been splashed over his face with Lord Vigo's words. His fist balled up as he defended himself from himself. 
It is not true that he has no concern for Terra anymore ever since he met Zoe. He was trying to figure out who were the real intruders in Terra who could have caused the outbreak. And the possible assassins of his mother, who could have been Lord Vigo. 
But now that his friends were in danger, his mind was hell-bent on just saving them from it.
'Am I really just being reckless now? Is there really no other solution to this?'
He recalled the Queen's offer for him to let Zoe go and the situation will go back to its peaceful state.
'Or should I just go to the Royal Court now? Will they believe our claim or just accuse us of bearing false witness?'
He held his temple as he recalled the times that he was in the Council Meeting where he has never won against them. 
'Should I just talk to the King now? Will his health be not affected with this?'

Raigon stood up and went straight to the Castle. His heart was pounding as he approached the King's Chamber.
'If only Zoe was here with me. Whatever happens to him, she can surely cure.'
He bit his lips in regret as he walked along the hallway. He must have put the condition of his father first and asked Zoe to treat him when they met each other, rather than fight for their relationship.
'Can the Queen be true? Am I really betraying my family because of other people? And now I'm here ready to risk my father's life to save others'?'
He froze and was about to step backward when the servants who were on the door of the King's Chamber recognized him. 
"The Crowned Prince is here, Your Majesty!" They all bowed down to greet him. 
Raigon scratched his head as he bowed back and went inside. The King was at the table, focused on reading some papers. But when Raigon came in, he immediately stood up and greeted him. 
"How's everything going on with you and Lady Asha?" His face radiated as he seemed excited to know more about the details.
But as he saw his son's gloomy appearance, he instantly recognized that it wasn't going well.
Raigon sat in the opposite chair as the King's and gazed at him, assessing if he could really open up the issue about her and Azra to him and he wouldn't be stressed out and lose it.
"I can not be a King of Terra in my condition right now. But don't let this disease take away even my right as a father to you. What is bothering you my son?"
He smiled and reassured him. 
Raigon drew in a deep breath and told him the current situation right now. King Artair stood up in surprise and despair. But as he saw Raigon's worried appearance. He immediately sat down and calmed himself.
"I didn't realize that the same situation would also happen to you. It is the reason why Lord Hou was not in service anymore."
Raigon's face turned pallid white as he saw that history is just repeating itself wherein he is the main character now.
What kind of ending would he choose?
"Since I am the King now, I can make arrangements for this. But I don't know if they would stop at this. God or even the people. Falling in love with an outsider is not the way of this land."
He stood up and patted his shoulders.

His warm breath grazed on her shoulders making her more delirious that she is now in her fever.

Her fingers worked her way up to his nape and caressed it, as she takes pleasure in what Raigon is doing to her.

'I must be really sick right now. This feels so real.'

A wide river ran through the valley, then merged into a lake. A city was built beside the lake, its boundaries arranged in the shape of a crown. A giant bridge cut across the lake, with many boats bustling along under it.
Emerald-hued mountains and meadows could be seen all around the city. The rolling mountains showcased layer upon layer of vast forest. It was a green land, and this city by the lake was like the glimmering pearl in the heart of the forest.
Eva carried the luggage behind Lu Zhiyu, as they stood on a hillside. A breeze rustled the green hillside, lifting the edge of Eva's cloak. Even her hat was blown off by a strong gust.
Lu Zhiyu reached out qucikly to grab the hat. Then, Lu Zhiyu gently adjusted Eva's silver hair, while setting her hat back on her head.
As he did so, he chided her, "How do you always lose everything? This is not a good habit."
Eva put her hands on her knees and bowed. "Sorry, Master!"
Lu Zhiyu looked at Eva in surprise. "Master? Where did you learn such a strange term?"
Eva immediately replied, "I know assume that I am your possession. Therefore, you are my master."
Lu Zhiyu frowned, uneasy with this term. "Just call me Anthony!"
Eva gave Lu Zhiyu a serious look. "That would defy the definition, Master!"
Lu Zhiyu put a hand to his forehead, feeling a headache developing. "Why are you always so earnest about such a strange things?"
Eva put her hands on her knees and bowed again. "Sorry, Master!"
Lu Zhiyu didn't want to speak to Eva anymore, so he turned around and looked at the city below. "Wow, it's beautiful. No wonder everyone else calls Babus the Gem of the Forest. It does seem like a fitting name."
They were descending along the grassy hillside now. The view was unexpectedly wondrous.
Walking across the bridge, the wide river could be seen underneath it. The boats were constantly sailing past them and entering the city through the various tributaries. Many of these small tributaries flowed straight through the city itself.
The rows of ships that were cruising along the river formed the distinctive cityscape of Babus. Shouts would ring out from time to time, as large ships from afar arrived to the port. The unloading process of each was always intense and lively!
The Babus Bridge had been built a hundred years ago, but a large renovation was conducted on it about thirty years ago.
Currently, there were an endless number of carts being used to unload the ships. They then were driven towards the city by alpacoids. Among those transporting goods were businessmen and farmers from surrounding villages, as well as dock workers and local craftsmen.
Lu Zhiyu followed the waves of people into the city. The Kingdom of Mara was located in the forest and had many swampy areas. Although it had a lot of land, its population was comparatively low.
Most of its territories were ruled by autonomous lords. The status of the King of Mara Kingdom was basically equivalent to that of a lord of a large territory. Other than Babus, the other territories were only nominally allegiant to the king.
As such, the strength of the Kingdom of Mara was on a completely different scale versus countries like the Crete Empire and the Kingdom of Rosa d'Oro. Even if they fought with a small duchy, like the Duchy of Gracchus Principality, it was likely that they would be defeated in a war.
But, once the kingdom reached a state of crisis, the nobles would unite together to fight the foreign threat. As such, even the Kingdom of Rosa d'Oro would not dare to fight the entire Kingdom of Mara.
Babus was the largest city in the Kingdom of Mara, and was also its trading capital and commercial port. As such, a large amount of wealth flowed into the city of Babus, making its ruling family, the Monar family, the richest within the kingdom. Thus, they also became the royal family of the Kingdom of Mara, as their ties to trade supported and maintained their rule over the country.
"Move aside, move aside! Don't block the path."
"Step aside!"
A group of knights, who were guarding a carriage, were passing through the Babus Bridge. These knights were fully armored and wore silver helmets. They were the elite force, and as they passed by, a path was immediately cleared for them. Then, the luxurious carriage entered the city under their watch.
"Who is it?"
"Didn't you see the insignia? It's the royal family, the Monar family!"
"It was probably a prince or princess!"
"Which Royal Highness has returned this time? The king is still quite healthy. Why did they come back? Isn't that the equivalent to giving up their inheritances?"
"Shhh, don't gossip lightly about the royal family!"
Ever since the previous generation came to rule, the Monar royal family would send all of its heirs away to govern their own areas. Regardless of his or her gender, only the most capable heir would gain the throne.
Rumors said that the Monar family had created the system while it was faltering. At that time, King Charisse hoped to stabilize the situation by encouraging his descendants to continue to expand the influence of the royal family, so that, eventually, all of the kingdom would truly be under the rule of the Monars.
The current king was quite old. Although he was still in excellent health, the battle for the succession of the throne had already begun. Lu Zhiyu looked at the carriage and felt an unusual shift within the atmosphere.
"A ghoul? How interesting!"
Lu Zhiyu could sense that the carriage was holding a woman in her twenties. Her outer appearance was normal, and she was clearly breathing, which showed proof of life. Yet, Lu Zhiyu could not feel her consciousness.
Others may be confused over such an odd occurrence, yet the ghoul was originally created by Lu Zhiyu. As such, Lu Zhiyu immediately discerned what had happened to the woman. She was obviously a ghoul!
He hadn't expected anyone to transplant the bloodline of the ghoul, as this bloodline had a higher rejection rate, when compared to ordinary magical beast bloodlines. Moreover, even if the transplant succeeded, it had huge side effects!
First of all, the transplant recipient would slowly become a corpse, as they gradually lost all kinds of sensations that a normal human should have. These losses ranged from the senses of taste and touch to the ability to procreate, even various desires were gradually lost.
As such, Lu Zhiyu had not expected that any wizard would actually attempt it. Yet, he thought that this kind of decision was also somewhat reasonable. For wizards, the exploration of strength and knowledge was the most important thing. Everything else was secondary for them.
He took a boat through the city. After docking, Lu Zhiyu entered a hotel. After booking a room, he asked the boss, "When is the next ship sailing to the Crete Empire?"
The chubby innkeeper, who was also responsible for the shipping business, hurried to look at the schedule. "Well, there will be a boat leaving for the Crete Empire in two weeks, but it may be two days late. Do you want to book a ticket? In the meantime, you can enjoy your time in Babus. It is truly a paradise, as there are all kinds of..."


By accident, Lu Zhiyu found the entrance to a low-dimensional world, and thus began a totally different journey!
