This is the story of how the race of Wizards were destroyed 1000 years ago.

It is as speculated the wizard was a race similar to the witches but got destroyed early.

"We are looking for a man named Arthur" said Lorgar
"He has been missing for a week and hasn't been seen since." Replied the bartender.
 After a long two-hour discussion Lighting and Lorgar got all the information they needed.  That a few months ago the attitude of the king suddenly changed.  They later also learned that people who didn't like the changed king the very next minute loved him.  Lighting and Lorgar also heard something about witches working for the king.  They were concerned since this king sounded similar to Appen and he used his entire kingdom for a witch hunt.  They also found out that everyone in this bar had a loved one being 'controlled' by the king.  After learning more, they learned that the witches were staying in the castle but in the dungeon.  

"How dare this Montego king" shouted Lighting.

"Let's go kill him right now." Said Lorgar.

"Wait. Let's save the witches first and contact Nightingale to help" replied Lighting

       Lorgar was taken aback for a second because Lighting was usually one to act on a whim but this time she was the one that thought things through first.  After staying in Greycastle for a year she got to know everybody habits and personalites.  She would have loved to see Wendy's face when Lighting acted rationally of her own accord.

          Lighting took out a box with a stem on it and pressed a button to talk.  I think the king called box a radio and it worked on waves, she had no idea what it had to do with the ocean but as long as it worked.  Roland offered to teach her about it but she lost him as soon as he said frequency, what the heck is that.  After talking for a few minutes Lighting came back and said that Nightingale wasn't coming but Margie was.  After waiting for about two hours Margie arrived in another invention of his majesty's I believe he called it a prop plane.  There were five planes and he told us that the first five to be able to use it correctly would be called the Red Baron squad and were to wear a red scarf.  I think he also said something about Snoopy but it sounded like a strange word so she must have heard it wrong.  The Red Baron squad included: Wendy, Tilly, Scroll, Andrea and surprisingly Ashes.  Everybody surmised that in order to stay with Tilly Ashes studied 24 hrs. a day to be able to fly along with Tilly.  Actually, after the test was over Ashes passed out in the plane and heard Roland mutter something about a DUI similarity and somebody asked him about it.  He told us not to mind it and even helped take Ashes back to his room, to Ashes infatuation when she learned what happened.
       Margie arrived surprisingly with a tagged along Nightingale.  They asked all the details of what we found over the last few hours while waiting for Margie.  Along the way to the castle Margie asked
"I thought Maggie came with you?"
"She did" affirmed Lorgar.
"Where is she?"  asked Nightingale.
"She went to get us lunch." said Lighting.
"What?" asked Margie.
"We heard the large boars were the tastiest in this area from a trader" stated Lighting.
"Make sure she doesn't scare anyone" replied Nightingale.  Referring to the different forms of flying animals that can give a fright to the citizens.

       After avoiding several guards, we found out were exactly in the dungeon the two witches were being held.  We knocked out the guards and then had Nightingale get the magic restraint cuffs off.  While doing this neither witch said a word to us but just gave a look at us like we this couldn't be true, that it was too good to be true.

 "Are you both okay?" asked Margie.
Neither of them responded to the question she just asked.

"What should I do with these two guards" asked Lorgar.  
Nightingale overcome with anger because she hasn't see witches treated like this in over a year made a hasty decision.

"Kill them." She coldly stated.

Lorgar gave Nightingale a strange look but after seeing the hatred in her eyes she changed her arm into a wolves and clawed at the guard.

"Wait!" said one of the witches who was now unshackled.

Lorgar stopped in her tracks and looked at the witch that just shouted.  They didn't say anything when we were helping them with their cuffs but when we were going to kill their captor.  Lorgar thought something strange was going on.  She changed her arm back and they decided to have a discussion before killing the guards.

          After freeing the witches and getting them out of the cell we found more information about what was going on in Silversight.  They said the king was taken over by someone else and that he changed for the worse.  The thing that shocked them most of all was that the King had a power to control people and even animals they surmised.  All the Greycastle witches thought this was impossible, since he was a man, until Nightingale used her power to discover magic power was on the two guards they incapacitated.  This is why the witches didn't want them killed because the guards were acting not of their own accord.  They didn't discover the magic power earlier because Nightingale had Margie practice her power to sneak in the castle.  In that time Nightingale didn't activate her magic power because she wanted Margie to be able to sneak into places on her own without her help so she had this skill to rely on in the future.  After leaving the castle they went to the bar from earlier to have a lengthier discussion and found out that Arthur was most likely dead. They learned this from a new patron that came into the bar after they left otherwise the would have already known about Arthurs fate. They all quickly decided that they needed to get rid of this king quickly.  The Silversight witches worried that it would start a mutiny or riot if the king was killed but they told the witches not to worry that Roland Wimbledon would help them out with food, clothing, riots and even regicide if needed.  They Silversight witches asked about the controlled people and what would happen if they killed the king.  

"Not to worry" said Nightingale.  " I have seen several different powers over several years.  On the prison guards I saw at the castle they had two strings attached to their bodies which headed in the same direction, towards the king I believe.  If we kill the king the strings of power will disappear and the citizens be back to their normal selves."

    The Silversight witches looked relieved and also the man that told them about Arthur.  Nightingale allowed him to hear about it because her power was telling her he wanted to help the citizens and the witches.


"Lets kill a King" stated Nightingale with a smile.

"I see."
Elaine nodded slightly before saying, "We can only pray that the Wyvern-type Abomination did not head directly for the towns and went elsewhere, giving the towns enough time to hide from the B-rank threat."
"As I recall, the Wyvern-type Abomination flew southward. That's in the direction of Blackwillow Town..." Gwena suddenly mentioned with a frown.
"That's right."
Elaine nodded without much thought before pausing with a similar frown on her face.
"Blackwillow Town is not far from Starfire Mountain... Not to mention, Eniwse was a Fire Specialist. The Wyvern-type Abomination will evolve into a greater threat if it is not dealt with swiftly."
"Yes, but the problem is we don't have any High Witch in this region, and it will take some time before one arrives," Gwena spoke before adding, "Before that, the local lords might suggest a punitive expedition of Senior Witches."
"Probably. It'll be a few more hours from now before we receive any response from the neighboring towns. Tonight is expected to be restless..."
As Elaine spoke, she poured two cups of tea before suggesting, "How about taking a seat and accompanying me for some idle chat?"
"Fine." Gwena smiled. 
Shortly after, she pulled over a wooden chair and took her seat before speaking, "Since we were on the topic of Fire Specialist, I wonder how the next batch of Awakened Witches will go." 
"True. It's actually very concerning that there have many more support-type magic awakenings than combat-type magic awakenings among the newly awakened witches, and fire magic awakening is even fewer." 
Elaine rubbed her temples upon thinking about such a problem.
At the same time, Gwena also sighed, "Right. It's more a huge problem now, but the entire human race will be in trouble if this trend continues."
"No doubt." 
Elaine nodded before adding, "Combat Witches have always made up the bulk of humanity's main assault force in repelling the evils spawns of Gehenna…" 
"However, we have no actual means of increasing the numbers of our Combat Witches. A Witch's specialization is determined by birth and manifests during their awakening. We have tried getting Apprentice Witches to training solely in combat magic, but the endeavor proved to be fruitless." 
"Apprentice Witches' specialized magic will always be the magic they display the most talent in casting during their training. The only exception to this case is if they had yet to discover their most talented magic during training." 
"And it is also because of this that some witches will waste their time and effort when they fail to discover their most talented magic early." Gwena sighed. 
"Right." Elaine nodded before glancing at the box of notes, "Perhaps, the study notes will contain something useful in regards to this pro—"
Rustle~!
Elaine suddenly paused, turning her head to look outside the window with furrowed brows in silence. 
"What is it?" 
"Nothing. Must have been the wind or something." Elaine shook her head with a slight smile. 
Nevertheless, she opened the patio door and moved to the balcony.

In the dark of the night, the shadows of Vaan's figure were vaguely seen moving with subtleness on the rooftops of academy buildings. 
Before leaving the wasteyard, he was equipped to the best of his ability—given the limited materials in the environment.
He wore an altered black uniform while wearing spiked boots and gloves with claws—seemingly made for easier climbing. 
The short enchanted sword was sheathed and strapped to his waist while he wore a belt containing several small powdered bottles of different colors. 
It was unknown what else was hidden under Vaan's black cloak and sleeves while making his way towards a particular building, but a strange odorless powder had erased all of his body's scent.
Shortly after stopping on the rooftop of the infirmary building, Vaan became very still and perked his ears for sound activity within.

On the third floor's infirmary, two witches-in-training tended to the unconscious Isabelle, who slept soundly on the medical bed with stable breathing. 
"Looking at this b*tch sleep so peacefully makes me want to strangle her to death," One of the witches-in-training spouted while tidying up the blanket, causing the other witch-in-training to be slightly shocked. 
"Watch your tongue, Maria." The young Apprentice Witch hushed before warning, "If she hears you, your life in the academy will be miserable."
"So what? I'm not scared of her, and you shouldn't be either, Annavere. Our mothers are also Senior Witches. This is why I hate spoiled princesses," Maria snorted defiantly, causing Annavere to smile wryly. 
"It's not the same, Maria." Annavere shook her head helplessly before saying, "Our mothers are Senior Witches in the early phases while her mother is in the middle phase. I know you are also saddened by Librarian Eniwse's transformation, but—"
"But I'm not?" 
"What?"
Annavere was stunned. 
"Ahem." Maria coughed before saying, "I mean, what happened to Librarian Eniwse was indeed unfortunate, but I am more saddened by Servant Vaan's death. Now that he is gone, there's nothing for me to look forward to after practical lessons anymore…"
"Right, Servant Vaan's massages always washes away my fatigue. His masseur skills are simply divine and leagues above other servants."
"Still, it's strange that he is so picky and only offers his special services to some ladies—not that I am complaining, since I am one of them…" Maria spoke.
"Well, you can see from Isabelle's case that Servant Vaan doesn't like touching loose women with multiple partners..." Annavere said before asking with surprise, "But you really gave your chastity to another witch's servant?"
"Why not? Are you one of those people that over-glorify a woman's chastity over men's chastity? We're bound to lose it eventually," Maria responded nonchalantly.
Shortly after, she added in soft whispers, "Also, you'll be surprised if you knew how many girls are sneaking out of the academy to visit the local brothel if they are not using their own servants for that matter…" 
Annavere was speechless.
As they chatted, they killed the lights before making their way out of the infirmary building, returning to their own dorms.

'As I expected, Isa-b*tch was taken here…' 
Vaan thought after the infirmary building went quiet, knowing Eniwse would not have left the City Lord's daughter in one piece if she was angered to the point of going berserk.
Vaan quietly hopped down onto the third story's balcony and opened the locked patio door before slipping inside.
In a short moment, he was standing beside Isabelle's medical bed overlooking the person with a cold gaze as dozens of torture methods surfaced in his head.
'Although a quick death is too easy for this b*tch, I don't exactly have the luxury to stick around,' Vaan thought before drawing his enchant short sword. 
He hacked off Isabelle's head in a single swift motion without any intention of using his odorless powder to remove her scent of blood after drawing it—just for the sake of torture and satisfaction.
The threat of failing to escape was not worth the risk.
Furthermore, his odorless powder was limited and completely essential for survival in the wild, where demon beasts roamed aplenty.
Isabelle's eyes immediately snapped open in pain before gazing back at Vaan in horror, unable to speak with her head detached—but very much still alive. 
Still, it was only for a short period. 
Nevertheless, Vaan's enchanted short sword was soon embedded straight into her forehead impatiently before giving it a twist and granted Isabelle a swift death. 
Even the High Witches cannot save her at this point.

"My lord, more people have died because of the curses from those witches. Even the sorcerers can't outdo what they did to our people. If this continues,  our city will be wiped out. We must do our actions against this." The head of the knights, Sir Benedict reported that day to Lord Hermosa.  
The clan of Hermosa is one of the most influential and powerful families. Lord Julius Hermosa, handles the defense of the city and the state. Eventually, when he heard this from his trusted friend, he immediately took an action. His poor judgments lead the state to chaos and witches are said to be guilty of the endless killings of villagers.  
"All people who will help the enemies! Will be executed along with the witches, no excuse will be taken into consideration. This is an order from the King and his adviser, Lord Julius." That was where it started, the war between the sorcerers and witches. As well as people against witchcraft. Their villages are infiltrated all throughout the town and gathered them.  
The most powerful and leader of the witches, Layla is taken into the custody of Lord Julius.  "My Lord, our kind never do such things. I swear with my heart, no one from the witches has put a curse on any villagers of this town. We are concentrating on healing people and saving nature." His eyes are stoic as he looks at Layla who is begging for her comrades' lives. "You can take my life instead and blame it all on me. Just let my people go, they will not leave a trace that we ever existed in this state. Please, do not punish those innocent women who did nothing to be accused." Lord Julius touched the top of her head, and she thought that this man pitied her. But she was wrong.  
His hand harshly grabbed Layla's hair and made her look at him, "You filthy beings, should have never existed at all! You have no soul and conscience for wanting to live after what you did on those powerless humans. How can you even say that those people of yours did not cast the curse, huh? Witches are knowledgeable in witchcraft that our most powerful sorcerers can't beat. We have enough evidence to bring you in execution!" He slaps her face and the girl vomited blood.  
She thought at that time, how cruel must it be for humans to be deceived by their own beliefs. They punish the innocents and let the perpetrators live their life without worries. "Y-you have a family...right?" Despite how hard it was for her to talk, she asked the man. He stopped in front of the door. "Have you ever thought, to hear our side? W-we have not done anything wrong and I can prove you… if you will just let me that our kind did not do it." Her eyes teared up because of pain from her whole body.  
"Your side has been heard a long time ago, that is why you have the guts to do such cruelty on us. But you would not need to worry anymore, you will have your salvation and maybe then, the gods will forgive you for abusing your powers," he responded and left the dark cellar.  
Layla cried by herself, she feels helpless and wants to save the other witches but she can't do anything. Her hands and feet are tied with chains that have the ability to nullify her powers. Besides, the knights abused her while she does not have the capability to fight for herself. It became her worst nightmare for those days that she was left in that cellar. They will not kill her but instead make her suffer and cry in pain.  
A week has passed and the execution is decided. That is the first time she has seen the stars and the moon outside, as well as the other women. She cried when she saw how beat up the other girls too, even the children. "Free my people! We are not the culprits behind those deaths!" People are scared when she suddenly shouted, "Our side is not heard, you are the ones who abused your powers against the innocents. You blamed us for something we did not do! We can prove our innocence, please… give us a chance." Her eyes widened when an old man from the townpeople steps forward.  
"Lady, do you have powers that can heal?" She nodded desperately, and the old man showed his deep wound on his back. She can tell how futile it is if no one heals or medicated it, "Can you try it on me?" The knights pull the old man away from the platform where Layla is.  
But it surprised her when Sir Benedict interrupted, "Let them. That old man will die anyway because of disobeying the order but they will live if she proved her innocence." Lord Julius wants him to decline but he disregards his opinion. The glimpse of hope from Layla's eyes as well as the other witches is evident. And so the knights removed the metal chains on her but they tied a rope on her neck to control her movements.  
Layla touched the man's wound, and a light came from her hands while she mutters her spell. She closes her eyes and concentrated. The other witches are rooting for her, especially Minerva. She is Layla's sister but she can never be more powerful than her. She watches her sister do their spell in front of those people, and she admired Layla more for her strength. Minerva knows more than anyone how kind-hearted, and pure her sister, is.  
Minutes passed, and people observe her. "The wound disappeared!" A girl from the audience exclaimed until all of the crowd saw how she healed the old man.  
Lord Julius can't be angrier that he almost throws a fit right in the crowd. On the other hand, Sir Benedict smiled reassuringly at him, it made him confused. "Thank-" the man is about to thank Layla when he slowly dropped on the floor and blood is coming out of his body.  
"SHE CURSED THE OLD MAN!" the crowd began to take steps back and throws her things as well as to the other witches. "YOU ARE ALL EVIL BEINGS!" "KILLERS!" "LIAR AND WICKED!" She was trembling because of what happened, it is definitely not her fault! It was someone else's magic that causes the man to die. But no one will listen to her words anymore, humans are deceived by what they see. They can easily judge without knowing the roots of the situation.  
Layla looks around, there she saw a sorcerer hiding behind the shadows. She can see that much based on their aura, "They can't see the real devils lurking around," she whispers. Their execution continued and they put the chain back on her hands and feet. As she was about to get beheaded by the knight, all the witches hold each other hands, casting a spell for her. She shook her head, "No! No! I will go with you. Do not leave me alone!" People run away from where they were because of fear.  
"Find the justice for us, sister. We will always have your back as our leader." Minerva's last words forever stayed in her mind and heart. "Put the real curse on them." And everything started.

The story occurred in the Philippines with a touch of the classical-European theme.

"The Fjords are blessed with countless islands and no one has seen the borders of those islands," a tall and bold man with a rough appearance said. "The more eastward you go, the more unpredictable the climate is, and the same is true of the islands. What's worse, I don't know how strange they'll be in the end." 
"Have you also never been here?" Tilly asked curiously, "They said that you're the excellent adventurer, and that only you dare to cross Searing Flame Island and continue going eastward." 
"Hahaha," he said with a hearty laugh, "This is an exaggerated praise. In fact, there're brave people of the Fjords crossings to the east every year, but it's hard to find anything new. A storming hurricane and sudden fog will make the ships difficult to move." 
He was Thunder, Ashes thought, an adventurer who was the first one to discover Shadow Islands. However, many people thought that he had been killed since he disappeared in a shipwreck two years ago. Unexpectedly, he showed up in Sleeping Island and reached an agreement with Princess Tilly—he bore a responsibility to blaze new trails, chart maps, and discover new ruins for Sleeping Island while Tilly dispatched witches to assist him. As for the two-year disappearance, Thunder never told and Tilly was indisposed to talk, but she always thought Tilly knew the inside story, otherwise, they could not have such a tacit understanding, which made Ashes feel unhappy. 
"Like yesterday's hurricane?" 
"Yes, it both came and went in the blink of an eye." Thunder shook his tobacco pipe, sprinkling ashes into the sea and then filled in some tobacco. "But for a mysterious witch..." 
"Her name is Molly." Ashes reminded him callously. 
"Ah, yes, look at my memory." Without taking it seriously, Thunder touched the backside of his head and smiled. "Without Molly, the ship would have been capsized. And I often think that her magic power is so amazing that witches may be the most qualified adventurers." 
"There already are, aren't there?" Tilly smiled. "... Witches who bear the name of the best adventurers." 
"Hmm..." Thunder sucked his pipe and exhaled a long string of smoke. "I hope so." 
"Come on." Ashes frowned and had no idea about what they said, so she left the bow for the stern to calm her mood down. Princess Tilly seemed to be very urgent to explore new ruins, so after cleaning up the church of the Fjords, she set out to prepare for sailing. But to her surprise, no matter how much she tried to dissuade her, Her Highness asked to go in person. 
Sitting on the stern, Molly was controlling her magic servant to hold a fishing pole to learn fishing from the sailors. Even though the sailors were not happy about her being on board, their attitudes changed completely after yesterday's hurricane—the magic servant summoned by Molly expanded rapidly so that the middle part of the sailing ship was embedded into his body, which protected them from storming winds and heavy rains. Even if the ship floated on the sea fluctuating, its body kept stable. Therefore, each sailor considered witches the gods of luck and even said that they dare not sail without the company of witches. 
"Sister Ashes, I got a big fish!" Molly pointed at a bucket behind her where there was a scaleless fish with a sharp beak, completely different from the freshwater fish in Graycastle. 
"What's that?" 
"Swordfish. They like to follow ships, and sometimes they would destroy the bottom of a ship with their beaks," a sailor replied, "but they're delicious, especially the meat on its stomach, like a piece of melting ice when it's placed into your mouth." He smacked his lips. "In the evening, we can all enjoy the tasty, fresh swordfish." 
"I may have another fish!" Molly was surprised. 
She saw a dark shadow under the green water. As the magic servant pulled his fishing pole more and more powerfully, the more the shadow emerged from the sea. 
"This, this is." The sailor was stunned. "No, drop your pole immediately!" 
Before those words were finished, a monstrous creature popped out from the water and opened its big mouth biting directly towards Molly. 
The moment that Molly was about to be swallowed whole, Ashes, at a faster speed than the creature, held the little girl with her left hand and swayed her giant sword in her right hand to directly clap on the creature's head. 
The monster made a painful noise and was dropped down from the air forcefully, but it moved quickly with its six legs and wanted to escape into the water. However, Ashes did not give it an opportunity. She put Molly down and held the sword with both hands and struck downward to nail it directly to the deck. 
It twitched for a while, exhaling a string of white bubbles, and soon stopped moving. 
"What's this?" At the moment, Ashes had the opportunity to look carefully at the monster in front of her. It was somewhat like a fish with a crab's short feet, and its mouth was open and rounded, almost as large as its body and filled with dense teeth. The most disgusting thing was that there was a pair of furry arms on both sides of its mouth, and the ends were divided into five fingers, looking like human hands. 
"A mutant sea ghost!" Still suffering from the shock, the sailor patted his chest. "They are often disguised as fish and will bite the fisherman and drag them into the water. And I've heard that the sea ghost, having eaten humans, can grow hands!" 
"That last sentence is only a rumor," said someone behind her. Ashes turned her head to find that Thunder and Tilly had both come over. 
"Mr. Captain!" The sailor stuck his tongue out and made room for him. 
"The more formidable the rumor is, the more incorrect it'll be." Thunder stepped forward and kicked the monster on the ground. "In fact, it has a name you might be more familiar with." 
"What?" Ashes asked. 
"Demonic beasts," he said word by word. 
"Mr. Thunder, there's fog!" suddenly the lookout shouted. 
"Everyone must cheer up!" Thunder ordered loudly, "Drop the sail down. We're sailing into the waters of Shadow Islands!" 
Ashes noticed that a sunny sky had almost suddenly darkened and that the green waters had turned into ink green as if a mass of ink was unfolding under the water. After a while, the ship was shrouded in dense fog whereby, and at the stern, she could not see people clearly at the bow. 
"What happened?" Tilly could not help catching Ashes' arm. 
"This proves that we did not go wrong." Thunder smiled. "When Shadow Islands emerge from the sea, the waters will be covered by fog. Of course, the correct statement is that the sea is ebbing with a range of about 110 feet, so that a huge decline will produce a lot of water vapor, coupled with reefs everywhere, so a little bit of carelessness will lead the ship to be stranded and sunk. Therefore, I need you witches to protect the ship from crashing." 
They all came to the bow. Just like against that hurricane, Molly ordered the magic servant to enwrap the bow and expand his body as much as he possibly could with one part of his body deep into the water. So if there were hidden reefs in front of them, the servant would have felt them first. 
"What if there weren't any witches?" Ashes asked. 
"It would only depend on patience and luck." Thunder sighed. "We would send a boat to explore the road ahead and ensure that there weren't any dangers, and then we'd follow forward. However, this area of water isn't so tranquil, for demonic beasts, like you've seen before, will become more and more plentiful as we got closer and closer to Shadow Islands. The mist, reefs, and monsters... they're why many adventurers went there, but few of them could find the entrance to the ruins." 
After another hour of sailing, the Mist faded away gradually and Ashes saw more and more islands surrounding her. However, there were not any plants, but only green moss or algae and crustaceans on the islands. "Are these islands sunk into water?" 
"Yes, just like Sleeping Island, but the gap between ebb and flood tides is much shorter, almost once in half a month," Thunder replied, "What's more, the speed of flood tides is very fast as if there's a huge hole which madly engulfs the surrounding seawater. And, I even guess that it has a huge influence on the changing sea levels of the whole Fjords. If we're lucky, we can witness the whole process of its main island emerging from the bottom of the sea."

Today was the reb moon fesitval.
Lora had been preparing for this day for a few months and today at twelve she will finally be invited into the coven.
The remote village of Glamora was one of the only villages left with witches. And The red moon festival was the initiation festival for the new witches. Being a witch was a taboo in the continent of Torsqera, but the witches of Glamora always took pride in it.
Lora Hathaway was 12 years old already. And today she was making the Glamora special vanilla cake. She hummed a happy tune as she baked. The strong smell of vanilla spread across the kitchen.

Suddenly the phone in the living room started ringing.
Lora stopped humming and put down whatever she was doing. She jumped down from the stool she was standing to reach the kitchen counter, and briskly ran towards the living room. Her golden locks which reached up to her knees danced in the air as she ran.
"KNOCK KNOCK !"
At the same time, she heard a knock on the door.
Lora's deep blue eyes were lost in the conundrum.
'Should I open the door or take the phone call first?"
"KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!"
Just as she was lost in thought, the knocking on the door became more forceful and urgent. Lora decided that she will open the door first then call back later.
"Creeeeakkkk!"
She reached out to the ancient-looking wooden door decorated with a cure house plant. There was no one there. The door also looked the same from outside. The dead snake and Goats head she decorated were still there, fresh and dripping with thickened blood.
The night sky was just as serene as it used to be and a full moon hung on the skyline looking like a ball of cheese.
Lora stepped pout into her porch to look for the one who was pranking her. Her 'off white' frock she prepared for tonight's ceremony looked immaculate under the serene moonlight.
"Hmmpffff!!! What's wrong with people."
She stomped her feet in the new clack mary jane shoes and angrily returned to the living room.
The phone was still ringing.
She closed the door and went towards the telephone. The red phone which had been here since the time of her great grandfather was ringing furiously.
"Hello!"
She said as she picked up the receiver.
"LOOK BEHIND YOU!!!!!!!"
screamed a familiar voice from the other side of the phone.
Her heartbeat quickened and she turned back.
No one.
There was none!
The living room still looked the same. The fireplace was lighting up the room. On the red carpet was a grey obese cat lazing about.
"Hey! It's an important day for me. Stop pranking!" She furiously screamed back at the phone.
"Beeeeeep!Beeeeeep!Beeeep!"
Again, the person hung up on the phone. Just as she was pondering over who was the lady with the familiar voice on the phone, she smelled something burning.
"Burning?"
"Meow!"
The obese cat on the carpet was looking towards the kitchen.
Lora looked at the cat then towards the kitchen. Then the realization dawned upon her!
Her cake!
She put back the bright red receiver and ran towards the kitchen to discover just what she had imagined.
There was an overwhelming burnt odour in the kitchen. She hurriedly opened the oven and pulled out her now black as charcoal cake.
"I am never going to make it in time now. It will take too long to make another one now! What a mess!!!!"
Lora mumbled to herself in both dejection and anger.
"Anyway... Let's get started!"
She hurriedly took out all the ingredients to make a cake again and started working on the batter with skilled hands.
Soon she put another batch of cake into the oven and closed the oven's door.
"Phew...!" Lora sighed as she looked at the grandfather clock on the opposite wall. 
01:30am
Still about half an hour left till the festival starts. Lora decided that she should get ready now as the cake bakes. She continued to hum as she took a bath and wore the same 'off white' frock again. As she was bathing she couldn't let go of the feeling that something was amiss. 
Ever since young she was good at taking care of herself. Her parents were the coven's previous leaders. They died during an attack to exterminate witches 5 years ago. Lora was always respected and taken care of because of this. Since she was the only daughter of the coven's heros.
Soon She was ready. She looked at the clock again. 
02:17am
"Oh no.... I am late!" 
She rushed and took out the perfectly baked cake. She packed it hoping everything goes well since she didn't have time to wait for it to cool down and put decorations on it. She just slathered some jam on the top.
She put the cake in the box and rushed towards the door. 
"Tring Tring! Tring Tring!"
The vintage rotary dial telephone rang again. She put the cake on the coffee table besides the fireplace and picked up the telephone.
"Hello!" 
There was no reply. Just stillness.
"Hello?" She repeated.
She waited for a few seconds but there was no reply. 
"Meow!" 
Lora turned back towards the sound. Only to discover the obese cat trying to pry the lid of the carrying box for the cake open. 
"Spooky No!" 
She exclaimed and just as she was putting the receiver of the vintage telephone back, she felt a cold sensation on her hand. As if an ice cold hand was holding onto her wrist. 
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
She screamed at the top of her voice in fright. 
She dropped the holder in shock.
She looked around in the living room. There was no one in there other than herself and Spooky. 
"Thud!" 
She turned her head only to discover that Spooky had thrown the box off the table. 
She didn't react for a long time. She just picked up spooky and ran out of the house towards the village's community hall. The festival was supposed to be held there. 
The witching hour was close and she didn't have any offerings, but the phenomenon back at her house was too scary for her. She couldn't make a sound no matter what.
The b;omd haired and blue eyed little girl with a cat was running with all her might in the woods under the full moon. Her off white calf length frock fluttered as she ran with all her might. She looked scared. 
For the first time in her life she felt alone. Even though she didn't have parent's she was able to take care of herself well. She could us the money her parents left behind to live comfortably. Make friends at the coven school. She was never lonely. 
Even the empty house was still her home since it was filled with happy memories of her parents. But tonight she couldn't stay there. 
After a while she saw a familiar building before her. 
Why familiar? Because it was the same house she ran out from few minutes ago. 
Loraa breathed heavily. She tuned back and ran again. Few minutes later she was again before the same house. 
"Why.... Why is this... happening?" 
She felt hopeless. There was nowhere else to run. She steeled her resolve and stepped back into the house. The house looked the same as she left it.
Wait!
There were a few differences. The box that was on the ground with the cake spread on the carpet, was neatly put back on the coffee table. The reviever of the vintage rotary telephone was put back in the right place.
She couldn't believe her eyes. 
Was she just hallucinating?
Was she just too excited and started feeling things?
Just to confirm she opened the lid of the box. There was a perfectly fine cake inside. The jam was messy, but it was what she made herself. 
Unsure of herself she closed the lid again and opened just to make sure. 
The cake was perfectly fine. No doubts about it.
Just as she was pondering the phone started ringing again.
Tring Tring! Tring Tring!
She froze in place. 
She recalled the feeling of some icy hand grabbing her wrist and shuddered. 
Tring Tring! Tring Tring!
The phone continued to ring. 
Looking back at the cake she steeled her resolved again nd turned towards the bright red vintage rotaty dialed telephone. 
Tring Tring! Tring Tring!
"It was just my imagination. I was just making things up in my head." She nervously mumbled to herself as she picked up the receiver. 
"H-hello?" 
"Honey! Take care! I'll call you later!" 
This time it was the same familiar female voice. The other person hung up soon after saying that. 
"Mom?"
There was no doubt about it. It was her mom. 
Tht was why she found her voice so familiar. She looked at the grandfather clock in the living room. 
03:33am
The witching hour had already started.
She missed the festival. 
She dejected and ponderingly went towards the window. What she saw made her jaws drop.

Lora hummed a happy tune as she was cooking. The smell of vanilla spread all across the kitchen. Soon, she heard a knock on the door and her phone ringing at the same time. 

She went ahead and opened the door, only to discover an empty porch. 
She returned to her living room and picked up her phone.

"Hello!"
"LOOK BEHIND YOU!" the other person said. It was a familiar voice. 

She turned around only to find......

 George's cough had gotten worse since Estella abandoned them. Every time he coughed up blood, the disease took a terrible turn. All of the family now seemed to be concerned for their father's wellbeing, because he looked the part of a sickly, old man. Large black bags encircled his eyes as if he had been on the losing end in a fist fight, and his hair had been thinning. Constantly sweating, his head felt hot to touch. George only feared it was contagious, for he didn't want to get any of his family sick. He spent the entire day in his chamber, forcing Dane to make the crafts. 

    The Porters were sitting down to dinner when a great, loud knock came at the door. Rose opened the door to see who was there before business hours. It was two astonomia.  "What business do you have here?" Rose demanded.

    "We are here to retrieve the young witch who resides here as we were given an anonymous tip, Fluora Annabelle Porter."

    "Fluora and Estella aren't witches," she said as she already associated Kyla with Estella.

    "You know the king's orders. Any man, woman, or child suspected of witchcraft will be taken to the capital."

    "You can't take them, they are not witches!" Rose yelled as the astonomia rushed passed her. The two men in bright, orange shirts rushed both of the children. Kyla ran past them into George's room while Fluora jumped over the table in attempts to elude them. Dane stood up and grabbed a small axe that was at his side, throwing it at the larger of the astonomia, only to connect with his head. Blood splattered all over the walls and the ground. Quickly rushing over to retrieve the axe, the smaller of the astonomia had finally caught Kyla and was dragging her out of the parents' room. 

    "Drop the axe," he commanded, "and I won't have to tell the Valspar about this incident." Dane didn't care, he wouldn't let an innocent life be taken to the capital. This family needed Kyla in Estella's absence, well aware Estella may never return. 

    Rose blocked off the door as the astonomia tried to drag Kyla closer. In an effort to save Kyla, Dane rushed him, and the astonomia pushed Kyla into Dane's arms and ran out the door, smashing Rose out of the way. Unable to let him go because he knew he would get the death penalty, Dane rushed out the door and readied his axe to throw. Dane threw his axe and missed, so he chased the astonomia down the street until he caught him and tackled him to the ground. Drawing blood on the first punch to the lip, Dane beat the poor man until he moved no longer. More astonomia would come, they had to be ready for them. Without a drop of remorse, Dane drug the man behind the log cabin in the woods and started chopping him to pieces, the skeedles would dine well tonight. George walked around the cabin, "more will come," he coughed.

    "I know, papa, but I won't have my sister taken from us. She isn't even a witch. Our witch is already gone." 

    "We have to give the appearance no witch ever lived here. Estella will go on to do great things. I have always believed in her, but I'm afraid she started her quest too late. If more astonomia come, I will admit to killing these two and save your life and leave mine in the fate of the king."

    "What of Fluora? When they come, they will take her and Kyla and discover neither of them are witches."

    "Then, the person who gave the anonymous tip will be revealed to the public and justice will be served."

    Fluora came around the corner and shrieked, "papa, the king will surely sentence Dane to death."

    "Don't worry Fluora, we have it figured out. I will take blame for these deaths. I'm already on the way to death anyway, so I might as well die to save my only son."

    "What if Estella makes it back in time?"

    "Then, she will watch me die as well."

    "We can run, papa. We can go into hiding. You don't have to do this. We can go to Ulan."

    "No, we can't. If Estella returns, how will she find us? We need to stay put. I'm not even certain we could fight off all the creatures of the night, especially the werewolves. They would have us for dinner one night and breakfast the next morning. I can't put my family in danger. We have a strong, fortified home for a reason, not to be abandoned due to a little adversity. If we could just have breakfast, I would be most gracious."

    They all formed a line and went back inside to leave Dane to clean up after breakfast. Ignoring the dead body and blood, everyone sat down at the dinner table to eat breakfast as if nothing just happened. The position of astonomia was the most hated position in all of the southern territories. All the inhabitants had little respect for the men in orange and upholding the law was becoming ever more difficult. The Valspar rarely oversee all of their duties, leaving them for the lesser paid astonomia to clean up their messes, but the Valspar would still receive their handsome, weekly stipend. On the last weekend of the month, the Valspar would all travel to Lanaheim to get all of the updated rules and regulations, leaving the territories in a free for all.  "Papa," Dane asked, "what did you mean Estella was capable of great things?"

    "I truly believe she will accomplish all of her goals. She's not like you Dane, she won't settle for mediocrity. Matter of fact, you need to go get a real job. You've been my apprentice for seven years now. Speaking of Estella reminds me, we need to burn all of her documentation, so we can prove she never existed."

    "Why?" Fluora questioned.

    "We don't want the Valspar to track her back here. She is a witch. That means Lanaheim's finest bounty hunters will be tracking her down. After they discover you and Kyla aren't witches, they will know they have somebody else to hunt. We will do our best to lead them in the wrong direction, but this means we have a snake living amongst us. Trust no one, speak to no one, and all will be fine."

    "Estella was very adamant about returning with the amulet to save you," Kyla added.

    "She is very amative," Rose said, "I think the world may be too harsh for her to handle. I don't expect her to return."

    "No," George voiced, "she is tough and resilient too. While she may be very loving, she always has her guard up. She is a warrior like Dane."

    "If you insist, honey."

    "I do."

    "What order witch do you think she is? I think she is in the blue order," Kyla surmised.

    Everyone looked at each other and laughed, "green," they all said in unison.

    "Why do you think so lowly of her powers?" Kyla spoke, realizing her powers were far lesser than Estella's. 

    "They were weak enough to conceal for a year," Dane inserted.

    "There was once a great wizard who walked these lands," George started, "he put enchantments on many things that appear normal to the naked eye. This great wizard was Kingston Adonai. Legends tell he is responsible for the separation of the lands. These people believe continental drift to be false. He moved them in one act to prevent war from ever occurring. And then, hundreds of years later a black order wizard created vampires to plague the south. Now, Benethians reject magic more than any territory. We view it as a curse."

    "How do you know it wasn't a witch?" Fluora questioned. 

    "We can't know it wasn't a witch," George thought. "Rose, you're a teacher. You should know the name of this sorcerer."

    "Lanaheim has prohibited the teaching of anything that has to do with magic."

    "Only witches and wizards have access to all of this information?"

    "No, anyone can buy a book. But they are no longer in circulation. However, most people here just want to worry about how it is their family will survive." 

    The rest of breakfast fluttered away quickly as Fluora played the harp George traded for years ago. Dane left without saying anything to anyone and dragged the other body out to the chopping station and hacked off all of the limbs to feed to the skeedles that lived near the small waterfall near their farm. Business went on as usual, and the Porter family would survive another day.

Eight hundred years ago, the Witch Queen unleashed the Black Plague to wipe out humanity. A band of knights, including a widowed Kaulder, whose family had died in the plague, storm her lair and in the ensuing battle, Kaulder manages to defeat her. Before dying, the Witch Queen cursed Kaulder with eternal life.

In the present day, Kaulder prevents a teenage witch from unintentionally destroying an airplane with weather controlling runes stored in her luggage. Kaulder is revealed to be working as a witch hunter for the Order of the Axe and Cross, an organization which aims to keep the truce between humans and witches (allowing witches to live freely providing they do not use magic on humans) and either executes or imprisons the witches who break the law. He is aided by a priest called "Dolan", a tradition carried from the first priest who fought in the battle to destroy the Witch Queen.

The 36th Dolan tells Kaulder that he is retiring from his duties and has chosen a new Dolan for him. The former apparently dies in his sleep that night. Kaulder and the 37th Dolan deduce that 36 was murdered by a witch. While tracking down the witch, Kaulder finds traces of old dark magic, not seen since before he killed the Queen. It is revealed that 36 is not dead but, rather, under a dark magic spell that can only be broken if the witch that cast it is killed.

Using clues that 36 left behind, Kaulder goes to a witch bar, owned by Chloe and Miranda, to buy a memory spell to help him remember how he died and came back. Chloe eventually agrees to perform the spell. During the process of reliving Kaulder's memory, the bar is attacked by a witch, the same one who cursed the 36th Dolan. He later attacks Chloe at her apartment, though Kaulder saves her by pulling her through a portal into his own apartment. Dolan the 37th and Kaulder work together to determine the hostile witch's name - Baltasar Ketola, though he goes by the name Belial. Shortly after, Kaulder convinces Chloe to try to make him another memory potion, but since Belial destroyed her stash at her club, she needs to visit Miranda's warehouse. After it is discovered that the plant they are there for hasn't sprouted yet and the rest stolen by Belial, Kaulder and Chloe discover Miranda's body as Belial taunts them through Chloe's phone. Chloe immediately agrees to help Kaulder get what he needs to kill Belial.

In order to get the rare ingredient to create another memory spell, they visit another witch, Danique. However, Danique casts an endless memory spell on Kaulder, planning to entrap him in his dream forever. Chloe, revealed to be a dream-walker, is able to enter his trance and free his mind and the pair escape. Kaulder asks Chloe to enter his mind and pull out the memory. He discovers that, though the Queen's body burned to ash, the first Dolan chose to spare the Queen's heart, having realised Kaulder's immortality is tied to the Queen's heart, which if destroyed, would cause Kaulder to die. They deduce that the 36th Dolan was attacked because he knew of where the heart was hidden and was tortured into revealing its location. They also realize that Belial's real plan is to revive the Queen.

Leaving Chloe and the 37th Dolan behind, Kaulder goes to face Belial and the Queen to prevent her from returning. Though he kills Belial in a confrontation, Belial had already revived the Queen, who then steals back Kaulder's immortality. The 36th Dolan, who is recovering, encourages Kaulder to continue fighting.

The members of the Witch Council, who guard the Witches' Prison, are killed and the Queen plans to release another plague curse using the imprisoned witches as a coven, since even the Witch Queen isn't powerful enough to cast it alone. Using her dream walking ability, Chloe manages to kill one of the weakest prisoners, severing the connection of the Queen to the prisoners and temporarily stalling her plan. Kaulder fights the Queen, and appears close to killing her, until the 37th Dolan attacks him, revealing he is the non-magical son of witches who Kaulder killed when he was five years old. He asks the Queen to give him magical powers. She states that despite her power, "clay cannot be turned to gold" and kills him, before turning to Chloe and linking her mind to complete the connections between the witches for the plague curse to form again. Kaulder manages to summon lightning to his sword (using the weather runes he confiscated from the young witch on the plane) and throws his sword into the Queen, burning her to ash. Kaulder prepares to kill both the Queen's heart and himself, but Chloe dissuades him, stating that there were things in the darkness worse than the Witch Queen that he needs to continue fighting.

The 36th Dolan agrees to delay his retirement and stay by Kaulder's side. Chloe does as well, and the three form a new team, free from the Axe and Cross. The heartbeat of the Queen is heard within Kaulder's weapon stash in his apartment.

The modern world holds many secrets, the most astounding being that witches still live among us. Centuries ago, Kaulder managed to slay the all-powerful Witch Queen, decimating her followers in the process. Before her death, she cursed the valiant warrior with her own immortality, separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Her resurrection now threatens the survival of the human race as Kaulder, the only one of his kind remaining, faces her vengeful wrath

As Chime opened her eyes, she saw a town devoid of happiness, it's so gloomy that you would assume that someone important has died, she saw people running here and there like they were hurrying about something. 

"Hey hurry up, I heard that someone turned over a witch to the authorities and they're going use the guillotine to execute her in a few days time because burning the witch on fire strengthens her." A man said as he sprinted out of sight. 

"What? Burning witches? I though being a witch here makes you wield magic? Why is it that they are being killed by common people? Then I need to be careful since they'll get a reward if they know that I am a witch." Chime said as she continues to look around just to discover a burly man and a skinny man was staring at her with hunger in their eyes.

Then the skinny man approached me. "Hey, pretty lady it seems that you're new around this area, why don't you come with us? We'll show you around."  Then the burly man said as he licked his lips while having a perverted face. "Yeah, come with us little missy."

"No." Chime said as she bolted out of the sight of the skinny man and the burly man.

"Woah, that's a fast chic, and here we already saw a witch and let it get away. Ughh, why don't we just capture a lot of girls and cage the together, I heard from the church that the rate of the girls transforming into witches gradually increases when the months of demons becomes closer." The skinny man said while having a pained face knowing that he just let a one gold royal get away.

"But if we did that we'll be condemned by a lot of people if what we kidnap are innocent girls." The burly man said. "Come one man be tough, we won't survive in this dog eat dog world if we will be like pussies and back away from such money generating plan, We'll just have to take little girls that is not accompanied by anyone and lock them up in the barn at the edge of the town so that no one will find them." The skinny man said as he still remember the girl's beautiful face.

Chime bolted out immediately as soon as he understood what those two men were planning to do to her and she discovered that witches here are hated and discriminated by people, she still don't know why but as for now she went to find a place with a lot of people so that she can be at ease and not be kidnapped by a random hooligan. 

Chime followed the place where the people where running towards to and saw a woman that was hooded and her hands were tied behind her back. Her shabby gray garment was akin to a piece of rag. Her body was so emaciated that her ankles—the only part of her body which was exposed—seemed like they could be broken by pinching them. It was her faintly bulging chest which gave away that she was a female. She shivered terribly in the cold wind, yet she was observably trying hard to maintain her straight posture.  

She looked beside her and ask the woman who was also spectating with her "Who's the boy who's being accompanied by the old man?" Chime asked curiously. "That's his highness Prince Roland Wimbledon, you don't even know who he is? I have an advice for you little girl, you should stay away from the prince since he is a lecherous man and does nothing honorable worthy of his title, given your looks I can assure you that when he sees you, he'll do anything to get you to his bed as his plaything." 

There she saw the prince spacing out as he watched the girl. Then his attendant urged cautiously said "Your Highness?" 

The Prince glanced at the old man and snatched the formal written orders from the attendant's hands, tossed them on the ground, stretched his arms and said languidly, "I'm tired. The judgement shall be postponed to another day. Court's dismissed!"  

The members of the noble who sat with him seemed unsurprised, but a tall man wearing a suit of armor stood up and argued. "Your Highness, this isn't a joke! All witches should be put to death immediately upon being identified, or else, what can we do if other witches attempt to save her? The Church will get involved if they know of this."  

The Prince frowned and replied, "Why? Are you scared?" His voice, which was full of blatant mockery, sounded natural. "How could a man, whose arms were thicker than a normal person's body, be worried about witches breaking into our prison? Does he really think that witches are the mouthpiece of the Devil?" "Won't it be better to catch a few more witches?" 

As the man who's wearing an armor remained silent, The Prince signaled to his personal guards and left. The man in armor pondered for a moment before he decided to catchup with the guards and walked beside Prince Roland. The other nobles stood up and paid their respects to the prince, but Prince Roland could see the disdain and contempt in their eyes.  

The townspeople dispersed as the prince was out of sight, I also came with the lady who I asked earlier and asked her if there is any inn available in the town, she led me to an inn and I thanked her for bringing me to that place. 
I went inside and applied to work as a waitress so that I will have a place to stay and a stable income, fortunately even though I'm not considered pretty, I still have an acceptable face and can be considered cute. After working for 8 hours the owner of the inn showed me my room, I changed into my previous clothes and put the waitress clothes in the closet and lied down to rest because I'm so tired of what happened today, I didn't even noticed that someone was stalking me and was already outside of my door which wasn't locked because I forgot due to being tired of serving as a waitress.

When I woke up in the morning I saw noticed that I wasn't in my room and was inside a storage house with a lot of girls, when we woke up some screamed for help some even tried to bust open the door but what can a lot of delicate girls do to a massive door. In the corner I saw a girl lying in the corner crying. I approached her and tried asking "I'm Tekina Chimei what's your name?" 

The little girl wiped away her tears and look at me with pleading eyes

Just a normal teenage girl, playing a VRMMORPG that's featuring guns, In the game I was GOD, they called me the GOG(Goddess of Guns) I have even dominated Sinnon and Kirito in the game and that was 1v2, they were so shocked to discover that I was even playing with them and not serious at all.

Of course, she was only begging so she could discover the answer to her other quests. First was the Queen's secret. A part of her knew that this secret has something to do with the King. Moreover, there was also a secret about flowers.
"And if I don't?"
"Then… I will keep on assuming." Of course, she will keep on guessing until she finally has her answer.
"Then, feel free to tell me your guesses, I want to know if you really inherited your mother's brain." The King took another sip of his wine before he smiled. "To be honest, I have lost faith that you were like her. I mean… you were weak and you wanted attention. Your mother was the exact opposite. She was kind— too kind yet strong. Sometimes, I have to would lie in bed wondering what made you like that. You were supposed to grow up as a genius, someone feared, someone confident. But you— " he snorted. "You grow up weak and fragile." He didn't hide the disgust in his eyes. "Yet, your mother still adored you."
"So… that's it? You were actually jealous of your own daughter?" Unbelievable. Who would have thought that the king would have insecurities despite having everything? The man was not only handsome, but he was also rich and powerful. Someone feared and adored by many people. And yet… here he was… "So you wanted me dead because she cared about me?"
Again, a snort answered her question. "Tell me what you know about your mother."
"Siwa… A powerful witch who sacrificed a lot of— "
"LIES!" The King bellowed, his loud voice made her still for a few seconds. What was that reaction? Lucinia knew that the man wasn't faking his anger this time. Her words about Siwa being a murderer really made him furious. But why? "Those people wanted to blame her for everything that they did! The killings and murders! All those things… " He gritted his teeth, his hands tightened around the glass of blood. "They wanted everyone to think that it was Siwa's doing. Yet, all she wanted was for the Vampires to live peacefully with her kind! They called her a traitor, murderer, a dark witch! They cursed her and made frightening songs about her! Even now… Even you— her own child Is saying these filthy words towards her!"
Lucinia blinked… then she blinked again. So… the King actually liked her mother? Does this mean that her previous assumption about the King, keeping her mother because of a promise was real? Does this mean… she wasn't actually crazy? Lucinia gulped as she waited for her father to calm down. "Victoria told me that I might be her daughter." She said softly. This body's mother was actually a very unlucky character. She wanted to live peacefully with the vampires and ended up becoming labeled as a traitor. 
However, her eyes soon turned bright. She quickly lowered her head, hiding her expression. Isn't that something that a female lead would do? Try to unite every race and some other impossible bullshit? Does this mean her mother…. Was the new lead?
"Hmph! Those witches really thought that they could get away with everything. How foolish." He let out a low chuckle that almost immediately gave her goosebumps. Of course, the King would say something like this. After all, Zacharia and Kuzma were now working with the witches. While Prince Kuzma is doing this for Zacharia's fake principles, the latter is different. He is working for the King. This meant that Zacharia could destroy the witches from the inside.
Now that Lucinia thought about it, this king was really smart— scary smart. He is a master manipulator. He made Zacharia bring Prince Kuzma to the witches' side so he could fully gain the trust of those witches and easily betray them once the king asked him to. Such a cunning existence! The king was akin to the puppet master, while everyone around him was the puppet. He is just making everyone dance into his hands for his own personal reasons.
"So my mother— "
"She is not a murderer. She could have the ability to control blood, but she is definitely not someone like you."
"So… you don't like me because she adored me, and I am not someone like her." What a shallow reason. Lucinia fought the urge to roll her eyes. The King might be smart with his strategies but his emotional intelligence was very lacking. "I just want to confirm something…"
"Go ahead." The King leaned back and stared at her, confidence laced his gaze. "I know you can't hurt me. So you can quit trying. I can kill you in a few seconds and that is the only reason why I am still talking to you right now. Now go ahead and ask your questions. I will answer you until you are satisfied. Then I will kill you, and I will, of course, tell Mo Li that it was the Queen who did it. After all, she already showed some signs of aggressiveness against you when she saw you, right?"
Lucinia's lips thinned. Yes, this man was indeed very smart. He even calculated everything in advance, including using the Queen's outburst earlier. That would definitely convince Mo Li especially if rage had blinded him. "So, you wanted to use Zach against the witches.
