Saleen was, on that very day, a king and a grade-8 sorcerer. He was one who had command over both grade-9 professionals, as well as grade-9 elemental creatures. He was but an orphaned beggar when he was a child. In a place like Sikenqinya, there was no hope for having nobles even help to raise him to adulthood.
Viscount Gug was one of the most friendly and kind aristocrats among the nobles to be found within Sikenqinya, yet in Ceylon City, Saleen had still almost starved to death.
Saleen's fear of starvation was never truly gone. Ever since he got his hands on spatial equipment, he filled the equipment with food that would last him a lifetime. Even after he became a grade-8 sorcerer and his body evolved, thus making him have less need for food, his childhood trauma remained something unresolved.
Mages within magic towers all used specialized magic arrays to pick up external sounds in order to have a firm grasp of what was going on outside. Sounds filtered by such magic arrays did not possess offensive abilities, so such equipment was standard equipment in every magic tower. The sounds emanating from the face at the angel of fear's torso however, gave even someone like Saleen a headache despite him being used to debuffs.
Saleen cut off the connection between the tower and the outside world without hesitation, yet the frustrating noise refused to leave his head. He tried using Mental Shock techniques to dispel the noise, but the attempt proved useless.
Saleen then tried meditating, but soon found that he failed to enter a meditative state no matter how hard he tried. That was bad news. A mage who was not able to meditate was no mage at all. Saleen frowned as he took out his family badge, and cast a grade-0 spell.
The family badge worked as it always did, absorbing his magic chords and mental powers. All debuffs came piling onto him, yet a smile spread over his face. The noise disappeared right away after he used the badge.
"Darn angel of fear!" The noise was erased from his mind, but the unsavory past that he was forced to remember was not something he was able to just shut out. Saleen felt hate for the first time at a monster. "This thing must die! I don't care if my broken jade can control this angel of fear, I'm not keeping this thing."
"Do you really think you can really shut me out, by just isolating the sound?" the angel of fear circled around the divine tree magic tower. The long blade on her shoulder shimmered with black aura like it was breathing, making the blade seem like it was contracting.
Saleen saw the lips of the angel of fear moving, but he was unable to hear what she was saying. There was no doubt that her voice made it inside the tower. Saleen continued his conversation with the angel of fear, "I understand where your powers come from. A simple source, really. Powers refined using the fear in every living being. Such powers are but a derivation of mental magic. Any professional above your level would be able to take you down easily. You are but a monster filled with high-level materials. Stick around if you dare. By the time I'm done crafting your body, I will make your soul suffer until the end of time!"
The angel of fear did not take Saleen's threats to heart. The equipment left behind by the gods had a lot of weaknesses to exploit. She she would be able to break through it within just two or three days.
Saleen and the angel of fear were in a deadlock with each other. His divine tree magic tower absorbed the power of earth element, rendering it nigh-indestructible. Even if there were loopholes the angel of fear would not be able to break through it any time soon. That was due to the level difference in terms of materials used.
The massive statues guarding the entrance stood silently before the abyss. They were no true elemental creatures; they were simply constructed puppets created by modeling them after the stone statue soldiers. The constructed puppets did not attack any further after kicking the pan's turtle alchemical boat away.
There were hardly any creatures nearby. Any who would have come would have been swiftly killed by either magic arrays, the single-horned white whales, or the puppets. Normal pan's turtles would have been torn apart after taking that one kick.
Within the pan's turtle alchemical boat, that was then lodged within the rock wall, the winged skeleton and Nicholas were depressed after finding themselves stuck. Escape was almost impossible. The constructed puppet then came up and delivered a flurry of punches and kicks to the ship, lodging the ship tight into the wall. The cave, that had collapsed from the collision between the ship and the rocks, was also shut tight by some powerful force.
It was simply impossible for those trapped inside the ship to get out by using teleportation arrays.
The ship was the winged skeleton's equipment. While it was possible for him to simply put it away, doing so would force them out into the water. Nicholas was unable to bear the pressure of the seawater for long. His Scepter of the Fallen was unable to sustain him for long in such an environment.
There were still many spirits on the ship, but they could be stored with the Green Spirit Gem. The twenty-four ancient warriors had little to worry about when it came to surviving underwater.
Soldier laid out the current situation with Nicholas, and Nicholas replied, "Even if you were to head out right now, do you think you'd have any chance against those statues guarding the cave?"
"I could do something if it were just one of them. I have command over the twenty-four ancient warriors. The statues should be grade-10 creatures of some sort. Killing one should definitely be no problem if all twenty-four warriors were to lay siege on it," the winged skeleton did not hide anything from Nicholas. A massive statue standing at more than two-hundred yards was something that would take them a while to take down if they were to simply keep cutting at it. Worse still, the statues packed quite a powerful punch.
"It didn't seem to do anything after our lord burst through," Nicholas said.
"You want to follow?"
"Do you really think it would better to just sit here and wait?", Nicholas asked the winged skeleton, surprised.
"We should at least leave a permanent magic coordinate, or master will not be able to find his way back here," Soldier said, and put the entire ship away. He had been trapped by a grade-9 sorcerer using Sigh of the Earth before. That time however, there was no damage on the pan's turtle alchemical boat when they just put it away. The exterior of the ship did not actually stick into the walls.
Nicholas was experiencing such an eerie happening for the first time in his life. His body left the hold of the ship and landed on the ground, making even a grade-9 professional like him look rather confused and awkward.
The twenty-four ancient warriors landed on the ground without problem, and surrounded them both. The massive constructed puppet's kick was fast and ferocious. It was also buffed as a magical attack. The pan's turtle alchemical boat was rendered stuck into the cliffs more than ten yards deep.
As the exit was completely blocked, and the cave made by the ship crashing into cliff was about as big as the ship itself, there was little seawater to be found beneath their feet. Outside the cliff, the constructed puppets were only about one-hundred yards away.
Within such a distance, even dormant constructed puppets would be able to detect movements around the cave. Soldier summoned some ghouls and had them spew sticky fluids, corroding the rocks blocking their way slowly.
The ghouls were only grade-4 creatures. That hardly made them worth notice by the constructed puppets. They would definitely not trigger the magic array within the puppets. Such creatures would not even be able to make it that far into the cave in the first place. The path leading to the abyss had many twists and turns. The passages would have barred any entrance for creatures below grade-9, as they would simply end up being killed by the magic arrays within.
The soul flames of the ghouls were only able to remain intact thanks to the help of the winged skeleton.
The winged skeleton was able to sense the incredible powers reverberating within the cave after leaving the ship. It was a power infused within the ground of the ocean floor, which was extracted by the magic arrays humans laid, that would never run dry.
It was fortunate for them that the rocks were not some strong magic material. The sticky fluids spewed by the grade-4 ghouls quickly ate away at the rocks inch by inch. Such minute movements had indeed gone unnoticed by the constructed puppets.
They were only able to make a hole big enough to fit two people at a time on the ten yard thick rock, after the winged skeleton directed the ghouls for about four hours. The winged skeleton had even needed to cast a magic barrier when their way was almost carved out, to keep seawater from gushing in.
The pressure from the seawater there was immense. If the seawater had indeed gushed into the sealed hole, not only would Nicholas have been unable to withstand the impact, the resulting boom would definitely have attracted the attention of the constructed puppets outside.
After setting the barrier in place the winged skeleton had the ancient warriors chip away on the walls slowly with their knives. It was to make their final exist. There were many kinds of magic barriers. Barriers conjured using death magic allowed for one side to be passed. That kept the seawater out while enabling them to still pass through the barrier. Two ancient warriors took their spears and made their way out.
Soldier came out last. Seeing the lack of reaction from the massive constructed puppets one-hundred yards away, the winged skeleton was rather pleased with himself. Nicholas cast a buffing divine spell on himself: Light of Salvation.
As he was a fallen holy master, the spell did not bring about the dazzling brilliance which the spell was known for when cast by adherents of the Lord of Glory. His version rendered him covered by pitch black darkness instead.
The twenty-four ancient warriors were not things that could be put away. They were something classified to be between living beings and spirits. Even Soldier did not know why there were no soul flames within the ancient warriors. Common sense said that the ancient warriors should have been dead a very long time ago.
Nicholas felt secure in having so many grade-9 warriors around him. He took the Scepter of the Fallen and passed through the magic barrier, making his way out of the cave.
Being enveloped by the Light of Salvation, the immense pressure from the seawater hardly impeded his movements. He did a rough calculation and determined that one such divine spell would have lasted for only an hour under such depths.
The Light of Salvation was a grade-9 divine spell, and a powerful defensive divine spell at that. Divine Protection could no longer be used in his case, as that spell was the only power that fallen holy masters were unable to steal. Nicholas was glad that he continued training with the Light of Salvation. It was seemingly a sign that he was destined to betray the gods.
Nicholas reminded himself that it was not the time for reminiscing. The winged skeleton behind him spread his bone wings and charged out. He carried a battle axe with him. The magic arrays resembling human eyes on its sides conjured black Light of Spirits. That time, the winged skeleton had intended to use purely physical attack spells.
It was Death Break!
Soldier moved incredibly fast. His bone wings seemed like fish fins in the water, propelling his movements. Twenty-four ancient warriors tailed right behind him. Their twenty-four spears were pointed unanimously at the massive constructed puppet about one-hundred yards away.
With the Winged Skull above, and the ancient warriors below acting without warning, Nicholas was briefly at a loss of what to do. He had only been quick enough to buff the winged skeleton with a lesser prophecy spell in time: the Immunity from Death spell.


It is said that the true meaning of a mage is to fully understand the truth of the world. A mage named Saleen Metatrin goes on many missions as a normal mage to try and change his fate. This in turn led to many problems and adventures.

"Mother, when are you coming with me to the outside world?" asked the angel one day.

Catherine stared at him. "What is it about the outside world that you wanted me to leave this cave for?"

"You belong to the outside world, Mother. You don't belong here in your imaginary world. Everything here is fake! It's all a by-product of your imagination. The lake, the trees, flower, and even the whole cave only exist in your world, they only exist in your mind. Everything here is perfect, just the way you imagined it to be. Just the way your mind created them perfectly..."

"How can you say so? You're lying!" she said indignantly.

"No Mother! I'm telling you the truth! Just try to focus and concentrate with your mind, make the trees and flowers disappear, try it right now! And you will know I'm telling the truth," the angel was urging her to face reality.

"Okay, I will try, so that you can shut up!" she finally relented. She closed her eyes and began trying to erase the trees and flowers from her mind.

The winged creature was looking at her mother with great anticipation in his green-blue eyes.

A few minutes later...she finally opened her eyes...

To her utter shocked and heartbreak, the flowers and the trees disappeared, only the enchanting lake remains on the same spot.

"Oh no! Where are they---all gone?" she asked feeling wretched inside.

"See, Mother---? This is what I been telling you about. You have the power to delete everything that exists in your imaginary world. Now, try to erase the lake and the cave inside your mind. Do it now, Mother!" the winged creature continues pressing her on.

This time, Catherine was hesitating to obey the angel's command. "No! I can't do it! My home will be gone if the cave is gone! I don't know where to live," she cried.

The winged creature saw the hesitation in her eyes. "Just do it, Mother! If you won't do it, you never will! Just try it, you can always put everything back the way they are."

"Huh? I can make the trees and flowers appear again?" she asked in astonishment.

"Yes you can, because everything exist only in your mind, try it!" he persuaded her.

Catherine closed her eyes and began concentrating again. She eliminated the enchanted lake and the cave in her mind.

When she opened her eyes, to her horror, the lake and the cave already disappeared, in place is nothingness, everything she sees around her was pitch black darkness.

"A-angel... w-where... a-are... y-you?" she stammered and was struggling to adjust to the black surrounding.

"I'm here, Mother!" said the tiny voice.

The winged creature suddenly appeared from nowhere. Bringing heavenly light to the darkness.

"Thank God, you're here!" she exclaimed, feeling grateful for his presence, he was the only light in the middle of the darkness.

"Don't be afraid, Mother. I will keep you company here. This is your real-world mother, you surrounded yourself with darkness until your mind decided to create your imaginary world complete with a beautiful lake, colorful flowers, trees and the cave you call home to make yourself feel better. Then you become accustomed to your near-perfect imaginary world and doesn't want to face your reality anymore," explained the winged creature.

"...and w-what is my reality?" she asked.

"You will find out soon enough. If we exited this darkness you surrounded yourself with, you will remember everything that you've been trying to forget."

No! her mind was screaming, she's not ready yet to face the reality of her past. She wants everything back to normal, she wants her cave, her enchanted lake, her beautiful flowers, and trees, exist again! She closed her eyes and focus to wield back everything she deleted in her mind.

After projecting everything in her mind...

She slowly opened her eyes and behold!

The enchanted lake, the colorful flowers, the trees and the cave itself existed again in her world and the darkness is gone. A triumphant smile re-appeared in her lips.

"Yes, I did it again!" she was thrilled with her powerful imaginative mind.

"What you feel right now, Mother?"

"I'm feeling good. I don't like darkness. I like the current surrounding better," she responded.

"The world outside is much more interesting than this cave, Mother," said the angel. "Besides, you will see Father soon, he's been waiting for you to come back to him..."

"I'm not interested to see your father! Let's not talk about him!" her face suddenly turns cold.

The winged creature stared hard at her face. "Y-you remember my father now?" he asked.

Catherine didn't answer. Instead, she sauntered towards the lake and proceed to swim and enjoy the sparkling water.

"Come here little one! Swim with me," she invited the angel.

"Just enjoy the water, Mother. I will stay here and watch over you," said the winged creature.

Fifteen minutes later...

Getting tired of swimming, Catherine get out of the lake and commanded the winged creature to land on her palm. "Come here, I want to ask you something...," she said.

"What is it, Mother?" he asked eagerly, his eyes were gleaming with curiosity.

"If...If I will come with you to the outside world, can I still come back here? Just in case I don't like what I'm going to remember about my past?" she asked.

The winged creature shook his head. "I'm sorry, Mother. Once you get out of this parallel universe you created yourself, this place will no longer exist. You can never go back here," he explained.

"But I was able to create all these fake things, which means I can do it again if I wanted to!" she reasoned with him.

"Dunno Mother, much better if you just forget your world here and move on with your life in the outside world," he commented wryly.

Catherine was entertaining the idea that if she will finally remember her past and she doesn't like it, she will know for sure how to go back to this parallel universe she created herself.

"You can go now," she said softly. "I want to be alone for a while. Come back tomorrow, you will know my decision if I'm willing to leave this place or not," she said.

The winged creature was about to fly away...

"Wait...If I decided to stay here forever, what will be the consequence?" she asked.

"I will die, Mother. Because during the 8 months of your pregnancy, you will suddenly suffer high blood pressure, the doctors will prescribe you medicines for your high blood pressure that will poison me inside your womb. Because your zombie body in the outside world has been eating a lot and you are getting fatter as a pig and then all types of complications will come to your pregnancy later, that is why you have to come with me into the outside world as early as possible to prevent the bad things to happen!" there was an urgency in his voice.

Catherine's eyes registered horror, she felt alarmed.

Although she was not sure if this creature were telling her lies or truth, the thought of her baby growing inside her womb is about to die soon, it makes her feel so sad.

"I have another question," she was contemplating now of the impact of her decisions. "If I will leave this place, will I remember anything that happened here? Will I remember you?"

The winged creature shook his head. "I'm not sure. There is a possibility that everything you created here, and everything that existed here may no longer appear in your world outside. But, you will remember everything that happened to you before you come here, that is for sure," explained the creature.

"Okay. I now understood everything," said Catherine.

"I will go now, Mother. See you tomorrow!" the winged creature spreads his wings and flew towards the entrance of the cave.

{COMPLETED} The twin sisters, Catherine and Caroline, robbed an old ancestral house out of  pressing necessity. Unfortunately they were caught empty handed by the owner himself and his bodyguards.

Beirut tugged at his beard, coughing twice. “After I told them, they were extremely excited. They simply couldn’t wait, so they decided to stay in your estate, so that they could immediately come find you once you returned. Without a quiet hall.

Gislason and the Vermillion Bird Matriarch were both seated. The White Tiger Patriarch was frowning and pacing back and forth, while the Black Tortoise Patriarch was standing at the doorway, anxiousness in his eyes.

“Elder Brother, when will Linley return?” The Black Tortoise Patriarch couldn’t help but turn and speak in a deep, booming voice.

“Sovereigns move extremely quickly. Based on my calculations, it should be soon. Stop standing there at the doorway and sit down. Calm down and wait patiently.” Gislason urged.

“How can I possibly sit down at a time like this?” The Black Tortoise Patriarch had a hint of impatience on his face. Clearly, he was quite frustrated and uneasy.

The Vermillion Bird Matriarch, seated next to Gislason, let out a helpless chuckle. “Elder Brother, stop criticizing Third Brother. Even I, sitting here, don’t feel calm in the slightest. Sovereigns are extremely fast, and so today he will definitely return. I wonder if Linley was able to succeed or not.”

“Lord Beirut said it himself.” Gislason said. “Given Lord Beirut’s temperament…would he say something he wasn’t confident of?”

“Right.” The others all acknowledged this.

Despite that, however, the four clan leaders still felt nervousness in their hearts.

“Patriarch, Patriarch.” Right at this moment, a figure flew over at high speed.

“Whoosh!”

How could it be that his power was ten times greater than what we predicted it to be? The Divine Light Plane has never won ten consecutive rounds in the Planar Wars.”

“Unless…Augusta has a Sovereign clone.” This was Beirut’s judgment.

Linley pondered for a long time, but could only come to this conclusion as well.

But this seemed to be impossible.

“The chances are quite low.” Linley shook his head. “I’ve met more than sixty Sovereigns by now. Not a single one of them shares the same aura as the Chief Sovereign of Light. If the Chief Sovereign of Light had a Sovereign clone, how could he possibly manage to hide it from the other Chief Sovereigns? The Chief Sovereigns of Death and Destruction were born with the creation of the planes themselves. Even if others might be fooled, those two would not.”

Beirut nodded as well.

What, exactly, was the reason for the Chief Sovereign of Light to be more than ten times as powerful as they had predicted?

“Linley!” A frantic voice rang out.

Linley turned to look. He saw four streaks of light surge forward, then solidify into four figures. It was Gislason and the other three clan leaders. The stable, reliable Gislason; the grim, callous White Tiger Patriarch; the wise, intelligent Vermillion Bird Matriarch; the taciturn, reserved Black Tortoise Patriarch. All of them were staring towards Linley with blazing, eager eyes.

“Has the Chief Sovereign of Light been killed?” The Vermillion Bird Matriarch couldn’t help but ask.

Linley and Beirut shared a glance, and then Linley laughed bitterly. “Gislason, I’ve disappointed you. I wasn’t able to kill Augusta!”

Linley didn’t explain further.

Gislason and the other three were stunned. And then, they let out forlorn, awkward smiles.

“Linley.” Gislason bowed. “I know that for Lord Beirut to tell us about it meant that he had felt a certain degree of confidence. This time was a failure…we very much would like to know, Lord Linley, will you kill the Chief Sovereign of Light in the future?” The other three clan leaders immediately looked towards Linley.

Linley’s divine sense stretched across the entire Skyrite Mountains. Given the power of his divine sense, if there were any other Sovereigns watching, they wouldn’t be able to avoid drawing his attention.

“I’m uncertain as to exactly when I will kill him. But once I have enough power, I will.” Linley said solemnly.

Gislason and the other three looked at each other, then smiled gratefully towards Linley.

“Thank you.” The four all bowed slightly.

“No need. I’m a member of the Four Divine Beasts clan as well, after all.” Linley let out a low sigh. Actually, the grateful look in the eyes of Gislason and the others only made him feel even guiltier. After all, he hadn’t killed Augusta yet.

“Alright.” Beirut laughed. “The four of you can go back and rest. The Four Divine Beasts clan has been able to wait twenty thousand years for vengeance; there’s no need to be impatient now.” Beirut could sense that things were a bit awkward right now between the four clan leaders, himself, and Linley. It was best to have them leave for now.

Gislason and the other three immediately left.

“This time…ugh.” Beirut laughed self-mockingly. “Their awkwardness just now…that was completely my doing.”

“It isn’t your fault. After all, I still have yet to understand how the Chief Sovereign of Light could have been more than ten times as powerful as we had anticipated. What caused this?” Linley suddenly frowned. “Grandpa Beirut, I also discovered two particularly special things. The first is that Augusta’s physical strength is very powerful. Although it is inferior to mine, he’s still very powerful. Secondly, Augusta’s soul defense is also very powerful.”

Augusta had been struck by Linley’s ‘Sword Intent’, but his soul didn’t seem react to it at all.

Beirut, hearing this, felt puzzled as well.

“If we can’t figure it out, we might as well stop thinking about it.” Linley changed the subject. “Grandpa Beirut. What I’m worried the most about is my mother! Even if his mother was standing right in front of him, he probably wouldn’t recognize her.

“This is quite troublesome.” Beirut let out a helpless laugh. “When your mother was alive, I swept her with my divine sense. Only, why would I pay any particular attention to an ordinary mortal? Thus, I have no memories of your mother’s soul aura.”

“Grandpa Beirut.” Linley said, worried. “I know that the Angels are divided into Two-Winged Angels, Four-Winged Angels, and even Twelve-Winged Angels. What sort of angel should my mother be?”

Linley was worried that his mother was already dead.

It must be understood that most low-level Angels were sent to descend upon material planes. Those low-level Angels could die at any time.

“What sort of Angel is your mother? Let me ask you this, when your mother’s soul was offered to the Sovereign, did the Radiant Church receive any sort of reward?” Beirut suddenly asked.

“They did.” Linley’s eyes lit up, and he hurriedly said, “Based on what I heard, the Radiant Church itself received an astronomical reward. Even King Clayde, the one who offered my mother to the Radiant Church, was rewarded by having his strength increased from the eighth rank to the ninth rank.”

“Oh.” Beirut’s eyes lit up, and he immediately laughed. “Linley, Angels are divided into six ranks. The lower three ranks are all Saints, while the higher three ranks are Deities. Generally speaking, they are determined by the purity of the offered soul. Only when a church in a material plane offers a soul that can become a Deity will it be rewarded.”

Linley couldn’t help but nod.

Right. Angels were numerous beyond measure. If the offered soul could only become a Saint, of course there wouldn’t be any reward.

“But the size of the rewards are also determined by the purity of the soul. Generally speaking, Eight-Winged Angels are equivalent to Demigods. Demigods, being the weakest type of Deities, naturally won’t result in significant rewards. At most, the rewards would simply be encouraging in nature. Souls that are able to be transformed into Ten-Winged Angels will result in slightly better rewards. After all, Gods aren’t anything either.”

Linley nodded. The number of Demigods and Gods the Infernal Realm had was simply countless.

“Actually, the most powerful of Angels are the Twelve-Winged Angels, and every single one of them is extremely powerful, generally at the Seven Star Fiend level!” Beirut said solemnly.

“What?!” Linley couldn’t help but cry out in shock.

Highgods didn’t really matter, but Seven Star Fiends and ordinary Highgods were completely on different levels.

“How is it that Twelve-Winged Angels are so powerful?” Linley didn’t understand.

Beirut laughed. “I only learned this when chatting with the Bloodridge Sovereign, Boson. Do you know that Angels are born in the Angelic Resurrection Pools?”

“I’ve heard of it.” Linley said hurriedly. Just recently, when chatting with Augusta, Linley had heard of the Angelic Resurrection Pools.

“There are a total of 128 Angelic Resurrection Pools. They are controlled by and divided up amongst the seven Sovereigns of the Divine Light Plane. The Chief Sovereign holds 64 of them by himself. The two Intermediate Sovereigns control 16 each. The four Lesser Sovereigns control 8.” Beirut explained carefully. “Angels are actually a human-shaped weapon. Their souls, after being reborn through the ‘Angelic Resurrection Plane’, will not have any of their past memories. In addition, they will be absolutely loyal to the Sovereigns of Light! They won’t feel any selfishness at all.”

Linley nodded slightly.

“After the transformation, they will no longer be able to gain any insights into the Laws, nor be able to increase their level of understanding.” Beirut sighed. “If, after the transformation, they are Saint-level Angels, then they will forever be Saint-level Angels.”

“They are unable to gain any insights, and so naturally, the profound mysteries they use to attack do not come from their own insights.” Beirut said. “Every single Angelic Resurrection Pool is linked to the soul of its Sovereign. The Sovereigns will infuse the Angelic Resurrection Pool with some of their own powerful attacks. Only, there are different levels of power for each Angelic Resurrection Pool. Low level Angelic Resurrection Pools can only contain low-level techniques, and so the Angels they produce are weak Angels.”

“The high-level Angelic Resurrection Pools, however, contain attacks that generally involve the fusion of four or five profound mysteries, because that is the sort of attack which Sovereigns themselves use!” Beirut explained, “Thus, the Angels birthed from the high level Angelic Resurrection Pools, the Twelve-Winged Angels, generally will have supreme attacks that involve the fusion of four or even five profound mysteries!”

Linley now understood.

No wonder every single Twelve-Winged Angel was so powerful! It was because they didn’t have to gain any insights; they were born understanding those powerful attacks.

“The Twelve-Winged Angels are very powerful. In the past, when I publicized the existence of the Necropolis of the Gods, I attracted quite a few people, amongst which included Seven Star Fiends of the Infernal Realm and even Twelve-Winged Angels. I imagine that the Twelve-Winged Angels also wanted to seize a Sovereign artifact. After all, the number of Sovereign artifacts which the Sovereign can bestow is limited.”

Beirut sighed, “In that battle, the power which the Twelve-Winged Angels display was absolutely not inferior to that of the Seven Star Fiends!”

“The Angelic Resurrection Pool. How terrifying. It is actually able to directly produce Twelve-Winged Angels that are no weaker than Seven Star Fiends.” Linley sighed.

“It isn’t that simple. The conditions necessary for a soul to be able to support the energy of a Twelve-Winged Angel are extremely stringent! The creation of every single Twelve-Winged Angel is fairly difficult, and thus if a material plane is able to offer a soul that is capable of becoming a Twelve-Winged Angel, the offering church will naturally receive an enormous reward.”

Beirut sighed as he spoke. “The Radiant Church was so happy as to increase the King of Fenlai’s power! I imagine…your mother’s soul must have been truly pure. The type of Angel she was reborn as should be the most powerful type, a Twelve-Winged Angel!”

Malam itu, Linley makan malam di aula utama istana gubernur.
"Keane, Jenne. Ayo keluar sebentar." Setelah selesai makan malam, Linley memanggil mereka, lalu berjalan keluar dari aula utama ke kebun belakang yang sepi.
Keane dan Jenne saling pandang, lalu mengikuti Linley ke kebun juga.
Kebun di malam hari sangat damai dan sepi. Melihat Jenne dan Keane, Linley tersenyum. "Jenne, Keane, ada sesuatu yang harus kuberitahu."
Keane dan Jenne menatap Linley, bingung.
"Radiant Church dan aku memiliki kebencian yang mendalam di antara kita. Kami tidak akan berhenti sampai salah satu dari kita hancur."
Kata-kata dari Linley ini langsung mengejutkan Jenne dan Keane. Mereka tahu bahwa Linley bukan orang biasa, tapi mereka tidak tahu bahwa dia benar-benar menentang Radiant Church.
Radiant Church tanpa diragukan lagi, adalah kesatuan yang sangat besar.

Ini bukanlah sebuah rahasia. Sama sekali tidak aneh bagi Radiant Church untuk mengetahui hal ini.
"Aku menduga bahwa Radiant Church telah menyembunyikan beberapa orang di dalam Kota Cerre." Linley berkata dengan santai.
Dari saat dia memutuskan untuk datang ke kota prefektur Cerre, Linley sudah membuat rencana tertentu.
Stehle itu telah bertarung dengannya sebelumnya. Setelah pertarungan itu, Radiant Church pasti menyadari betapa berbahayanya Linley bagi mereka. Jika mereka tidak segera mengirim orang untuk membunuhnya sesegera mungkin, maka Radiant Church benar-benar adalah sekumpulan orang bodoh.
"Lalu apa yang harus kita lakukan?" Keane dan Jenne agak bingung.
"Jenne, pertama-tama, aku ingin bertanya kepadamu. Apakah kamu masih ingin mengikutiku?" Linley menatap Jenne.
Jenne mengangguk tanpa ragu.
Linley mengangguk sedikit. "Aku khawatir di dalam istana milikmu, Radiant Church juga memiliki mata-mata di sini. Karena itu yang ingin aku sampaikan kepada kalian... bahwa aku berencana untuk meninggalkan kota prefektur Cerre malam ini."
"Apa?" Jenne menatap Linley dengan heran. "Kakak Ley, kamu berencana untuk pergi sendiri?"
"Jangan khawatir. Aku hanya akan keluar duluan sebelum kamu. Aku akan menuju ke ibukota daerah Basil dulu. Aku akan tinggal di Nile [Nai'er] Hotel di sisi timur kota. Bila waktunya tiba, kalian bisa menemukanku di sana." Linley sangat percaya diri dengan kemampuannya untuk berurusan dengan para petarung Radiant Church.
Namun, dia tidak bisa membawa Jenne dan Keane bersamanya.
Jika dia membawa sekelompok besar orang, dia akan sama saja dengan melukai Jenne dan Keane.
"Nile Hotel di timur kota. Ini adalah hotel yang sangat terkenal. Aku tahu di mana tempatnya." Keane mengangguk. Selama lima tahun ini, dia telah melakukan beberapa kunjungan ke ibukota daerah tersebut.
Linley telah membuat rencana ini sejak lama.
Saat ini, apakah dia akan membunuh pasukan Radiant Church atau tidak bukanlah hal yang penting. Bagaimanapun, membunuh orang-orang itu tidak membuat perbedaan besar bagi Radiant Church.

"Segera?" Jenne dan Keane kaget.
"Segera. Dengan begitu, orang-orang Radiant Church tidak akan tahu." Linley tertawa kecil, lalu berubah menjadi bayangan hitam, terbang di udara dan menghilang dari kebun belakang.
Pada saat yang sama, Blackcloud Panther, Haeru, serta Bebe juga berangkat dengan kecepatan tinggi.
Tiga bayangan hitam melintas di atas tembok Kota Cerre yang tingginya dua puluh meter, dengan mudah menyeberang ke sisi lain. Meskipun dinding kota berguna untuk menghadang petarung biasa, bagi petarung di tingkat seperti Linley saat ini, mereka tidak lebih dari pemberhentian pintu yang cukup tinggi.
Menunggang di punggung Haeru, angin malam melolong melewati Linley.
"Aku telah menyadari bahwa aku lebih menyukai perasaan bepergian saat malam hari." Merasakan angin kencang bertiup di wajahnya, Linley merasa sangat segar kembali.
Cahaya bulan seakan membuat dunia tertutup lapisan kabut tipis, membuat segala sesuatunya tampak begitu seperti mimpi.
Malam ini, ada orang-orang yang mengendarai kuda dengan kecepatan tinggi menuju ke tempat lain juga. Ini adalah orang-orang yang bergegas menuju Lyndin untuk memberinya kabar baik. Namun, jarak tempuhnya lebih dari seratus kilometer dari kota prefektur Cerre sampai ke kota Lyndin tinggal.
Linley baru tiba di kota prefektur Cerre pada senja. Pengawas kota prefektur Cerre hanya menerima kabar tersebut sekitar pukul 6 malam. Pada saat dia mengirim seseorang keluar, sudah pukul 7.
Sekitar pukul 8 malam, Linley telah meninggalkan kota prefektur Cerre.
Pada saat ini, pembawa pesan itu masih di jalan. Menjelang pukul 9, utusan tersebut akhirnya berhasil sampai di kota tempat Lyndin dan yang lainnya tinggal. Kota itu dinyalakan oleh api. Orang miskin yang telah ditiup oleh angin dingin bulan November akhirnya merasakan sedikit kehangatan.
"Nona Lyndin." Si pembawa pesan tiba di kediaman Lyndin. Melihat Lyndin di ambang pintu, dia langsung melompat dari kudanya. "Nona Lyndin, sesuatu yang penting telah terjadi. Kami sudah mengetahui bahwa Linley telah tiba di kota prefektur Cerre."
Mata Lyndin, yang tengah berdiri di sana dengan dingin, tiba-tiba bersinar.
"Linley?" Lyndin kaget sekaligus gembira.
Dia telah menunggu selama lima tahun penuh, sampai mati rasa. Dan malam ini, laporan ini muncul entah dari mana.
"Syke [Sai'ke], Syke! Kalian semua, keluar." Suara dingin Lyndin terdengar beberapa kali, dan lima Angel lainnya segera bergegas mendekat.
Keenam Angel ini semua memakai tubuh manusia, dan dengan demikian kekuatan mereka terbatas pada seorang Warrior tingkat kesembilan.
Tapi inti mereka tetap milik para Angel.
Mereka pasti akan mematuhi perintah. Demi kejayaan tuannya, mereka rela mengorbankan nyawa mereka setiap saat.
Setelah mendengar bahwa ada berita tentang kembalinya Linley ke kota prefektur Cerre, lima Angel lainnya juga girang. Misi mereka adalah untuk membunuh Linley.
"Ayo pergi, kita segera meluncur." Lyndin segera memerintahkan.
"Baik." Lima lainnya sama sekali tidak ragu.
Lyndin dan yang lainnya tidak memperdulikan si pembawa pesan. Keenamnya, mengandalkan kaki mereka, langsung mulai melaju menuju arah kota prefektur Cerre. Sebagai petarung tingkat kesembilan, tanpa diragukan, kecepatan yang bisa mereka capai jauh lebih cepat daripada kuda.
Esok paginya.
Dalam mansion yang sangat biasa di kota prefektur Cerre. Malam sebelumnya, Lyndin dan orang-orangnya telah tinggal di sini setelah sampai di kota prefektur Cerre.
"Apa? Linley menghilang?" Lyndin menatap dingin pada pria berjubah putih di depannya.
Pria berjubah putih itu langsung berkata, "Nona Lyndin, orang-orang yang kami tempatkan di dalam istana gubernur kota juga tidak tahu. Mereka baru tahu pagi ini bahwa Linley dan dua magical beastnya lenyap. Kemungkinan besar, mereka telah meninggalkan kota prefektur Cerre."
"Bam!"
Lyndin dengan marah memukulkan sebuah tinju ke meja batu di depannya, menghancurkannya menjadi potongan-potongan kecil. Lima Angel lainnya sangat marah juga.
Keenamnya telah menghabiskan lebih dari lima tahun di sini. Mereka baru saja menerima kabar kedatangan Linley, tapi kemudian dalam sekejap mata, dia telah menghilang lagi.
Pria berjubah putih itu agak gugup sekarang. Dia tahu bahwa keenam orang di depannya sangatlah kuat. Bahkan pengawas Northwest Administrative Province pun harus mematuhi perintah keenam orang ini.
Namun, pria berjubah putih itu tidak tahu bahwa keenamnya benar-benar Angel.
Baru pada saat sebelum kematian, saat Lyndin dan yang lainnya memilih untuk mengeluarkan sepenuhnya, kekuatan sejati mereka sebagai Angel akan terlihat.
"Selidiki. Pergi selidiki. Cari tahu ke mana Linley telah pergi. Juga... aktifkan setiap sumber yang ada di seluruh Northwest Administrative Province. Kita harus menemukan Linley. Linley pasti berada di suatu tempat di dalam daerah ini." Lyndin berkata dengan suara dingin dan mematikan.
"Baik." Pria berjubah putih itu langsung setuju.
Mereka tidak bisa menemukan Linley selama lima tahun. Lyndin bahkan mulai khawatir jika Linley mungkin telah meninggalkan Kekaisaran O'Brien. Lagipula, mengingat mereka tidak menemukan jejaknya, tidak mungkin mereka bisa yakin dimana dia sebenarnya berada.
Tapi setidaknya sekarang mereka tahu pasti bahwa Linley berada di Northwest Administrative Province.
Pada saat Lyndin merasa geram pada ketidakberdayaannya pada pagi ketiga, mereka menerima kabar dari ibukota daerah Basil.
"Linley telah muncul di ibukota daerah Basil."
Begitu mereka menerima kabar ini, rekan-rekan Lyndin yang lain menjadi bersemangat.
"Kapten, haruskah kita berangkat sekarang?" Kelima orang itu menatap Lyndin penuh harap. Lyndin adalah kapten pasukan mereka. Sebenarnya, di antara Descending Angel, Lyndin bisa dianggap orang yang cukup terkenal.
Angel yang akan turun ke dalam tubuh yang hanya bisa menopang tingkat kesembilan hampir semua Two-Winged Angel. Hanya tiga dari mereka adalah Cherubim, Four-Winged Angel, dan dari ketiganya, Lyndin adalah satu-satunya perempuan.
"McKenzie ada di ibukota daerah."
Lyndin mengerutkan kening. "McKenzie telah mencapai Saint-level hampir enam puluh tahun yang lalu. Dari laporan kita, kekuatannya bisa dianggap sebagai Saint-level tingkat menengah. Jika dia ikut campur, segalanya akan menjadi rumit."
"Kapten, jika kita berusaha sekuat mungkin, membunuh McKenzie seharusnya tidak terlalu sulit." Angel terdekat lainnya, yang dikenal sebagai Syke, berbicara.
"Benar. Ketika berjuang sepenuhnya, kita bisa membiarkan tubuh kita hancur dan memanfaatkan semua kekuatan kita sesungguhnya. Kita berlima adalah Two-Winged Angel, sementara anda, Kapten, adalah seorang Cherub. Meski hanya untuk jangka waktu yang singkat, seharusnya cukup untuk membunuh Linley."

Memang. Jika Angel mengabaikan hancurnya fisik mereka, mereka memang bisa menggunakan semua kekuatan sebenarnya mereka untuk waktu yang singkat. Tapi kemungkinan besar, setelah hanya dua atau tiga serangan, tubuh mereka akan berubah menjadi abu.
Ketika seorang Cherub dan lima Two-Winged Angel menggunakan Angel Battle Formation dan membiarkan tubuh mereka hancur karena menggunakan kekuatan penuh mereka, bahkan seorang petarung Saint-level tingkat menengah mungkin akan mati di tangan mereka.
"Jangan terburu-buru." Lyndin berkata dengan santai. "Semuanya, tenanglah. Berusaha sepenuhnya adalah upaya terakhir kita. Lagipula, sebelum berubah, Linley tidak begitu mengesankan. Kita malah bisa menemukan sebuah kesempatan di mana Linley berada dalam wujud manusia dan langsung membunuhnya."
"Kapten, lalu niatmu adalah untuk..." Kelimanya menatap Lyndin.
"Linley itu tidak mengenali kita berenam." Senyum tipis yang kejam ada di wajah Lyndin.
Hari itu, kelompok Lyndin, yang dipimpin oleh pria berjubah putih itu, mengendarai kuda-kudanya keluar dari kota prefektur Cerre.
"Nona, kereta militer di depan adalah milik tentara gubernur kota Cerre." Pria berjubah putih itu melaporkan dengan suara pelan kepada Lyndin dan lainnya segera setelah dia melihat mereka.
"Oh? Apakah itu Jenne dan Keane? "Lyndin melirik pada kereta yang jauh.
Hubungan Jenne dan Keane dengan Linley adalah sesuatu yang sangat diketahui Lyndin.
"Apakah bawahanmu berada di dalam kereta mereka?" Lyndin menurunkan suaranya.
"Benar, Nona." Pria berjubah putih itu mengangguk. Sambil tersenyum, Lyndin berkata, "Tidak apa-apa. Untuk saat ini, kita tidak perlu memperhatikan mereka."
Kelompok Lyndin jelas melakukan perjalanan dengan kecepatan yang jauh lebih cepat daripada kelompok Keane dan Jenne. Dalam sekejap mata, mereka melewatinya. Alasan Keane dan Jenne sedang melakukan perjalanan ini ke kota prefektur Basil adalah karena mereka perlu menghadiri pesta makan malam tahunan.
Tim Lyndin dan kereta Jenne keduanya menuju ke ibukota daerah Basil. Sedangkan untuk Linley, beberapa waktu yang lalu, dia tinggal di hotel di sisi timur kota.
Ada sebuah rumah kecil yang berada tepat di belakang hotel. Linley tinggal di sana.
"Aku datang ke ibukota daerah Basil dengan cara yang begitu menarik perhatian. Kemungkinan besar, orang-orang Radiant Church mengenaliku. Aku ingin tahu siapa yang akan dikirimkan Radiant Church selanjutnya?
Linley sama sekali tidak khawatir. Dia sebenarnya sangat bersemangat.
"Aku belum pernah bertemu dengan siapa pun yang bisa bertarung seimbang melawanku, atau memaksaku untuk menggunakan tingkat 'Hundred Layered Waves' dari 'Profound Truths of the Earth'.

It was as if he had never left his original position.
"He will appear and kill us all!" said the nine winged angel with a face of agony.
He did not care about the other eight winged angel who was thrown far away.
That angel was a fool!
In actuality, all of these angels and knights knew very clearly what sort of existence their ‘God’ was.
Those who were avid believers of him were all suffering from the poison.
When the Son of God was murdered, that existence went berserk and frightened most of them, otherwise, he might have had even more loyal followers. 
Even then, there were still people who believed in him.
Even though some of them did not speak or take action, the nine winged angel could guess that they would never betray their master.
"Hahaha, if he really has the guts to, he can come kill us at the Bastion of Stars!" taunted Lucifer.
He continued, "Even till now, he can’t leave that pocket dimension! Even though the emperor star has somewhat recovered, it’s still not complete.".
"Really?" asked the nine winged angel, his eyes now had a little hope.
"If you don’t want to believe it then forget it, you only have this one chance anyway. You know it yourself that in your heart, everything is clear. If you go back empty handed this time, you know what will happen," said Lucifer.
He continued, "Think about it, why are there such a limited number of Saints that can show themselves in this world, even though the world has been in recovery for so long?".
"Why?" asked the nine winged angel, puzzled by this question.
He finally realized that the man in front of him had long surpassed him, even if they were once considered equals.
This left him demoralized and depressed.
"Because of the seal!" answered Lucifer as he laughed, "Some of those powerful beings were scared of death and sealed the pocket dimensions which they inhabited. Because of this, these seals, which are almost impossible to release, have trapped them in their own dimensions until today.".
"I never thought it was like this…" said the nine winged angel with his eyes a little desolated.
The exact reason why he had fallen out with Lucifer back then was because Lucifer wanted to leave that place.
Back then, the nine winged angel still deeply respected their master.
He even thought of him as a God.
But, even more than that, he respected him and looked up to him like a son did to his father.
Lucifer had already warned him back then that the master was greedy for life and feared death, that his personality was cowardly and that he was not someone worthy of following.
Now that he remembered it, it was precisely because of this that the two of them fell out.
After that, Lucifer left that place and never returned.
Consequently, Lucifer, who was once an archangel, became a fallen angel. 
Of course, that all happened a few thousand years ago.
Putting everything into perspective, he now realized that Lucifer was not wrong, he was the one who was.

Lucifer’s eyes were full of disdain as he retracted his wings and said, "If you don’t want to agree to this you don’t have to, no one’s forcing you to… kill yourselves.".
"Luc… you’re not only a fallen angel, you’ve become the devil!" howled that knight in black armor.
"Hahahaha," laughed Lucifer coldly. Amidst his laughter, he was still calm.
He said, "You can continue fighting this eastern man or go back and let your master kill all of you. I’ve grown tired of you useless bunch a few thousand years ago. There’s an Eastern phrase called foolish loyalty, and that describes the whole lot of you!".
As he said this, he walked towards Chu Yu and asked, "Young man, can we have a little chat?".
Chu Yu was very cautious - this ten winged angel was very powerful and Chu Yu could feel a sense of danger surrounding him.
"Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you," said Lucifer peacefully as he smiled.
"I won’t be staying for long this time, I am leaving soon," he added.
Chu Yu looked at him and nodded his head. After Fang Lie went back, he followed this ten winged angel and flew up into the sky.
Apart from the people here, no one could tell what had happened.
They could only see a group of people talking in the air.
This invited many chatters among the netizens, who never failed to work their creativity.
"Is that the black winged angel Lucifer? He’s so handsome and so cool!".

Because Lucifer never lied!

"Don’t think about it anymore, we all made our own choices," said the nine winged angel to his men.
At this moment, those who did not want to betray their master stood on the other side, staring over coldly.
"You will receive divine punishment! And you’ll definitely regret your choice today," said the knight in black armor bitterly.
"Ah? What punishment? Will water pour down and drown all the sinners?" said the nine winged angel.
A pained expression appeared on his face as he said solemnly, "We all know very well…".
"Enough of your lies!" yelled the knight in black armor as he turned to those behind him and rallied, "Attack the Chu Clan! Regardless of what has happened, we can’t let our bodies get tainted by sin!".
"Attack the Chu Clan!".
The group of knights and angels rallied as they prepared for battle.
They were not kidding. After they had rallied themselves, they began charging towards the Chu Clan below.
No matter how one looked at these people, they all had an aura of bravery and resolve. 
This was the strength of their faith, and it did not waver, not even in death.
