The next morning Austin tried to think of methods that would help in taming adamant nature Pokemon. The closest he could think of was getting a gym badge, like in games in which makes traded Pokemon listen to trainers for a set level. Too bad the world has changed for shit, gym battles are useless. 

There are also many things that the game doesn't cover. Using game logic for reality is also absurd. Austin began to think of the anime. Aura was one of the ways people could communicate to Pokemon. Another method could be like ash and his Charzard. 

His charizard got in harms way and then ash saved it to gain its loyalty. The same thing happened with pikachu. The problem was the current world is too dangerous. Austin honestly didn't want to put himself in a stupid situation. For all he knew, he is just a normal guy without any plot armor. He just used the knowledge he had from earth and his wits to live well in the world.

While he was contemplating, the door bell rang. Austin open the door and saw his Instructor Chuck Norris.

"How are you teacher? Please come in I want to show you my improvements." Austin said.

"Good morning kid. I'm looking forward to see the results of your training. If you truly mastered focus energy, I will start phase two of your training." Norris said as he walked in. Austin was his brightest pupil. He was very satisfied with his progress. 

Thanks to Austin's referring his book he made a lot of money. He wanted to open a Dojo to teach the new generation. 

As he entered he felt Austin had something bothering him. "Hey kid, what's the matter? You seem annoyed about something. Tell me I might be able to help you."

"It was that obvious, well the truth is that I'm having trouble with a new Pokemon. I bought a wimpod recently and everything about it is amazing except it's nature. Its too stubborn. I was think of different ways to make it more loyal. It doesn't listen to any orders but it has high potential." Austin blurted out.

"You actually bought that wimpy thing. They are the cowards of the Pokemon world. I can't believe you thought it was special." Old Chuck said with annoyance. 

Austin showed the stats of wimpod to the old man. Filled with new vigor, Instructor Norris rapidly stood up and grabbed Austin's hands. 

"Kid this is not a wimpod, this is undying meatshield. You actually found such a strange critter.... Your only issue is that it won't listen to your orders."  Old man Chuck calmed down and began discuss with Austin.

"Ya old man, that's the only issue. You sure easy to surprise. You should try not to get too excited or else you'll get a heart attack." Austin expressionlessly said.

"Shut up kid! Who doesn't get excited when they see a rare thing. To think a wimpod would mutate like this. Once it evolves you will have a very strong body guard. When you later begin learning about Pokemon formations, you will realize how strong of an addition this Pokemon is to your team.

Anyway kid if you can learn endure I have a way for you to make this Pokemon loyal. Let go outside to the training field." Norris then walked out with Austin following.

Austin felt that Norris wanted him to be dumb like ash and put himself in harms way. As they made their way towards the training area, Austin felt that this was the quickest way to gain a Pokémon's loyalty. Their were other methods but it would take too much time. If Austin was able to tame wimpod quickly, then it won't fall behind the rest of his Pokemon. 

The biggest problem with taking his time to tame it, is that it would waste valuable time that can be used to help wimpod grow. 

"Listen here kid show me your level. Last week you pretty much mastered the second stage. Now, Focus your energy!" Old man Chuck Norris quickly got into his teacher role.

Austin instantly gathered his energy and focused it on his chest. He then focused on shifting the energy to his right hand. A minute later the energy gathered to his right hand. His hand began to emit an energy that surrounded it. A pressure also emerged from the energy. After 20 seconds Austin canceled the technique. He was sweating and breathing very hard.

"Excellent you actually standing firmly and the beginning stage of the last level of focus energy. You should have it mastered in two weeks. 

Now I'm going to teach you endure and then you will save wimpod with your body. There is a big chance for this to work. Wimpod by nature are dumb and cowards. This one is only a bit smarter due to it being shiny. Once you save it, this wimpod will be loyal to you. 

Let begin!" Norris congratulated Austin and began explaining how to use endure. 

Instead of focusing the energy only on a part of his body, he had to cover his entire body. On his first attempt, Austin's skin tightened and slowly began to flush. Austin quickly canceled the technique to catch his breath. 

"No kid you need to regulate your breathing. Then you only have to use the energy to tighten the body for a moment. Once your attacked any damage would be lowered significantly. It will also be very difficult for you to die in one hit. 

Now tighten you body again. This time tighten to your limit then immediately cancel the Art. After catching your breath do it again. In a couple of hours you should be able to execute the move instantly. Then we'll go to the forest." Instructor Norris instructed.

Several hours past, Austin and wimpod were walking in the forest. As expected by Norris, wimpod stuck close to him even though it would not listen. It seemed that it had become depended on him since he fed it the entire day yesterday and most of the morning. He also provided it a safe place to stay.

"Wimpod hurry let's go. It's not as fast as we are." Austin yelled. He moved a bit away but saw that wimpod didn't follow. 

The little critter froze still from fear. It never felt an aura so scary. Looking at the small creature block it's path, Pangoro roared. Then it punched down towards wimpod.

Wimpod thought that it was going to die. It was also abandoned by its trainer. Just like how its family shunned it. As the punch got closer wimpod was suddenly grabbed by Austin. He quickly used endure as he jumped and grabbed wimpod.

Austin was hit and flew towards a tree. He turned around and let his back hit against the tree. The punch was very heavy even with his endure. Austin coughed some blood.

"Hey little buddy. Why didn't you run! Even to the end you still ignored my orders. It doesn't matter though, your safe now." Austin spoke slowly. He was hurt even though this was an act. Looks like Norris was serous about having him test the move.

Pangoro suddenly gazed behind it and ran away. Sylveon appeared from the bushes. Seeing wimpod protecting Austin, Sylveon knew that the plan worked. 

Wimpod noticed Sylveon come to the rescue. It roared happily but a fire was ignited to become as strong as her. 

Austin took a potion and after healing a bit he walked back to the city. He knew he won wimpod over. As he got close he recalled all his Pokemon. Instructor chuck Norris appeared with a smile.

"See kid I told you it will work. You need to understand the commonality within a species to hatch something like this. You endure is great. According to pangoro you were able to withstand five percent of its strength. That pretty high for only reaching initial mastery. 

Once you fully master both skills, I will teach you the rest. Tomorrow I will add close combat training for you. This will come in handy when fighting other humans."

"You know that freaking hurt old man. I will sue you when we get back." Austin threatened.

"Calm down kid, you only coughed a little blood. What are you being a baby for. " Norris said not caring about Austin's threat.

"Haaaaa! Fine let's go back I wanna eat. This is the last time I try taking a stubborn Pokemon." Austin said. 

The both of them returned back to the city and began to eat in a restaurant.

Story will move moderately with occasional timeskips.
This story will have light romance but barely. It will focus on Mc. So there will barely be interactions.
The story is about a journey of an Mc who is the leader of a Pokemon fan club with the title of professor( I like Pokemon but not to that level) who died and luckily was reincarnated in Pokemon. Only to find out it’s not as innocent and friendly as he thought.

Now in most normal cases I would be reporting the death of two students. However the two students that went to fight him were none other than Harry Potter and Yoru Pendragon-Gilgamesh.
While Yoru distracted Tom Riddle in another students body Harry went to get the object that he was using to possess the young girl. Once young Harry had his hands on it he threw it to Yoru. 
She caught it and the second the book touched her hand it threw a young adult Tom out of Ginevra Weasley's body.
From Tom's word during his monologue it seems like he was taking young Ginevra's magic and soul to resurrect himself. However Yoru just simply touched the book and he became a physical person again. She then continued to taunt, yes taunt he-who-shall-not-be-names while Harry ran away with the young Weasley's passed out body. 
Once Harry Potter was gone Yoru suddenly shouted something about playing music then told the newly resurrected dark lord that was going to have a really bad time. 
Do you know what happens next the creature that was Petrifying the students shows ups and it is a gigantic basalisk. The Massive snake looks Yoru in the eyes. I was expecting the poor girl to die, however to my surprise the basilisk gets petrified.
It almost seems like one of those word chuck Norris jokes that muggles keep making. Anyway after that throughout the entire chamber of secrets you can hear  a song that echos in all the water tunnels. 
The chamber is secrets filled with smoke as these weird weapons or magic came into being and started firing lasers everywhere. The entire place looked like those laser light shows the muggles loved 20 years ago. Except the lasers were deadly, they disintegrated whatever they touched. The golden haired red eyed girl was giggling saying dance Tom dance while wherever the dark lord was previously standing was covered in scorch marks. It was the most terrifying dual I have ever seen.

He'd scored; he was victorious! Small knew that disproving something was much harder than proving it. And Kirk knew that Small was sure to keep tabs on many illegal colonizers in Colorado. It was part of his nature to gather dirt on people. And he would have a hard time explaining why, being Colorado's governor, he hadn't reported and shut down all the illegal colonies. It was logical to assume he had a personal interest in that.
"If I were you," Kirk said in a friendly tone, "I'd keep all that under my hat. Know what I mean? Like Lea said, these are difficult times. We mustn't make them more difficult."
"No," agreed Small, still a little pale. Kirk was happy to see Small was looking at him with new respect.
"See you in the morning, Ron," he said. He gave Small's shoulder a squeeze, and went off to his room.

I could check that across 7 blocks away with my binoculars.

After waiting a while on my way to the gym I received a call from Doug the Thug. Never gets old. He said "Our boss is very impressed with your information, we checked it out and it was all true. I kept smiling just thinking about the awesome elite bodyguard that would arrive at my home tonight. I bet he will be buff like Arnold, tough like Chuck Norris, and faster than Bruce Lee! Oh man, I just can't wait. That morning I was so pumped I received many praises from my personal trainer. On the afternoon I performed better even stealing a light smile on my serious swimming professor.

Finally, I was skimming through the Portuguese book, in reality, I couldn't focus on the damn book. So when I heard someone ringing my bell I went faster than when the munchies arrived while I was high as fuck.

I opened the door and a tiny Asian dude greeted me and said: "You are Fargal right?"

I stood frozen at the satire of bodyguard in front of me and read the card "Hung Lee, the only obstacle between you and a bullet" with a bullet in the middle of the card. Jesus what kind of idiot they send me.

I awkwardly smiled and said "Oh right, please come in Lee. Treat this as your home!"
He smiled and then said "Oh then you should take off your shoes, I don't permit people to use shoes at my house. For hygiene and security reasons."

I froze a little bit while forcing an awkward laugh and said "Yes, you are right. Is better to keep the house clean, maybe I should begin to embrace this custom!"

After we sat on the sofa and offered him a drink, he chooses a beer for my surprise, maybe I'm a little racist but I expected he asking me from a green tea. Anyway, after we sat and drink our respective drinks, I drank the protein shake that I prepared beforehand I asked:
"So what are your qualifications to protect me?"

He burped and said "Yeah I have more than enough. I was on the French Foreign Legion, the hardest and difficult army to join. Why? Because is full of criminals of all the countries of the world. Don't ask about my past crimes. I was on Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and I saw enough shit to retire and become a private bodyguard for fat rich people like you. So yeah, I'm more than qualified to protect your sorry ass."

'Fat?! ME? Fuck you!'

I calmed my emotions, forced a smile and said "Yeah I can see that. Well, welcome abroad. How much is your payment anyway?"

He chugged the beer, burped and said "1 Million per year, and if you want more security personnel it has to be approved by me. I don't work with noobs."
 
I opened my eyes in shock and said, "Do you realize that even the biggest celebrities only pay $500,000 annually, per agent?" 

He calmly said "Oh? I didn't know that. Well now that you said that, I could take 3 of those flimsy boys by myself. So now my salary is $1.5 Million per year"

I facepalmed myself and thought 'You are an impostor of a God of Deals and you just gave him important information and leverage for free! Congratulations you played yourself, idiot!'

I laughed and after calming down I said "Of course! We can sign a contract right now and make it official!"

He smiled and said, "I previously prepared this contract, please read it and sign it!"

I took the contract and read it carefully, Jesus the cancelation fee of the contract is 5 more times than the contract itself. It seems that he is not very liked and many people decided to cancel the contract before the time. It makes sense, rich people like people who compliment them, not to insult them. I didn't care though if he can keep me safe and find capable people to do the same for my family he can insult me any time he wants.

I'm not that easy to anger, I think I only got angry 2 o 3 times in my life. Most of the times were when I was a teen and my hormones were pretty high and shouted to my mother. Gratefully my little brother was nothing like his older brother.

I didn't make him sign an Employee contract. Why? I didn't know what would happen if you drop a soldier in an unknown environment. You do know? I don't. And I'm not eager to find it out.  Besides my issue of a high chance of getting hurt if I send him there, I needed a disguise. I couldn't make a deal with him with my face right? I don't know if I can make a disguise good enough to make him not recognize me.

Sure I could use the whole "this is an illusion and this body is from your mind bla bla bla" but even then he would look at me with other eyes after that. He would not see me as an idiot rich man as I intended. Maybe I could just use my middle-age illusion on the <Dealer World> but still, I have some tics, tendencies or body language that could give away my true self. Too risky.

Why I intended that? Simple, I don't trust him enough to let him see my true face. 
Going back to business, we coordinate that he would come back tomorrow morning, that I should have my daily routine on paper already written for him by then. Yes, I have homework it seems. And this teacher would kick my ass if I don't deliver it.

All things considered, I finally got a good bodyguard and I could feel a little safer going to the bar and walking around. He didn't want to stay at the house with me but said that he would later be close enough if anything happened. That is a relief, I don't know how I would explain to Emily the appearance of an Asian dude sleeping on the sofa in the morning. It was a good thing that she was staying at a friend house sleeping tonight so she didn't saw or meeting.

With that though I fall to sleep thinking how good was life going for me now.

Chuck: " Jack Wait! "

I halted my foot mid stomp.

Jack: " Huh? Why what's wrong Chuck? "

Chuck: " Don't stomp on his head. "

Jack: " Don't stomp on his head? Why his head? Can I still stomp on him anywhere else? "

Chuck: " Go nuts pal, just don't stomp on his head because that mask looks pretty cool. " 

Plum : (" Fucking Moron because we need his brain intact! ")

Jack took a second to look down at Gyroms skull mask although it did look really cool the mask was cracked and the feathers had been worn down.

Not to mention it was heavily damaged from the explosion earlier and was likely to fall apart at any moment.

The more Jack inspected the mask the less desirable it looked, he wondered what Chuck saw in such a thing.

Jack: " I dunno Chuck looks kinda crummy to me. "

Gyrom: " (*Gurgle-*Wheeze), (*Croak), (*Wheeze) ".

Jack ignored Gyrom's pleading eyes looking back up at him and gave him a strong kick to the gut for interrupting his conversation with Chuck.

Gyrom groaned out in pain but his wheezing quieted down by a bit.

Jack felt no sympathy for the old red bastard, if anything Jack even felt a little tempted to set him on fire.

He wanted to let him experience the same hell he went through from his initial fireball attack back at the Goblin Cave Entrance.

Plum sensed his growing discontent so she spoke to him in Chuck's voice once more.

Chuck: " Jack old buddy old pal you're looking at it the wrong way, you're not gonna wear it. "

Jack: " I'm not? Then what's the point? "

Chuck: " Cause It would make one wicked souvenir that's what. "

Jack felt that Chuck was being a little too weird about the whole mask thing.

But for some reason instead of pursuing his doubts Jack simply ignored them? 

Who was he to question the advice of his most trusted friend Chuck.

Jack: " Hmm alright, sure why not? "

Chuck: " Alrighty! Then it's Settled! Good Luck Partner! "

Plum: (" Stupid boy, hurry up and finish it already. ")

Although Jack was unaware of Plum's influence over him he had a growing suspicion in his heart that would grow every time his memories would be erased or tampered with.

His resistance to memory manipulation would grow as time went one forcing his mind and spirit to evolve like an infectious disease against mental attacks.

Plum was fully aware of this growing problem and to go around it she would have to use a different form of magic every time to erase his memories to keep Jack from becoming immune to her magic.

As a Dark Fairy to her beloved Goddess she was privy to hundreds of spells related to memory manipulation so she did not have to worry about overuse.

However she failed to account for Jack's mind and spirit to become strengthened from such methods and evolve to a point of complete immunity to mental manipulation.

It was not because Plum was unqualified or unintuitive but because she had a negative biased against Jack and every other mortal creature she came across.

Plum could be considered incredibly racist to all mortal beings, after all she was an immortal rare physically and magically superior creature to most other's who ranked high tier in most of the mortal realms.

What reason would she have too view others who were ranked below her tier as anything but trash.

Plum was a sheltered and unnatural Fairy with an evil alignment, only holding love in her wicked little heart for her beloved Goddess. 

Plum underestimated mortal beings like Jack and did not believe him capable of becoming anything grander than a pile of shit when compared to herself.

Viewing mortal creatures as primitive and useless she had low expectations for Jack to ever grow beyond her calculations.

Plum simply made the oversight to not consider this possibility at all, before she ended communications with Jack, she influenced his desire to kill Gyrom.

When Chuck's voice faded into his mind, Jack had the sudden urge to kill Gyrom immediately.

It was an unnatural urge to kill that went against his desire to inflict pain upon Gyrom.

Despite this Jack was still dead set on hurting him as much as possible.

Remembering Chuck's words instead of Curb stomping Gyrom's head into a mushy red paste he opted for a slow and deliberate decapitation.

Jack crouched down beside Gyrom who was still trying desperately to move, shaking his head violently in a futile attempt to force his broken limbs.

His broken body could only twitch at his command, when he looked up to see Jack crouched naked beside him with a wide toothy evil smile plastered across his face, Gyrom's heart stopped.

Gyrom was frozen in fear he was just barely still clinging on to life and still hoped that his luck would save the day like it had before in such hopeless situations. 

His hope was quickly shattered by Jacks next words as he laid down in a puddle of his own blood and filth dying slowly.

Jack: "heh-heh Time To Die You Old Fuck."

Jack activated his Blue Claws and with his index and middle fingers entwined he created a small blue claw blade to slice Gyrom's head off.

When Jack brought the two fingers close to his neck, Gyrom began to shake and struggle wildly with all his might, he did not want to die, he was not ready to die!

Gyrom began to twitch his entire body forcing his limbs to react, but his actions only made his pain worse.

His breathing was a rampant wheeze and gurgle noise, that made a sick echo that reverberated in the dark caves...

Gorbum: " Shhh! Did you gobs hear that? It sound like a beast! We Go Back Yes? "

Gyron: " No! That Noise… It sounded Like Father's! Quickly we must Hurry! "

Gyron: " Gorbum lead the charge! "

Gorbum: " Yes Gyron! Come Gobs Follow Me! "

Gorbum: (" Why Me, Ah! Me Shoulda Had Better Excuse Stupid Gorbum!, Stupid Gorbum! ")

As Gorbum was cursing at himself, he spoke up to the rest of the goblin warriors to follow his lead and charged at the direction of the noise.

He had been dragged along by one of Gyrom's Son's to lead the way, secretly cursing his bad luck today…

Gorbum was the first to arrive and was horrified to see a naked Ja'Hack crouched beside his Elder's headless corpse.

Gyrom's head had rolled away beside Jack, who had just finished cutting it off when they arrived mere moments afterwards.

Jack turned to see Gorbum standing with a large group of  forty or so goblins crowded at the Cave tunnel.

They all stared at him with a mixture of emotions some were in shock others is complete disbelief and, horror and, only a select few looked enraged at him.

Jack: " Aww shit. "

Gyron: " Father! You! YOU BASTARD! KILL HIM!"

Gyron was the first to charge out at Jack in a fit of rage, he was his fathers favored child and as a result he was spoiled rotten by him.

Unlike the rest of his siblings Gyron cared for his father deeply.

Gyrom had planned to nurture Gyron into becoming his heir and raised him to establish an Elder Hierarchy in his floor level like the other Elders.

But unlike his fellow Elder's Gyrom could only mate with goblins in his harem for his dynasty over the floor level.

This limited his bloodline and potential options for his children and future something that frustrated Gyrom to no end.

Gyron however was the exception the spawn of a Stray Female Demi Goblin and Gyrom.

Gyrom had come upon this female Demi goblin from another tribe by pure coincidence during one his hunts for the Fire Foxes.

He of course captured and forced her to bare his children at the first opportunity thanking his good luck along the way.

He wanted her to empower his bloodline with talented descendants to expand his domain and reach within the tribe.

Gyrom was not punished for keeping her because she had hailed from another Goblin tribe in the Dark Forest so he was free to do as he pleased with her.

But soon after her first litter had been born she committed suicide by biting her tongue off.

Gyron was lucky enough to inherit his mother's special skill unlike the rest of his siblings in the litter.

His siblings Gyro a standard male warrior and Grya the female warrior were among the group tossed aside for being born as plain and mundane as any other goblin.

This created resentment and distance among the siblings who all wanted the attention and love of there cold and cruel father.

Gobum: "Gyron No!"

Gorbum rushed at Gyron tackling him to the ground shouting at the other goblins to quickly hold him down.

Jack: " Yo- "

Before Jack could finish his sentence he blacked out without warning, to him it felt like an instant moment of deep sleep.

But before Jack's consciousness was snapped back into reality less than a minute of real time had passed.

During his blackout his entire body was shrouded in a bright yellow light that turned red before disappearing into thin air revealing Jacks new form.

Many of the Goblin Warriors looked on at Jack with amazement and wonder before bowing down to greet there new Elder by right.

All except for Gorbum and the few goblin warriors who were still holding Gyron down as he screamed curses and resisted wildly.

For them to witness the birth of a red goblin was truly something the average goblin would see maybe once in every ten or twenty lifetimes among their tribe.

When Jack returned from his blacked out state he felt different somehow when  he looked down to check his body he immediately noticed the abnormality.

The Blue Screen appeared before him.

When he closed the screen he continued to look down at his new body in utter shock.

His Mustard Yellow skin had turned into a vibrant Ketchup Red color and he could feel the familiar sensation of hair on his head. 

He patted his head to confirm unlike before Jack did not have a Mohawk instead it was now a long straight black cut that reached down to his upper back.

His glowing red eyeballs had turned green like Gyrom's that shined with a malevolent luster.

Jack had also grown in height along with his muscle and body mass.

He now stood at around 5.5ft tall and weighed at about 280 pounds.

Jack had mixed emotions about becoming what he described to be as a super buff red goblin dwarf.

His large nose and brows adjusted with his height and grew even thicker giving him a fiercer and uglier appearance than before. 

Jacks spine had painfully contorted and shifted to give him a more manly and bulkier physical bone structure.

His curved spine and broad shoulders were but a few of the changes caused by his bones growing thicker.

His teeth had grown in number becoming longer and very sharp giving his mouth the appearance of a shark's.

Jack's Shark like mouth was unique to him, this bizarre trait was a side effect of evolving with the Goblin Cannibal skill.

But by far the most drastic changes were his limbs and the absurd muscle growth.

Jack: (" Jesus Fucking Christ! My arms and legs! ")

Jack thought to himself as he inspected his beefy limbs, they were huge and thick.

He felt that his new change would give someone like Chun Li and Zangief a run for their money.

Jack: (" If anyone from my old world saw me they would think I overdosed on steroids. ")

Everything from my neck to my feet had grown bulkier and were covered in muscles.

Jack: (" Even my three inch dick had become a monster growing three times larger! What the Fuck!" )

In all honesty this change was too bizarre for me to take in, I felt dizzy just thinking about my new appearance it made my head hurt.

I had so many questions, one being how would I even maintain this physique. 

I was thirteen when I became a goblin I have never seriously worked out a day in my life, and I had no plans to start now either.

Jack wondered if he would get fat if he just continued on normally with his new life.

Jack: (" I mean eventually overtime it would become flabby and shrink right? Maybe my body could return back to a more normal shape… I hope!? " )

I only ever practiced to play baseball and to ride my bike for exercise.

As someone who had  been accustomed to a light and small physique his entire life.

To just suddenly become a hulking mass of muscle and flesh was just too much of a drastic change to calmly process it all at once.


My arms and legs felt heavy my body weighed a ton and I felt really slow but the strength in my hands and feet felt amazing.

I felt like I could bench press a person in half with my bare hands alone or lift up a car.

Of Course this feeling was greatly exaggerated, Jack had only reached the physical peak of the red goblin race.

This trait was due to his evolution with Blue Claws a skill that allowed Jack to access the strength of the Blue Demon Bear.

Luckily for Jack his body and muscles were maintained by his new evolution so he would not have to worry about them ever growing any larger or smaller.

Jack's new natural strength without the use of his Blue Claws Skill was something that could rival or outdo most of  the professional athletes or strongman of his old world.

Jack decided to test out his new skill Cannibal Collector on the severed head of Gyrom.

But before he could try it out he remembered about the army of goblins standing by.

Jack laughed at himself internally about how he could forget such an important threat and presence.

He was still shocked and preoccupied by the changes he had just experienced to really notice them.

When he saw them all bowing towards him except for a few, he gave them an odd look of curiosity Jack had stopped paying them any attention after his blackout and was oblivious to his new Elder position.
