i always just imagine them as their depicted age, as they react and act like they are at that age, in most fanfics. it's mostly that they know what is going to happen in the future their age in the past almost never has a influence on the story

nobody really owns anything if you think like that. i mean does the government not take your house too, if you don't pay your property taxes? or can your kids even inherit your property, if they can't pay the taxes over their inheritance? it would have to be sold to fill up the gab. and what is left would go to your children.
