The faceless guard stopped screaming, and for a millisecond, nothing moved, spoke, or even breathed. Then chaos broke out. Screams echoed in the space as more than half the guards fled for their lives, the ones who didn't run were unconscious on the floor, leaving just a handful and Arnold.
Davien frowned as he held his side; he hadn't even realized he had been cut, but it was minimal, and it was already healing. If he had known Cerberus would be this effective, he would have let the hound go loose.
Davien glanced at Arnold, and the man didn't even look the least bit fazed by the guards who had just fled. That was when Davien realized the guards that had stayed behind weren't part of those who had attacked him. It didn't take long for him to figure out that these were Arnold's strongest men, and they had probably stayed back in the hopes that the other guards would wear him out.
