Chapter 53: Break In

Three days have passed since the assassins' abrupt attack. Inside a forest, Nanako could be seen walking holding onto her phone and checking the location. Mimiko and Mute were following her. They were heading towards a hole in the barrier. 

The ground they were walking on slowly turned muddy before a clearing in the dense forest came into their vision. Thousands of fly heads could be seen gathered together, flying around each other. The flyheads were fighting over the sun's light. Nanako stared at the fly heads with a disgusted look before looking back at Mute and Mimiko, talking. 

" The hole in the barrier is directly in front of us. When we enter the barrier, we need to take a right and sprint towards the middle of jujutsu high. Then we will meet him. However, we need you, Mute to go in front of us and scout the area. You are far faster than us. "

Mute and Mimiko nodded their heads as they slowly began to walk through the horde of flyheads. After slipping through the horde and entering the barrier, Mute's body instantly flickered, disappearing. Nanako and Mimiko start to sprint to the right. After running for a few minutes, they exit the forest and see buildings. Mimiko and Nanako come to a stop before checking the surroundings, after looking left and right. They started to sprint towards the middle of jujutsu high. 

Mimiko and Nanako leapt onto a building roof, running across the metal shingles. The person Mimiko and Nanako are trying to meet is a brand new student. One with a restriction. Mimiko and Nanako enter a dark alleyway before they see a brown robot wearing a jujutsu high uniform. He was leaning on the wall behind him with his arms crossed. 

The boy Nanako and Mimiko went to meet was Mechamaru. Mechamaru looked at Nanako and Mimiko before he unraveled his arms and spoke.

" You sure took your time, but is what Geto says true? That you can fix my body? "

Nanako and Mimiko nodded their heads at him, not talking. Truthfully, Geto had no way to fix Mechamaru's body. It was only a ploy to make Mechamaru give him information about Jujutsu high. Mechamaru was so desperate to fix his cruel body that he didn't even ask any more questions instead just talked. 

" I see, so what information do you want? Hurry up and ask. We don't have much time until one of the instructors notices that you are here. "...

Around 40 feet away from the alleyway, Mute could be seen sitting on top of a roof with his legs crossed looking around. Mute kept looking before the sound of fighting could be heard and two figures dashed out of a forest. Mute stared at a panda fighting a woman. After staring at the woman a little longer, Mute realizes that it's Maki. 

Maki and Panda were clearly sparring against each other. Mute watched as Maki and Panda exchanged a fury of blows until suddenly Maki suddenly looked over towards him, Mute eyes widened until his body vanished disappearing from the roof. 

Maki stared at the roof. Mute was just on until Panda spoke to Maki. 

" What's wrong? "

Maki looked over at Panda before talking. 

"It was nothing, I just thought I felt a strong gaze on me."

As Panda and Maki stood still confused. In a dark alleyway, Mute could be seen leaning on a wall keeping his presence hidden from Maki. Mute had used his technique to shrink the distance between him and the wall making him move faster than Maki's eyes could track.

Mute looked over at Maki and Panda standing still until the phone in his cloak vibrated. He reached into his cloak before pulling it out and reading a text message from Nanako. Confirming the fact that she had got the information from Mechamaru, Mute took a deep breath until his body vanished.

The mission was a complete success. They got away scot-free without being seen. The information they got from Mechamaru will be important for Geto. It will help him plan for December 24th. 

Mute, Nanako, and Mimiko could be seen walking on the streets of Kyoto. Nanako and Mimiko grinned wildly until they turned left and entered a restaurant to celebrate their success...
