The Start Of The Crazy One - 6

***

Naturally, I sensed someone attempting to reach out to me, and I knew it was Jaden. At first, I did not want him to but then realized there is no reason to be rude to him. After all, he's the protagonist of this world, the guy with an unmistakably positive energy vibe. I thought to myself that he must have a genuinely valid reason for reaching out.

So, I let him. I have my limitlessness turned off anyways because Dark Magician Girl was always complaining about how she can't touch me at night when I'm sleeping. I'm not sure what that means either. But there are no humans on this island that can harm me, so I have decided to turn off limitless. After all, this world is originally a kid's show, there shouldn't be anything capable of harming me.

Most importantly, I had made a promise to Dark Magician Girl that I would be a 'good' person.

However! This had better be a good reason. I'm not a morning person after all!

"Hey, Gojo! I'd like to challenge you to a duel! How about it?! Want to get your game on?!"

[This fucking bas—] I telepathically voiced my thought, only to receive a spiritual smack from Dark Magician Girl after she heard me say that.

'You didn't need to grab me just to say that. When you could just say it out loud.' I was just thinking about what had just happened.

Yep, it's my fault for forgetting that this guy is crazy for dueling. I walked right into this one. I'd completely forgotten about his crazy hobby. He is always up for a hard-core duel. No homo.

'Anything I answer with, will likely be met with an annoyingly enthusiastic comment or questions about dueling. Or something else equally irritating. If I were to duel him, I'd be subjected to even more obnoxious and loud screaming.'

But if I were to look at it closely in this world, the protagonist rarely goes against the same opponent twice. Only special cases would allow them to do so (or so I think). So... if I just OTK him, he might not bother me again.

I chose not to respond with words. Instead, I activated my duel disk and got into position.

Jaden's eyes widened and shone brightly.

"Ahhh! Yeahhhh! That's what I'm talking about!" Jaden activated his duel disk and stepped back, creating some distance between us for our duel.

"Jaden! Is that okay? Shouldn't we— " Syrus looks worried.

"I'll say it once and only once! "I'm not a morning person!" I expressed my displeasure openly. "I've already had to deal with the Chancellor this early in the damn morning, so just shut up! And the same goes for all of you!" I made my feelings known to the rest of the group with a determined look.

[Except for you babe.]

"Oh, sorry man! I will try to tone it down." Jaden scratches the back of his head as he apologizes while smiling.

Syrus, Alexis, Mindy, and Jasmine stood there with their mouth's open. Although they all wanted to say something. No, they have a lot of things they want to ask. But they noticed Gojo is in an annoying mood. They exchanged glances, silently agreeing that now was not the time to question him.

[Husband! Don't be rude!] Dark Magician Girl scolded me telepathically.

[Honey, I'm not cursing at them. Also, can you blame me? They really don't want us to go back and cuddle], I reasoned through our telepathic connection.

[This is your chance! To make friends!] She argued back.

[I am already friends with them. Don't you see me talking to them?] I shot back.

[You just met them and then told them to shut up! What kind of friendship is that?!]

[Yeah, cause I am friends with them. People don't normally say shut up to strangers.]

[Whatever, I can deal with the morning sickness, but I'm not letting you sleep when we get back], Dark Magician Girl responded.

[Those assholes, how dare they make my wife do this to me!]

[Don't shift the blame on them!] She yelled in response.

~

There was no need to display my prowess or my ability to manipulate space. I simply drew my cards with my hands, ready to face Jaden in a 'fair duel'.

'Let's go serious about this. To demonstrate to not fuck with me in the morning.'

"Duel!" We both said in a normal tone.

4000 LP x2

"You can decide if you want to go first or second, I'll have you know, you can't beat me because I'm the strongest. You will only have one turn." I declared with confidence.

[Husband? Are you—Don't you dare summon the Egyptian gods!] Dark Magician Girl telepathically voiced her worry as she read some of my thoughts of going crazy.

[Honey, I'm hurt. Why would I summon the gods for something as serious as this? I won't resort to cheap tricks like bringing him to the shadow realm to hurt him. I do want to hurt him though.] I went over my plan.

[What happened to being friends? Why are you serious with this duel?]

[It's more a guy thing for games. Now shush and watch.] I telepathically replied.

"Huh? Woahhhh! I'd definitely like to see what you've got, then!" Jaden exclaimed with excitement.

'Is Gojo really going to win as he says? What backing does he have?' Alexis thought it was impossible. She considered Jaden a strong duelist, one on par with herself, and she held the top position in the academy among the female duelists. Taking Jaden down in one turn, she doesn't believe it.

Similar thoughts raced through the minds of the rest of the group as they watched the duel unfold. They couldn't figure out where I got my confidence and the audacity to declare victory so early in the duel.

"Well then! Check this out! I'm starting off with Polymerization to fusion summon both my Elemental Hero Avian and Burstinatrix to bring forth Elemental Hero Flame Wingman! Come on out!" Jaden exclaimed, sending the three cards to the graveyard as he executed his move.

"Oh! YEAH! That's not all! Then I'm ending it with a face down card!" Jaden just finished his turn.

He has one more card left in his hand.

'Bro...'

'I bet that face-down card has something with the word hero in it. Definitely preventing me from attacking or destroying the monster card. Perhaps something related after destroying it. In other words, it's annoying.'

'Honestly, it's not a bad move, especially in this timeline, with the back-and-forth era. But that card in his hand…The card is either useless or a combo related. My priority should be to destroy the face-down card and then eliminate Flame Wingman.'

My knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh! is limited, only extending back to the Master Duel at the beginning, and I don't have comprehensive knowledge of all the cards. I am not a deck builder, since I mainly watch guides and understand how to combo certain cards and synergy. I am also restricted as I can't bring cards that are xyz, pendulum, synchro, or link (You get the idea). That also includes some secondary types of monster cards (For example Tuner).

I could easily pull out some hand traps, but I won't use them in this duel. Certainly, there are cards I need to be careful of. Because this world is an anime, and anime have bullshit mechanics for special characters.

Indeed, looking back, I realize that I got so caught up in trying to create the most powerful deck while in a Q&A session with R.O.B. Fortunately, that old man suggested that prioritizing the most overpowered cards for this world and deck wasn't necessary. Instead, he advised me to choose a deck that's familiar and easy to use, and I've come to appreciate his wisdom.

***

Flashback~

"Why?" The old man asked.

"Obviously, I need to have the most powerful deck in this world. Given my limited knowledge, I am clueless about creating a deck. Do I look like I'm a damn seasoned deck builder? The strategy I am so used to in masterduel has been stripped." I stated. I was sent here to save it. So naturally I need to have the best of the best 💀. I don't want to build a deck.

Dark Magician Girl, seemingly oblivious to our conversation, floated idly about the room.

"What? No! You don't need to have the most powerful deck. You're facing opponents in this world who are…unimpressive, with the cards they have in this world. Your thinking is wrong! Possessing the most powerful deck? You have a deck capable of handling any situation if utilized properly." The old man rebutted me.

"I'm already confident that you won't lose in this world unless you deliberately choose to do so. Just use a Dark Magician, Red-Eyes, or Blue-Eyes deck. I don't know! Any deck you're used to from the Master Duel and just replace the cards you can't use," he advised.

"Besides, why the hell are you so focused on the most overpowered deck when this world has yet to reach the level of card development of your world?! You're not even against modern players from your world. Overpowered combos are a rarity in this world."

Honestly, I had nothing to say to that.

***

You know what, it's hard to believe I'm saying this, but that old man is right. There's rarely a duelist with good synergy (good cards in their deck) and strategy on par with the people from my world. Not only that, but they will never have cards that I possess. I realize now that I had been approaching the situation with a narrow perspective. It was that my thought process was different at the time, because I was just sent to this world. But now I know where I stand in this world, it is easy as fuck.

"I draw."

It is my turn. I have decided there is no need to hold back. I will reveal my cards that exist from my world.

With six cards at my disposal, I can do anything that is within reason of R.O.B. 's limitation set upon me. So… what better way than beating up the new protagonist with some of the old protagonist's cards?

"I revealed the card I just drew in order to activate its effect. By revealing him, I can special summon Palladium Oracle Mahad from my hand." I revealed my Palladium Oracle Mahad card then placed the card into the slot.

I immediately summoned him in attack mode.

"WHAT?!" Everyone shouted.

A card they have never seen before. A formidable ancient sorcerer appeared and looked down on my opponent.

Even Dark Magician Girl seemed taken aback, as I had never used this card against her in our private duels. I have mainly abused red eyes and blue eyes against her, KEK.

"A level 7 monster with 2500 attack points and a special summon with incredible unknown effects. Gojo is showing his ultra rare card." Alexis gulped.

'Well, it's not that surprising why they are surprised. But did you think that was it?' I said in my mind.

"That's not all! I activate another monster card effect in my hand. If a monster with 2500 original attack or defense is normal or special summon to my side of the field. I can special summon Chronicle Magician from my hand!" I played my monster card onto my duel disk again.

Another special summon. This monster is also a level 7 monster with 2500 attack points.

"Another one?!?" Everyone shouted.

'There are four cards left in my hand. That's not enough.'

"I use pot of greed and graceful charity". I sent the two spell cards into my graveyard.

I drew five cards and then discarded two to the graveyard.

'7 cards. This should be fine.'

[Honey, don't go out, okay?] I told my wife.

[What do you mean by that?]

[You will see.] I responded.

"I will play two polymerization cards as I will be fusion summoning twice. I will fuse both Dark Magician and Blue Eyes White dragon. Then Dark Magician Girl and Red eyes Black dragon from my hand." I send the six cards in my hand to the graveyard.

[Ha… So that's why.] She facepalmed. After realizing Gojo didn't want to show the genuine Dark Magician Girl spirit that is with him.

Right, she can enter the duel because she is that monster and take over the dark magician girl hologram in place.

"No way?!" Everyone thought they were done being surprised. But this was a next level of surprise. 4 legendary monsters known to be wielded by the greatest duelists in the world. Then two new fusion monsters that they never heard of, but know they are just as deadly.

"I summon Dark Magician the Dragon Knight and Dark Magician Girl the Dragon knight in attack mode." I grinned.

Everyone knew Jaden was in trouble.

Dark Magician the Dragon Knight a level 8 monster with 3000 attack.

Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight a level 7 monster with 2600 attack.

"But wait there's more!"

'There is?' They screamed in their mind.

"With my last card, I use my soul servant spell card. This spell card allows me to place any 1 card from the graveyard, hand, or deck that mentions 'Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl' on top of my deck."

As I sent the card to the graveyard, I made a gesture of a card in my deck I wanted and placed it on top of it.

They couldn't help but think it was a clever move to set up for a card I wanted the next turn as they watched me use that rare spell card. They had no idea the extent of my strategy and the surprises I had in store for them.

"Now I will use the soul servant again."

"?????" Jaden was confused as to how I can use it twice.

"During my main phase, when soul servant is in my graveyard, I can banish soul servant, then draw cards equal to the number of "Palladium" monsters, "Dark Magician", and or "Dark Magician Girl" with different names on either side of the field and in the graveyard. And I am counting 3." I explained as I drew my 3 cards.

Jaden paused for a moment to reflect on the situation. He reasoned that Gojo, more so than Zane, was the most challenging opponent in Duel Academy. His spine tingled with realization. It was becoming clear why rumors about Gojo could compete with those of legendary duelists. Rather than fear, this revelation sparked a spark of determination in him. He was determined to gain as much knowledge as possible from this experience and improve as a duelist.

"He's not going to summon anything crazier, is he?" Syrus nervously watched.

"I normal summon Chronicle Sorceress!" I declared as I placed this monster onto the field. A white magician girl appeared and made a pose. This monster is a key part of my strategy, I needed one more spellcaster that I can use as a material. And now it's here.

"Another Chronicle…" "Jaden!" The onlooker gasps. They definitely know this card has some effects.

"It's fine, I am not even going to activate her effects."

"Oh!" Jaden was surprised but didn't bother to question why.

'After all, he doesn't have time to think about the monster I just summoned but my lineup of monsters. He doesn't have a full countermeasure. It's an army and I have summoned all 5 monsters on my first turn. He has a way to defend against one! And maybe two if I walk into his trap. But that won't defend him against the remaining 3. I bet he is thinking if only he had mirror force, right now.'

A/N: Jaden's face down is a hero counterattack trap card.

'I know Jaden doesn't have the trap card, torrential tribute. His deck isn't like that at all. It's a brick deck right now.' I smiled.

"I have now prepared enough to finally summon one of my strongest monsters!" I announced.

"Hah!?" Jaden and the others were taken back. They had been under the impression that the cards Gojo had just showcased were already the strongest. To them, any one of these cards could easily be considered aces for many duelists, and the fact that there was more to his deck left them astonished.

[What the fuck. These cards exist back in your world?] Dark Magician Girl shuddered as she thought about what I had planned for my next summon.

These card's strength isn't as strong as an Egyptian god card or have the same status as them. But they aren't lacking either. In fact, it's destruction and utilities are what put them on par with them.

"I activate my spell card, Magicalized Fusion!" I announced. The atmosphere in the duel intensified as I made my move.

"By using this spell, I now banish Chronicle Sorceress from my field, as well as dark magician, dark magician girl, magician's rod, and magician's robe from my graveyard." The cards vanished in a brilliant display of light, leaving the field charged with magical energy.

"What is Gojo doing?" "Fusing five monster cards?" "This doesn't look good for Jaden!" The spectators couldn't contain their murmurs and whispers as they watched.

"My true fifth and final monster," I declared, my voice filled with confidence and anticipation.

"Come forth, Quintet Magician!" I exclaimed with a triumphant smile.

Five luminous orbs of mellow light erupted from my graveyard and field in response, each one gracefully circling the others in a spellbinding dance. The lights merged and coalesced as they spun, giving birth to a mysterious magician who emerged from the shadows.

Cloaked in a flowing, ebony robe adorned with intricate arcane symbols, his eyes gleamed with an otherworldly wisdom. A staff, etched with ancient runes, materialized in their grasp, pulsating with latent power. Quintet Magician stood as the embodiment of arcane mastery. It then gave a dark smile towards my opponent Jaden.

Quintet Magician, level 12, 4500 Attack points.

Jaden's eyes widened in disbelief, sweat trickling down his face, yet a determined grin tugged at the corners of his lips. He knows that while this was not his moment, he would have a chance to win in the future.

[Aren't you getting a bit too into this?] Dark Magician Girl voiced her thoughts while observing the duel.

[Probably. I'm invested right now, so I can't help it.] I happily replied in a cheerful tone to her.

"Quintet Magician, destroy all of Jaden's cards now!"

"What!?" Jaden and the others didn't understand but they saw it. The Magician destroys everything on Jaden's field at Gojo's command. His monster and his face down card were destroyed.

"Quintet Magician's effect activates, when fusion summoning with 5 different spellcasters I can destroy all cards on my opponent's field." I explained to everyone.

"Jaden!" Syrus yelled.

"Jaden is wide open… He lost." Alexis gaped. She didn't think Gojo could make Jaden helpless like this. No, it never came into mind.

No one knows how Gojo duels until today. He just pulled combo after combo after combo. And summon monsters after monsters. Perfectly utilized spell cards as it was planned. What's scarier than that is that we don't know any of its effects until he explains when activating it.

In just one turn he has 5 monsters on the field with all of his monsters above 2500 attack points with special effects. Destroy every card on his opponent's side. There was no second or third turn, he really did do what he said. I don't think anyone in the academy can beat him. Perhaps not even Zane, but he should be the only one to put up a fight.

~

[You were hiding this all along. You little rascal.] Dark Magician Girl pouted. She knew most of my strategy, cards and deck too, since we were always dueling against each other. But she never knew I had a magician deck, except for the dragon knights.

[Hey, it's my first time using this deck. I was a spellcaster deck user back in my world, so it's been a while. I still know a thing or two about this deck.]

"Sorry, Jaden. You lost."

"I sure did. Hahaha! Let's do this again sometime then!" Jaden smiled at the upcoming defeat.

"Dunno, if I will take that offer. At least make sure you don't ask in the morning, next time." I replied.

"Quintet Magician, Attack him directly." Quintet charged and attacked him with arcane magic, dropping Jaden's life point to 0 then disappeared. Jaden felt some minor damage going on as he took the attack head on and smiled.

"Dark Magician, attack him directly!"

"Wait, wait, wait what?! You only need to damage my life points to 0! The game is over!" Jaden shockingly asked.

Dark Magician the Dragon Knight still listened to my order and charged to attack him. The dragon's maw went and chomped him before disappearing. Causing Jaden to wince a little.

Syrus and the other were shocked. They were kind of confused about what's going on now.

"Huh? Yeah, I know." I tilted my head at his response.

"Then what are you doing!" Jaden standing back up. Breathing a bit hard.

[Darling?! What are you doing?] Dark Magician Girl questioned this.

[Honey, did you know the pharaoh Atem did something similar like this before? He used a berserker's soul spell card.]

[I know! I am asking what you're doing!]

"Did you know? There's no rule that says I can't keep attacking after hitting zero," I retorted, my expression shifting into a playful yet somewhat menacing grin. "Think of this as a small act of mercy, for keeping me awake in the morning when all I wanted was to go back to sleep, and for enduring your constant, ear-piercing yells." Behind my blindfold, Jaden was able to sense my stern and unsettling gaze on him.

[I wanted to try reenacting what the pharaoh did. He was so cool. Truly, someone to look up to.]

"Dark Magician Girl, go beat him up!" I shouted while smiling. However, this time the monster in question turned back casting a disdainful gaze in my direction. Despite this, she reluctantly proceeded to attack, by lunging at Jaden with a ferocious determination. Smacking Jaden back to the floor.

[Husband! Stop, you're hurting him.]

[Oh, come on. You're exaggerating. This is a hologram projection.].

[You know exactly what you're doing, and you are being mean!] She hit me. She hit me again and again.

"Chronicle Magician finished him!" Ignoring Dark Magician Girl's slaps. This time the white magician just lifted his staff as he walked towards Jaden. I clicked my tongue at the insubordination.

Jaden got up and started running away while laughing, he was heading towards the academy. I chose to remove the card from my disk, causing the white magician to vanish and bringing the show to a close.

'Scary.' Everyone was all shaken by the Gojo's unexpected action they'd just witnessed.

Professor Banner who was also watching this from a distance. Silent, observing and judging. Started heading back himself aware of what was going to happen the next moment.

"Did you guys all think you're free from what's happening next?!" I called out once more, my tone filled with playful menace, as I cast a knowing look in their direction.

"Wait. What?" Everyone's jaw dropped and started to prepare to run.

"Palladium Oracle Mahad, Get'em!"

The magician, Palladium Oracle Mahad, bowed gracefully this time before taking flight and swooping towards the fleeing group. Instead of using magic, he swung his staff without actually hitting anything. Because it didn't want to hurt them, the staff's swishes and swoops were more aimed at intimidating than inflicting harm.

Everyone took off yelling and running to get back to the academy from this morning issue person. The magician disappeared after the group started getting further away from my vision.

"Your professor ain't going to like you guys for skipping class!!" I added curse energy to my voice so they can hear me even from afar.

'I'm not sure why he was staring at our duel from afar. I think he came to pick up the students who were ditching.' I wondered why he was watching while remaining hidden.

[Probably. But Husband. We are going to have a looooooong day. Just the two of us.] Dark Magician Girl coldly said.

[Yes…Dear.] I accepted what's going to happen.
