008 Andrew

Day Three

This time, Annie wasn't so lucky to stay in her guest room all day.

Alexander said he wanted to take her out, and as a guest, she had to listen to him.

Then, he brought her to this golf club.

Annie had never quite understood the sport of golf. A group of people held golf clubs, taking turns swinging and watching a small ball fly out, rolling and entering the hole, then someone else would swing again. It seemed elegant, but the continuous waiting felt dull to her. She couldn't grasp much entertainment in it, but apparently, it was a default pastime for the wealthy.

She didn't know how to play, and Alexander didn't expect her to participate. So she just sat on the side, being a beautiful ornament. But sometimes, being a silent ornament was quite challenging. Because of her extraordinary beauty, she inevitably attracted attention and admirers.

"Are you alone, miss?"

Andrew, upon seeing Annie, immediately felt a sense of brightness and took a few steps towards her, asking this somewhat knowingly foolish question! Clearly, Annie was sitting here, and the one who came with her was now on the golf course. But by asking this way, he could start a conversation without being too abrupt!

Annie shifted her gaze and saw another very charming mature man. He was tall, probably over six feet, and his off-white T-shirt exuded youthfulness and vitality, while his casual sport pants accentuated his long and sturdy legs. His attire was simple, with only a delicate watch on his left hand. His smile didn't seem intrusive, unlike the man named Jack from yesterday, so Annie didn't resist him much and smiled while shaking her head.

Andrew felt delighted and slightly lowered his head, looking at Annie, with a playful smile. "I am Andrew. May I know the lady's name?"

Annie didn't want to speak, in fact, she didn't want to interact with anyone. John instructed her to accompany Alexander for a week, which felt like a bizarre dream to her without any sense of reality. She just wished these seven days would pass quickly so she could return to her real life.

She bit her lip, her face full of annoyance.

Andrew smiled even more warmly, his non-threatening face becoming even friendlier. "Looks like I startled you with my abruptness. I promise I'm not a bad person, let alone a human trafficker!"

"Ha—" Annie couldn't help but laugh. Andrew's expression was so solemn that he even raised one hand, as if he were about to make a solemn vow! It was hard not to feel guilty for not revealing her name.

"Annie!" Her ears turned slightly red as she murmured softly.

He chuckled. "That name suits you perfectly. You seem like a girl from a dream!"

Annie's face immediately blushed. It was the first time someone had used such a beautiful imagery to interpret her name.

Andrew looked at this blushing girl, feeling somewhat surprised in his heart and wondering why, despite knowing J Province so well, he had never seen this girl before? But Annie... Annie... this name seemed somewhat familiar. Where had he heard it? Whose daughter was she?

"Oh, Andrew, you're here too!"

Andrew turned around, seeing Jack, the young master of the Five Group. Their relationship wasn't very deep, but living in the same city and being part of the circle of wealthy young men meant their interactions didn't depend on depth of friendship.

"Jack, how come you have time to come today?!" He shouldn't be sleeping in a woman's bed in broad daylight! Jack was known for loving fun, and his schedule perfectly aligned with the notion of "play". Sleeping during the day, and at night frequenting pubs, nightclubs, and amusement places, so it was rare to see him during the day.

Jack gave a slight smile without answering, walking straight towards Andrew. How could he tell Andrew that his unusual behavior today was because of the little beauty sitting next to him?!

As soon as Annie saw Jack, her face couldn't help but change color. She was young and inexperienced, without knowing how to disguise her emotions. Just seeing Jack made her uncomfortable, and she wanted to run away. As Jack approached, his gaze seemed to inadvertently sweep over her repeatedly, making Annie even more nervous.

She suddenly stood up, her face slightly red, hastily saying to Andrew, "I'm sorry, I... I have to go!"

Without caring about Andrew's thoughts, she turned around and hurried away. Her hurried steps made Andrew quite surprised. These were all astute people, where couldn't they see the hidden agenda? Turning his head, Andrew looked at Jack, seemingly smiling. "Jack, come clean. What's going on between you and Annie? She looks at you like a mouse seeing a cat!"

Jack chuckled softly. Today, he was dressed all in white, with hair styled with wax, giving off the vibe of a prince charming. He lazily sat down where Annie had been sitting just now, casually resting one hand on the railing. Looking up at Andrew, who was standing above, Jack shrugged his shoulders, appearing innocent.

"Andrew, I'm really misunderstood! I just wanted to say hello to her, but as you saw, before I could even speak, she ran away! Hmm, it seems like she's now by the side of a big tree, so her value has risen, and she despises shrimp soldiers like me!"

Andrew was puzzled, frowning. "What do you mean?"

Jack smiled, a smile that everyone understood. "Just that, my friend, don't pretend to be clueless! If you want to play with her, queue up behind me. I'll tell you, this girl, I spotted her first. When Alexander kicks her aside, she'll be mine!"

Alexander... She had a relationship with Alexander?!

Ah! Andrew finally understood! No wonder he felt Annie's name was familiar, seeming to have heard it somewhere. So, she was the daughter John had given to Alexander two days ago!

Tsk tsk! Originally thought to be a pure little white flower, but unexpectedly, she was a butterfly that anyone could pick! Well, then there was no need to treat her with courtesy!

Andrew's eyes flashed with a playful glint as he said to Jack, "Sorry, I have something to attend to, I'll take my leave!"

Jack nodded.

Andrew gracefully turned around, but coincidentally walked in the same direction as Annie.

Jack watched Andrew's departing figure, his mouth lifting into a smirk, a mischievous glint flashing in his eyes.

The show was about to begin. Alexander, let me see what skills you really possess!
