Getting the Marriage Certificate

Chu Yi Chen's dark eyes stared at the woman by the door for a long while. Just as Gu Xiao Xiao was about to tuck in her tail in and run away, he slowly spoke.

"You sure you want to marry me? You want to be my wife?"

"I am certain," Gu Xiao Xiao answered him calmly.

Chu Yi Chen lowered his head to check the time on his watch. After a moment of thinking, he said, "I'll take you to pick up your documents and we can go to city hall."

Gu Xiao Xiao looked at him in disbelief. For him to answer with such certainty and so quickly made Gu Xiao Xiao feel like she was about to fall into a giant trap.

Plus, because she has been taking care of errands, her identification and other documentation have been in her bag. After hearing what Chu Yi Chen had to say, she felt her heart rise to her throat and she felt like she was inflicting death upon herself.

"What is it, are you afraid?" Chu Yi Chen asked with a soft smile.

"What's there to be afraid of?" Gu Xiao Xiao raised her chin. "I have my identification on me! Let's go right now."

Within a few short minutes, much to Gu Xiao Xiao's disbelief, she was already sitting in his car.

Her two hands clenched tightly onto the seat belt as Gu Xiao Xiao made every effort to keep her distance from Chu Yi Chen.

"You… why did you agree to marry me?" Gu Xiao Xiao asked, feeling extremely unsettled. She asked with much worry, "Are you a panderer?"

Property in these areas is very expensive. His place looked around 200 square meters – that's not something normal people can afford.

Chu Yi Chen glared at her from the side, obviously finding her question insulting.

"You are missing a husband and I am missing a wife. Do you need other reasons?"

The silence was suffocating. As they got closer and closer to city hall, the regret Gu Xiao Xiao was feeling was growing stronger and stronger.

The car finally stopped. Gu Xiao Xiao looked outside and cried tearlessly. Her nerves made her seem like a tiny white rabbit who just ran into a giant grey wolf.

"Chu Yi Chen. I told you my name last night, but I assume you have forgotten." The magnetic sound of his voice arose again, forcing Gu Xiao Xiao to snap her head back and look at him subconsciously.

Gu Xiao Xiao sat hesitantly in her seat but in the end, Chu Yi Chen dragged her out of the car.

One can say that back at his home, Gu Xiao Xiao had suggested marriage. But for them to have come this far was completely out of Gu Xiao Xiao's control.

Within a short day, she had somehow transformed from a side-chick who was just dumped, to a married young wife. This dramatic transition was a little difficult for Gu Xiao Xiao to accept.

Their marriage certificate was now in her hand and it made her feel dizzy. She felt like she was standing on the edge of the cliff and was about to fall anytime.

"I have a flight to Shanghai at three. I don't know when I will return. You take a taxi back and I will reach out to you after I return."

Chu Yi Chen stood by Gu Xiao Xiao and eyed her soft hair. Then, he turned around to leave, leaving behind Gu Xiao Xiao to stand there alone in the wind.

Gu Xiao Xiao stood before city hall for a long time. She felt the cold wind blow and her anxious expression made everyone who walked by wonder if she had just been abandoned, or if she was here for a divorce.

After she returned to school, she found her dorm room to be empty.

Gu Xiao Xiao lied down on her bed and studied the marriage certificate again and again. She felt like this was a dream.

She had gotten this from the government herself; there was no way it was fake.

But why do the people in the photograph look so unrealistic?

Gu Xiao Xiao's fingertip gently brushed around Chu Yi Chen's frame. His delicate features could be described as handsome.

She had just gotten married. In such a rushed and confusing manner, she had married a complete stranger. For her to do this, she must be crazy!

After hesitating for a long while, Gu Xiao Xiao still didn't know who to tell this "good news" to. In the end, she still took out her phone.

The call connected and the familiar voice from the other end of the line reddened Gu Xiao Xiao's eyes.

"Chu Xiao Xi, I got married." Gu Xiao Xiao croaked, her voice was a little hoarse as she told the tale that she, herself couldn't even believe.

"What? Married? With Mu Yun Fan?" The voice from the other side of the line was far more excited than Gu Xiao Xiao's, "Gu Xiao Xiao, are you crazy?"
