Chapter 3: Dawn of a New Hero (Reworked)

-Pizzeria-

Arriving at the Pizzeria at around 3 pm I enter through the front door where I'm greeted by my boss and manager Greg Mcmillan, a 40-year-old with a wife and two young kids, who often come around. Once I'm in the building Greg tells me to get my uniform on and to start cleaning the front and backroom. "Alright Greg I'll get to it," I said. When I get to the locker room and change my clothes, I head to the janitor's closet to get the mop and cleaning supplies.

An hour and a half later after cleaning the backroom, kitchen, and front of the pizza shop, I'm told to handle the cash register and take customers' orders. After an hour of handling customers, I go on break. I take out a sketchbook and draw up potential hero suit designs and after a little while, I come up with a design I really liked.

After finishing work at around 7 pm, it was still sunny and almost sundown, I headed home. At the front door of my home, I take out my keys and I open the door, and walk around, the house seems empty. "Mom seems to still be at work," I say to myself as I walk up the stairs. Entering my room, I put my bag down and sat at the edge of my bed.

Wanting to use my newly awakened powers on criminals, I put together a makeshift suit. Changing into a Makeshift outfit made of a sweatsuit, a bandana, and goggles. I try to focus and start Using my super hearing to find crime in progress, and I hear that a bank is getting robbed, and the robbers are using advanced weapons that seemed to be stolen from Star Labs in the area. Hearing that I jump out the window to fly towards where the robbers were last spotted and get started from there, while flying I was struggling, but I got the hang of it "It's Almost like riding a bike" I say to myself.

Flying towards the location where the robbers were last seen, I use my super sight and not even 5 blocks away, I see a group of 3 running away with what seem to be laser rifles in their hands. Slowly Flying down toward I had a realization that I never learn to land safely and softly, and I yelled "OH NO, SHIT" crashing in front of the bank robber upside down. Startling the robbers one of them points a gun at me and yelled "who the fuck are you" said robber1. Getting the other two robbers to point their guns at me.

Getting up slowly and patting off the dirt on me I tell them "I'm Paragon". All three robbers have confused looks on their faces "who the hell is Paragon" said robber3, "yeah who the hell are you" said robber2. "I'm the hero who's going to put you behind bars," I said. Without giving me a chance to react they start blasting me with a barrage of laser beams, getting hit by a couple of them using my superspeed to dodge them while getting hit by the lasers but they don't burn me or the clothing I'm wearing, leaving me unscathed. Using a Controlled strength so I don't kill them in one blow, I go after one of the robber's punching him in the stomach. Knocking him into the wall with a powerful force leaving him unconscious.

The other two robbers looked shocked seeing their partners being knocked unconscious in one punch, they scrambled to aim their weapons to shoot but knowing what they were going to do I dodged them moving at superspeed, appearing behind them. Leaving them confused about where I was, I cleared my throat. As they turn, I try my best to look imitating "guys I going to give you one chance to turn yourselves in or things are going to get ugly" I said. Ignoring my warning, they aim their guns at me, but before they can put their hands on the trigger, I rush at both and punch them, leaving both unconscious.

Grabbing the three robbers I picked them off and flew towards the police station and dropped the criminals and the money they stole. Before leaving the station one of the officers asks "Who are you" I tell him "I'm Paragon" arising into the sky. Flying home, it's around 7:40 pm, entering through my window I see a message on my phone from mom saying "I will be home at 8" looking at the clock it's 7:45 seeing I made it home in time I sigh in relief.

After changing my clothing I sat on the edge of my bed thinking of how this is my first-time catching criminals, this is how I'm going to make a difference in Detroit. I tell myself this was my wish, I wanted to be a hero so I can't stop now, or my wish would be in vain.
