Usual Suspects!

" The justice league was formed for two reasons. First as an acknowledgement that no single individual no matter how powerful can solve all the world's problems alone. And second to uphold the values of truth liberty and justice. That uh last one's even in the name. These four heroes have sworn to uphold those values."

Superman explained as he and the rest of the league inducted the new recruits on live tv.

The team looked on from the cave joined by a new member, Icon's protege rocket.

" You are watching live coverage of the justice leagues induction of its four newest members. Looks like the entire league has shown up to welcome the new blood everyone from batman to Captain Marvel."

Cat Grant explained to the viewers.

" I'm glad they didn't kick Billy out. And I love the fact there's a ten-year-old on the league!"

Wally joked

" There is?!"

Rocket asked as Wally got elbowed in the ribs from dick.

" Way to keep a secret genius."

Dick said to Wally.

" Hey, she's on the team now!"

Wally retorted

" Superman is now handing out official league membership cards starting with the Atom, Plastic man, and Icon!"

Cat grant explained as superman gave each new member their card.

" You know I was the one to convince Icon to become a hero in the first place. I should be out there celebrating with him not hidden away in here."

Rocket complained

" Welcome to our world."

Kaldur replied.

" Well, I suppose there is an upside too!"

Rocket replied as she stared at kaldur.

" Finally Green Arrow welcomes his former protege speedy now known as Red Arrow to this roster of heroes."

Cat explained

" Way to go Roy!"

Wally yelled in excitement

" At last, he has his wish."

Kaldur stated.

"The first of us to make it. No one will call him a sidekick anymore."

Robin added on much to rocket's annoyance.

" Wait, since when was being a sidekick been a bad thing. You sidekicks were my inspiration."

Rocket stated

" Well, see six months ago it."

Robin was trying to explain before a notification from his watch alerted him to a problem.

" There's trouble!"

Robin yelled.

" Oh, great. Let's go!"

Kai said as he got up from his chair.

The group all got up and headed towards the Zeta tubes to head to the cave. Once there they all changed into their outfits and left in the bioship towards the source of the trouble.

[ Smokey Mountains. December 30. 10:46 EST]

" Are you sure it's her? Are you absolutely sure your positive?"

Artemis asked as the team flew through the freezing mountains.

" See for yourself. This is the security footage from the Ash field regional airport. Facial recognition confirms that's Jade Ngyuen! But you've seen her without her mask on before what do you think?"

Robin asked as he pulled up security images of Jade.

" That's jade! Cheshire!"

Artemis replied

" Agreed! Focus on what she carries. Is that the case you saw in New Orleans? The one that got away?"

Kai asked

" Yes!"

Artemis replied identifying the briefcase.

" Okay, judging from the mugshots that this Cheshire's the bad guy. But what's so important about the case?"

Rocket asked

" Remember the Injustice league?"

Robin asked

" And their giant evil plants? Uh Yeah."

Rocket replied

" The team and the league put them in prison. But their allies still Skeem. And whatever's in that containment case seems important to their plans."

Kai replied

" We had a chance to grab it in New Orleans, but someone screwed up."

Wally said as he eyeballed Artemis.

" Approaching Cheshire's jet. Huh!"

Megan replied as the wreckage of the jet came into view. The sight shocking everyone on board.

" Damn."

Kai muttered aloud.

Artemis closed her eyes to the sight.

" Looks like there was no survivors."

Megan stated as the ship got closer to the crash.

The team placed the ship in standby mode and repelled down towards the site. Once there they began checking the wreckage for signs of life and or clues to where the case could be.

" How come homeland security and NTSB aren't all over this?"

Wally asked

" Cheshire's Id was a league alert. Authorities didn't pick it up and her jet didn't follow the flight plan. Flew under the radar Literally. But the Watchtower tracked the jet and recorded the crash."

Robin replied

" Then why isn't the league here?"

Rocket asked

" Because our boy wonder has some mighty hacking skills and arranged to get the alert first."

Zatanna replied.

" And because Cheshire and that case represent our unfinished business."

Kaldur interjected

" NGh! Where are the bodies?"

Connor asked as he landed near Aqualad.

" Here's one! And it is stunning.

Cheshire stated

" As crazy as you are I gotta admit that body is stunning."

Kai replied

" Aw I missed you too Wonder Boy. Here I brought a present for you."

Cheshire replied as a bunch of field generators and soldiers all came out of the snowy mountains.

" I am flora not Fauna. I foliage not Trees what am I?"

Riddler asked

" Come on you can get this. I am shrubbery not grass what am I? I.."

Riddler toyed as he played out his riddle.

" Ambush!"

Robin replied answering the Riddler's riddle.

" Didn't you think we would be tipped you were on Cheshire's trail? We're tired of your interference kiddies! This is the end game. Ordered from above and executed by you master strategist moah!"

Riddler explained

' Miss martian is everyone linked?'

Kai asked telepathically.

' Yes!'

Megan replied.

' Go!'

" Ekirts Relddir Nwod!"

Kai yelled as the team moved to attack their ambushers.

" Whoa!"

Riddler yelled as a blast of lightning arced towards him. Mammoth took the initiative and stepped in front of the Riddler protecting him from the attack but knocking him back.

" Ekhas siht ebolgwons!"

Zatanna yelled as the snow in the globe shook violently blinding the enemy attackers.

" Blockbuster and mammoth! Okay superboy which one do you want?"

Kai asked

" Let me have Blockbuster."

Superboy replied

" Okay go for it!"

Kai said before rushing into Mammoth and knocking him into a mountain. Kid Flash, Robin and Aqualad all began taking down the grunts.

' Aqualad the pylons!'

Kai said telepathically signaling for aqualad to destroy the pylons trapping them.

' On it!'

Aqualad replied.

Artemis engaged Cheshire firing multiple explosive arrows at the woman as she dodged around.

" It's like old times dad pitting us against each other."

Cheshire said reminiscing on her and Artemis's childhoods as she attacked her sister with her swords.

While those two were fighting Wally, Rocket and Miss Martian continued taking down the grunt soldiers, who had been using some kind of electricity weapon to attack them. One of the grunts managed to land a resounding hit on Rocket.

" Ahhhhhh!"

Rocket yelled in pain as she was hit by the electrifying blast.

Robin seeing the girl being attacked quickly disposed of her attacker kicking his head in violently. Kai seeing the woman suffering flew over to her and grabbed the electric disc hurting her. He put his hands around it and slowly crushed the device into his palms and freeing the young woman.

" Thanks."

Rocket replied as she got to her feet.

" No problem."

kai responded

" YAaaarh!"

Mammoth yelled as he landed near the two and punched Kai away.

" Right forgot about you."

Kai said as he jumped back onto his feet.

" RAAAgh!"

Mammoth yelled as he rushed Kai. Kai flew towards the man avoiding one of his fists and slammed his own into Mammoth's jaw planting him into the ground hard knocking him out cold.

" That's one down! HUH?!"

Kai asked as he heard a yell above.

" RAhhhh!"

Superboy grabbed blockbuster and flew into the air with the monster.

' SB! You're flying!'

Robin stated in shock.

" RAAAAH!"

Superboy yelled as he tossed Blockbuster into the barrier trapping them, electrocuting the man. He followed Mammoth on the way to the ground and blasted him with heat vision. And then proceeded to beat Blockbuster viciously into the mountain. Punching him repeatedly in the chest driving him further and further into the mountain. As he did so the mountain shook and caused a small avalanche.

" ARTEMIS!"

Cheshire yelled as she pushed her sister out of the way of the incoming Avalanche.

" Okay fine! We're sisters. I don't actually want you dead."

Cheshire said to Artemis before slipping away from the battlefield.

' SUPERBOY! ENOUGH!'

Kai ordered Telepathically.

While that was going on Robin attacked Shimmer and Riddler, drawing their attention with a smoke bomb before capturing Shimmer with one of his gadgets. Once the woman was tied up Robin rushed through the smoke and punched the woman hard in her chest making her entire body bounce on and off the mountain hard, effectively knocking her out cold.

" Tekcajtiarts!"

Zatanna said. Her spell trapping Riddler in a straitjacket.

" No No, I am not the straight jacket type. I am strictly Belle reve. Not Arkham!"

Riddler complained while falling over.

" Gag Mih!"

Zatanna said. Her spell Gagging Riddler.

" Is it always like this?"

Rocket asked Zatanna.

" Yeah, pretty much. Hguone htiw eht ebolgwons!"

Zatanna said instantly making the snow stop.

" Superboy! What the hell was that?"

Kai asked as he approached superboy angrily.

" Hey, I got the job done, didn't I?"

Superboy replied

" Yeah, and almost flattened Artemis. In the process. When we get back to the cave you are going to tell me what's going on, there is no room for debate!"

Kai said before storming off towards the bioship.

[ Mount Justice. December 30th. 15:45 EST]

" Tell me if this sounds familiar. Yu hacked League systems, disobeyed protocol, and endangered your lives."

Batman stated as he and a few other leaguers all stared at the team.

" And your initiative resulted in the capture of three escaped felons, proving Warden strange runs belle Reve as a network for criminal activity. Well done."

Batman and the others praised the team.

" And then there's this. Biotechnology integrated with some sort of nano circuitry."

Batman explained as they looked at the contents of the case.

" Though I am unfamiliar with this species. The biocomponent is clearly not of earth!"

Icon stated.

" We'll take it to the watchtower for further study."

Batman said as he and a few other leaguers.

" Hey, Billy glad to see you guy didn't get kicked out."

Kai said as he stopped Captain Marvel.

" Thanks Sentry, you know your name came up too."

Captain Marvel stated making Kai smile.

" Really?!"

Kai yelled in excitement.

" Yeah, you got seven votes. you were so close."

Captain Marvel sated

" Really seven. Who voted for me?"

Kai asked. Excited that he was voted for in the first place. Black canary overhearing the conversation tried gesturing for Billy to be quiet.

" Well, there was Me, canary, Zatara, Red tornado, Martian Manhunter, And Hawkman and Hawkwoman."

Captain Marvel said as he listed excitedly off all those who voted for Kai. However, his excitement died down when he saw the disappointed look on Kai's face.

" You mean Diana didn't vote for me? Why"

Kai asked his excitement over the prospect of being a potential league member suddenly vanishing.

" I don't know why. She never said."

Captain Marvel replied as he scratched his head. Clearly seeing he made a mistake.

Black canary made her way over to the two and placed her hand on kai's shoulder.

" Most of us agreed you weren't old enough yet. Even Green lantern who had voted for you earlier changed his vote because of your age. Don't worry, keep doing what you're doing, and you'll be with us in no time."

Black canary explained trying to cheer the boy up.

" Yeah, sure. You guys go have fun."

Kai replied as he brushed the woman's hand off his shoulder. he turned and joined the rest of his team as the rest of the leaguers left.

" Dude! You were a nominee for the justice league!"

Wally yelled excitedly.

" Yeah, seven votes. And not one of them was from my mentor. Isn't that great."

Kai replied solemnly.

" Whatever, it's in the past for now we have business to take care of."

kai stated

" What do you mean?"

Wally asked

" You know we were set up right?"

Robin asked

" Yes! Cheshire and Riddler were tipped and ready for us."

Kaldur replied

" Not the mole thing again!"

Artemis stated as she slapped herself in the face.

" Mole thing? Again?"

Rocket asked

" We had intel there was a traitor on the team."

Wally replied answering the woman's question.

" Namely Artemis, Megan, Or ME!"

Connor stated aggressively.

" It is more complicated than that. But your recent attitude concerns me. Your attack on blockbuster nearly killed Artemis."

Kai stated.

Superboy turned his back from the group and began to walk away. Suddenly he and Kai both grabbed their heads in pain as a familiar noise pounded against their ears.

" Superboy! Kai!"

Kaldur called out as the two grabbed their heads in pain.

" I have something to take care of."

Superboy stated as he began to walk out of the cave though before leaving, he suddenly stopped and turned towards the group.

" There's something I need to do. Something I need to tell you. Last month, on thanksgiving, I went back to Cadmus. Found a few things out. When I was cloned only half the DNA was superman's the other half was human. That's why I don't have... Will never have full kryptonian powers."

Connor explained

" You sure? Cuz you sure seemed to have them today.'

Robin replied

" I've been using these shields. They suppress my human DNA. I get the flight, the heat vision, but I think I also get angry. Well, Angrier. I'm sorry."

Connor explained

" Where did you get those?"

Kai asked

" From my human father, Lex Luthor."

Connor stated making everyone's eyes go wide.

" Lex Luthor is your dead?"

Robin asked

" He summoned me to Santa Prisca."

Superboy explained.

" Uhhh Listen! Superboy's not the only one suffering from bad DNA."

Artemis said as she walked to the center of the room. She pulled up the criminal database and three images appeared. One of huntress, Sportsmaster, and Cheshire.

" My mother is Huntress an ex-con. The rest of my family aren't even Ex. My dad's sportsmaster and he's sending my sister Cheshire to fly me to Santa Prisca too."

Artemis explained.

" That's why."

Wally started

" Yeah, I was desperate to make sure none of you found out."

Artemis stated

" I knew!"

Robin stepped forward and spoke.

" So, did I!"

Kai interjected as he looked at the woman with a smile on his face.

The team shocked by the revelation all looked at the two in shock.

" What? I'm a detective and he's got the wisdom of a goddess."

Robin replied as Kai shrugged his shoulders.

" But like I told you from the beginning. It doesn't matter, you aren't your family. You're one of us!"

Kai explained making Artemis smile. Wally approached Artemis and placed his hand on her shoulder.

" So, who's next?"

Wally asked jokingly.

" I am!"

Megan replied.

" I swear I was kidding!"

Wally stated as he held his hands up in the air.

" Queen bee's been blackmailing me. She wants me in Santa Prisca too."

Megan stated

" Blackmailing? How?"

Kaldur asked

" She knows my true Martian form."

Megan stated

" Bald Megan? Who cares."

Robin started

" No.!"

Megan replied. She took a deep breath and then began to morph into her ture form. A white Martian. Her form making everyone but Kai, Aqualad, and Superboy gasp in shock.

" Whoa!"

Rocket whispered.

" I realized you would never accept me if you'd saw what I really am."

Megan stated

" Megan, did we truly seem so shallow?"

Kaldur asked

" I couldn't take the chance. Being a white Martian among the green on mars I endured constant rejection. I couldn't I face that."

Megan explained sadly before being cut-off.

" From me?"

Superboy asked as he grabbed Megans hand.

' I've known since we mind melded last September in bialya.'

Superboy stated

' But that was before we became a couple! Why didn't you say anything?'

Megan asked

' I figured you would tell me when you were ready.'

Superboy replied.

" That's nice and all. But what are we going to do now?"

Rocket asked

" Simple, we're going to do exactly as they asked. You are all going to go where you were asked. While the rest of the team will follow you in silence."

Kai explained.

After hearing the plan, the team proceeded to Santa Prisca and waited for the three others to arrive.

" Wait for the signal."

Kai whispered to everyone else.

Kai watched as the three played their parts perfectly and once blockbuster and bane attacked the team joined in.

" That's the signal take them down!"

Kai yelled as he and the others all joined in the battle

" Hey, Lex nice to meet ya. Yeah, you're under arrest."

Kai joked as he approached Luthor.

" You think you can arrest me? Talk to my lawyer's kid. Mercy!"

Lex called out as Mercy's arm morphed into a laser weapon. She fired at the Kai, but the blast just bounced off.

" Yeah, no. Ekirts reh htiw Gningthgil!"

Kai spoke as a bolt of lightning came out of his palm and fried Mercy unconscious.

" How's that? ARGH!"

kai grunted as superboy was launched into him by blockbuster.

" Didn't we take this guy down once today? Why do we have to do it again?!"

Kai yelled as he got to his feet.

" Together?"

Superboy asked

" Together!"

Kai yelled as he and superboy rushed the giant blockbuster. The two hit him with an uppercut knocking the brute of balance.

" RAAHH!"

Blockbuster yelled

" You should really learn to channel that anger."

Superboy stated before he and Kai knocked him out.

' Aqualad! Artemis now!'

Kai ordered.

Artemus Leapt into the air as Aqualad created a swamp underneath Sportsmasters feet trapping

" Ugh! JADE!"

Sportsmaster called out to for help.

" Sorry dad in this family it's every girl for herself."

Cheshire replied before leaving sportsmaster behind.

" JAAADE!"

Sportsmaster yelled for.

Artemis wwalked over to the man and konced him out with a kick to the face.

" Where's Luthor and Bee?"

Kai asked as he and superboy carried blockbuster over to the other knocked out villains.

' They escaped."

Kaldur replied

" Oh well"

Kai said as he shrugged his shoulders.

" It is always like this."

Rocket said as she joined the others

" Well, Disaster averted. Feeling the Aster."

Robin stated

" Agreed! This has been a good day."

Kai replied

" Now, then let's go and rest up."

Kai said as he watched the sunrising in the distance with a smile on his face.
