Downtime!

" Mmm? What happened?"

Kai asked as he began to wake up.

' This feeling it's so soft. I don't remember falling asleep. The last thing I remember was going to see Donna and I definitely don't remember coming back home. Then who's bed am I in and what am I feeling right now?'

Kai wondered

" Mmm."

Kai heard a voice next to him moan.

' I am afraid to open my eyes right now.'

Kai thought.

' I better just rip this band aid off.'

Kai thought. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. What he saw when he did scared his soul out of his body.

' Ahhhh! I selpt in Donna's bed!'

Kai yelled in his inner mind.

Kai sat in silence as he watched the woman sleep.

" I never got a close up look on donna's face, she's actually really beautiful."

Kai said as he watched the woman sleep. Taking in the sight of peace on the girl's face.

' I should go.'

Kai thought.

As kai moved to get out of bed Donna pulled him back in.

' Damn she's strong! Is she still sleeping?'

Kai asked as he struggled against the woman's grip. After some time, he gave up completely and accepted his situation. Seeing no way-out kai went back to sleep in the woman's arms.

' In all honesty I really don't want this to ever end.'

Kai thought as he wrapped his arms around the woman returning to his peaceful slumber.

A few hours later. The two young teens were awoken, not by normal means. They didn't awake with time. No, they were awoken by the loud yells of Wonder woman.

" Hey, you two wake up!"

Diana yelled as she walked into Donna's room. Her yelling causing Donna and Kai to jump up from the bed. Kai himself falling out of it backwards.

" Diana!"

Donna yelled

" I'm sorry I didn't."

Kai started as he tried to explain their current situation.

" What are you apologizing for? It's dinner time. Hurry up and get ready to eat."

Diana said as she left donna's room.

" Okay, that wasn't what I was expecting."

Kai stated with a confused expression on his face.

" Yeah."

Donna respomded.

" Uhm Donna?"

Kai called

" Yeah kai?"

Donna asked

" About last night and today. I'm sorry."

Kai apologized.

" It's okay. I'm just glad you're okay."

Donna responded.

" You aren't mad I slept in your bed?"

Kai asked

" I was the one who pulled you into bed with me in the first place. Though I was surprised you came to me in the first place."

Donna responded.

" It was my first time seeing someone die. I mean I've been around death before, but I never really saw someone die, let alone a hero. It was hard for me to deal with, and I needed someone I could talk to. I didn't want to bother the team. And I know how strong you are so I couldn't think of anyone else who I would be able to talk to. Thank you for staying with me Donna I appreciate it."

Kai explained, his words making the woman blush.

" It was no problem. We're friends, right? I'll always be here for you."

Donna responded with a smile on her face making Kai blush and smile in return.

" Now come on Diana made dinner. Let's go"

Donna said as she pulled the boy out of her room and towards the dining room.

" What took you two so long?"

Diana asked

" Sorry sister."

Donna said

" Diana, I gotta ask are you really not mad about this?"

Kai asked in confusion.

" Kai, I heard from batman about what happened. I understand you're reasoning. I am not happy about it, but I know you wouldn't have hurt my sister. I can forgive you this time considering the circumstances. Though I must ask if you are going to sleep here in the future, please let me know and I will set up a place for you to sleep."

Diana explained, her tone one of compassion and serenity.

" Thank you, Diana. I am sorry for sneaking in, but Donna was the only person...I mean she's the only person...I didn't want the others to see me cry like that. Donna was the only person I could let see that side of me."

Kai explained.

' I promise I won't do it again."

Kai stated.

" I forgive you Kai. Now let's eat."

Diana said with a smile.

" YEAH!"

Donna and Kai both yelled in excitement.

The trio enjoyed their time together spending their night with laugh and cheers until it was time for Kai to go.

" Thank you, Diana, again I'm sorry for the mess I caused"

Kai stated.

" Kai let me ask you something."

Diana said as she looked at the boy.

" Sure."

Kai responded.

" What do you think about my sister?"

Diana asked. Her question making Kai jump in nervousness.

" Wha...What do you mean Diana?"

Kai asked stumbling over his words as he did with his feet.

" I want to know what you think about my sister plain and simple."

Diana asked.

Kai stood there for a moment thinking on how should answer the woman's question. Should he make something up? Does it matter? In the end Kai simply chose to speak his mind.

" Donna is amazing plain and simple. Everything about her is just amazing. Her skills as a warrior are amazing. I mean just look at how she moves it almost seems like I'm watching her dance. And her strength is nothing to joke at either. She's the perfect warrior. Well, at least she's much stronger than I could ever hope to be. But that doesn't cover who she is as a person. She's kind and compassionate, Caring, loving. She's funny and smart. And I've never seen a woman more beautiful than her in all my life. And yes, she does have her flaws. Sometimes she can be brash and angry, but those imperfections of her are exactly why I've come to enjoy being around her like I do. You asked me what I think of your sister. I think she's absolutely Amazing, Diana."

Kai explained truthfully that big smile of his glowing, spreading light around the room.

" That was beautiful young man. Thank you for being honest with me. I'm sure Donna would have loved to hear that. I suppose it is time for you to get back to the cave now. Take care Kai be safe."

Diana said as she gestured for the young man to head home.

" Thank you, Diana. For giving me this chance. For teaching me, and for allowing me the honor of getting to know Donna. She means a lot to me."

Kai spoke as he left for the cave.

" You're welcome, Kai. Did you hear all of that donna?"

Diana asked as she turned around to see her sister hiding behind the wall.

" Yeah!"

Donna replied as she wiped tears from her eyes.

" You big Idiot. I wish you would have said all that to me."

Donna said as she watched Kai's outline disappear into the night sky. His mind now free of worries and sorrow.

' Such beautiful words young man. I thought you said my sister was a demon.'

Athena whispered in amusement.

' I was wrong Athena. I couldn't have been more wrong in my life. Thank you for telling me to keep my mind open to her.'

Kai thanked as he flew through the air.

" Ahhh! Young love. Take care of my sister kai."

Athena said as she watched the boy fly from Mt. Olympus.

" He is something ey Athena?"

Hermes asked

" Yes, Hermes. We have chosen a great champion."

Athena responded.

" Yes, now it is up to us to help guide him down the right path."

Hermes responded.

" I don't think we have to worry about. As long as my sister is at his side. I doubt he'll turn from the light."

Athena stated

" Are you so sure?"

Hermes asked.

" I have seen how the two care for one another. In such short time they have grown closer together than they have with anyone else. They'll keep each other grounded I believe in them."

Athena stated.

" Time will tell. Time will tell."

Hermes responded.
