'She's....here.'
Blake thought as he stood inside of his work space, specifically Feast. He was standing atop of the second level on the stairs, gazing down to see Avril Kincaid walking in. She still looked as wonderful as ever, though she was quite clueless as she looked around. Blake fixed his hair before walking down the steps. His eyes remained locked onto her, he almost couldn't look away before bumping into someone. "Sorry." he apologized before continuing to move forward as if that didn't happen. That's when he found Avril watching one of the few TVs that they had in the main lobby for everyone. "Excuse me?" He called, gaining Avril's attention from the TV. Her long braided brown hair still hung over her shoulder facing the front of her.
She gave him a slight smile before waving. "Hey um, I was sent over here if I needed a place to stay." She greeted, causing Blake to return the smile and hold his hand out to her. He was significantly taller than her, having been working out due to Diana's tutelage as well as being the Champion of Midgard. Being Thor came with it's perks it seems. His red hair was combed back, showing showing he was anticipating Avril's arrival. "Well you came to the right place, let me show you around", Blake said, then gestured for her to follow him, "My name's Blake by the way." Avril gazed around, taking in her new environment. "Avril", She replied, "Do you have any sort of ties to Thor?" The question came out of nowhere, luckily it wasn't the first time Blake hadn't had that question pointed at him.
Blake glanced back at Avril and smirked before shaking his head. "If I was a friend of Thor, don't you think that he'd have me as his guy in the chair?" He asked, causing Avril to give him a confused look, "You don't read comics do you?" Avril shrugged, causing Blake to chuckle back at her.
"Basically it means that I'm the one telling Thor where to go, but if I was then I'd be working somewhere else."
Avril raised a brow at Donald and smirked. "So you're saying that you're friends with Thor?" She asked and watched Donald give her a shrug. "I'd say that we're acquaintances, we only talk whenever he sends someone our way."
Donald eventually walked up a flight of stairs with Avril walking by his side now. "Anyway, this is where everyone sleeps at", Donald gestured towards quite a few bunk beds ahead, "Lucky for you there is one room that is pretty much waiting for you to settle in." With that, Donald guided here towards the other side of the Second floor. The two teens came across a closed door, and with a turn of the knob by Donald, they entered. Donald found the light switch and flipped it, illuminating the room that they were in. It was as spacious as a hospital patient room, with several bunk beds inside of it. Though these beds were empty and with no one staying in them. Avril walked inside, getting a feel for the room. "We try to keep men and women separate so they can have their space." Donald stated while watching her.
The red headed teen leaned his shoulder on the doorframe, his hands going to his pockets. He had a slight smile sporting his face as Avril walked over towards the nearby window. "It'll do, can't say that I like the color though." She commented then turned her attention back to Donald with a small smile. The two stood there in silence before Donald noticed that she had just spoken to him. "Oh well, can't really change the color at the moment." He replied.
Avril nodded then set her bag down on one of the bunk beds. "So, you go to school?" Donald asked, trying to continue any small talk with her. Avril shook her head then let out a sigh. "No, got my GED a year ago to look after Rick." She replied.
"So, whose Rick?"
"A guy who came in to look after me", she pursed her lips before continuing, "He was a scientist, pretty cool guy once you get past his nerdy parts."
"What about you 'guy in the chair'?" She joked while going to sit on the bunk bed with her bag. Donald smirked when she called him that then shrugged at her.
"Well I'm still in school, I'll be graduating high school eventually." He stated and watched Avril shake her head at him.
"Not the boring stuff, I mean you."
"What about me?"
"I want to get the know the 'guy in the chair'."
That sentence almost got Donald to freeze up. It took him a few seconds to register that response before moving off the doorframe that he was leaning on. "Well, not much to know about me."
"Try me."
"Alright you asked for it....I'm a geek who has a bad time with making friends with 'normal' people." He surmised for her.
"So what you're saying is that you're above the average Joe who looks down at their phone all the time?" She asked with a genuine smile now.
With a nod from Donald, she let let out a sigh of relief. "Then we'll get along just fine."
Before Donald could go to answer that, he started to get contacted through his hidden earpiece. He knew exactly what that meant, and before he could try to come up with some excuse. The building rumbled, hinting that something was going on outside. Without waiting, Donald dashed out of the doorway and towards the stairs. He was going to the roof, aiming to transform into Thor where no one could see him. "Blake!" Avril called as she exited her new room. All she saw was the red headed teen going up the stairs in a rush.
Donald made it to the top of the FEAST building, then he took out the pin that was Mjölnir in disguised. Within the blink of an eye, lightning came down and transformed him back into Thor. Thor winded up Mjölnir, twirling it around rapidly. Then swung forward, sending him off into the sky like a bullet fired from a gun. Once in the air, he saw what had made that rumbling. It was a group of aliens, well at least one of them appeared to he human. Said human looking alien stood forward wearing a golden helmet.
"People of Terra, I am Captain Glori of the Kree Empire!" Announced the alien, "We are the Lethal Legion, and we are here for the Quantum Bands. Deliver the Quantum Bands to us or we will have to become...violent." At that moment was when Thor came in for a landing in front of the alien group. There were seven of them in total, with each bring a different race. Thor took in their appearances and remained vigilant with a stern look.
"I don't care how you got here, but I am only telling you this once", Thor warned, "Get off our planet, we don't know what you're talking about or whatever this how to do with our planet."
To that, Glori sized Thor up before responding with authority. "The Quantum Bands were tracked to this planet, we sent a Sentry here to retrieve them", He stated then narrowed his eyes fully on Thor, "That said, the last recording sent back to us had you interfering with it's mission."
Thor raised a brow, then remembered last week with the alien robot. "That was your Sentry?" He questioned but got silence as his answer.
"The only reason that I got involved was because your tin can hurt someone, that alone tells me that it wasn't friendly and neither are you." Just as Thor was going to repeat his warning, he felt a presence in his mind.
No, it wasn't a presence, it was as if someone was trying to make him act like a puppet. Thor put a hand to his head and tried to fight it, his eyes locked onto the Lethal Legion before him. Only one of them looked to be trying to do something to him, it was an alien with squid like appendages. "I do not have control over him, however he is occupied." The female alien stated.
"You will be taken in for questioning, do not resist." Glori ordered then moved forward, as well as the rest of the Lethal Legion. Thor however gritted his teeth and to the best of his abilities called forth thunder and lightning. The effort causing a headache to course through his mind. Even so, he raised Mjölnir up slowly as it cackled with lightning. Then pointed it at his adversaries, who gave him a confused look. Lightning came down, striking at the Lethal Legion. Each member either being flung back or taking the blow. "Drall, Blood Brothers", Glori ordered through gritted teeth, "Take him down!"
Three aliens rushed at Thor now as the others were recovering from Thor's attack. The citizens of Northbridge immediately ran the moment that they saw the fight break out. One alien was a tall gray skinned and red haired female. The other two were beige skinned, tattooed, bald headed muscle freaks. "Time to go to sleep sparky!" Taunted one of the twin aliens. To this, Thor with a somewhat clear mind now brought Mjölnir back then swung at the fist that came at him. It collided with one of the twins, sending a shockwave from the blood. Though the two twins were knocked back from the impact of the shockwave. Drall however came at him with skill and strength. She struck at him rapidly with a mace of sorts, their blows meeting with sparks going off. It wouldn't be long before Thor jumped back to get some distance. He wasn't expecting to be fighting aliens, least of all those who had superpowers capable of matching him.
Drall came at him again, a cold glare sporting her facial features. Then with a spin she brought her mace at him horizontally. Thor caught the mace quite easily, but his face was met with a fist from one of the Blood Brothers. The blow sent him stumbling backwards, when he looked up once again, both Blood Brothers sent a devastating left and right hook into Thor. The Thunderer skidded backwards once again then began winding up Mjölnir. One thing that Diana taught him rather harshly was this.
'Never give the bad guys time adapt to you'
When there was enough momentum, Thor hurled Mjölnir at the three aliens. Drall of course ducked but the Blood Brothers were knocked into a building with Glori narrowly dodging. When Thor called Mjölnir back, it instead stay floated in the air. This confused Thor greatly, to the point that he thought that he was just seeing things.
"Oh, is this yours?" Taunted another alien.
Thor turned his attention towards a brown skinned alien with a red and black suit. They had an impish smirk plastered on their face and a Megamind for a head. A hand from them was outstretched towards Mjölnir, showing that he was controlling the mighty weapon.
"Here, have it back!"
When the alien said that, he moved Mjölnir into cracking into Thor's stomach. He continued this action until the man was sent through a building and out of the roof. Thor groaned, feeling as if he was being punched by Mjölnir. Which in technicality was true in some regard. With little to no effort, he grabbed Mjölnir by it's hilt and took control of it once again. Without another moment's waste, he charged back down towards the street. Blood was going down the Thunderer's nose, showing that these aliens had seemingly harmed him. When Thor came down, he called upon the lightning once again. As soon as he did this, his mind was being wrecked with an even bigger headache.
A ringing sound entered his ears as he felt the squid link alien trying to make him forcefully go to sleep. However, Thor still powered through try to stay up. Unfortunately, the rest of the Lethal Legion would not allow him the time to fight off their compatriots mental attacks. Glori came in with an uppercut that sent Thor stumbling into a Full Nelson by one of the Blood Brothers. The other Blood Brother came in with a knee to Thor's stomach and a left hook into his cheek. Drall came in with a downward strike from her mace, before the Blood Brother did a suplex on Thor. The action causing the very street to crack once Thor's head collided with it.
Surprisingly, Thor was still conscious and was already beginning to stand up once again. Just as the Lethal Legion was about to deliver an even more devastating beat down to him. A golden blast came from behind Thor, colliding with Drall, Glori, and Metal Master. Thor glanced back and felt his eyes widening a bit. It was none other than Avril, who looked amazing in space spandex!
"Get away from him!" She demanded while flying in wearing her own costume.
She came to Thor's side with her arms outstretched and the Bands around her wrists hueing with power. Thor noticed this, but decided that they would need to speak about this much later. Thor still feel his headache winded Mjölnir up, then hurled it at the one sending him these mental attacks. The squid alien's eyes widened as the hammer collided with it's dome. Now having been released from the mental attacks, Thor rushed forward without the aid of Mjölnir and attacked the Blood Brothers. They assumed that they were able to defeat him together....of course they were mistaken.
Thor jumped up with an elbow strike into the first twin's nose, visibly break it. For the second twin, he tanked their punch to his face then sent his own haymaker into the Blood Brother's stomach. The blow being quite similar to the one that he gave Blockbuster. With Avril, she was doing her best to contend with the seventh member of the Lethal Legion, Ferene. The blue skinned alien, dressed as a space priestess twirled her swords around while trying to slice into her. Avril was getting more nervous by the second as she used the Bands as her shield. Just as Ferene brought her swords down to carve into Avril. The teen watched as a holden construct manifested itself before her. It was a shield, one that blocked Ferene's attack.
Avril wasted no time to use the shield to bash Ferene then sending a blast from her Bands to knock the alien away. Back with Thor, he had taken care of the Blood Brothers. The both of them were beaten rather harshly. He was now back to fighting Drall who fought him with a new sense of vigor. She swung her mace at him multiple times, scoring several hits. When she went to hit him with a downwards strike once again, Thor caught her mace. The Thunderer then called Mjölnir back to him while she tried to pry her weapon from his grasp. Like before, Metal Master made Mjölnir change directions and go to attack Avril. This time however, Thor spun around and threw Drall Mjölnir. Her body collided with the hammer and knocked it off course from hitting Avril.
Glori and Metal Master were the only two members of the Lethal Legion still standing. A tense silence befell the group now as Thor readied himself. At that moment a light came down, engulfing the Lethal Legion. Thor looked up and became shocked at what he was seeing. It was a starship, bigger than the Empire State Building. He had no idea where it came from, but what he did know was that it was here now. He prepared himself for a fight, but watched as a figure came down with the light. He was as tall as himself, wearing green like armor and wielded an alien like hammer. The alien already looked like he was more in charge than Glori was. He even looked more powerful than the Lethal Legion.
"I am Ronan the Accuser, I have come to give you an ultimatum."
Thor waited for Ronan to continue, having not wiped the blood that dripped from his nose.
"The Quantum Bands that the female over their wields", Ronan pointed at Avril, "Deliver them to us, or we will burn this entire planet into nothing but glass. If you do not think that we are not capable of such a task..."
At those wounds, a whirring sound came from the space ship. Then a powerful energy blast left it, impacting Northbridge Bay. The explosion was like a mini nuke, causing a shockwave that shattered windows. Thor looked on with dread, then back at Ronan who was being engulfed by the light of the ship once more.
"You were warned."
Those were the last words that Ronan said before returning to his ship. Not long after, the ship began to take off into the sky, leaving Earth's atmosphere. Thor looked on, contemplating on what he was going to do. Then turned his gaze towards Avril, the teen looked to him and gave him an apologetic look.
"This looks um...pretty bad huh?"
