Callan chuckled and said in surprise, "How can I not go when my father-in-law asked me to?"
"But..." Savannah wanted to say that he was busy.
"It doesn't matter. I have to go no matter how busy I am. Otherwise, my father-in-law will be angry and won't allow his daughter to be with me. What should I do then?" Callan sounded very relaxed and didn't feel embarrassed because of Walden's censure. "Let's not talk about it first. Time is urgent. I'll go first. Don't worry. I'll be there soon."
"Yes."
Savannah hung up the phone and was relieved. Callan's words gave her a lot of strength.
At a quarter past ten, her children and the nanny were asleep, while Savannah and her father still sat on the sofa in the living room. The doorbell rang.
"Dad, Callan is back!"
Savannah immediately stood up and ran to open the door. Walden sat up straight with a serious look. He had been a professor for a lifetime. When he sat there without speaking, he always gave people a feeling of majesty.
