Due to the open balcony door, Jesse heard the noise.
Just as Gladyce took out the medicine to feed Daisy, Jesse hammered on the door.
"Who's it? What's the matter?"
Gladyce frowned and went to open the door. She was surprised to see Jesse's tense face. "Mr. Lee?"
"How is Mrs. Handerson? Is there anything wrong with her? I heard her scream..." Jesse looked inside worriedly.
Gladyce paused for a moment and then nodded. "She's fine. I gave her some medicine, and she's already asleep."
Jesse's Adam's apple bobbed. "Is there anything I can help with?"
"Thank you. I'll take care of her." Gladyce wondered why he was so nervous about Daisy.
She deliberately asked, "If you're worried, why don't you come in and have a look?"
"Uh?" Jesse was a little stunned and shook his head flatly. "No, it's not appropriate for me to go in... You should go to bed early! I'm glad Mrs. Handerson is all right."
After that, he turned around and went back to his room.
