CHAPTER THIRTY

LEAH/JAMIE'S POV

By midday we were in the air, flying away from my Safe Haven, to the reality that is life.

Logan, Justin and Jer were out in the seating area while Jessy and I were given the bedroom.

"Are you happy Jamie!" Jess suddenly asks me.

Turning on my side to look at her, "why do you ask!" I grinned at her.

Staring upwards, "I just need to know so then my mind can be at ease" she tells me, sounding like the adult here.

Sitting up to stare at her, "What?"

Sitting up to join me, "Do you honestly think you are the only one who worries?" she frowns. "Yes you're our guardian but you are also our sister and Jer and I worried about you too. Jamie, I would sit outside your door while you cried, night after night, because you were afraid you couldn't take care of us." Jess shares with me for the first time. "I just didn't realize until now all the legal stuff attached to you being allowed to keep us and when I found out I understood your tears.

Stunned, unable to respond. Having Jess see me weak isn't how our life was suppose to be.

"Jess, I'm sorry" I apologize but I don't know what for.

Jess leans across holding my two hands, "Jamie, please don't apologize. Right now you're not my guardian, but my sister and that's who I want you to be from now on. I want us to share everything with each other." she says softly.

"Like Logan for instance." she added. "When you returned that first day from the photo shoot. you actually blushed when I ask about the hot model Jer spoke about. You've never done that before that's how I knew he was special, especially when he started popping up all the time " she said as we both started giggling remembering my early days with Logan.

Chuckling, "Yeah he was special even from the beginning." I agreed staring off through the glass window of the plane as the clouds float around in the light blue skies.

"So Jamie, are you happy?" Jess asks me again.

Tears starting to form, threatening to flow, because inspite of the Logan's problem at work which I still cannot share with Jess, I am happy. I'm so very happy that I'm afraid to let my happiness show because the joy stealer will also take it away from me.

"Jamie, I didn't mean to make you cry. I'm sorry" Jess says, wiping the tears on my cheeks that I didn't realize started flowing.

Needing her mind to be at ease, I decided to tell her the truth. "Jess, I am the happiest I've ever been and it's all Logan. I'm afraid. I'm so afraid to be this happy and excited to face another day" I tell her softly.

Confused, "but why? What are you afraid off?" Jess frowns.

"That the joy stealer will come and steal my happiness from me again" I admitted looking down at our joint hands.

Jess draws closer hugging me tightly as we wept silently remembering our love ones whose gone

Feeling familiar arms around me pulling me from Jess's arms, "I'll take over from here" Logan tells Jess.

Embarrass to be caught in yet another vulnerable situation, I tried to get out of Logan's arms. "I'm good now" I told him, but he still refused to let me go.

As Logan hugged me, "why didn't you tell me you're afraid" he questions me softly

Hiccupping, "I'm only afraid to lose you and our life together. I'm happy and everytime that happen.." Logan cuts me off.

"Shush now. I love you and never be afraid talk to me because I'm not going anywhere. It's you and I together forever from now on. Okay" Logan asks softly, but forcefully.

Unable to speak because I felt emotionally drained. Nodding, I moved to take a rest on the bed taking Logan with me.

Kissing me oh top of my head. "just so you know, I overheard most of your conversation with Jessica." Logan says softly as I wished the ground would open up and take me down.

Stroking my back, "I'm here, to help you raise Jerome and Jessica and I'm using that as practice for our future teenagers" Logan chuckles to my dismay.

Blushing once again because of this hunk next to me, "they are going to be one day old before they are teenagers" I said looking at Logan's features.

Chuckling, "you handle them from the time they get in there" pointing to my belly, "and I'll take over from their thirteenth birthday" Logan explains.

I slapped his chest, "I don't believe you just said that" as Logan continues laughing softly.

Babies, my very own babies, with Logan, my helper, my mate.

The pilot's voice came over the intercom, informing us that he's preparing to land.

Sighing, I got up off the bed, leading Logan outside to find seats for us to strap up in, reality already kicking in.

Two cars were awaiting us at the airport with Logan leading me to one and Justin ushering Jer and Jess to another.

I guess we're going our separate ways for now, I thought sadly.

The drive was a quite one and I realize that we were heading in another direction from the penthouse. I looked across to question Logan, but he was staring out the window with a finger under his chin, deep on thought.

He told me to share my feelings with him, but he's shutting me out and I didn't feel like probing.

Turning to the right looking out the other window.

I felt my hands that were resting on my lap, being covered by the much larger ones of my husband, as we entwined our hands looking out our respective windows.

I have no idea what Jer and Jess were up to, but I'm assuming that they went to get their personal items from the house.
