CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THREE

"See that side of me" Logan had side!

Twisting and turning, those words kept nagging me and I don't know how to ask the question. Is this side of Logan, an active part of Logan's life? Is this who he is or who he's become?

Justin called him few hours ago and he hasn't returned yet, which has me wondering worst case scenarios about everything.

Returning to the cabin with a battered and bruised Gwen, sent the household in uproar!

Since I wasn't allowed to climb the stairs, Mrs. Stanley and mom attended to Gwen, bathing and cleaning her wounds before the family doctor visited her, then, attending to the battered and bruised Rico!

Jer who spent all evening in the dark room was livid when he came out and realized what had happen and that Rico was working for Logan's grandfather.

Just as I did, Jer blamed Jess for the assault on Gwen and his anger is slowly turning into hatred, something that scares me.

If Rico wasn't near dead, no one would have been able to stop him from going after Rico.

I silently thanked Logan for taking 'that' out of Jer's hand.

All that thinking has my stomach growling now!

"You hungry baby?" I pat my stomach, caressing it as I continue to whisper to my 'son'.

Using the chair to keep the weight off my spine, I wheeled into the kitchen to find Justin at the table his head down, with a cup of coffee in front of him.

"I hope you're saying some for me" I said wheeling into the kitchen, startling Justin, who, instinctively reaches for his side, then realising it's me, his face relaxes and he slowly removes his hand.

Twitching his lips awkwardly, "why are you up this hour?" he asks, looking at his watch and frowning. "Logan's out there" he says pointing to the backdoor, hesitantly.

Patting my stomach, "my son's hungry, so I thought a snack would help" I wheeled towards the refrigerator, opening the door and poking my head inside.

Chuckling, Justin opens the door wider as he comes to stand behind me. "Son you said!" He repeated and I look up as he stares into the refrigerator, thoughtfully.

"Shift aside, let me make sandwiches for my nephew and I" he offers and I tried to shoo him away but he won't budge.

"I want to help myself" I complained because since the shooting incident, I'm only being waited on. Grams never taught me that and I will no longer allow myself to be served anymore. "Justin!" I squealed, as he wheels me away from the refrigerator.

He started taking out bread, salad, cold chicken and ham cuts with dressings and placed them in front of me and I frown thoughtfully.

"Bring the pickles, peanut butter and nutella" I tell him starting to pull out slices of bread. "Oh and a knife" I added, Turning to see him still standing behind me. "What?" I shout, "chop chop " I said looking at him expectantly.

Justin reluctantly took the items that I requested out of the refrigerator and places them in front of me. "Just so you know, these" he points at the "don't go with those" he says with a disgusted expression, grabbing another knife.

Staring at him in disappointment, "so you don't want me making a sandwich like mines for you?" I ask, innocently.

"F**k no!" He slaps my hand of his bread, helping himself and I paste my sandwich with all my spreads, while Justin makes puking, gagging sounds at my sandwich.

He seemed so disgusted at my blend, while my mouth waters for it, that he refused to heat up, both our sandwiches at the same time.

While we wait for the sandwiches to warm, I made a pot of chocolate tea, my new favorite.

We ate in silence, the only sounds was me making slurping sounds with my sandwich and moaning in delight at every bite, continuing to deliberately disgust Justin.

While Justin packed back the items we used, I continued sipping my tea, patting my stomach.

"My son's filled now!" I chuckle, caressing my belly, with gentleness and so much love.

Taking another mug of hot coffee, Justin comes to sit opposite me, "so you're having a boy?" He commented.

Smiling, I continue to caress my belly, "I hope so, it's just that Logan wants a girl," I lifted my eyes to meet Justin's staring back at me thoughtfully.

"You know why don't you?" He asks me and I frowned, unsure about what I'm suppose to know.

Shaking my head, I wait for him to continue.

"He would love a boy first, but, I think he feels that the baby's life would be in danger, because of his grandfather." Justin explains as my heart shrinks.

Looking down at my baby bump that's growing bigger and stronger each day. I shook my head, anger rising, "why don't you all kill him, once and for all?" I demanded, even though I know it's not Justin's call, but still the man is sick and needs to be put down.

I know, wishing death on anyone is wrong, but when it comes to my child, I will personally pull the trigger.

Laughing softly, "I've often wondered the same thing, but I think there is always going to be someone that he has in place to bring Logan to his knees. So having him around helps our case until we find out who he's in partnership with, we're just sitting ducks." Justin shrugs, while I sit there steaming. How can they just throw this over their shoulder like this?

Scuffing, I didn't respond because I honestly don't understand their way of life and the way they do things.

Lifting his mug to his lips, I notice Justin observing me, "doesn't Logan tell you these things?" Justin asks cautiously and I shook my head.

"Hmm," he nods, "interesting" he mummers, loud enough for me to hear him.

"I'll ask him.!
