CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT

Logan is the angriest I've ever seem him, "control yourself" he yelled shaking me lightly.

After what his mother told me and the way he has changed his views about his grandmother, I didn't care to, control myself.

Wiggling, trying to get out of his grip was useless, but still I tried, while Logan's grip on my arms got tighter, with the promise of visible bruises.

"Why don't you let me go then?" I yelled, my lips and body trembling now as I fought the tears that I felt stinging the back of my eyes, but I am determined, not to cry in front of him.

Logan looks over my head and shook his head, before focusing on me again.

"If you have somewhere to be, why don't you just go and leave me alone." I cried. "Just do what you have been doing for the last few days and ignore me, because that, has been working really great for me." I said, pulling myself backwards, but still he refused to let me go.

Chuckling humorously, "is that what you think I have been doing?" Logan frowned at me, his anger apparently subsiding, while mine is still raging.

Lifting my arms as I still fought to get away from him, "what I think and how I feel is not important to you anymore, it doesn't matter anymore." I retorted in frustration.

Sighing, tired of fighting, I just allowed my body to go limp in his arms and I closed my eyes giving in to the exhaustion and pain.

I was aware of Logan lifting me bridal style and walking briskly towards the cabin, when I heard Jer's voice as it got closer to us.

"If you don't tell her the truth, then I will," I heard my brother threatened.

"She's doesn't trust my grandmother and I can't change that." I heard Logan finally say as he laid me on the bed, believing that I fell asleep.

I felt Logan walking away, but still I didn't open my eyes.

"Justin doesn't trust my grandmother either so I have to accept that, but your friend is the only person who has to gain from my death." Logan whispered, but it was still loud enough for me to hear.

"I'm sorry about that Gray, but Jamie needs to know what's going on. She's not the kind to just hate on someone like that, so if her gut feeling is telling her not to trust your grandmother, you've got to trust her man, you just have to." Jer advises Logan and for a long while both men remained silent while the words that Jer said previously prevails in my thoughts.

'Jer's friend is the only one to gain from Logan's death,' what is that all about?

Why did Jer say to trust Logan?

Is Logan's life in danger?

Confused now, I wonder who is Jer's friend.

I feel into a troubled sleep, unaware of when Logan and Jer left the room and I when I woke up, I work up to an empty room.

I felt excruciating pain as I used the bathroom to refresh myself before going to the kitchen for food.

Mrs. Stanley was alone in the kitchen as is the norm these days with mom at the Fashion House and Gwen doing some household chores and spending time with Jer.

"Hey," I smiled, greeting her as I hobbled into the kitchen holding my perturbing stomach.

Mrs. Stanley looked over her shoulder, away from the pot she was stirring to greet me.

"Morning, sweetheart" Mrs. Stanley greets me with the same endearment as my in-laws. "Lunch is ready, do you want yours now, or you're waiting for Logan?" She asks politely, turning to stir the pot that's bubbling pot.

How long was I asleep?"

"What the time?" I asked curiously since I didn't walk with my phone and gramps never wanted us to time ourselves when on vacation.

Shaking her head from side to side thoughtfully, "I'm not sure, but when Logan came in earlier to say that you fell asleep, it was about twelve fifteen." She frowns, then looks down at her pot and smiled in contentment.

So I must have only dozed off for half an hour or so.

Standing up, I started moving away from the table.

"Where're you going?" Mrs. Stanley turning off the stove, raised her eyebrows at me curiously.

Pointing to my room, "uh, I'm.. my phone" I replied awkwardly, but she smiled at me and stopped me.

"Oh sit back down, I'll go get it for you." Mrs. Stanley chuckles, walking out the kitchen, turning in the direction of my room.

I took my seat, grateful that I didn't have to make that short trip to my room, but despising myself for having to depend on someone, once again.

"Here, you are" Mrs. Stanley places the phone in front of me, "are you ready for something to eat?" She asks moving away to the refrigerator.

I observed the notification light blinking and opened it, while wishing I had not left the Bar-b-que outside.

I wonder what Jer did with it?

Shrugging, "yes, I am hungry" I admitted, "well, we are hungry," I added patting my stomach lightly, but what I won't add is that I am hungry for the lunch I refused earlier.

Opening up my notifications, I saw four miss calls from Judge Delany.

What now? I suddenly felt nervous.

"What's that?" I smile when I smelt Bar-b-que heating in the oven, looking at Mrs. Stanley curiously.

Chuckling, because she also knows I'm a Bar-b-que lover, "Mr. Daniels birthday is today, so he bought lunch for the staff," she explains as I clamped my hand over my mouth.

I didn't know!

Embarrassed, I looked frowned at her. "I.. I am sorry, but I didn't know and I haven't spoken to mom for the past few days now," I admitted, hating myself for being caught up in my own problems that I forgot the other people around me, who mattered.

"Have you made any plans for birthday celebration?" I asked, already mentally planning it.

"Nope."
