CHAPTER FIFTY EIGHT

JAMIE'S POV

I went to tell mom about the last few conversations, Jess and I have been having and Jess's comments about being a burden to Logan in my condition. I also mention her change since Logan got home. She rarely visits me anymore.

Mom was shocked to hear what I was saying but she just nod silently.

Feeling bad for mentioning it, "I'm sorry, maybe it's just hormones that's causing me to see things that are not there" I chuckled.

Shaking her head, "no you're right. You remember what dad told Logan when he was leaving the room last night?" she asks, with a thoughtful expression.

Frowning, because I was in so much pain, "uh, something about Logan being better off without me in the long run?' I ask, hoping that I remembered accurately.

Looking at me thoughtfully, with a huff, "he wants your baby but he doesn't want you" she muses. "I know that mother wants Angela for Logan, but dad, would choose your sister, because if your are guilty about keeping your husband tied to you, you may only give your child to your sister along with your husband." mom, shakes her head in disbelief.

Chuckling "that seems so far fetched" I exclaimed.

"Well now we have a motive for them wanting you to leave Logan, because they know that my son would never leave you first. He loves you too much." mom encourages me.

Nodding in agreement, "now all I have to do is find out why would Jess turn on me. I honestly can't remember, what I did or said that would cause her to go after my husband." I told mom.

Mom started to question me about our childhood and what has been happening between us since I became her guardian.

I told her everything that pop up in my head until mom asked about her boyfriends, that stilled my active thoughts that have been running wild.

Shaking my head, as I try to recall Jess's crushes and loves. Still trying to figure out what could make sense from a past relationship of Jess's.

"I don't know about any serious relationship that she had that I could be blamed for messing up. I would ban her from from dates and parties because of the location and times and yes, she would get upset and sulk but...." I trailed off not knowing where to go from here.

Still unsure, I shook my head,

"There is something somewhere, because she is willing to destroy your marriage by taking your husband and your child and she is just seventeen years old" mom states out, as a guideline for see where my problem with Jess could be.

"Lloyd" I said,

"Who?" mom asks,

"Lloyd, a boy she hooked up with just before grams passed. The night after the funeral, she sneaked off with him. Jer and I called everyone that we knew she knew to find her. She returned the next day and a screaming match started first with her and I and then Jer and her." I told her starting to vividly remember what happen after that night and every month since.

"It was bad" I said, looking at mom, afraid to share what happened incase mom looked at the Scott sisters as bad news.

"Tell me Jamie, quickly before the guys return" mom encourages me.

I glanced back at the entrance, realizing that Logan and Justin were taking rather long to return, but taking a deep breath, I started tell mom what happened then and the consequences of that night. Something Jer and I kept away from our sister.

To say mom was shocked, was an understatement. She was livid.

"Since you haven't been working how have you been handling it?" Mom asked concerned, etched in her face.

"Jer, has been handling it since. He's been using his college funds and his portion of his inheritance to handle it for now." I explained.

Nodding, in understanding, "I will send Jerome to continue his studies and discuss this with my husband and Logan We'll help you with this situation." mom told me,

Shaking my head in protest, "no thank you, it's our responsibility." I protested.

As the thought occurred to her, she asks, "did you every mention it to the court?'

Covering my face with my hand in embarrassment, I nod.

"And?' mom prompt me to continue.

"Jer is the one who went in and informed Judge Delano, because dispite everything, all we have is each other." I explained.

"Jamie you know that Jess is out of hand right?" mom asks and I couldn't deny it, so I simply nod in agreement.

Mom and I were so deep in conversation that we did not see Logan or Justin until the slight knocking of the window made us jump guiltily.

Mom powered down the window from her end for Justin, to come in and unlock the door for Logan, because I couldn't lean across.

Logan came carrying two bags with two food containers each and a bag with a Samsung Logo printed on it. While Justin carried four drinks and two bags with, I couldn't recognize yet.

"You guys planning to overthrow the government?" Justin chuckles, while Logan looks on keenly, still standing on the outside staring at me.

I automatically turned to mom, guilty because of the conversation I just had, but she just glared at his son, "what took you guys so long, your father must be worried" she scold him.

"Just remember that wherever you leave your pregnant wife in the vehicle, hustle" she warned him but I felt bad, it's not his fault that I'm in this condition.

I touched mom's hand, "It's not his fault that I'm like this" I said apologetically.

Adding to my irritation, Justin bursts into laughter, which he fights to control. I'm confused now as mom joins Justin. I glance at Logan to see a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth and his eyes, dancing with mischief.
