Once Yang Kai arrived at High Heaven Place he released everyone from the small sealed world bead. There was a brief moment of calm before Yang Rai's Cultivation rocketed. It was evident that the star field just simply didn't have the means to promote him anyfurther. This was the result of a single breath. Instantly became a peak 2nd Order Origin King. Yang Rai requested immediate seclusion.

"Palace Master, I must go into seclusion. I can't suppress my realm any longer."

While all of the crystals in each set represented his Dao accomplishments in the 9 he was fluent with at this point. Each set had a distinct difference. For example in one set his space dao might have been paired with the yin attribute, while in another set it was paired with another attribute. Doing this gave rise to a much more rapid increase in the understanding of the daos themselves but also each attribute. This was a result of having the attributes being used to compliment and reinforce the Daos. This had an unexpected result in that each set could completely rebuild and repair a destroyed set. Basically giving Yang Rai 9 Lives. What am I now? A Cat? With his massive difference in improvement he quickly began understanding world principles at an alarming rate. It wasn't until the Star Spirits discovered they could fuse 9 T1 R9 Glyphs together that Yang Rai slowed his progression to comprehend what they were saying. He got the sense that it would be beneficial to him in a major way.
