Xander

As I stepped through the bank vault door we came out on the side of a dark alleyway. I noticed the goddess didn't step through with me.

"Stay out of the public eye, no one can know your The Hero or this country will be targeted heavily by dark forces," she said tossing me a sword.

"Oh awesome is this like a cool enchanted sword or something?," I asked curiously.

"No it's just a regular starter sword," Daz said as she giggled

Stone Sword

Quality:Good

"Can I have some armor too?," I demanded.

"Oh right. Here's your starter kit good luck!," Daz explained flustered as she tossed me a bag of coin and closed the gate leather armor appeared around me.

Leather Armor

Quality: Good

"See ya," I replied walking out of the alleyway and onto the lantern lit street. The sun was just coming up over the beautiful country with its vast mountain scape and houses and castles woven in between and through the mountains. I had never seen anything like it before. The biggest castle was at the center, that must be the kings, it was surrounded by heavy barricades and dozens upon dozens of knights patrolling up and down its walls.

"Guess I should keep a low profile," I said to myself as I put up the hood attached to the armor and sheathed my sword. I should look for an Inn, bound to be some info there. As I was looking up and down the street that was still pretty deserted I saw a sign that read Hallmark inn.

"I'm telling you lad you don't want to do this," hiccuped an man who looked to be in his early thirties with short blond hair and peasants attire as he stepped out of the inn with another man who looked to be seeing red.

"You don't know your place old man," the other man claimed as he balled his fists.

"Woah we can settle this a different way," I asked politely. That's when the first punch landed from the impatient man on the drunkards jaw.

"Arghh, I am a holy knight you lil bastard," he commented letting go of the cup that was still in his hand and throwing it at his opponent.

"Then act like one!," said the stranger.

"Excuse me sir could you tell me where the best inns are," I remarked trying to sway his attention without getting directly involved.

"The Hallmark Inn isn't the best but we'll put up with ya, just like this old coot right here," he explained patiently watching as the old drunk man fell asleep on his feet.

"Are you the owner," I asked suddenly.

"No I'm just the son of the owner, I'm Max," he answered as he turned fully around. He had dirty blond hair with icy blue eyes and was about my build which was to say average.

"Well come on then, " he called as he pushed open one of the double doors and the smell of fresh stew and bread wafted out. I followed him to the front desk looking around as I went.

"Cool place," I marveled. The atmosphere was beyond jovial, everyone was having a good time and just minding their own business.

"it's all my grandfather left us," replied max as he looked down.

"I'll take one room and pay for a week in advance," I mused. Then I took out my pouch and found instructions in it. 1 gold is 10 silver, 1 silver is 5 copper. I had a total of 10 gold. I would have to learn to make money before this ran out I thought while handing him 1 gold.

"So your some kind of wandering swordsman?," began Max when he looked at my sword

"Something like that," I replied as I adjusted myself on a stool on the bar.

"Well maybe we could spar after the inn closes up for the night, I'm an aspiring swordsman myself," he asked lightly.

"Yeah sure," I said not looking up from the food menu.

"Hi I'm Miki what can I get you!," asked a young lady dressed in peasants attire.

"Yes I'd like this and this," I decided as I showed her what I would be having.

Mission: Spar With Max

Reward: Average Sword Play scroll

"Let's do this," I demanded as we squared up with wooden swords I realized this would be my first time practicing with any sword play. I didn't know there was a system that gave out quests.

"Did you make sure to lock up for the night max!," shouted a voice from upstairs down to us in the backyard.

"Yes papa," called max.

"Haaaagh," I went bellowing out a quick war cry.

*slash*

*Slash*

Max easily blocked my overheads and went with a stab Counter.

*stab*

"Not so fast," I said as I parried his strike and bopped him on the head

"Aww let's go again," he said earnestly.

"Haaagh," he said doing a horizontal cut

*Clang!*

We clashed together and held ground for a bit before he broke it off and slashed towards my head...

*Slash*

"1st Release," I said in my head donning a faint rainbow outline and jumping back out of the way just as he was about to hit me.

"Woah, where did that come from!," said max blinking several times as he hit air.

"Let's call it a day," I remarked as I thought intensely on what I had just learned. From what max had told me he had been practicing by himself for a year or so and still couldn't touch me. I probably shouldn't use my skill out in the open like that anymore. I just wanted to test it but it could have cost me, from what Daz said this world is on the brink of destruction from darkness and this country could be unfairly targeted if it was learned the hero was here.

"You coming," chimed max as he put away the wooden swords and opened the back door to show me to my room.

"Seal," I thought turning off the skill.

"Coming!," I said...
