After Akio and Mitsuri decided on getting something to eat, they arrived before a simple but nice looking restaurant.
It was good his parents in this world provided him with some money so he doesn't embarrass himself in front of his fiance. Of course, it wasn't substantial. His parents seemed quite well known and was by no means poor, so Akio was quite thankful.
His system was quite meticulous. Akio thought that perhaps the system arranged it this way so he can improve himself the fastest. After all, how can such a coincidence like possessing an older body with the same name that looks identical to himself, meeting Mitsuri, fighting the sadistic demon and finally meeting Rengoku be such a coincidence?
And that all happened in less than a week!
Akio had thought he might have some trouble finding a way to become a demon slayer. But, he's essentially in the same situation as Tanjiro now — being found by a hashira and given the opportunity to learn breathing techniques.
Well, all these coincidences made some sense to Akio. For a system that relied on a host's specific soul essence, it made sense that the system wouldn't want the host to be in perilous situations. What kind of symbiosis would that be? It was like relying on a sole owner to feed you, and in return, you protect the owner. If the owner dies, you would also die of "starvation."
Well, it's not like Akio cared. It's quite fun at the moment. It's not like he's bounded or restricted by anything. Though, he still hasn't seen the entire capabilities of this universal cheat-like system.
As Akio and Mitsuri found a table, they quickly ordered something to eat. As they were waiting for the food to arrive, Akio initiated some casual talk. After his little moment he had with Mitsuri earlier, she seemed more comfortable around him.
The only downside was that Mitsuri can't even look Akio in the eyes, only answering with a low voice or nods. However, with his senses, he did manage to catch her sneaking a couple glances at him when he wasn't looking. Akio just laughed internally, "How shy."
When the food arrived, Akio could notice Mitsuri's excited look as her eyes began sparkling. Akio sighed. Rest in peace his wallet.
He didn't mind though, it wasn't his money. He also didn't need it as he has already eaten and can also go to his original world if he wanted food. So, why not spoil his fiance a little? After all, food is a great way to a woman's heart — it's a universal rule!
Minutes quickly passed with the two enjoying a nice meal together. They only ordered a simple dish each, and Akio quickly realised that Mitsuri was probably still hungry.
He simply asked for more food.
However, as Mitsuri noticed how much food he ordered, she voiced, "Akio... isn't this a little too much for you?"
Akio just gave Mitsuri a smile. "Me? Of course not." He spoke before continuing, "All the food i'm ordering is for both you and me. This is technically our first date... I can't have you leaving this restaurant unsatisfied, no?" He gave Mitsuri a light wink.
Seeing how Akio had read her like a book and realised she was indeed still quite hungry, her face turned pink. After a moment, she then also felt a little guilty. "Why did I try and hide another part of myself from him..." Mitsuri thought dejectedly.
Seeing her change in expression, Akio spoke. "Don't be too hard on yourself Mitsuri. Just enjoy yourself."
Hearing Akio, Mitsuri snapped out of her thoughts and lightly patted herself on her cheeks, before thinking to herself, "That's right! I can't bring the mood down! I want to get to know Akio better. I can't have him lead the conversation every time!"
Seeing her vibrant smile returning back to her, and how Mitsuri's eyes were locking onto his now, Akio gently curled his lips. "Would you look at that, she doesn't seem as shy."
An hour quickly passed.
Akio had left with a full stomach and an empty wallet whilst Mitsuri was also left quite satisfied. Akio felt that in this one day, Mitsuri had become much closer with him.
As Akio was walking Mitsuri back to her home, Akio felt it was a good time to tell her about his departure. Well, not exactly a good time, but better now than later. "Mitsuri."
"Hm?" She turned and looked at him with a smile. Today had been one of the best days in her life. Every moment she had spent with Akio felt as if her world was painted with even more vibrant colours. Despite having met him for such a short amount of time, it was as if he understood her and had known her for a long time.
She felt like her dream had finally come true!
However, as Akio spoke his next sentence, she looked visibly shaken.
"I'll be leaving this place in a week or so..." He spoke softly.
"What... do you mean." She asked, her smile slightly faltering. Maybe she was overthinking it. Maybe Akio was only leaving for a few days, or a week, or at most a month, right?
"Recently, I've discovered some world changing information." Akio spoke, talking about the demons that exist in this world. He was aware that the general public believes that demons were a myth or stories that are told to scare children, so he had to be careful with his wording to not sound crazy.
"World changing information?" Mitsuri repeated, still unsure of what to make of this situation.
"Yes... It's something that endangers the lives of many people..." Akio replied calmly before speaking once again, "I recently met someone that would guide me to resolve this issue, and also join their organisation that exists. Perhaps when I leave, a few months or a few years would take place before I return..."
Those final words reverberated in Mitsuri's head. "A few years..." She mumbled.
Mitsuri felt as if her world was shattering. She had found someone that treated her normally, someone that she can give her love to, someone that made her world seem more colourful. Yet, he was leaving?
How was this fair? She was given a glimpse of what love was, something that was different from her parents and siblings. But now... it's going to disappear for a few years...
Akio was trying to talk, however, Mitsuri doesn't seem to be paying attention. She seemed loss in her own thoughts, so Akio just patiently waited.
"I don't want this..." Mitsuri spoke internally, her voice showing a trace of bitterness. She gave Akio a complicated look. She wanted to be with him. But why would he let her go with him? No... perhaps she can be useful! After all, she was born with a very powerful constitution. She was sure her parents would also allow her to pursue what she desires.
"Akio... D-do you think I can come with you?" She said, before trying to justify why she should be able to come with him. "I'm sure I can be of h–"
"Sure, you can come with me." Akio interrupted.
Mitsuri had a shocked expression. This had been a choice she had decided for herself! Akio was also quite delighted — he didn't have to convince her. Perhaps her fate as a demon slayer was too great.
"Just make sure this is a choice you really want for yourself. This decision will really shape your world into something different entirely." Akio advised, before thinking, "And even more so since I'm an anomaly in this world."
Mitsuri gave a nod and a smile.
With that decision, Akio spent some time briefly explaining to Mitsuri about the existence of demon slayers and demons. At first, she was a little skeptical, but she knew that Akio wasn't someone that would lie like this. Furthermore, as Akio gave her information about people disappearing and other information relating to demons, she quickly believed him. This had been one of the ways to convince Mitsuri that he had prepared.
Mitsuri's face had a somewhat horrified expression. "I thought the demon stories I heard as a child were all fake!" She mumbled.
Akio then spent some time telling her about the demon slayer corps.
"Demons can be beaten by humans that breathe a certain way?" Mitsuri asked, finding that a little ridiculous.
"Yes, they are ancient techniques that help release a human's full potential. With a sword that is created with a rock that has some properties of the sun, it allows you to slay demons." Akio explained.
Mitsuri had a look like she was hearing a fantasy story for the first time.
"Are you still sure you want to come with me?" Akio asked, making sure she was certain.
Mitsuri nodded without much hesitation. She simply thought that perhaps this had been the reason she had been born with superhuman strength? Perhaps it was to help Akio with this goal?
If such demons really existed, wouldn't it risk the lives of all her loved ones?
After Akio finished explaining everything, Mitsuri definitely believed what he had said. It truly did change her naive perspective of the world.
Mitsuri and Akio walked in silence back to Mitsuri's home. Mitsuri was currently digesting the information.
As they were close to her home, Mitsuri stopped next to Akio and gave him a gentle smile. "Akio, thank you for today!"
Despite being given such world changing information, Mitsuri seemed very compose and quite calm contrary to expectations. She was indeed a very extroverted and optimistic person. News like demons existing would definitely make a lot of people feel fear and panic.
"Glad you enjoyed." Akio replied.
Mitsuri laughed lightly before she pondered over something whilst looking at Akio. However, after a short while, she blushed furiously and shook her head aggressively.
But suddenly, she leaned in and tried kissing Akio on his cheek. Akio was slightly stunned at first, but he then smirked internally.
His reaction time was too good.
Mitsuri's cute little sneak attack had suddenly turned into a full on kiss, their lips pressing tightly together.
Mitsuri felt as if an electrical current travelled all over her body. This was too fast! She only wanted to give Akio a little peck on his cheek as thanks for today. Who'd guess that Akio would suddenly turn when she went for the kiss!
Mitsuri was extremely embarrassed, what if Akio thought she was some kind of uncouth woman!
However, when she attempted to escape, she realised that Akio had firmly wrapped his arms around her waist.
Mitsuri's soft busom compressed onto Akio's firm chest as their lips were still passionately "dancing" with eachother. Akio felt Mitsuri's perfect curves as his hands slowly slid down to her ass before he gave it a firm squeeze. Akio felt Mitsuri's bated breath and her heartbeat that thumped wildly. Mitsuri then suddenly felt her entire body go soft as her body sunk into Akio's embrace.
However, Akio suddenly loosened his iron grip on Mitsuri, causing her to almost collapse, where he held her by the waist and one of her wrist.
With their passionate kiss they just had, Mitsuri was left in a state where she was breathing heavily, her eyes somewhat misty.
After coming out of her little daze, Mitsuri glanced at Akio before her face became as red as a tomato. She was left in a completely frozen state!
Akio gave Mitsuri a little smirk. "I didn't think you were so bold Mitsuri." Akio playfully spoke, causing her to be even more flustered.
"S-sorry! It was an acc–" Mitsuri tried explaining herself, before suddenly being interrupted.
"Haha, it's fine! You look so adorable when you're this flustered. But, I quite liked that intimate moment we just shared. Did you?" Akio asked with a calm smile.
"O-of... course." Mitsuri' spoke in an extremely quiet voice. It would be impossible to hear it if it weren't for Akio's senses. However, Akio believed he shouldn't tease her any more. He didn't like bullying people... that much... so he promptly decided to end it on a good note.
With a chuckle, Akio spoke, "I think we should both go home now. I enjoyed today with you Mitsuri!"
Mitsuri nodded, trying to leave the scene as soon as possible. She definitely won't be able to easily sleep tonight. Today was simply too embarrassing! She Almost completely forgot about the demons stuff Akio told her about.
