Chapter 25: Desperate Measures
The rest of their visit was indeed like a dream because the ballet show was short, but enchanting, with dancers dressed as flamingos, fluttering and spinning on the stage.
At the end of the ballet performance, Raul began to realize that Melinda was nowhere around. He had been so taken up by the charming tour, that he was transported into another world, entirely. But where did Melinda go? he wondered with growing concern because apparently nobody knew where she had disappeared to.
As they were heading towards the imposingly grand doors on their way out, Raul spotted Joan.
“Hey Joan!” he called. Hopefully she would know about Melinda’s whereabouts.
“When last did you see Melinda?”
Joan looked at him and frowned.
“I thought you were together,” she replied. “Have you tried phoning her?”
