Feeling nervous as she walked into the new department that she has been transferred into since she graduated from police academy two months ago. She walked through the double doors as she fidgeted with her hands as she walked up to the front desk to sign in.
"Hello?" She says a bit quietly as she put her hands on the desk. As she tried to catch the lady that was on her phone's attention. "Ma'am?" She tries again. As she gently leans forward on the desk. She young girl slowly raised her head as her eyes lifted from the screen for a second.
"Yes? How can I help you?" the young girl says in a monotone voice as she looked into Page's eyes.
"I'm Paige…the new officer that's transferred in... "She says softly as she smiled hesitantly. The young girl raised her eyebrows as she looked at Paige, her eyes moving up and down with a hideous look as she slightly curled her lip.
"Sign in is over there on the clipboard next to the hand sanitizer…" the woman's monotone voice remained the same. Paige felt uneasy as she moved to the clipboard as she signed her name. Paige felt uncomfortable under the young girl's stare. She looked on the ground as she anxiously fidgeted with her hands. She wanted to ask where her office desk was, but she hesitated on asking because of how the girl was looking at her.
Why is she just staring at me like that? Did I do something wrong? She starts to spiral into negative thoughts until she felt a hand lightly touch her back and a low voice snapped her out of her trance.
"Are you alright? You look pale…" She turned her head as she looked up her eyes locking with a pair of steel grey eyes. The man leans closer to her as he gently touched his forehead to hers. "You're not running a fever…" he says slowly as he looked at her. She felt her face start to turn red as she looked at the man. He looked out of this century, his sliver blond hair slicked back, and he wore a fitted suit that was black color with a white button up shirt underneath with a vest and a blood red tie.
She looked up at the man. Her eyes widened slightly as she took a small step backwards.
"I'm okay…." She says with a small voice still feeling the young woman's intense stare on her.
Paige looked at the woman for a bit more before heasitantly starting to stay something only to get interupted suddenly by the man.
" You must have a reason for staring or has your manners become nonexistant?" The mans voice was low sounding almost protective of her as he stared at the woman at the front desk. The woman almost having just now noticed her rudness suddenly became comicly aware and embarassed by what she has done stuttering over her words as she dropped her phone on the desk.
" I-I- I mean no disrespect-" the woman started only to have the man next to paige cut her off with a dismisive wave of his hand.
" Silence you impudant woman." snapped the man before he turns to paige. The slight smile on his lips appears again as he looked at her.
" I must get going now Blumen." he says lightly his hand releasing her arm that she just now remembered that he had been holding when she had been feeling unwell before. As he started to turn away his hand falling back to his side she reached out grabbing onto his sleeve stopping him. He turns to look back at her one of his eyebrows raised as he looked at her questioningly.
" Thank you for helping me...Can I know your name?" she says softly her eyes lifting up to look back into his eyes.
