Azrael scratched his head, clueless about how the potion was made or its workings.
"It's just one potion split into two small bottles. If you sip from one, the other one kind of records everything you experience until the potion's effects wear off. That could be as quick as five minutes or as long as a whole day, depending on how skilled the person who made it is."
"Wow, that's amazing!"
It was undeniably impressive. With just a potion, one could revisit memories whenever they pleased.
"Marcus tucked a memory into it. Something he wanted me to witness," Anaine revealed.
Azrael's senses sharpened instantly. There was no way Marcus could have known about Azrael's betrayal. The potion must have retained something from the previous night, the night Azrael and Marcus crossed paths.
"He, um... he wanted to help you learn something, to toughen you up," Anaine muttered, avoiding eye contact with Azrael.
