Chapter 3

Sitting on her knees in front of the small tea table, Rachel looked at the red mug of milk and the bag with "MAXIM" written on it. The whole situation made the girl feel a little out of place. She did not pay attention to the very beautiful and at the same time minimalistic decoration of the tea room, partly withdrawn into her thoughts, partly just waiting. Yet right now the Floor Administrator was sitting across from her at the same table, stirring a drink in a bowl with his sachet. The splash and click of the foil roused Regular.

"I heard it from mr. Headon, Rachel" Administrator's soft voice had a slightly soothing effect on the girl. "Aren't you exhausted from the first test? Hmm... maybe not."

Yu Han Sung turned his gaze to the left where Hizu was standing near the wall with his eyes covered. Administrator was about to meet Regular alone, but the boy showed without a word that he wasn't going to leave the girl alone. The High Ranker did not insist and let him go with her.

"With your new friend from Headon at your side," Administrator had time to examine the records of the first floor and curse Quant a few more times for his carelessness. "Hizu, is it? Interesting name. Hmm?"

Yu Han Sung noticed that Regular never touched her drink.

"Miss Rachel, drink before it gets cold," Administrator noticed the girl's reaction and quickly realized what was going on. "Tear off one end of it and just pour it in mug. The taste differs based on how hard you grab it. It's about the delicate control of the fingers. Yes, that's right. Isn't it easy?"

"You don't need worry at all, Miss Rachel. The power you need. Attention to your person. I will set the perfect stage for you to shine," Administrator smiled and watched as the girl, after "preparing" the drink, drank it in one gulp. Immediately afterwards, Yu Han Sung continued. "Well, I'll introduce someone to you. This person will be your Guide."

"Guide?" Rachel interjected. During their conversation after the first test, Androssi had had time to talk a little about the various Specializations in the Tower, but she had not mentioned this one.

"Yes, they have received the blessing of The Tower. So they know all the paths and can even..." Administrator smirked and spread his hands. "Predict and change the future."

After watching Regular reaction for a moment, he continued.

"You will meet your Guide on the next floor" he said it with a shrug.

"The next floor?" Rahel asked, a little surprised.

"That's right. As she said, you don't need her on this floor..." Han Sung nodded.

"Oh... I see..." girl slumped her shoulders in a relaxed manner. So she'll be able to handle the rest of the trials on this floor. Either on her own, or with the help of Androssi and Hizu.

"Now that we've got that settled, you're free to go, Miss Rachel," girl slowly rose from her knees. Though she tried not to show it, she hadn't really rested from all that running at the trial, and now her legs felt tingly.

"Thank you..." with these words, the girl left the room and followed her out and Hizu, whose existence Administrator had managed to forget. A voice came from the darkness behind Han Sung:

"How cruel, to leave a child to The Elders," despite the words spoken, there was not a hint of sympathy or condemnation in the figure's voice.

"Didn't you tell me you'd found your God?" and hearing no reply from the other side, Administrator merely grinned.

Rachel was boredly stretching the sleeve of her sweatshirt. To her right sat Androssi, who shared the current mood of Regular and was just playing with a small needle, twirling it with her fingers. Hizu, on the other hand, did not change, and the blonde began to suspect that he, except for the task given to him, was not interested in anything at all. The princess even jokingly suggested that the guy was actually a robot. Damn, even when Androssi lured them into the local clothing store, the bodyguard acted more like a mannequin, giving the girls complete freedom of action, the result of which was a blue, the color of her hair long-sleeved shirt and black pants. Rachel, despite the unhappy grumblings of the Princess, chose a simple gray hooded sweatshirt and loose jeans. The only one who didn't buy anything was Androssi, justifying it by the fact that she, unlike them, didn't get blood on her clothes. In any case, Quant paid for everything, and his distorted face amused Regulars and the shopkeepers. Anyway, back to where they were and what was going on.

Regulars were now in a small classroom, waiting for the so-called "PositionTest" to begin. The Ranker in charge of the test was noticeably late, and so the regulars had no choice but to sit, preferably as far away from Trio as possible, and wait. This kind of attitude upset Rachel a little, though it mostly went to her two... teammates? companions?... friends? Rachel wasn't quite sure exactly how Androssi and Heath felt about her and how they saw her?

"Hello, regulars. Did you have enough rest?" the tall, fair-haired Ranker walked into the auditorium and frowned as he saw the number and location of regulars, but said nothing and simply walked to the pulpit. "My name is Lero Ro and I will explain the essence of the Position Test. As you know, battles in the Tower are usually between teams. Your specialization determines your role in the battle and there are different fighting positions:

Who disarm enemy by using the reel inventory. Thus they are always at the heart of battle. They can also carry out individual activities.,"Androssi sitting next to you snickered. The princess already knew what position she would be in, and such a description pleased her ego quite well. Rachel herself, though, still wasn't sure what specialization she would be assigned

He who uses spears to target enemies from behind or finish off what the fisherman startd: "Spear bearer".

He who lights up the dark tower, collects battle data and sends it to the scout, "Light Bearer" "Rachel raised her head and involuntarily blew the word "Star" from her lips. She smiled apologetically, After that Lero Ro continued.

He who observe the enemie's movements at the very forefront using observer and helps fisherman when he charges: "Scout".

And last one, who control shinsu to assists in battle or overpower an opponent. They are known to dominate the battlefield and called "Wave Controller".

"Of course, there are more positions beyond these five, such as "Guide", but it doesn't have much to do with you. Beginning now, you will be assigned to one of these five positions, and... ah right," the Ranker coughed. "Normally regulars are trained for a month, but in your case, the time has been reduced to twenty days, so I strongly recommend that you make every possible effort. Also, normally, we select the best in each position to move on. Because of the small number of regulars in this group, it was decided that the four Regulars with the highest scores, regardless of their specialization, would go up."

Rachel looked condescendingly at the rest of regular who were making a fuss. Considering the reputation of the trio, it meant one thing to the rest of the group: only one of the twelve would pass.

"A specialization was assigned to you based on your accomplishments in the first test. Now look," the screen above Lero Ro's head activated. "This table shows your position according to the results of previous test. The higher your name, the better you performed and scored more points. However, this does not mean that you can afford to relax," he focused his gaze on the three regulars, clearly hinting to whom he was addressing.

The screen changed the picture, allowing all participants to see the tables:

"Fisherman" "Androssi Zahard, Kurkoa, Mayuri Ishin.

"Spear bearer" "Gamchhan, Luisa Goh, Samhotep.

"Light Bearer" "Rachel, Juga Kojin.

"Scout" "Hizu, Angi Kang, Nagimuro, Soke.

"Wave Controller" "Sail Wright, Bomero, Anayuma Simplay.

"Well, that's the end of it. Ask your Position Teachers for details. Classes will begin tomorrow morning, the location of the classrooms or training grounds will be sent to your watch," Lero Ro walked toward the exit, but then remembered something. "Almost forgot, Wave Controllers were less fortunate in that regard. The teacher has a problem so he will arrive a bit late. He says he'll starts class four days late Dismissed."

"Oh, finally," Androssi said, stretching, as soon as the Ranker left the room. She already knew most of what was being said, and the other details weren't even worth paying attention to. "So, shall we continue sampling the local canteen? Maybe there's something worthwhile there, Princess."

"Ehm.. Sure, "they had seen some of the food yesterday and it tasted... not disgusting, but with the alternatives Rachel would never choose it. Who cares, though, as long as the trio isn't paying for it?"
