If she was right, then she really mustn't stray away from Hazel, as Hazel definitely had the strength to enable both of them to survive.

Back at the cave.
Kayle mouth watered as she watched Hazel eat the roasted rabbit meat she had cooked over the fire.
Kayle had requested for a piece or two, expecting the two to share, but Hazel told her to back off since she had done all the hunting.
Kayle then decided to offer Hazel some of the edible leaves she had gathered in exchange for some meat, but Hazel refused, calling it an unfair trade.
Hazel argued that she had risked her life for the meat while Kayle had collected the cabbage without danger, making it an inequitable exchange.
Kayle bit her lip as she watched Hazel finish the last of the meat, letting out a loud belch, and worse, doing it while staring at Kayle as if to provoke her.
Kayle's stomach growled in hunger, making her more enraged.
