Vibly App

"Hey, Admin!" Mr. Vincent called out as he caught up to us. The admin looked up from his phone towards the accountant.

"I take it on the tour from here" he added.

As I toured the office, it felt like I was wandering through a maze of unfamiliar faces. Even after being welcomed with warmth, I still sensed subtle hint of indifference in the air. Each office and staff member became characters in my story.

Alright, enough work talk, time to whip up a delicious dinner. Maybe I'll get a reply while I'm cooking, I've been craving jollof rice all day!

So I gathered 2 cups of long-grain rice, finely chopped onions, and a green bell pepper, sliced into perfect circles. Blended 4 juicy tomatoes with a vibrant red bell pepper into a smooth puree. Added minced cloves of garlic, a teaspoon each of thyme, curry powder, paprika, dried thyme, and dried bay leaves, along with a quarter cup of vegetable oil into a bowl.

Seasoned it all with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

I meticulously rinsed the rice with hot water, ensuring its purity. Then, I heated a large pot over medium heat, allowing the vegetable oil to shimmer. In went the chopped onions and minced garlic, sizzling until they turned translucent. Next, I poured in the luscious tomato and red bell pepper puree, stirring it into a symphony of flavors. After a few minutes of cooking, I added the vibrant green bell pepper, a medley of spices, and the fragrant dried bay leaves. Everything blended harmoniously.

Then in went two cup of water and a pinch of salt and pepper heightened the taste. The mixture danced to a boil, and then I reduced the heat to a gentle simmer, allowing the flavors to meld for about 10 minutes. Carefully, I added the rinsed rice, gently stirring it into the tantalizing sauce. Covered and cocooned, the pot simmered on low heat for 20-25 minutes, until the rice emerged tender and fully cooked.

With a delicate touch, I fluffed the rice with a fork, revealing its fluffy texture. And voila! The masterpiece was ready to be savored, served piping hot."

Growing up, my love for cooking bloomed like a beautiful flower. I learned the art of culinary magic from my mom, who was my guiding star in the kitchen. Being the third child, I found solace in the warmth of the stove while my two elder brothers were away at boarding school. The mere thought of boarding school used to send shivers down my spine, as my brothers would return during the holidays with spine-chilling tales. But fate had a different plan for me, and my parents decided to enroll me in a day high school instead. Ah, the memories! They flooded back as I savored every mouthful of that delectable plate of jollof rice.

Oh, I glanced at my phone, and there it was, boldly displaying 10:03 PM on the Lock Screen. I let out a gentle sigh, busy days can sometimes take hold of us, but hey, I'm always here for a chat whenever you're free, I reassured myself feeling optimistic about the whole thing.

As I unlocked my phone and scrolled through my apps, my fingers paused right above the Vibly icon. But tonight, I didn't quite feel like hopping on Vibly. Instead, I decided to listen to the whispers of my tired body and hit the hay. It had indeed been a long day, and my mind yearned for sweet slumber.

With a fresh minty taste in my mouth from brushing my teeth and a cool, rejuvenating bath, I slipped into my comfy pajamas. I grabbed my trusty notepad and jotted down a few cherished experiences from the day. And then, with a contented heart, I nestled into bed, ready to embrace the peaceful embrace of sleep.

"PING** 11:33 pm yesterday.

"I've never talked to anyone from Nigeria before."

As I woke up in the morning, the sun barely peeking through the sky, it painted the world with a gentle touch of its blue hue, like a shy artist revealing a hint of their masterpiece. My eyes were welcomed by that notification. Really? You've never talked to anyone from Nigeria before? Well, I haven't talked to anyone from Thailand either. So, we definitely have a lot to chat about if you're up for it. I'll try not to get too attached, but you're already piquing my curiosity.

"Well, I'm glad to make your acquaintance."

"Good morning!"

"It's like 4:19 am here."

Yeah, I'm up early again, spending time on this app before work, as usual. I never really get the chance to do it at the office, or maybe I just don't have a good enough reason to make time for it there.

Umm. The last text was a bit blunt, I should send something that encourages a proper conversation.

"Thailand's names are so similar. What does yours mean?"

I might not get a reply to this anytime soon, but hey, maybe I should consider making time to come online at work since Vibly is giving me a few activities.
