Heated Conversation

I received a message from Nikhil but I ignored it. After finishing the movie, we had our dinner outside and then went to our house and slept after talking to my father.

Next day, Veer had so many meetings lined up. So, even I went to office and attended meetings with him. In between I received Nikhil's messages but I just ignored them. We became free only after 7 pm. We went home had our dinner and slept as we were very tired.

Next day Veer had little work in the office, few paper works are to be seen. So, we decided to go to office finish work then have lunch and go back to Delhi. We finished our work and then boarded the flight to Delhi. By the time we reached Delhi, it was 9 pm. So, I asked Veer to come to our house for dinner and he agreed. We saw Papa waiting for us in the living room, when we reached home. He asked us to freshen up and we went to our respective rooms and got freshened up. By the time we came back, Mumma was serving dinner for us. We ate our dinner together, post dinner I told my Mother and Father that I want to speak to them about something. So, we all gathered in the living room.

I said, "Papa, I want to join in any company based on my merit and work for 6 months. After that I'll join our company and assist you. Veer suggested me to join his company, but I refused it. So, he said to give interview and then join. I'm thinking to give an interview tomorrow."

My mom replied, "Beta, what's the need to join in any other company. You can directly join ours." I said, "Mom, I want to gain experience and learn things on my own. If I join our company then everyone will treat me as boss and scope for learning will be very less. So, I want to learn first and then join our company"

My father replied, "Ok princess, you can join. I'm allowing you only because it's Veer's company and I know he'll take care of you." I smiled cheekily and hugged my father tightly. Then we retired to our rooms.

Next day I woke up early, as I was very excited that I'm going to join office today. I got ready and went downstairs for morning aarthi. Veer and Papa came by the end of Aarthi. After that we all had our breakfast together. Veer said that he'll drop me at office and go to hospital. I agreed and left for office.

Veer dropped me and left for his hospital. He insisted that he'll take me inside but I refused saying that I don't need special attention and I can manage. Now I'm standing in front of the office, though I've come here many times, this time it's different. I was very excited for my interview. As soon as I entered the office, I went to the receptionist.

I said, "Hey, I've come here for an interview. I'm Dhrithi Saxena." She replied, "Okay, just wait a minute. I'll check with the manager and let you know." She made a call and then said, "Miss. Saxena go to room number. 202 on the first floor. Your interview will be taken by our manager Mr. Sen" I smiled and said, "Thankyou" and left for interview.

I went to first floor and searched for the room. I found it, I knocked the door and went inside when I heard come in. I gave him my resume, he asked me few questions and I answered him. After taking my interview for half an hour, he said that I'm selected. He appointed me as Junior Designer and then he said, "Also Mr. Singh's P.A has applied a leave for 1 week, so can you assist him for that 1 week. Now, he's not there in India, he'll come after 2 days. You need to assist him when he comes back." I replied, "Okay sir, I'll assist him for that week" He said, " Okay, you can leave for now. You can join from tomorrow"

I left the office and called Veer, but he didn't answer. I think he might be in any surgery, so I decided to go on my own. I started walking down the lane to find a taxi, a car stopped beside me and honked. I turned around to see who it was, it was Nikhil. He bent a little and opened the passenger seat's door and asked me to get in. But I didn't say anything, he said, "I'm not going to move unless you get inside. So, don't make any scene and get inside." Having no other option I got inside the car and then he started the car. He didn't say anything and so do I. He took me to a park, he got down the car and came towards my side and opened the door and held his hand out for me to hold but I got down without taking his help. We went and sat on a bench and then he said, "Dhrithi what has happened? Why are you avoiding me?" I replied, "Good that you know that I'm avoiding you. If you already knew that I'm avoiding you then why did you come looking for me?"

He said, "Because I want to know the reason. I thought we are friends, but you're behaving as if we are strangers. Did I do something that hurt you?"

I replied, "Yes, that day the way you behaved with Veer hurt me. He even said sorry but still you behaved rudely with him. You invited me infront of him and didn't invite him and insulted him which I didn't like a bit of it."

He said, "Come on Dhrithi, you're punishing me for that. I didn't like the way he behaved with you the other day and when I stood for you he even spoke to me rudely. Just because he's your best friend doesn't give him any rights to yell on you the way he did."

I angrily replied, "And who are you to decide his rights. I gave him that rights and even my dad doesn't have any problem with that, then who are you to tell about his rights?"

He replied, "Dhrithi I'm your friend and I didn't like him shouting at you."

I said, "Mr. Ahuja, I understand you. But he apologized to you right and also I explained you the previous day about his behaviour and still you behaved rudely with him. And one more thing, had I not said him that you're my friend then he would have never apologized to you and try to mend his relation with you."

He replied, "But one sorry doesn't change anything right? How can I behave normally with him immediately. It takes time right? We can't build relations just like that."

I said, "Yes you're right Mr. Ahuja, relations can't be built just like that, we need to work on it. You had a chance to build relation with him. You could have also invited him to the party, okay I understand you didn't want to invite him because he behaved rudely with you the other day. But you could have atleast said bye to him before leaving."

He said, "Ok, I agree I behaved rudely with him. But why is it affecting our relation."

I said, "It'll definitely affect Mr. Ahuja because he's my friend. And I don't like it if anyone misbehave with him. Just because you're my friend, I'll not tolerate this kind of behaviour with Veer. You know for the first time, I made a friend without Veer's knowledge. I thought you're good person. I told Veer very nicely about you, so he was looking forward to meet you. But what did you do? You just proved my decision of making you my friend wrong Mr. Ahuja. So better don't come in front of me again Mr. Ahuja. Good bye" I turned to go but he caught my hand, I glared at him.

Seeing my glare he left my hand and replied, "Okay I'm sorry but please call me Nikhil. I'm not liking this Mr. Ahuja"

I replied, "You shouldn't say sorry to me Mr. Ahuja and I can't call you with your first name because we aren't friends anymore."

He said, "Dhrithi don't do this, why are you speaking like this. We can solve everything."

I replied, "What am I doing? This is how I'm, I never speak to anyone who don't respect Veer and you are no exception."

He said, "Okay I understood what I've to do" and left without saying anything. I then took a taxi and went home. I told papa that I succeeded in my interview and I can join from tomorrow. I had my lunch and went to my room to rest for a while.

I woke hearing a knock at my door, I woke up and asked to come in. I saw Veer entering my room, he came and sat on my bed.

I said, "Veer, I gave my interview and I'm appointed as Junior Designer and also I've to assist uncle for a week when he comes back. Don't tell this to uncle, let it be a surprise to him" excitedly.

He smiled and said, "Didn't I tell you that they'll easily appoint you. So, are you happy?"

I replied, "Very"

Then he said, "Misti, Nikhil has come to my hospital today."
