Who Said A Mosquito Can't Cultivate?

Note: Novel has been put on hiatus due to inability to update. Will come back to the novel in the future. Dying due to the bite of a mosquito, Bell accepted his fate as he wished that the heavens would give him a second chance at life. Fortunately, his wish was heard as he was indeed given a second chance...but with some twists involved. Ironically, he was a mosquito in this second life, a being he termed as a fragile harbinger of death. Feeling that the heavens have forsaken him, he went ahead and pleaded to the heavens to give him a sign of what he had to do in this life. It did not take long for the heavens to answer, bestowing him with the Blood Monarch System. Now equipped with the Blood Monarch System, as well as renewed confidence, let us witness the adventures of Bell in his journey to immortality...one suck at a time! Danger Lurks in Every Corner

Although it would be weird for Bell to form such a question from one perspective, from another, it did make sense as to why he thought of it. For one, recalling how he had evolved from a Young Mosquito to a Night Walker Mosquito, Bell still remembered how his Constitution had increased by a certain amount without him having to siphon the blood of any other animal. With that in mind, he made a conjecture that siphoning the blood of animals with a rare species would yield him stronger Constitution skills.

…That's all. That was the only basis Bell had while forming this conjecture.

Nevertheless, he had a hunch that his conjecture might be correct, flying above the trees of the forest once more as he zoomed towards the deeper areas in search of rare species to siphon blood from. Along the way, he checked the remaining Impure Blood Energy he had in his storage, deciding to allocate all of it towards his siphoning efficiency.

With only about 50 or so points remaining from that allocation, his [Blood Sac Proboscis] had been upgraded to Level 17, giving him 7 more points of siphoning efficiency.

Eventually, by the time the sun was halfway to setting down, Bell had arrived at a place where he felt like rare species would be more common. He did not know as to why he felt that way, but he had a hunch that there was a reason to this feeling that he just didn't have the ability to find out yet.

As he slowly searched through the various trees and bushes that covered the forest, he could not help but think about the massive increase in Constitution upgrading [Wolf's Agility] to Mastery Tier 5 brought to him. Feeling immense satisfaction from the feeling of having his Constitution increase to over double of what it was before in a short amount of time a few hours ago, he muttered to himself, "I wonder how it would feel when I upgrade the Constitution skill of a rare species to Mastery Tier 5. I'd probably faint from the sheer pleasure of growing stronger without doing anything."

Laughing at his bland joke, Bell continued to search through the part of the forest he had selected, only to eventually stop as his field of vision had finally spotted a unique animal in the forest…or at least, he thought it was.

"Surely, this would be a type of rare species, right?" Bell muttered to himself with a hint of uncertainty. Though, after looking at the other animals surrounding the unique animal a few more times, this doubt of his gradually disappeared as he asked himself, "I wonder what its name is?"

Currently, Bell was hovering over a clearing filled to the brim with multiple white rabbits. Though, unlike the other rabbits in the area, one of those rabbits had silver feet, allowing it to move faster than its peers. Although such a difference would rarely be noticed by humans, to Bell, who wanted to test out if his conjecture was correct, a difference like this was a good starting point.

"Hmm…I should probably get the Constitution skill of a normal rabbit first." Just as Bell was about to siphon the blood of that unique rabbit, he decided to siphon the blood of a normal rabbit first in order for him to compare the amount of Constitution they gave him.

"Identify Blood Energy," he soon commanded to the system as he landed on the back of one of the rabbits. Soon after, a small screen appeared on the top left part of the vision, allowing him to visualize the amount of Impure Blood Energy he could get from one rabbit.

"Only 50 points? Seriously?" Although Bell was expecting the rabbit to only give a low amount of Impure Blood Energy due to its frailty, he expected the amount to be near or at around a hundred points. He did not expect to only get 50 points from a single rabbit.

With a light sigh of disappointment, Bell poked his proboscis through the rabbit's skin as he said to himself, "Well, let's just hope I don't have to siphon a lot of rabbits to max this skill out."

Fortunately, these words of his had become true because by the time he was finished siphoning this one rabbit dry, the Constitution skill that came from the rabbit had already been maxed out.

Retracting the proboscis from the statue-like rabbit carcass, Bell then set his sights towards the rabbit with silver feet, not minding the measly amount of Constitution he obtained from the normal rabbit.

"I just have to upgrade the skill to Mastery Tier 5," he said to himself as he made his way to the rabbit with silver feet. Surprisingly, as if the rabbit with silver feet had noticed Bell, it started to move in the general direction where Bell was moving. Noticing that it would eventually turn into a game of chase in the long run, Bell went ahead and flapped his wings with his maximum strength, giving the silver-footed rabbit no chance to even escape.

In any case, by the time Bell had landed on the back of the silver-footed rabbit, he could not help but ask himself, "Can it detect me because I'm also a rare species?"

Knowing very well that he wouldn't find the answer to that any time soon, Bell decided to place this thought at the back of his head as he poked his proboscis through the silver-footed rabbit's skin and deprived it of its blood within moments. While doing so, he checked the amount of Impure Blood Energy the rare rabbit contained, slightly satisfied that it had reached 100 points.

Looking through the notifications he had received while siphoning, Bell could not help but let out a chuckle as he found out that his conjecture was correct. Although he could not explain why that was the case, just like how he did not know why he chose the area he searched in, he felt that he would obtain the answer to it eventually.

Of course, he tried asking the system to see if it knew the answer to his queries, but all it gave was…

"Unfortunately, the system cannot answer the owner's questions regarding this topic."

"Well, as long as I know that my conjecture is correct, I can now search for stronger rare species to siphon blood from," Bell muttered to himself with a hint of excitement. "Just how much Constitution could I get from them?"

With that in mind, Bell flew beyond the trees once more in search of another rare animal to siphon blood from. Surprisingly, as he had a feeling that the area he was currently in was home to more rare species, he decided to do a blanket search over the area, making sure to check every nook and cranny as every bit of Constitution those rare species would give him would surely compound higher and higher once he upgraded their Constitution skills to Mastery Tier 5.

Thankfully, it did not take long for him to find another rare species to siphon blood from, only taking about 30 minutes or so to sense that a rare animal was nearby. Just like what he felt when he saw the Silverfoot Rabbit, he felt the same feeling from the area he was at right now, near the entrance of a slightly deep cave.

"Man, is it dark there," Bell said, though he did not feel a hint of fear from the dark at all. Instead, what he felt was immense anticipation and excitement over the rare animal he had come across. Compared to the feeling given off by the Silverfoot Rabbit, the feeling given to him by this rare animal was at least ten times more intense than that.

With that feeling acting as his beacon, he headed inside the dark cave, noticing that the feeling gradually grew more and more intense as he headed deeper into the cave. Eventually, this feeling had reached its peak, prompting him to stop as he looked in front of him. Slowly but surely, his vision allowed him to see the animal that gave him that feeling, albeit vaguely.

Though, from the rough shape his vision had of the animal, as well as the heavy aura the animal emanated, Bell thought to himself with a hint of uncertainty, "Is this…a bear?"

As Bell could not see in the middle of the dark, he could not really see the figure of the animal that clearly. But if one were to wave a torch in that cave, one would find out that Bell was actually correct.

Although its original species is that of a bear, its current appearance deviated from that as its body was covered to the brim in scales that were the same color as the ground it was napping on. Other than that, it was more or less similar to that of a normal bear.

Figuratively scratching his head at the animal in front of him, Bell wondered where he should siphon blood from. Fortunately, with the help of his vision, he was able to find a certain spot where he could poke his proboscis within a minute or so. The only downside to it was that…

…the place he had chosen was the bear's ass.

Oblivious to the place he had chosen to stick his proboscis into, he started to siphon the napping bear's blood dry as he commanded the system to show the amount of Impure Blood Energy it had. From the size of the animal itself, it was no surprise that the amount of Impure Blood Energy shown by the system had given Bell a slight shock.

"600 points?! That's already 50% higher than the amount I obtained from the wolf leader!" Bell said with a hint of surprise, only to notice that the bear he was siphoning did not have any qi. With that in mind, he could not help but shudder in slight fear and excitement as to how much Impure Blood Energy he could obtain from the bear if it did have qi.

Nevertheless, by the time he was finished siphoning the bear's blood and emptying it out to his storage, he had already forgotten about the hypothetical situation, focusing his attention towards the notification screen that had appeared in front of his field of vision.

"Oh, so the animal is actually called the Earth Scale Bear. To think my guess was right," Bell said to himself with pride, oblivious to the boost in Constitution the animal's skill had given to him. Of course, it did not take long for him to notice, leaving him at a loss for words as he said, "You're kidding, right?"

"Did I…perhaps…hit the jackpot?" Bell could not help but think to himself, only to command the system soon after to let him view his current Constitution.

Ding!

By the time a small holographic screen had appeared in front of his field of vision, the number that came after the word 'Constitution' instantly filled him up with motivation and anticipation.

________

Constitution: 0.44176

________

Noticing he was just a few upgrades away to reaching the next goal given to him by the system, Bell could not help but be thankful to the bear he had just siphoned to death, saying, "Thank you, you Earth Scale Bear! If not for you, I might have taken longer to reach this Constitution stat."

"Of course, I still thank myself for the most part since if I didn't think about siphoning the blood of rare species, I might have been toiling away to siphon blood to upgrade Constitution skills that give lower Constitution," he continued, not forgetting to make himself feel special.

Unfortunately, just as he was about to leave the cave in search of animals he could siphon blood from so he could upgrade his newly obtained Constitution skill, a wave of energy swept over the cave, instantly instilling a feeling of immense fear into Bell. The fear he felt at this moment was so immense that he felt like it was hard for him to move.

"What's happening?" Bell could not help but ask, only to become silent as he heard footsteps gradually become louder as time passed, heading towards his direction. Eventually, the being that made those footsteps had appeared in his field of vision, allowing Bell to see the figure of the being that emanated that wave of energy that made him feel so much fear.

Although he had seen a few humans along the way to the forest, this was the first time a human had given him a feeling of innate fear. It was as if any move he made under this human's vision would be seen through.

As for the human that had appeared in front of Bell, it soon noticed the jet-black mosquito sticking out of the bear's ass and said with a light chuckle, "Well, well, well. How lucky could I be."

"To think that I would find myself a Night Walker Mosquito to tame as a pet."

I wouldn't get your hopes up if I were you, but enjoy the chapter.
