In a dark, gritty world filled with supernatural forces of unknown origin, a mysterious man known only as Zero awakens deep in an abandoned bunker with no memory of who he is or how he got there. As he emerges from the underground ruins into the scarred wastelands above, Zero finds a society on the brink of collapse, plagued by horrific beasts with uncanny abilities.
zero soon realizes he possesses his own uncanny strength and combat skills far beyond anything human. When he saves a group of survivors from a monstrous attack, the people are both wary yet intrigued by this solitary stranger and his inhuman powers. Against his better judgement, Zero finds himself drawn into helping the survivors on increasingly dangerous missions to locate dwindling resources and make contact with other enclaves of humans who may still remain.
But Zero begins to experience terrifying flashes of visions and half-remembered traumas from some dark past. Pursued by strange shadowy figures and plagued by shattering headaches, he starts to question whether he is truly human at all. As Zero unravels secrets of this shattered world and his own forgotten past, he must make desperate allies and deadly enemies, all while staying one step ahead of the monsters--both human and inhuman--that threaten to destroy the last remnants of civilization.
In a perilous world on the brink of annihilation, Zero may be the only force that can defeat the darkness, if he can remember in time who--or what--he truly is.
