Chapter 4

"Morning Boss"

Avril turned to look at his assistant who noticed the anger in his boss's eyes.

"Am sorry boss after I got the information about her I bumped into the vice president who invited me for a drink" he said.

"So you dumped my work to have a drink with Richard, who is your employer between us two?" he asked.

"You"

"But you still chose to get drunk and not complete what I had assigned you" Avril angrily muttered, "Do you even know what I went through last night ".

His assistant moved back, a voice stopped Avril before he would continue.

"Come on don't be that mad in the morning, it was my fault not his," Richard said walking in.

Avril sighed sipping his coffee. Richard sat down and glanced at him studying his face.

"Your friend here refused to tell me what happened no matter how much he drank and seeing those dark circles under your eyes I guess something is really wrong" said Richard.

"Mind your own business, Richard" Avril commented.

Richard scoffed, "Tony get me some coffee too" he gestured.

Tony ran off to the kitchen.

"I need another copy of those documents before the meeting today," Avril said.

"Huh, but I handed you a copy last night, what happened to that?" he asked.

Avril flinched closing his eyes as a memory from the previous night played in his mind. The strange woman still asleep in his room upstairs had stained it with her vomit.

"It can't be used, so I need a new one," he said

"What's wrong with you today, you look like you didn't sleep. What really happened last night?".

Avril turned to speak but stop as his eyes moved to the figure moving down his stairs.

Richard followed and gasped.

Long black messy hair, pale but beautiful white skin, and was dressed in his shirt that didn't do anything to cover her long white legs as she climbed down the stairs.

She stopped and looked at them then gave them the most awkward smile, turned around and ran back up.

Both men now silent stared back at each other and flinched when they heard the door to his room shut closed.

"Who is she?" Richard turned to his friend but Avril ignored him getting up.

'''Oh my God, I did it again. why did I drink so much last night '' muttered Lain.

She took deep breaths, trying to remember what had happened last night. Her two brothers had taken the day off to celebrate her birthday but were so happy and drunk too much. Why did I do that fully knowing my problem ..she cried.

The door to the room opened and one of the men she had seen downstairs walked in.

He must be the owner of the house she was in now, before he could say anything she raised her hand to stop him.

''You must be the owner of this home, I am really really sorry about whatever I did last night or happened. I was so drunk and don't remember much but I know I was disgusting and noisy'' she let out.

He stood still and stared calmly at her, ''So you know what you turn into?..he said.

''Huh?''...she looked up...''Oh because it's what I turn into when I over drink , my brothers and friends told me'' she explained.

He sighed,'' So if you knew why you still drink that much that you confused me for your brother ?''.

''Because last night was my birthday party, and I was with my brothers ...but I think I strayed off and bumped into you instead'' She looked down apologetically ..am really sorry and if I damaged anything please tell me I will replace them immediately ''

He scoffed, ''Do you really think you can?''

She looked up at him and felt her body fill with goosebumps as his calm yet angry eyes stared down at her.

''Okay ''he said and walked to the bed sitting down.

''What happened after that'' Lina's roommate asked.

She frowned continuing her story, ''what do you think, I finally think I met the devil incarnate. he told me to buy the suit I threw up on and get him a new shirt to replace the one I used and even new sheets for the ones I slept on'' she yelled.

Her roommate laughed ''But he has a right to ask for them, you offered to replace anything and he was kind enough to let you stay over at his place without knowing who you are''

She sighed '' I know your right but he was so mean telling me to get out of his house immediately I got changed, am only doing this cause of what he did for me last night''

''So have you talked to your brothers? they almost went crazy last night looking for you since you disappeared and had left your phone behind too so they couldn't even call you ''

''I called them after leaving that arrogant man's place. they sounded relieved but I think I have a scolding tonight from Archie''

''Its there fault in the first place for letting you drink that much when they know what you turn into when drunk''

Lian turned to her slowly,''why does that sound like a mean comment,am not a monster when drunk''she said.

Her roommate scoffed, ''If that's what you think suits yourself but know this in your mind, that man must be traumatized now every time he thinks of what happened to him last night''.
