Chapter 21

Lina was asleep when she heard a noise in the living room.

"Come now, you lost all your cold charm when you got drunk" Richard wobbled into the living room with Avril leaning on his shoulder.

"I just want to see her that's all" muttered Avril

"Now I know the reason why you don't drink, you turn into a huge drunk pervert " Richard moved ready to climb the stairs when Lina appeared from her room.

"Is he okay?" she yawned.

"Come close," said Richard and she did, and Lina's eyes popped open when Richard threw Avril's huge weight on her.

Moving back she held him and looked up with difficulty, "So heavy she muttered.

"He is but it's good you came, he wanted to see you after all. I will be going now, please take care of him " Richard turned and disappeared out the main door before Lina could complain even more.

She sighed turning to the half-drunk man in her arms.

"Mr Alexander are you awake "but he didn't answer....." Please if you are moving a little you are quite heavy and my wound still hurts "moaned Lina.

Avril shifted lifting himself and stood still, she huffed almost falling but he caught her," Careful," he said.

"Thanks, she gazed at him "Are you drunk?" she asked.

"Not sure," he said, she felt his hold on her waist tighten as he got closer.

Lina leaned back but Avril swiftly pulled her back, "Who are you?" she heard him say.

"Ahh... I am your new intern Lina Williams" she answered.

He let her go and turned to the couch, "Give me a second" he said sitting down.

"Okay, let me get you a glass of water" she said....but when she turned Lina dropped to the floor flinching in pain. Feeling a cold breeze she looked up to see Avril down next to her.

"What happened?" he asked.

She blinked moving her eyes to the couch and back to him. "How did you..." he stopped her looking down at her heel.

"It's bleeding again," he said.

"Mmm, I might have used it when I came to see who it was and also when I held you" she muttered.

He frowned, "Does it hurt?"

"Not that much" she smiled..."Go lay down I can manage"

He watched her try to get up and fail. He sighed, "Don't worry about me am fine now, but you... are bleeding again"

She giggled, "But it doesn't hurt"

His cold eyes raised to her, "You should start thinking about yourself before others. Am fine but your not"

Her body filled with goosebumps upon meeting his serious cruel face. There was no emotion as he let them out.

"O... Oh okay" she darted back.

"Let go clean it up," he said. Lina let him carry her up and walk up the stairs. She wanted to tell him it wasn't her way to her room but decided otherwise.

Thinking he would have a hard time since he was drunk Avril surprised her as he moved normally.

"Hmm, are you still drunk," she asked before thinking.

"No, am sober now" he replied.

She fell silent again, he reached his room took her in and moved grabbing the first aid.

He returned to find her holding her bleeding foot on her lap.

"What are you doing?" he sounded angry.

"I don't want to stain anything with my blood again," she said.

He sighed walked back to her and took it back down, "Did you hear me complain"

"No"

She smiled thinking of how many times he had taken care of her, even when cold with his words he was still gentle while changing the bandage.

"Thanks again" she smiled.

He turned away returned the aid box and moved to the bathroom.

She stayed seated wondering whether to leave or stay there like a vegetable. After a while, Lina got tired and laid back. She was still drowsy from her sleep.

Avril stepped out of the bathroom and stopped when his eyes fell on the now-sleeping Lina. She had crawled into a ball on his bed.

He scoffed.
