Chapter 2

" Did you feel that honey?" A man said to his wife.

"Yes my love I did" said the women.

As they both looked at each other with fear in they're eyes they both realized what just happened.

Alisons mother was a beautiful woman with long black hair and piercing green eyes, her father was tall and muscular man, very handsome with a strong jaw line, his hair was brown and Alison had inherited his dark brown eyes that were warm and kind.

" Daniel it's finally happened, we have run out of time!" Alison mother sobbed.

" I know my darling Rose, it was only a matter of time after she turned 18 we knew she wouldn't stay spellbound much longer." Daniel said with sadness.

" As of now I think it's time to send a fire message to your brother Aaron in Calstonia, he'll know what to do, they've been expecting this day for 17 years.

Rose looked out the window as the moonlight illuminated the night sky and a single tear fell down her face. She trembled as her legs gave way and she fell to the floor. Daniel ran to his wife's side and cradled her in his arms. " oh sweetheart I know how terrible this is but we can not fall apart just yet, Alison is going to need us to be strong for what's to come." Daniel sighed feeling a heaviness forming in his heart.

Daniel picked up the phone and called becca and Leo's parents Thomas and Catherine. " hello" said an older gentleman with sleep in his voice.

"Tom I hate to call you so late but it's time!" Is all the words Daniel needed to say.

" we'll be over in 10 minutes" Thomas said quickly and hung up the phone.

Years earlier in the southern kingdom of calstonia a castle is seen standing tall in a valley of flowers. For centuries calstonia had been divided into two kingdoms. In the north you have the kingdom of shadows and in the south the kingdom of light. Both natives have been at odds with each other for hundreds of years. Each kingdom believing they had to right to rule over all of calstonia. In the south the people were known as the divine, these people had the ability to control the elements of earth, air, fire, and water. With each person being able to control one of the elements. The royal family were the strongest amongst the people of south and were able to control all the elements.

In the north the kingdom of shadows the land was cold as Ice and the castle sat on top of a mountain covered in snow. The people lived a harsh life amongst the cold, the family that ruled this kingdom was dark and cruel. They had powers over the shadow world and could drive a person to madness with they're abilities of compulsion. The king came to this land a long time ago. He promised to make the lives of the people here better, he promised to bring them out of the cold in the mountains and take over the southern kingdom so they could live where the land prospers. The people were desperate for a better life so they gave their undying loyalty to the king and in returned he gifted the strongest amongst them with a drop of his blood. With just one drop each person was able to take on some of his powers. These warriors and advisors could move like lightening, or were able to turn into shadows. They were stronger than the normal mundane. After the king build up his army the war began.

Even though the people gained some of his powers they were still mundane with a mundane life span. The king and his family weren't immortal but rather aged at a very slow rate, but because the mundanes didn't inherit this trait it left the king no other choice but to recruit new members into his army, at the age of 18 the king would test your ability to fight and the strong would be chosen.

When Daniel had turned 18 he was recruited for the army, he fought his way up through the ranks. He was skillful in all aspects of fighting and very intelligent. By the time he was 22 he had become the General. It was his dedication and loyalty to the cause that gained his respect from the king and his willingness to die for his men gave him all the respect he needed from his soldiers to let him lead them into every battle.

In the woods a few miles north of the southern boarder of calstonia Daniel was preparing his army for a sneak attack on the guards set up around the boarder.

"General the soldiers are armed and ready awaiting your next set of orders" Christen who was second in command announced.

"Very good". Daniel said with determination in his voice. "Once we break their lines we can advance into the southern territory!"

"Keep the men close to the edge of forest and have them use their cloaking ability in the shadows."

"I'm going to get closer to the clearing to see how many guards are posted wait for my signal." Said Daniel, and then the shadows consumed him and his silhouette disappeared.

As Daniel creeped closer to the clearing he saw a girl picking flowers with two guards flanking her. Daniel gasped at her. She was beautiful with long raven hair and stunning green eyes. The guard said something to her and she giggled. The sound was so mesmerizing to Daniel's ears. Lost in her beauty he started to advance and as he took a step he broke a branch under his foot. Aloud snap was heard.

The guards quickly surrounded the girl and unsheathed their swords. Looking around the clearing they could se nothing. Daniel held his breath to mask his presence. He knew they could not see him but it did not stop his heart from fluttering when it appeared the girl had locked eyes with his when she glanced in his direction.

"Come may lady back to the castle it is not safe out here in the open." The guard said to the girl.
