Hanako vs Haruto [Part 1]

"Calm down, kid," said Haruto, in a cold and expressionless voice.

Hanako stood up quickly when Haruto released his grip on her wrist.

"How…dare you call me a kid!" she shouted at Haruto

A beat—and then she disappeared from the point she was standing. Suddenly she appeared right in front of Haruto and attacked him with a kick.

He blocked it and they exchanged a pair of kicks. The resulting shockwave split the ground around.

Using Haruto's kick as support, Hanako jumped at delivered a rock-hard punch on Haruto's face.

She then jumped far away from him for defense.

—Crack!

The punch caused Haruto's mask to crack, and then it broke into pieces and fell to the ground revealing Haruto's face.

Even Hanako—the demon lord, backed off a few steps after seeing the look on his face.

"I would have unleashed my anger right here if it wasn't for the lives of these soldiers," Haruto said to himself as he looked at his broken mask.

Hanako gritted her teeth when she saw that he was mostly ignoring her. She raised both of her hands toward Haruto and four magic circles appeared after her hands.

Huge flames were launched towards Haruto by those circles; the flames were so hot that the ground below them burned and turned black.

—Fuu!

Haruto blew a little amount of air from his mouth toward the flames causing them to extinguish completely.

"What!" Hanako shouted.

Her reaction was reasonable, after all, he nullified the seventh-tier magic spell: [Hall of flames], just by blowing air from his mouth.

"Oh well," said Haruto as he picked up his mask which was back in shape.

He knew his mask could break if he engaged in a fight so he had made preparations for it beforehand. He had cast a spell on the mask by which the wood from which the mask is made will remember its shape and come back to its original form even if broken.

He wore the mask and then finally turned towards Hanako.

"Guess I'll be a little rough!" he said as he cracked his fingers.

—Zap!

Hanako was staring at him the whole time but he suddenly disappeared!

—BOOOM!

Appearing right in front of Hanako, he landed a punch on her abdomen. She coughed blood as she was sent flying backward by him causing a sonic boom.

Somehow gaining control, she opened her wings mid-way and prevent herself from crashing to the ground.

—Zap!

Even before she could let out a breath, Haruto appeared after her just like before, but he also had his wings open this time. This time his punch was targeted toward her chest.

As he was about to hit her, his punch clashed with something transparent. It was Hanako's barrier. The barrier shattered into pieces but prevented her from getting hit.

Flames covered Haruto's body as he used [Fire control]. In a blink the flames expanded, swallowing Hanako within them.

Right when the flames expanded, Hanako used water-type magic to create a shield around herself. The flames and the water shield canceled each other out, leaving only white steam behind.

"Tch!" Hanako clicked her tongue.

She increased the mana flow in her fist causing it to glow in red. It was not just a normal punch, it was the ninth-tier magic spell: [Blood Moon].

The red energy which was around her fist grew more and took the shape of a flame.

She threw that punch toward him with as much speed as she can. As the punch hit his face, hexagonal patterns appeared between Haruto's face and Hanako's fist.

Her punch didn't actually clash with the personal barrier Haruto had set up when he saw Hanako using [Blood Moon]. She used [Blood Moon] on her left hand also and started launching punches at him, one after another.

Wherever the punches clashed with his barrier, hexagonal patterns appeared on that spot, and shockwaves were released every time.

"How weak someone can be!" said Haruto, indirectly mocking Hanako.

"Seventh-tier magic: [Discharge]" he said.

Black-colored energy settled around Haruto and then expanded in the blink of an eye. As the energy hit Hanako, she received an electric shock causing her skin to burn a little.

Before she could try anything else, he grabbed Hanako from her neck and threw her to the ground below. Hanako tried to break her fall by using her wings but failed miserably. She crashed to the ground below, ripping apart the top soil she went a few meters inside the ground.

Right after, Haruto landed beside her and looked at the crater which was formed by Hanako's crash landing.

"Huh?" he said, Hanako was not in there.

"Super-tier magic: [Fallen angel]" someone said from behind, it was Hanako's voice.

Before he could turn back, A wide and thick pillar of energy beam that came down from the sky hit him. As the beam made contact with the land, it melted the ground into lava.

A roof of hexagonal patter was over Haruto as the beam was constantly colliding with his barrier.

—Crack! —Crack! —Crack!

His barrier cracked and broke and the beam hit him directly. The beam continuously fell on him for the next ten seconds before it closed towards its center and vanished.

The ground which came in contact with the beam was now lava. Haruto's condition was—if not much, was a little bad. He was standing by holding his knees by arms for support and his robe was completely burned.

He had cast the same spell—he used on the mask, on his inner clothes so they were not burned.

He was hit by the first among the three classes of magic which crossed the very definition of tiers. This was the disadvantage he knew he had even before the fight started.

He could have easily beaten her if he had access, but the condition that—only ones with the title of 'Demon Lord' or 'Hero' can use super-tier magic wasn't in his favor.

He looked up and saw Hanako standing there in a victory pose, her injuries were completely healed. It was also because of the world system's condition that a demon lord can only be killed by a hero.

A smirk appeared on her face as she said, "I win!" or she thought.
